Distance learning pros and cons essay. Distance learning: pros and cons, reviews

Today we will be interested in such a topic as distance learning. The pros and cons of such a system are what you need to know about. After all, this direction in the modern world is beginning to get used to the education system. Can this be allowed? Or will you have to hold on to the "classics" with all your might? What are the disadvantages and advantages of the remote form of learning? Is it really as scary as some people think? All this will have to be thoroughly understood. Otherwise, you can make the wrong decision!

New

The study of the possibilities of distance learning (the pros and cons of this system) has recently become of interest to many. After all, progress does not stand still, every day new theories and devices appear in the world to facilitate modern human life. Moreover, all spheres are captured - including education.

Actually, it's new. She attracts many. After all, you will not need to go to school or university - just appear on the Internet, go through a small authorization, and you can get a lecture or attend a class. Save time for both children and adults. But only teachers, as well as students, were divided into several categories. The former admit that such a system can really help, while the latter refute this. So what are the pros and cons of distance learning for a student? Who and what to believe?

Anytime

Of course, there is no definitive answer. After all, our today's question is the eternal problem of all modern education. In some cases, distance learning can help. And sometimes hurt. Many factors play a role here.

For example, it has the same amount of pluses and minuses, in principle. Only the importance of each area plays a role. Among the advantages of such training is its versatility. No problem, at any time a schoolboy or student will be able to engage in their education. Life immediately becomes easier. Of course, this is a plus. You are not bound by time limits, you can allocate time as you wish. After all, the main thing in our education today is the result. At least absorb all the material in a day, at least stretch it for a week.

self-education

Distance learning has pros and cons. Feedback from teachers, parents and students indicates that self-education plays a huge role in this form of studying the material. In fact, that is exactly what you will be doing. That is, no teachers behind your back, no surveillance and no time limits. On the one hand, this is a plus - you can learn how to use time rationally, better absorb the material. In addition, there are some people who find it easier to learn when no one is watching the process. You can say "with a rod" students.

On the other hand, distance learning requires organization and composure. For example, for young children, such an education is likely to be given with great difficulty - it is difficult for them to concentrate. Especially when there is no control. There are also students who are generally not predisposed to self-education. Such children will have fun all the time, not study.

Anytime and anywhere

The pros and cons of distance education are a moot point. It requires a thorough study of all the nuances. Otherwise, you can draw wrong conclusions. Of course, since this form has been used in Europe for a long time, it means that in Russia, with a well-thought-out system, it will give results.

In addition to the advantages already listed, we can highlight the fact that teaching students at a distance allows you not to miss classes for one reason or another. For example, if a student is sick. You just need to turn on the computer, join the virtual conference - and you can attend the lesson. And this is without harm to health.

It turns out that absenteeism can be kept to a minimum. Yes, there are occasional glitches with the Internet. But you can just check them. But the real truancy - no. Often, it is distance learning that helps, even during a long illness or inability to attend school, to remain in the general flow and keep up with other students.

Situation

Another plus, which, as a rule, does not stand out much, is learning in a comfortable environment. Often children just don't want to go to school. They feel uncomfortable there. In this case, there can be no question of any effectiveness of training.

But if the material is absorbed better at home, then DO is an excellent choice. It will not only allow you to engage in self-education and always stay in touch, but will not cause any discomfort. You can create the most convenient conditions for learning for yourself, and then just listen to lectures and lessons.

True, parents will still have to monitor younger students in this case. They still do not know how to concentrate and engage in self-education. Perhaps distance learning is more suitable for middle and high school. Children who can already consciously control their activities and do what is necessary.

the freedom of action

Distance learning has many pros and cons. It can be said that each advantage has its antipode-disadvantage. And vice versa. Speaking about school distance learning, among the minuses, complete freedom of action is often singled out. Indeed, if the child is not followed, he is likely to abandon his studies altogether. So the pros and cons of distance learning for schoolchildren are a very controversial issue.

An online seminar is extremely difficult to control. Of course, if the distance education system in schools is developed and thought out to the smallest detail (how to control children, conduct testing, and so on), then this form will give visible progress and maximum results. Otherwise, distance education will simply further alienate children from the educational process.

Convenience

The pros and cons of distance learning (in English, Russian or any other language) can be discussed indefinitely. But the main advantage of this form of knowledge acquisition is convenience. It doesn't matter for what reasons - whether it's freedom of time and action or saving time. Teaching and learning in this way is simply convenient.

