Norms of security of educational activity. Norm of provision of educational activities with educational publications

LBC (library-bibliographic classifier) was conceived and developed back in the years of the USSR by librarians to solve problems purely within the framework of libraries. However, the LBC has become one of the largest universal classification systems used in many countries of the world.

This article provides two ways to quickly determine or decipher the LBC code.

Below is a list of the initial sections of the LBC classifier. Click on the title of the desired section to determine the LBC code. Or read the article to the end to learn about another way..

The main task of the LBC classifier is to make it as easy as possible for the reader to use library funds by revealing the content of certain printed works and presenting them in the form of a coherent, scientifically based knowledge system.

The LBC classifier is a universal system that has been used since the 1960s. and is relevant in Russia to this day.

LBC tables

BBK are tables designed in the form of a book. The use of LBC is regulated by GOST 7.59-2003.

BBK is used for:

  • systematic placement of library collections;
  • building a system of systematic catalogs and systematic file cabinets;
  • grouping of materials in reference and bibliographic manuals;
  • accounting and statistical analysis;
  • automated search.

LBC tables consist of a set of Arabic numerals, letters of the Russian alphabet, as well as dots, colons, hyphens, parentheses, slashes, a certain sequence and combination of which forms a LBC code, or index. LBC index is mandatory for any published literature and is affixed on the back of the title below the UDC index.

You can get even more information about LBC tables on Wikipedia.

Determine BBK online

You can determine the LBC on the desired topic on many Internet sites. In the very near future, our publishing house will launch its online LBC classifier in the "Publishing Services" section.

It is important to take into account that the classification of LBC codes is updated and refined all the time. On the Internet, you can stumble upon a somewhat truncated or outdated version.

Find out the BBK index quickly and for free

To quickly find out the LBC for the desired topic, use the website elibrary.ru. This is the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) - a scientific electronic library. Just use the search field on the title page of the RSCI to find books on the desired topic and look at their LBC code, which will be indicated in the bibliographic description.

The definition algorithm is as follows:

  • go to the site elibrary.ru;
  • in the Navigator section, click on the Book Catalog line, a search form will appear;
  • enter a keyword or phrase in the Title field, select the current year in the Year list: 2017 to find recent books;
  • specify other parameters if you see fit, and click the Search button;
  • in the list of found books, click on their title one by one until you find a book with LBC.

LBC for books

Our publishing house has entered into an agreement with the Russian State Library (RSL). LBC is assigned by experienced employees of the RSL, so the LBC classification codes for our books are the most relevant and complete.

To publish a work (article, book, dissertation), the author must indicate the thematic section (index) of the existing classifications to which this work belongs, and the author's mark.

The classification indices of the publication are the indices of UDC, LBC and GRNTI.

UDC - Universal Decimal Classification - information classification system. UDC is widely used throughout the world to systematize works of science, literature and art, periodicals, and various types of documents. According to UDC, one can understand the type, type of literature without reading it. The UDC index is an obligatory element of the publication's imprint. In accordance with GOST R 7.0.4–2006 “Editions. Imprint” UDC index should be placed in the upper left corner of the back of the title page. Many scientific journals require a UDC index per article for publication.

To independently determine the UDC indices, you can use the online classifier (free access), for example: UDC Handbook - http://teacode.com/online/udc/;

Universal decimal classification // Scientific journals. Conferences. Monographs: graduate student. – http://www.naukapro.ru/metod.htm .

LBC - Library and Bibliographic Classification - a system of domestic library classification of publications. LBC is designed to organize library collections, catalogs and file cabinets. GOST R 7.0.4–2006 “Editions. Imprint” requires putting the LBC index on the back of the title page in the upper left corner under the UDC index (in a separate line) and in the layout of the annotated catalog card. To independently determine the LBC indices, you can use the reference book of the Electronic Catalog of the Scientific Library of the Moscow State Pedagogical University "Thesaurus (headings)" (free access): http://ecat.lib.mpgu.info/Opac/index.php?url=/matieres.

The BBK index will be reflected in the column "see. also".

SRSTI - State rubricator of scientific and technical information (former name - SSTI Rubricator) is a universal hierarchical classification of knowledge areas adopted to systematize the entire flow of scientific and technical information. On the basis of the Rubricator, a system of local (industry, thematic, problematic) rubricators in scientific and technical information bodies was built. To independently determine the GRNTI index, go to the website: http://grnti.ru/

To obtain UDC, LBC and SRNTI indices of his work, the author can contact the information and bibliographic department of the library: http://library.old.mpgu.org/o-biblioteke/struktura/funkcionalnye-otdely

or leave a request on the Virtual Help Desk website:
