Where to apply to take the Unified State Exam. Application for participation in the exam

The deadline for accepting documents for taking the Unified State Exam will end on February 1. The head of the general education department of the regional Ministry of Education and Science, Irina Drozdova, told us when and how to correctly submit documents to graduates of all years and what to do if you were unable to do this before February 1, 2018.

Anna Zaikova

1 When will the Unified State Exam be held in 2018?

Traditionally, the unified state exam will be held in three stages: early, main and additional. The early stage is from March 21 to April 11, the main stage is from May 28 to July 2, the additional stage is from September 4 to 15.

2 At what stage should I take it?

Mostly graduates of previous years take the early and additional stages. In order to pass the Unified State Exam ahead of schedule, current graduates must obtain permission from the pedagogical council. It is given if the student has no academic debts and has completed the curriculum in full.

3 Where to apply for the Unified State Exam?

If you are graduating this year, please apply to your school. Graduates of previous years and graduates of secondary professional organizations (SVE) and those who study in other countries submit applications to the educational authorities at their place of residence.

4 What documents will be needed?

Students of vocational schools will need a passport and a certificate from the place of study stating that they have completed the level of secondary general education, and graduates of previous years will need a school certificate and passport. Those who graduated from school outside of Russia, in addition to the school certificate, must provide its notarized translation.

5 Can I apply or make changes to selected items after February 1st?

It is possible, but it is a labor-intensive process. Changes to the database of Unified State Exam participants are made only by decision of the state certification commission of the region. To apply after February 1, the test taker must have a certificate showing good cause. For example, a serviceman who was in the army before February 1. Then he provides a document stating when he was demobilized, and the commission makes a decision. But this must be no later than two weeks before the exam, because the documents are reviewed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.

6 What if I can’t bring the documents myself?

Your parents can do this for you. But in this case, you need a notarized power of attorney, which confirms that someone has the right to register and submit an application for the participant.

7 What subjects are required?

Russian language and mathematics. If a graduate needs these subjects only for a certificate, then he can choose a basic level. If one of the subjects is required for admission to a university, then you need to take a specialized level.

8 How do I select other items to submit?

To correctly decide on the subject, find the list of required subjects on the website of the university you are going to enroll in. If you need to pass a creative exam at university or, for example, undergo a medical examination at a military school, to be on the safe side, you still need to choose the subject that you will take for the Unified State Exam. So that there is a backup option for entering another specialty if you are not accepted where you were going.

More detailed information about the dates and locations of the Unified State Exam and the Unified State Exam in 2018 can be found.

Every year, the most discussed issues among schoolchildren are those related to future changes in the rules for organizing the unified state exam and its retake.

This trend is quite natural, because this is the most important stage in the life of every graduate, which largely determines his prospects for the next few years. Everyone who cares about their future begins to prepare for the Unified State Exam in advance, trying to find out all the details of the upcoming event.

Adding to the uncertainty is the fact that the Ministry of Education adjusts the exam procedure almost every year and makes constant changes to its program. The coming 2019 was also no exception.

Upon completion of the curriculum, schoolchildren will be treated to some innovations approved by a special government commission, which must be familiarized with in advance.

Thus, anyone who wants to be well prepared for the future test will face the additional task of studying the new initiatives of education officials.

The importance of the Unified State Exam for a graduate

The state exam is not just a condition for a graduate to receive a high school diploma, but also a kind of ticket to a successful adult life.

The main confirmation of this is the conditions for admission to a higher educational institution, according to which the applicant must have satisfactory Unified State Examination results in several specialized subjects at once.

The points earned by a graduate during the state exam reflect the level of his knowledge and preparation. The better the Unified State Examination result, the higher the applicant rises in the competition for the best place at the university.

This point is especially important for those graduates who plan to obtain a specialty on a budgetary basis, receiving a stipend for their work. Such schoolchildren begin preparing for the final test from the beginning of the tenth grade.