Especially for teachers, this option is most suitable. You can not break away from your own affairs, as well as engage in part-time jobs during the lesson. For example, if such a form of education is introduced, women on maternity leave will no longer need to take vacations. You can easily look after the baby and teach students at the same time at school. Everything is easy and simple. And most importantly - convenient! Yes, it is important to work out the education system at a distance. But this does not negate the fact that such a technique will make learning accessible to everyone - both for students and teachers!

Educational materials

What are the pros and cons of distance learning? To be honest, the advantages of this education system are much easier to describe. Yes, you can see them with the naked eye. Of course, with the correct implementation of the process.

For example, another advantage is the availability of training materials. In electronic form, you can read any textbook or abstract. All the information, if necessary, will be given to you by the Internet. This is additional material. No need to spend a lot of time and money on buying and searching for textbooks, manuals and other study notes.

By the way, distance learning will save children from the mass of books in their bags. Now even a first grader's portfolio sometimes weighs so much that it's scary to think how children go to school like that! All this has a negative impact on health. And electronic textbooks weigh nothing at all. Yes, and in the classroom to say that you forgot the training manual at home will no longer work. There is access to the network - which means that all the material will be at your fingertips!

"Tower"

As you can see, our current system has many pros and cons. If it is well worked out, then only advantages will remain. Unfortunately, no educational system has been developed so well yet. But such a possibility is not excluded.

If we talk about the education of older people, here the distance form has become extremely popular. It is actively used. You will be able to study and receive higher education (and even several) without interrupting your daily life, work and family. These are all great opportunities. Thus, you can live in one city, and study in another. And without even breaking your habitual way. The choice of universities that provide distance learning is increasing every year.

In addition, this form differs in cost. The cost of distance learning is less. This means that you can get a higher education without any problems and at affordable prices. So do not think that the absence of a personality within the walls of an educational university is bad. Not at all.

As you can see, distance learning has a variety of pros and cons at school and at the university. There are many pluses. But there are also enough shortcomings. It is recommended to use this form if the child studies better on his own (predisposed to self-education), and also when it is not possible to attend classes at school. Remember, with the correct organization of the educational process, only pluses will remain from distance education. But as a "tower" is now a great choice!

Getting an education is one of the important stages in a person’s life, helping him not only develop comprehensively, but also choose a certain narrow specialization that suits his liking the most, so that in the future, using experience, to earn money.

But no matter how important it is for a person, at this stage one cannot do without difficulties. Many face problems such as lack of money, time and lack of decent educational institutions where one could get a quality education. The latter is due to the fact that the largest part of the population is concentrated in the European part of Russia, and these are Moscow and St. Petersburg - the two main capitals, whose universities employ highly qualified teachers who provide real knowledge and a base that can be applied in the future. But, for example, people living in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug simply do not have the opportunity to come to these or other large cities in Russia. What should they do if they are hungry for good knowledge? And what if there is added poor material support and an absolute lack of free time?

In this case, many choose distance education. Distance education is education at a distance. This method has become available due to the development of the Internet. Now the teacher and the student do not have to contact each other face-to-face, because this need is replaced by the Internet connection.

Those who are interested in obtaining such an education are probably interested in knowing its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of distance learning

First, as already mentioned, distance learning is a good way to get an education. with limited finances. Comparing the usual full-time form of education and distance learning, when choosing the latter, you save quite a tidy sum.

Secondly, this way of learning allows you to study at any time when it is convenient for you, because all the materials are sent to you by mail or posted on the website at a certain time, and when you go through them and practice your knowledge, you decide for yourself. This is very convenient, especially if you have a main job.

Thirdly, you choose your place of study: whether it's a cafe, work, park or just home.

Also, the advantages of distance learning include the fact that it gives real knowledge. Reviewing the traditional education system in Russia, it becomes clear that a person will not receive a good education if he himself does not want it. Turning to the topic of distance learning, it is worth noting that now he himself needs to go through the material, and, as you know, when he independently studies and searches for the necessary information, the things that need to be learned fit into his head, which gives an incomparable advantage.

In addition, the student will never have problems with an insufficient amount of material, reference books and textbooks, because he receives everything he needs on the Internet. The following advantage follows from this - in order to consult with a tutor, it is not necessary to make an in-person meeting, because you can find out everything you need by simply writing to him by e-mail.

Tests and exams held at universities make you worry, because they will be taken by a strict teacher, who can not be passed the first time. With distance learning, this problem is a thing of the past, because in order for the teacher to understand whether you have mastered the topic, you just need to take an online test in a relaxed home environment. Isn't that a clear advantage?

And finally, it is always difficult for teachers to assess the abilities of each student in a group, but with distance education, he has every opportunity to “squeeze” the maximum out of you, taking into account your qualities.

Disadvantages of distance learning

After such advantages, the disadvantages may seem insignificant, but they are still inherent in this form of education.

For example, the same remote communication between a teacher and a student can affect the memorization of the necessary information in a completely different way. In the process of the teacher's gestures, showing his emotions and actions, the student's brain better remembers the information offered. With distance learning, you will have to make more efforts to assimilate.

Also, this training not suitable for lazy people, because a person must have self-discipline in order to sit at the computer after work, study and complete test tasks.

In addition, for people who perfectly express their thoughts aloud, distance learning can not only not help, but, on the contrary, exacerbate the situation, because basically all exams are held in writing. At the same time, the teacher cannot evaluate the independent mental activity of a person.

Another significant drawback is lack of scientific personnel who could develop such a system, improve it, because most Russians adhere to traditional teaching methods, respectively, distance education is developing slowly, not giving the full knowledge that could be obtained with full-time education at the institute.

conclusions

Thus, distance learning is a specific means of obtaining education. This is not ideal for absolutely all people, but many can benefit from this experience in practice.

Education is an essential condition for a successful career. But not every person can afford to enter a prestigious university for full-time or part-time education, as this requires considerable financial costs.

In addition, factors such as work, the need to provide for the family, health, as well as the geographical remoteness of the university from the student's permanent residence may prevent obtaining a diploma in this way. So what to do?

In this age of digital technology and the Internet, you can get a higher education without leaving your home. The distance learning system will help you with this.

What it is?

Distance education is learning at a remote distance without the need to visit a university in person.

A student and a teacher, who is called a tutor, may be on different continents, but this does not interfere with the educational process.

Most often, this form of education is chosen by people who want to get a second education or improve their skills, and already have a certain knowledge base in their chosen specialty. But you can, as they say, start learning from scratch.

After completing the course of study, a document is issued that has the same legal force as a regular diploma obtained after graduation.

The term of study depends on the chosen specialty and is 3.5-5 years. It can vary significantly depending on the intensity of your study schedule, as you yourself choose an individual study program.

It should be noted that not all specialties can be mastered through distance learning. For example, you can not learn to be a doctor without attending a university to gain practical knowledge. Most often, distance education courses include specialties related to information technology and commerce.

Now let's find out in more detail how this learning happens?

Each student on the website of his university has his personal page, where teachers send manuals, textbooks and necessary teaching materials for self-study of the subject, as well as tasks, after which the student must send them for verification to the teacher.

All tests, tests and exams are taken in the same way. The instructor then also e-mails the student his grade or sends back his work for correction of errors.

There are several types of distance learning technologies:

  1. Case technology. It involves the use of paper media in the form of workbooks, which the tutor regularly checks. The interaction between the student and the teacher in this case is carried out using mail transfers or personal meetings in training centers.
  2. Television and satellite technology. It is very rarely used because of the high cost and lack of technical ability for students to use it. Its main drawback is the lack of feedback between the tutor and the student.
  3. Network technology or internet learning.

Most often, distance education includes all these three technologies, but in different proportions. Of course, the use of the Internet dominates the educational process, but students also receive CDs with educational materials and lectures.

Like all forms of education, distance education also has its advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages include:

  • Opportunity to study at any university in the world. Regardless of your geographic location and time zone, you can get all the knowledge you need from the comfort of your home. This is especially important for people with disabilities, as well as for those who live in regions where there is no opportunity to get an education due to the lack of suitable higher education institutions. Even mothers who take care of their young children and persons serving sentences in places of detention can receive a diploma of graduation in this way.
  • The cost of distance learning is much lower than full-time or part-time, as there is no personal contact with teachers, for example, to listen to lectures, which means that you do not need to pay for their working hours. In addition, you do not need to travel to another city or country to study at a university and, thus, you save on travel and accommodation.
  • Flexible learning schedule. Each student decides for himself how much time he needs to spend on studying this subject, and, based on this, he calculates the duration of his studies. In addition, in some universities you can postpone studying for a long time and return to it later without having to re-pay.
  • The opportunity to study in any place convenient for you without interrupting your main activity. This means that you can study even during breaks at work, and you don't need to take time off to pass the next tests or exams. You can even listen to lectures or complete assignments while sitting at home on a comfortable sofa, or while on vacation in distant lands.
  • Fast and efficient interaction between student and teacher. Most often, communication between them is carried out using the Internet, so the student always has the opportunity to ask a question of interest to him and quickly get an answer to it, and there is no need to make an appointment in person.
  • The use of modern technologies in the educational process.
  • Availability of educational materials. It happens that universities do not have enough textbooks and various manuals, so you have to buy them. With distance education, all the necessary educational materials are in electronic form, so students always have everything they need to gain knowledge in full.
  • Calm environment. The student experiences less stress when passing tests and passing tests and exams, since there is no personal contact with the tutor, and he does not need to think about what impression he makes on the teacher.

