In our socialist reality a great place is occupied by the problems of the formation of a new man, a comprehensively developed personality. These concepts include very many qualities. Perhaps the main ones are the desire to serve the common cause, to give it all your creative powers, all the energy of the soul, the ability to resist routine, inertia, everything that prevents you from building a new life, the ability to subordinate your own interests to the interests of the team.
These qualities, which characterize a socially active person, his consciousness, will and desire to work successfully for the benefit of Soviet society, are by no means always manifested in every person in the proper measure. This can be explained by the conditions of upbringing and the properties of nature.
Soviet society creates maximum opportunities for developing the abilities of each person and increasing his labor activity. However, self-education and self-improvement also decide a lot here. Everyone can develop social useful qualities. You just need to find the right approach to yourself, to unravel the mystery of your "I". Master the art of being yourself.
good helper this can be a real book written by a psychotherapist and a writer.
The first edition of the book quickly sold out, but the reader's demand for it was far from being satisfied.
Deep professional knowledge and rich medical experience give the author the opportunity to freely navigate the subtlest issues of practical psychotechnics, gently and tactfully give recommendations and advice, and authoritatively argue them. Special place the book takes practice autogenic training which today attracts a keen interest of both specialists and the general reader.
The second edition of the book is supplemented with new materials: expanded practical side- largely due to psychotherapeutic correspondence. The author tried to select letters and answers that are generally valid, so that it would be easier for the reader to compare them with own experience in order to master the art of self-knowledge and self-education with the most tangible result.
WHAT IS THE MOST TRUE IN THE INDIVIDUAL, THAT WHERE HE IS THE MOST OF ITSELF, IS HIS POSSIBILITY, WHICH HISTORY REVEALS HIM WITH UNCERTAINTY.

ABOUT THE USE AND USEFULNESS OF CAPITAL TRUTH

The desire for self-improvement has the age of mankind. The range of differences between people is immense, each person is unique. Everyone has their own motivations to change themselves, it's never too late to start. Axioms of self-knowledge. To love yourself means to be demanding of yourself.

SCANDAL WITH YOURSELF

All good advice already given. All the rules of wisdom and self-control were drawn up long before our era, and nothing significant has been added to them since the time of Marcus Aurelius. The unfortunate fact that so far these recipes have helped few people has many reasons; here by at least two of them:
when people can help themselves, they often don't want to. Many unconsciously seek suffering. Many want to remain childishly helpless;
when people sincerely want to help themselves by taking advantage of someone else's hint, for the most part they still don't know how to do it, because just in case good advice you need a dozen more - how to complete it.
The most basic difficulty is that some people have poorly developed conscious forces that could control the power of the unconscious in the chosen direction. Our nature still has little confidence in our reason. Therefore, it is very easy to make any reasonable decision about yourself and very difficult to carry it out. Full consent between the conscious and the subconscious is no more common than a happy marriage. But the subconscious mind's favorite way of doing things is to act as if it doesn't exist, as if the conscious mind is in control of everything. When consciousness discovers a catch, a scandal with itself begins ...
This book does not give recipes for happiness, but tells about some techniques for consciously helping your subconscious mind. These techniques, which basically fall under the concept of "auto-suggestion", are available to anyone who wishes and, most importantly, will give himself time to master them.
It's about about elementary technique dealing with one's "I", about the most basic levers of self-management.

WELL, AND YOURSELF?

human wisdom, including that which concerns self-government, does not know the boundaries of science, art, rituals and everyday life. Actor's methods of getting used to the character, the rules of spells, self-hypnosis, healing and ordinary - you need to be blind not to see that in essence this is one thing. Sometimes, however, to see the general, you have to make some effort. Between modern auto-training (AT), ancient yoga and other old and new ways of spiritual and bodily improvement turned out to be many coincidences, much more than differences, and for the most part these are not borrowings. Of course, there is no panacea and probably will not be, a rigorous science of personality is just beginning. But there is a living stream of thought into which anyone can enter, crossroads of knowledge where different languages talking about one thing.
After the first articles and books, I began to receive a lot of letters. A lot of "correspondents" appeared. I can’t cope with correspondence, I’m not able to accept everyone ... There are excellent specialists in this area, but they are not enough: the need of the mass of people for improvised means of controlling their body and psyche is very great. To what extent does the author own the method he writes about?
Sufficient for myself. Perhaps only for the time being: helping others is undoubtedly easier than helping oneself. AT did not make me perfect, but it helped me get rid of many troubles. Some of the students have moved on.

THUNDER DOESN'T ROOM...

No one can be forced to self-improvement either by persuasion, or by threats, or by hypnosis, if he does not have his own inner urges to do so. Imperfection usually catches by surprise. A person begins to notice the insufficiency of his ordinary self-control in difficulties: an increased volume and complexity of work, a tense situation, conflict, illness, age - it is here that it turns out that many, it would seem, simple things you need to study or finish your studies: concentration and mobilization, switching and emotional reconfiguration, relaxation, rest, sleep ...
Self-management is difficult when it is most needed. The vast majority of people never specifically learn this. Is it any wonder that people come to exams unprepared?

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PEOPLE

both physical and mental, sometimes turn out to be more significant than the differences between animals different types. The same person in different time may differ from oneself more than from another.
From this it is already clear how difficult it is to create universal system health. The demand for such systems, however, has always been. There were always offers.
"Development magnetic force and memory enhancement”, “Volitional gymnastics”, “School of self-control”, “Willpower in business and Everyday life”, “Five minutes a day for health”, “How to stop worrying and start living” ... - such guides were published in the past and the century before last, and in the present there are, of course, even more of them. Some of them have a lot of useful things, but the cumulative result, apparently, always corresponded to the formula: “the smart ones got smarter, the stupid ones got dumber, and thousands of others did not change in anything.” At the beginning of the century, the Muller system was popular in Europe and America. It seemed that nothing could be more natural and harmonious: air, the sun, various movements, moderation in everything ... There are still adherents of this system, but for some reason its creator himself died quite early. However, even if the system did not help its creator, this does not mean that it is not suitable, as well as the opposite. My opinion: every system is good in its own way, if you follow it with faith. But not with the blind...
This also applies to Indian yoga, which organizes a person from top to bottom, physically and spiritually, and all this for years. To get what you want from yoga, you need to literally be reborn into a yoga, live it all the time, adapt to yoga yourself and adapt it to yourself. This is work, a kind of asceticism, and a very special lifestyle. The inclusiveness of yoga does not exclude the use of individual techniques, but apart from the system, their value is noticeably reduced.
As for auto-training, this is still only a set of techniques; it has not reached an all-encompassing system. Maybe it's for the best. So far, its purpose is to help people leading a normal, that is, more or less unsystematic lifestyle. Like yoga, main disadvantage AT - small range of individualization.

NO PERFECT

There is no person who is everywhere and always in control of himself; there is no one who never has power over himself.
Many people who are perfectly self-controlled in communication are cold-blooded in the most dangerous situations, none-
what they can’t do when they need to force themselves to study, or they won’t resist a glass. Collected and organized are often irritable or shy. One loses control public speaking, the other in exams, the third - only in intimate situations, the fourth - in communication with a single person. In short, everyone has their areas of least and greatest self-control. And it is hardly necessary that a person should always have the same control over himself.
I cannot define this measure - everyone determines it for himself. To understand why a person this case the master of himself, but not in the other, sometimes you have to sort out his whole life with early childhood, take into account both heredity and upbringing, psychotherapists break spears ... But you can comprehend a lot in yourself, keeping in mind