There are also disadvantages to this form of education. These include:

  • Strong self-discipline and strong motivation. Russian people are prone to laziness. In distance education, it is very important to tune in to study on your own, but for some people it is difficult to do this without outside help. The student must have good willpower and self-discipline in order to complete all tasks on time, since this form of training, although it has a flexible schedule, still has mandatory checkpoints that must be completed on time.
  • Lack of practical knowledge. Distance education cannot give the student practical skills in the chosen specialty.
  • Lack of personal contact with the teacher and fellow students. This can be a negative moment for people who like to communicate live, and not via the Internet. In addition, some students are much better at memorizing educational material by ear when the teacher gives a lecture, rather than cramming it from textbooks.
  • You need constant access to the Internet and sources of information. Not all people who want to receive distance education have the possibility of constant access to the Internet, and some do not even have a computer.
  • Insufficient computer literacy. In order to fully obtain all the necessary knowledge, the student must be technically savvy and understand the use of online computer programs in order to take part in online lectures on an equal basis with everyone else and use everything necessary for learning.
  • Some distance education courses and programs are of poor quality and do not meet all requirements. This is due to the lack of sufficient skill level of the people who develop these tutorials.
  • Not all employers recognize a distance education diploma.
  • Problem with student identification. It is difficult for teachers to track whether a student independently completes all tasks, passes tests or not. Therefore, for the final certification, the student will still have to come to the university or its branches to take the exam in person.
  • All teaching is in writing. Many people find it much easier to present what they have learned orally than in writing. Because of this, problems may arise when performing tasks.

Unfortunately, today not all universities have a distance form of education. This greatly limits the possibility of obtaining a diploma in the educational institution you like. However, the number of institutes and universities supporting this form of education is growing every day. After all, new technologies are our future.

MBOU secondary school №2 Nogliki

Pros and cons of distance education

Kunevich Elena Leonidovna

2018

A good school is good, a smart school is great, but the child must also be prepared for life.

D. Dewey.

The high rates of informatization of education, the development of telecommunication technologies and, first of all, the global Internet open up many new opportunities for children with special needs in obtaining education. And, of course, one of the most effective forms here is distance learning. It is this form of education that allows you to study at any convenient time, without leaving your home, at any distance from an educational institution, is especially relevant in working with disabled children, for whom physical illnesses are often an insurmountable barrier to education.

The use of distance learning at school is an additional way to ensure the continuity and required intensity of the educational process, cooperation between teachers and students. Distance learning is based on pedagogical technologies of multi-tempo learning, independence in self-education of schoolchildren in various educational areas, a combination of various forms and methods of interaction between a teacher and a student.

The relevance of the problem of teaching children with disabilities is due to the specifics of the current educational situation. Quality education remains largely inaccessible to the majority of children with disabilities, despite the fact that recently, approaches to the education of children with disabilities have changed. Teaching a child at home often leads to the fact that he is afraid of communicating with other children, becomes withdrawn. As a result, the limited social contacts and the poverty of social experience create a difficulty in the formation of social and communicative competence in children with disabilities, which negatively affects their socialization. Very often, disabled children are afraid of various obstacles and difficulties, they are afraid of contact with people. Their increased anxiety, self-doubt and inability to establish communicative relationships create barriers between a disabled child and the outside world.

Targets and goals:

To analyze the work of MBOU secondary school No. 2 in the distance learning system. To identify positive and negative trends in organizing a full-fledged secondary education for children with disabilities through the integration of full-time and distance learning.

Increasing the motivation of students who do not attend educational institutions for health reasons by organizing creative, research, practice-oriented courses, as well as creating an environment for communication, socialization and professional orientation of schoolchildren.

Expected results:

Improving the quality of training for students who are homeschooled.

Creating conditions that allow students at home to successfully implement the school curriculum.