A HALF DOZEN CAPITAL TRUTH,

TO WHICH THE AUTHOR HAS COME IN PARTLY ON OWN MISTAKE

1. You cannot change yourself in the desired direction without constantly studying yourself.
2. You cannot study yourself without trying to change yourself.
3. You cannot study yourself without studying other people at the same time and with equal interest (at least one more person about century; but the more the better).
4. It is impossible to study a person coldly: in this way a person is unknowable, because his nature resists study as violence; You can truly understand a person only by helping him.
5. Neither oneself nor others can be studied except in activity and communication.
6. The study of man and self-study are fundamentally incomplete, because man is « open system » , changing in many ways unpredictably: more than any other existing t wow, man « becomes » , but not « there is » .
So, there will be no more agitation for self-improvement, we will only warn about some of the difficulties of reading and reaching the truths mentioned.
If someone believes that the path of a book to the reader is the author - the manuscript - editing (instances) - printing house (instances) - bookseller - shop (library), and if he thinks that, having got the book, he already owns it as property, as some material-spiritual body, then he
a) naive
b) hopelessly naive
c) has the right not to read this book.
Real obstruction begins only from the moment when the reader opens the book. No, even earlier, much earlier...
« Dear Professor Vladislav Yakovlevich!
In your book « In pursuit of thought » I was interested ... I also read your book « How to live with yourself » and then I got a doubt...

Thank you in advance
Your reader N. »
Well, here it is again ... Well, write to my grateful reader in advance that « In pursuit of thought » , a « Thought Hunt » ?.. That I am not Vladislav Yakovlevich and not a professor - in the same place in black and white, in the annotation ... And not « live with... » . What if she doesn't read the letter? I am not a pedant - a professor is a professor, but this strange veil before my eyes, this amazing inaccuracy, blurring of perception ... How can this be explained?
Attention Barrier. I read copious letters and do some calculations in between. Sadly, it turns out that at least every second reader, looking at the book with the best of intentions,
looks and does not see
or looks, but sees:
a) not that (21.3%),
b) not quite right (15.7%),
c) not at all (13%).
Other estimates show that the average print consumer spends only twice as much attention on reading one book as catching a single fly and 33.3 times less than watching a hockey or football match with leading club teams. Maybe people get tired. This crazy age - it's hard to concentrate... The author must be patient, attentive, must explain, chew... Barriers of Language, Barriers of Culture. And the reader...
“Dear doctor!
While reading your book “Me and Us”, I found myself suffering from manic psychosis and schizophrenia in the stage of three exclamation points. Please advise what to do next.
Sincerely - O. "
“Comrade author!
I work as a firefighter. I practice yoga. Unfortunately, there is nothing in your book on the yoga system as applied to fire fighting. We hope that in e This omission will be corrected in a future edition.
With regards - J. "
General level, literacy, etc., of course, are essential, but the main thing is what blinkers are on the eyes and brains - the barriers of all kinds of installations, all kinds of internal filters. You catch it yourself too, but it takes a decent amount of time ...
In short, auto-training is also necessary for reading - so, let's get to the point. First condition:

LOVE YOURSELF AS YOUR NEIGHBOR

The poet called for this ironically, the philosopher seriously; but self-love is indeed man's first duty. No one, of course, likes the self-satisfied, and many beautiful people suffer from dissatisfaction with themselves. But a person who does not love himself at all is terrible. Only the one who loves himself confidently, without breaking, is able to love others - look at the most charming, kind and open people, and you will see that this is so: they love themselves so calmly that they do not have to support this love with any self-affirmation, they do not have to hide their shortcomings too much and be afraid of ridicule and condemnation. This love is natural, and therefore imperceptible, there is nothing forced in it. Such people are always favorites, and they show that self-love has nothing to do with self-satisfaction and is not at all what they call self-love, egocentrism ...
This is closest to how you treated yourself as a child: this is the wise and fearless dignity of a living being, the instinctive feeling of one's value without any encroachment on the value of others. At that time, you still unconsciously loved the whole world in yourself and the unique originality of the unique person that you really are. This pattern of genes, this library of memory, this living, feeling, strange, familiar, changing - such, just such a being has never been before and will not be again - and this is you. Each of your properties and qualities, perhaps, can be found individually with someone, or something close, but their combination is only one among conceivable life.
The individual is both younger and older than civilization. Each carries, in addition to the makings of well-known abilities that are in demand today, also "N" unknown - already or not yet needed.
It is quite possible that this book is now being read by the Brilliant Root Gatherer (pre-cave era), the Great Shaman (barbarism) or the World Champion in Telepathic All-around (thirtieth century), now a locksmith of the sixth category.
We are graveyards of silent mysteries. If there were not this vast, indefinite, mysterious excess of brain, heated in human heads, how could History in every epoch find the geniuses it needs, always different and dissimilar?
Isn't it obvious that any person is incomparably larger, wider, deeper than that, in what way can he manifest himself, be it a profession, poetry or appearance? The evaluation pegs we impale each other on are ridiculously small and stupid. An unmanifested secret in oneself, a unique bunch of the past, present, and future is worth loving. And the first condition for any self-improvement, including that incomplete, grassroots one, which is discussed in this book, is to accept yourself, to give yourself the right to love yourself, with all the shortcomings, regardless of anyone and nothing - the original right to be yourself. Only with such an attitude towards yourself does it make sense to work on yourself - why improve what you do not like?
IF PEOPLE CAN USE CONSCIOUS SELF-SUGGESTION USEFULLY, THEY SHOULD BE TEACHED TO DO IT AS WELL AS THEY ARE TEACHED TO READ AND WRITE.
Emile Coue

ABOUT WOMEN'S LOGIC, INDIVIDUAL TO MEN

It is useful to know that there is always something in the head that we do not know about. The subconscious sometimes leads the consciousness, sometimes it lags behind for a long time. He has his own logic. We subconsciously anticipate ourselves all the time. The scourge of the century is paradoxical states. Circle of the Absolute.

ARE WE AUTOMATIC?

It can be said that we live a violent life: the main thing that sustains our existence depends so little on our will.
The biochemical machine of the body makes us live and gives us the opportunity to be aware of our life: all these trillions of cells that make up our body absorb and excrete something, split and synthesize something absolutely without our knowledge and constantly put us before a fait accompli that we are. Without asking our wishes, the kidneys, liver and spleen work, the bone marrow silently renews the blood, the heart beats with concentration ... Each hair lives its own life ... It is not our will that starts this unit and it is not ours, with a few exceptions, that stops it.
But this is not enough. In consciousness itself there is a mass of things that do not depend on it. Consciousness... This is a myriad of interhuman patterns that, imprinted in the brain, produce feelings and impulses, thoughts and judgments, decisions and actions - and we consider them to be ours. Is there anything of its own, except for new combinations of what is already available and learned?
But an automaton that has become aware of its automaticity ceases to be just an automaton. When he penetrates the essence and connection of things, when he clearly sees the chains of cause and effect, it becomes possible to calculate. Further - only for the right combination of actions, and now you can create.

MULTIFACETED UNREPORTABLE

I go home, I go up the stairs, I go to the door... I already have the right key in my hand - I didn’t notice how it ended up in it, it happened by itself, my consciousness only noted the result: here is the key. Sometimes, without realizing it, while thinking about something, I open the door, enter the room, turn on the light, take off my coat...
"Subconscious", "subconscious", "unconscious" - that's all you hear when it comes to human psyche. The existence of this vast and vague sphere, locked in us, has been known since time immemorial, but there is still no clear definition.
And yet?
For some reason, she decided to check ... So it is, there are no keys ... a ve... Here! They fell out, and when they didn’t notice ... It’s good that I missed it ... Her companion immediately remembered that about an hour ago he heard some kind of faint ringing, but he did not pay attention to it ... Och e apparently, she heard the same sound, but it was not before, and the brain all this time was subconsciously deciding what the sound could mean, and in time, although not directly, issued a decision ...
It happens?..
N. unexpectedly, inexplicably insulted his best friend. For N. himself, the reason was ugly behavior, M.'s arrogance. Meanwhile, there was no ugly behavior. Just N., an unfortunate person, without suspecting it, already long time envied M.'s success and was jealous of his wife, who spoke approvingly of him. He envied subconsciously, unconsciously looking for a reason to quarrel - and now it broke through.
It's also not that unusual...
You have been asked to think about a problem. “Okay, I’ll think about it,” you say, and, as is often the case, you put off the time of reflection for indefinite term as if forgetting everything. Suddenly, after a while, the problem pops up in your brain by itself, it is clear in almost all details, the solution is ready: the "order" was completed. So you had subconscious concentration?
So, returning to an attempt to derive a definition: what is happening in the brain at this moment, but does not make itself felt. However, we ourselves (or another person) are directly or indirectly convinced that it was, is, will be ...