From the conditions in which a child is from a very early age, his future largely depends. The development of a person, the formation of his personality depend on the beneficial influence of the family, on the desire of parents to know the features of the development of children in each age period, on the desire to study their child, on the ability to direct the process of forming his personality.

It would never occur to anyone to prepare to become a disabled person himself or to prepare his relatives for this fate. But, unfortunately, no one is immune from temporary or permanent disability, from injury, injury, serious illness or the birth of an unhealthy child.

According to statistics, every tenth family faces the problem of disability of a loved one during their life. Cases of severe illness in children are especially hard to experience in the family. The viability of the child himself largely depends on what strategy of behavior in relationships with a disabled child parents choose.

For a child with disabilities, school is one of the important factors of socialization, as well as an important symbol of health and a fulfilling life. Therefore, in the representation of children with disabilities about their future, the school occupies a significant place.

Often, children with disabilities have developmental deviations associated with overstrain of the child's nervous system, as well as various painful conditions of the nervous system - neuroses.

A significant part of children with disabilities have difficulties in mastering the program material associated with a violation of the development of speech and the peculiarities of their mental activity.

In many children with developmental disabilities, difficulties in learning activities may be due to the lack of formation of visual-motor coordination, that is, they have inconsistent work of the hand and eye. Often there is an unformed spatial analysis and synthesis. Such children find it difficult to differentiate the left and right sides, to add the whole from parts. They cannot follow the lines in the notebooks, distinguish between the right and left sides, they are poorly oriented in the notebook space.

When teaching children with disabilities, one of the most important conditions for a teacher is to understand that these children are not defective compared to others. But, nevertheless, these children need a special individual approach, different from the framework of a standard comprehensive school, in realizing their potential and creating conditions for development. The key point of this situation is that children with disabilities do not adapt to the rules and conditions of society, but are included in life on their own terms, which society accepts and takes into account.

Distance learning is the best way to ensure that a child with a disability receives a quality education. These children need an individual approach.

Teaching children with disabilities through distance forms allows each child to be provided with a high-quality education, regardless of the specific place of study. Acquiring knowledge with the help of the information computer environment provides the child with the opportunity to acquire the appropriate professional skills necessary for him in the future both for work and for a decent existence in general. In practice, it has been repeatedly proven that learning through distance learning technologies makes it possible for children with disabilities to receive appropriate education, as well as to fully master the basic general education program of secondary general education. Advantages of distance learning Here, a network teacher and tutor (teacher-consultant) will be able to conduct lessons using a special technological map, which is used as a mechanism for individualizing the educational process through a variety of individually-oriented models of organization and curriculum, and a lesson (depending on educational needs and opportunities for this category of students). The primary task of education here is the preservation of the individuality of the child, as well as the creation of suitable conditions for his self-expression. This can be achieved through differentiated teaching, which takes into account the degree of assimilation of knowledge by the student, the pace of his activity and the development of certain skills and abilities.

What conditions need to be created in educational institutions for children with disabilities? They must guarantee such opportunities as:

1. Achievement of the planned results in relation to the development by all students of the basic educational program of primary general education.

2. The use of both conventional and specific assessment scales for the academic achievements of children with disabilities that correspond to their educational needs.

3. The adequacy of the assessment of the rate of variability in the life competence of each child with disabilities along with other students, as well as parents (or legal representatives) and school employees.

4. Individualization of the educational process with regards to children with disabilities.

5. The purposefulness of developing the ability of this category of students to interact and communicate with peers.

6. Development and identification of the abilities of children with disabilities through sections, circles, clubs and studios, as well as the organization of socially useful activities, including social practice, while using the possibilities of existing educational institutions of additional education.

7. Involvement of students with disabilities in creative and intellectual competitions allowed by them, design and research activities and scientific and technical creativity.

8. Involving children with disabilities, parents and teachers in the process of developing the basic educational program of primary general education, as well as in designing the internal social environment and creating individual learning routes.

9. The use of advanced, evidence-based correctional technologies within the framework of the educational process, which are focused on the special educational needs of students with disabilities.

10. Interaction in the same educational space of both a general education and a special school, which will allow the productive use of many years of pedagogical experience regarding the education of children with disabilities, as well as the use of resources created specifically for this.

"Pros" of distance learning

Children with disabilities who are individually educated at home, thanks to the priority national project "Distance Education for Disabled Children", have a unique opportunity to learn using computer technology and communication.

Distance learning minimizes the unproductive use of a student's time. The child does not wait for the teacher to write sentences on the board for analysis; an electronic laboratory experiment will always pass clearly, according to a given scenario; search engines allow you to quickly find the materials you need. This allows you to master the educational material in a shorter time than with the class-lesson system.