THIS IS IN US ALWAYS

unconsciously
the spleen, liver, bone marrow, white blood cells and other internal economy of the body work, including most brain cells ...
Unconsciously
a person tosses and turns in his sleep, cries out in pain, grabs a bruised place, imitates, strives not to be alone, to continue the race, to receive his measure of pleasure and suffering ...
Subconsciously
worries about the future, when there seems to be no reason for it, experiences forbidden desires, seeks to expose himself to best light even when it is not necessary at all, at the same time he knows his true price, notices a lot of things, suspects something, builds both unrealizable and quite real plans, often envies, sometimes solves problems and composes ...
Consciously
keeps money in a savings bank, flies with Aeroflot planes, gives compliments, dresses warmly in cold weather, takes medicine, quits smoking, again imitates, composes, suspects...
Approximately so it is possible to designate the steps from the level of absolute unconsciousness to full awareness. Even an inexperienced reader can see how fuzzy the boundaries are: the “top” of the unconscious and the “bottom” of consciousness are constantly passing into each other, and sometimes it’s simply impossible to say how a person acts and thinks - subconsciously or consciously.
During the periods of examination sessions at the underpasses of the Universitet metro station, you can see students reading on the go. The gaze is almost inseparably fixed on the book, at the same time young man goes quite confidently, not colliding with anyone, avoids in time, not a single unnecessary movement. Here, without looking up from the book, he descends from the escalator ... Obviously, he still sees the surroundings out of the corners of his eyes ...
Such semi-conscious or semi-subconscious actions are innumerable. The goalkeeper's throw at the ball can be both calculated and completely unaccountable: he is “thrown”, and only in the next moment he manages to realize that this has happened.
A layer of the unconscious is always present in the psyche, at any moment, even when it seems that the very work of the subconscious has become accessible to consciousness (as it was, for example, during creative insights the mathematician Poincaré). No, at the moment of the present, it is impossible to know about the content of your subconscious. But he can be judged later, indirectly, and his work can be foreseen. You can say this: consciousness is the “tip of the iceberg” of the subconscious. Our main postulate is: there is nothing subconscious that could not be realized sooner or later, and there is nothing conscious that could not go into the subconscious a nie.

THIS IS A COMBINED UNIVERSE

Who knows how many feelings, conjectures, ideas live, doze and go out in us, and remain "folded", not reaching the "top". The time of "life" in the consciousness of one or another representation, feeling, thought, etc. is easy to establish; in the subconscious, this time is indefinite: both the echo of the past and the sketches of the future move in it, as it were, loosely, balanced, without a rigid mutual connection, and therefore one can never be quite sure what is there and what is not ...

THE CIRCLE OF THE ABSOLUTE

Everything that is in the world, everything that is reflected in our consciousness and subconsciousness, is laid out by the brain approximately according to this scheme. In the very center is an area that can be conditionally called the sphere of No Doubt, or the Circle. Absolute Faith.
Next are the spheres of Reliable, Doubtful, Unlikely, Incredible (the definitions are again conditional).
The circle of the Absolute is what we believe in not only with the mind and logic, but also with feelings. In other words: such impressions, thoughts, ideas that can turn into our states.