The system supports the exchange of files of any format - both between a teacher and a student, and between students. The mailing service allows you to quickly inform all course participants or individual groups about current events. The forum provides an opportunity to organize an educational discussion of problems, while the discussion can be carried out in groups. Files of any format can be attached to messages in the forum. There is a function of evaluation of messages - both teachers and students. Chat allows you to organize an educational discussion of problems in real time, to hold a "class meeting" or consultation. All this allows the teacher to quickly respond to student requests, control and correct his work.

Due to the interactive style of communication and operational communication in distance learning, it is possible to individualize the learning process. The teacher, depending on the success of the student, can apply a flexible, individual teaching methodology, offer him additional, student-oriented blocks of educational materials, links to information resources. Since the time factor (40 minutes of the lesson) becomes non-critical, the student can also choose his own pace of learning the material, i.e. can work according to an individual program, coordinated with the general program of the course.

In distance learning, the teacher leads each student by the hand. A special learning environment allows you to comment on each student's work, give recommendations for correcting mistakes - work with each child until the learning task is completely solved.

An important feature of the special learning environment is that it creates and stores reports on the activities (portfolio) of each child: all the work submitted by him, all grades and comments of the teacher on the work, all messages in the forum.

The benefits of distance learning are almost limitless, and the virtual environment helps to overcome barriers. After all, the main thing is to want to overcome them, because the insurmountable barriers are those that we put forward ourselves.

The limited resources of the curriculum of individual education (no more than 10 hours in the basic school, 12 hours in the 10-11th grades) lead to a reduction in the curriculum, which makes it difficult to implement the state educational standard and leads to educational inequality in the choice of vocational education, moves away from higher education and professional activities of some capable children. Teaching a child at home often leads to his isolation from the children's team, the formation of pathological isolation in the child, unwillingness and fear of communicating with other children. Often, children with disabilities cannot leave the house, not only because of the lack of a ramp to leave the apartment, but also because of the fear of facing various obstacles and various people in the “big world”.

Currently, distance education is often called one of the most modern forms of knowledge acquisition. This form of education is becoming increasingly popular. At the same time, distance educational technologies are understood as educational technologies implemented mainly with the use of information and telecommunication technologies with indirect (at a distance) or not fully mediated interaction between the student and the teacher.

Distance learning technologies allow not only to improve and improve the quality of education by increasing the teaching load by 5-6 hours, but also gives disabled children the opportunity of virtual communication, acquaintance and exchange of opinions in a computer network, i.e. will promote their integration into society through Internet technologies. For a child with disabilities, this opens the way to a new world, makes it possible to realize themselves and their needs, to overcome their loneliness.

In the DO center, the child can communicate with a psychologist. The psychologist, in turn, not only works with the child, but also with the parents. With the help of such consultations, parents not only receive free qualified assistance from a psychologist and identify the psychological problems of the child, but also solve these problems. The child has the opportunity to enroll in various training courses and independently or under the guidance of teachers and parents, study them, prepare for exams.

The technical support includes the Archimedes kit, an electron microscope with which he can conduct various experiments in physics, chemistry, biology.

The DL Center provides students with a large selection of various electronic resources in all subjects.

The teacher during the lesson can use any of them, either fully or partially. And also make up your own tasks, tests, depending on the needs and capabilities of the student.

The teacher can create and use any grading system within the course. All marks for each course are stored in a consolidated electronic sheet.

A special learning environment allows you to control the "attendance", the activity of the student, the time of his educational work at each lesson.

The Distance Education Center provides a safe Internet space for the child. Parents may not worry that their child will visit "unnecessary sites", make dubious acquaintances, play games.

Distance education undoubtedly has its advantages over traditional forms of education. It solves the psychological problems of the student, removes temporal and spatial restrictions, problems of remoteness from educational institutions, helps people with physical disabilities with individual traits and extraordinary features to study, expands the communicative sphere of students and teachers.

The child has the opportunity to participate in various competitions, video conferences. Writers and artists are often invited to videoconferences. During conferences, the child can ask questions and receive qualified answers. Communicate with conference participants.

The process of learning using the Internet is aimed at developing students' skills of independent active learning with a high level of its effectiveness. For students with disabilities, this factor is largely significant, since in the conditions of the irreversibility of the disease, the student will be forced to independently receive education all his life, first in the chosen specialty, and then to improve his professional qualifications.

Distance education allows children isolated from society to fully embrace its values, realize their creative potential, form a professional orientation and develop important qualities for future professional activities.

Distance education allows children who live in remote areas and who do not have the opportunity to travel to the place of study to receive vocational education.

"Cons" of distance education.

Distance learning is a very popular form of education, which is increasingly used in the modern education system. Most sources talk about the advantages of distance learning, while everyone prefers to remain silent about the disadvantages. If you decide to choose such a learning path as distance learning, then you need to know what disadvantages you will have to face.

In distance learning, the personal contact of students with each other and with teachers is minimal, if not completely absent. Therefore, this form of training is not suitable for developing communication skills, confidence, teamwork skills.

Lack of psychological motivation and possible difficulties if it is difficult to motivate yourself on your own. Often, what parents and teachers want, children do not want. They need real contact, not virtual.

The lack of control over the learning process, which is necessary for some students so that they can gain knowledge. Often during training, when there are no parents or guardians, the child cannot organize himself.

The teacher should study the child's capabilities, know the characteristics of his illness, be able to determine the level of tension, anxiety, and exacerbation of the symptoms of the disease by his behavior. Respond to such symptoms in time, help the child cope with such a condition at a distance. This requires special training of the teacher.

Technical capabilities such as Internet access. Often during classes, the connection is lost or its speed is so unstable that the lesson has to be postponed. Which is not desirable for both the teacher and the student. Since the regime of classes and rest of the child is violated, as well as the schedule of his extracurricular activities.

Software crash during class. Incorrect operation of various equipment.

It is difficult to get practical knowledge and skills.

There are no universal courses that take into account the capabilities of all students. Courses are developed by teachers. Each course developed by the teacher is designed for the capabilities of the child with whom he studied, and does not take into account the capabilities of other children. Therefore, for each lesson, it is necessary to prepare additional material. A teacher who relies only on ready-made courses cannot conduct a full-fledged lesson with a child.

Lack of computer literacy narrows the circle of those who can study remotely. It is very important that parents are computer literate. Often, after the child has experimented with the settings of various programs, the intervention of a competent specialist is necessary. Unfortunately, the technicians from the CDO are heavily loaded and there is no need to hope for quick help.

Conclusion

Despite the presence of disadvantages, it is still necessary to remember that distance learning also has advantages, which is why it has become so popular.

This type of education is undesirable in the case of basic education in the school system, since it is not able to provide full knowledge. At the same time, it is great as an additional training, as courses for obtaining additional skills, the realization of the child's personal competencies.

The task of distance learning is to take into account the opportunities and interests of each student with disabilities, to assist in obtaining individual education, which will combine various forms of education, including distance learning. Also, it is necessary to ensure the development of creative abilities, cultural development, skills of independent activity, socialization. Education should be aimed at ensuring that every child with disabilities can adapt in life. Involving parents in the activities of children will enable families of children with disabilities to learn about the possibilities of the Internet, feel more confident and, ultimately, overcome the difficulties that are typical for many families raising children with disabilities.

Thus, we can conclude that students are not passive "consumers" of knowledge, but act as active participants in the educational process, gain experience in interpersonal interaction. The main role is played by the personal qualities of students, their abilities, the desire to gain knowledge, while physical disabilities fade into the background. As a result, the inclusion of a disabled child in a virtual community allows him to realize himself as a subject of activity in the information educational space, contributes to the formation of an adequate attitude to reality, the need for cooperation, overcoming isolation, the development of communicative potential and the formation of "life competence". Distance learning enables children with disabilities to realize their potential to a greater extent, lead an active life, and increase self-confidence.

Such training is determined by their psychophysiological characteristics and involves a change in pedagogical communications and the creation of new didactic tools, which allows you to plan an individual training schedule in accordance with the problems and diseases of the child.

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. Distance learning is in danger of becoming a fairly popular form of education, but this is not an ideal thing, about the pros and cons of distance learning in this article and I would like to talk. It seemed to me that I named the disadvantages of distance learning in the article, but now I re-read it and saw that the disadvantages are named implicitly there, therefore it will not work to limit myself to listing only the advantages. But it doesn't matter, everything will be divided into 2 points and listed in the form of a list, so it will be quite convenient for you.

Let's go from minuses to pluses, so the first paragraph of the article will be about the minuses.

Disadvantages of distance learning

Many probably believe that there can be no pluses, but only minuses of distance learning. Or vice versa, someone thinks that distance learning is an ideal form of education, where there are no disadvantages. I want to disappoint both the first and second, there are pluses and minuses. Let's go slowly and enumerate.