YES-NO MACHINE

Now I want to describe a kind of boring process. At the table you are offered this and that. You must either accept with gratitude or politely refuse... But at the first moment you don't know what to answer; you must first ask yourself: for this brief moment internal question you have a special, unique facial expression, and in the brain with great speed a grandiose calculation is being made, in comparison with which the operations of everyone in the world electronic machines- pathetic dilettantism.
Here exemplary scheme events:
1. Am I hungry at all?
(yes, brutally; yes, pretty much; you can; how to say; it’s better not to; no, in no case - underline the necessary);
2. If I want, do I want this particular dish?
(give at least something; I want a lot, and this in particular; only this; this is also acceptable; it would be better not this, but at worst; anything but this - delete unnecessary).
And all this comes to consciousness in the form of one solid internal signal: “yes” or “no” (“I want” or “I don’t want”) ... But that’s not all: before you give the answer “out”, you you have time to match your purely digestive interests with a number of others - it may happen that you really want to eat this dish, but diet or etiquette does not allow; or vice versa, etiquette forces you to eat by force. A few more "what ifs"...
I spent about ten minutes to describe in the most superficial way what happens in the brain in tenths of a second, because we usually answer “want” or “want” without thinking, and I chose this stomach question on purpose, as the simplest.
The fact is that the mechanism that determines the internal “yes” and “no”, “this” or “not that”, etc., is one and universal in its deepest basis. It is the same whether you ask yourself about stomach cravings, the ability to jump over a moat, or to write an article. All this is subconscious self-foresight.
It happens in us all the time.
Here is one model.

PARADOXICAL STATES

Before you is a medium-thick log. You have to go through it. You pass quietly. Again and again - with full confidence.
The log is raised to a height of one and a half meters. You pass ... However ... there is less confidence: once or twice they swayed ...
And here is the log on high altitude. You don't go.
Scary to say the least. But isn't it the same log that you walk on the floor with such ease? After all, it is no longer. You can go freely, you know it!
But knowing is not enough... You no longer believe that you will pass. Do not believe because you are afraid. You are afraid because you do not believe. And if you walk with such fear, you really fall ...
Now for a bit of mental stress: let's try to understand what's going on.
Subjective explanation of the cause of the fall: “Head spinning ... Swayed ...” The physiologist will say that this is the result involuntary movements and changes in the flow of impulses coming from the muscles of the body. This caused the loss of balance.
But why wasn't it on the same log on the floor?
Because the subconscious has its own unconscious logic - both in perception and in action. To express this logic in words in this case can be approximately as follows.
1. “A log... Thick enough to pass... Low... Falling is not dangerous. You can fall... It doesn't matter if you fall or not... You can ignore the probability of falling and go calmly.
2. “Log, all the same log... High! Log plus height!.. Falling from such a height is dangerous. It doesn't matter if you fall or not... You can't fall. Anything, just don't fall... So, this probability should be taken into account as much as possible. I can fall! .. But I can’t ... But I can ... ”
And now the muscles tense up to better hold, vestibular apparatus comes in excited state- just in case, as if you had already begun to fall ... This self-forecast and emotion merge in anticipatory action: you find yourself a victim of involuntary reinsurance.
It turns out a paradox. It is that “cannot fall” that increases the likelihood of falling! Subjective, and as a result, objective! Consciousness persuades: “This will not happen, because this should not be”, the subconscious mind answers: “This should not be, so this can happen ...”

Abstract

The first edition of this book, published in 1973, instantly became a bibliographic rarity and has already been translated into foreign languages. Preparing the second edition, the author, a writer and psychotherapist, known both for books for the mass reader and for scientific works in the field of psychiatry and psychology, continued to engage in medical and scientific work. The book includes new materials about what internal significance is, about the well-being of a person in communication, and others. The main content, as before, is the art of self-control, practical psychotechnics, in an alloy of ancient and modern experience, ancient truths and new ideas. This is a book-healer for everyone and a workshop of internal self-education.

Editorial

Everyone can develop socially useful qualities in himself. You just need to find the right approach to yourself, to unravel the mystery of your "I". Master the art of being yourself.

A real book written by a psychotherapist and a writer can become a good helper in this.

A special place in the book is occupied by the practice of autogenic training, which today attracts keen interest from both specialists and the general reader.

The second edition of the book has been supplemented with new materials: the practical side has been expanded, largely due to psychotherapeutic correspondence. The author tried to select letters and answers that are generally significant, so that it would be easier for the reader to compare with his own experience, in order to master the art of self-knowledge and self-education with the most tangible result.

On the benefits and futility of common truths

1. About the benefits and futility of common truths

That which is most true in the individual, that in which he is himself most of all, is his possible, which his history reveals with indeterminacy.

Paul Valery

The desire for self-improvement has the age of mankind. The range of differences between people is immense, each person is unique. Everyone has their own motivations to change themselves, it's never too late to start. Axioms of self-knowledge. To love yourself means to be demanding of yourself.

Scandal with myself

All the good advice has already been given. All the rules of wisdom and self-control were drawn up long before our era, and nothing significant has been added to them since the time of Marcus Aurelius. The unfortunate fact that so far these recipes have helped few people has many reasons; here are at least two of them:

when people can help themselves, they often don't want to. Many unconsciously seek suffering. Many want to remain childishly helpless;

when people sincerely want to help themselves by taking advantage of someone's hint, for the most part they still don't know how to do it, because every good piece of advice needs a dozen more - how to carry it out.

The most basic difficulty is that some people have poorly developed conscious forces that could control the power of the unconscious in the chosen direction. Our nature still has little confidence in our reason. Therefore, it is very easy to make any reasonable decision about yourself and very difficult to carry it out. Complete agreement between the conscious and the subconscious is no more common than a happy marriage.

These techniques, which basically fall under the concept of "self-hypnosis", are available to anyone who wishes and, most importantly, will give himself time to master them.

We are talking about the elementary technique of dealing with one's "I", about the most basic levers for controlling oneself.

Well, what about you?

Human wisdom, including that which concerns self-management, knows no boundaries of science, art, rites, and everyday life. Actor's methods of getting used to the image, the rules of spells, self-hypnosis, healing and ordinary - you need to be blind not to see that in essence this is one thing. Sometimes, however, to see the general, you have to make some effort. Between modern auto-training (AT), ancient yoga and other old and new ways of spiritual and bodily improvement, there were many similarities, much more than differences, and for the most part these are not borrowings. Of course, there is no panacea and probably will not be, a rigorous science of personality is just beginning. But there is a living stream of thought that everyone can enter, crossroads of knowledge, where people speak about the same thing in different languages.

Thunder won't strike...

No one can be forced to self-improvement either by persuasion, or by threats, or by hypnosis, if he does not have his own inner urges to do so. Imperfection usually catches by surprise. A person begins to notice the insufficiency of his ordinary self-control in difficulties: an increased volume and complexity of work, a tense situation, conflict, illness, age - it is here that it turns out that many seemingly simple things need to be learned or completed: concentration and mobilization, switching and emotional reconfiguration, relaxation, rest, sleep...

Self-management is difficult when it is most needed. The vast majority of people never specifically learn this. Is it any wonder that people come to exams unprepared?

Differences between people

both physical and mental are sometimes greater than the differences between animals of different species. The same person at different times may differ from himself more than from another.

From this it is already clear how difficult it is to create a universal health system. The demand for such systems, however, has always been. There were always offers.

"Development of magnetic force and strengthening of memory", "Volitional gymnastics", "School of self-control", "Willpower in business and everyday life", "Five minutes a day for health", "How to stop worrying and start living" ... - such manuals were published in the past and the century before last, and in the present there are, of course, even more of them. However, even if the system did not help its creator, this does not mean that it is not suitable, as well as about ...