The list of cons is attached.

So the cons:

  1. The need to understand that higher education, even in this form, is necessary for you, and not for teachers. So, you have to force yourself to do the work early. Yes, with regular (primarily full-time) education, you also need to do everything on time, but there you at least regularly see teachers who do not forget to remind you that it would be nice to study and pass this or that work. With distance learning, teachers can be on the other side of the country's geography and you will not have any connection with them, only the curator will occasionally send various kinds of letters to e-mail. Teachers will not write to you, at best they will answer your question or say that the work has been accepted for such and such an assessment or not accepted.
  2. In continuation of what the teachers at best will answer you. They may also not respond, lose your work email, and so on. It never adds to the joy.
  3. If you are hoping to develop your communication skills, then distance learning will not help you in any way. All lectures are held in the format "here I am, here is the computer, and I'm listening to it." Sometimes you can write something in the chat, and the teacher will answer the question or not answer. You can talk with the teacher at most on the defense of the term paper and on the State exam (at the state exams). Communication with classmates is not at all the same as in full-time education. All students are from different cities and you are unlikely to succeed in sitting in the company of classmates. Well, if you went to study with someone you knew before, then you will communicate with him. With other classmates, communication only through VK, WhatsApp or some other applications that do not involve communication other than written communication will not be possible.
  4. A point that contradicts one of the pluses, namely the plus "the opportunity to study in remote regions." This is not entirely true, since good Internet is required for learning, which can not be found in all small towns, not to mention villages.
  5. Practical knowledge. I don’t know, maybe I haven’t studied enough yet and there will be real practice further, but so far the practice is limited to research projects that have nothing to do with practice in the workplace. Perhaps there will be a real practice further, but for some reason I doubt it.
  6. The level of knowledge obtained remotely. Of course, the advertisements will write that distance learning is very effective, but it is not. It loses to the usual face-to-face training and very much.

So, I have listed the disadvantages, which from the outside may not seem too scary, it's time to move on to the advantages of distance learning.

Advantages of distance learning

It's difficult here.

It's hard to compare things so different.

Comparing full-time and distance learning, it was very difficult for me to find the advantages of distance learning, but I found it, here they are:

  1. The ability to independently decide when to do control, term papers and other work. In 90% of cases this will be the last week before the session, so I don’t know if this is a plus or a minus. But let's assume that freedom is a plus.
  2. Ability to decide where to study. But again, if you do not write advertising, but simply take a sober look at things, then it becomes obvious that you will study at home. In no office will you be allowed to do your own business, I also found a pearl that you can study in places of deprivation of liberty. It causes nothing but laughter, although I myself was not involved, but I can roughly imagine what it is like to study in the zone. Another cool thing is that you can study anywhere in the world, yeah. So imagine that you flew away from frost, snow and other things to a hot country in winter, where you can bask, sunbathe, swim, and so on, but instead you sit in your room and write a term paper.
  3. The ability to watch webinars as much as you want, do tasks at a pace that is convenient for you. It's true, there is such a possibility.
  4. The theoretical possibility to contact the teacher or curator at any time. I emphasize theoretical, they may even lose the completed work, to say nothing of the possibility or impossibility of simply contacting and asking a question. During the session - it is still possible, then rather not.
  5. You can study at home in a calm and familiar environment. You do not need to transport your body early in the morning through traffic jams to the university, just turn on the PC. Then, by simple actions, you get to a lecture or you can write a control / term paper.
  6. As you already understood, I copy part of the article from another article, there is another amazing plus - an individual approach to students. Like, the teacher can give each student as much attention as he needs and answer all his questions. No, it's fantasy. This does not happen, it is more likely that you will find a teacher in a university and ask him a question than do it remotely.
  7. The library, albeit virtual, is always at hand. This is true, very convenient, you can at any time get acquainted with any book that you need for learning.
  8. The cost of distance learning is lower than full-time in a similar specialty. But do not forget that you can study full-time on a budgetary basis, that is, do not pay a penny, but also receive a scholarship. And you can get a lot, how to achieve it, read the link.

There were more pluses than minuses, while I did not rewrite the completely absurd pluses from advertising. But look at these pluses, most of them can be easily challenged, so there may be 2-3 real pluses, no more.

In conclusion, I would like to say that first higher education should be obtained on a full-time basis, or at least on, but not on a distance basis. The second, third and further you can already receive as you please. See you on the blog pages site