They attend not only scheduled lessons, but also take additional courses, work with tutors and study some subjects in depth. Parents of such children devote all their efforts and resources to find the best specialists who can improve the level of knowledge of their children.

Sometimes even the titanic efforts of mothers and fathers to obtain a satisfactory result are not enough and the child fails. The reasons for this can be different: nerves, superficial knowledge or simple bad luck.

In this case, the only option for everyone is to retake the Unified State Exam. This is a lifeboat for those who could not board the ship heading into the ocean of independent life.

How will the retake take place?

Government innovations could not ignore such an important point as retaking the unified state exam. Although these innovations can be considered more likely to be positive factors that can significantly simplify the task of a “failed” graduate.

According to the rules established by the Ministry of Education, schoolchildren will have access to a retake not only, but also all others according to which the exam will be held. You will be able to take advantage of the second attempt in only one discipline.

Graduates of previous years, as well as anyone who has been convicted of violations, are not allowed to retake. If a student missed the exam time, but can prove a valid reason for his absence, then he can count on two additional attempts: during the autumn session and on a reserve day.

It is also possible to begin acquiring a profession already in the 2019-2010 season at faculties that have a serious shortage and are ready to accept a “belated” student.

Features of work evaluation

When completing examination tasks, the student strives to score the maximum number of points, which in the future are converted into the final result, based on a certain scale. It is not yet known whether officials will make changes to this table.

Most likely, the already familiar point system will remain, by which the future prospects of graduates will be determined.

The minimum score is a limiting result that entitles the student to receive an official document on graduation from a general education institution.

Fulfilling this condition will not be difficult: to do this, you just need to have basic knowledge of the subjects. As a rule, the vast majority of students score this number of points the first time.

A passing score is the threshold result for admission to a certain higher education institution.

Before the start of state exams, each university posts information on the official page about the number of points that an applicant must have to begin the procedure for submitting documents to their faculties.

As the practice of recent years has shown, simple knowledge of the subject is not enough to successfully pass the Unified State Exam. An excellent result can only be obtained by having extensive practice in solving problems of the same type, as well as significant experience in working with standard Unified State Examination tickets.

Only solid knowledge and the minimum necessary skill will help you gain self-confidence and pass this difficult test.

There is very little time left before the start of the new school year. But today, teachers, parents and future graduates are concerned about the question of what innovations the Ministry of Education is preparing for 2017-2018 and what to expect for those who plan to take the Unified State Exam and compete for budget-funded places in Russian universities.

In this article we will cover the most important topics:

In 2017-2018, the following have the right to take the State Examination in the Unified State Exam format:

  • Students of educational institutions of the Russian Federation (schools, lyceums, colleges, vocational schools, etc.) who have successfully completed the secondary general education program and do not have academic debt and grades below “satisfactory”.
  • Citizens of the Russian Federation who have completed secondary education in foreign educational centers.
  • Graduates of previous years who did not take the Unified State Exam or wish to improve the result of the previous year.

Children who studied under individual programs or in the “family education” format must first pass the State Examination and write a final essay by contacting an educational institution that has state accreditation. To be admitted to the Unified State Exam, such graduates must receive a “satisfactory” or higher grade in the exams.

Graduates of previous years, as well as 11th graders who have a compelling documented reason, have the right to take the exam early (from 03/22/18 to 04/13/18).

Unified State Exam for residents of Crimea

Every year, an increasing number of Crimean graduates choose Russian universities to study. Over the past two years, 11th graders have had the choice of taking the State Examination in the Unified State Exam format or entrance exams directly at the university chosen for study. Thus, in 2017, 84% of Sevastopol graduates chose to take the Unified State Exam. The majority successfully completed the tests and entered Russian universities on budget or contract forms of study.

According to the presidential decree signed in July 2016, the Unified State Exam should become mandatory for graduates of the Crimean Peninsula in 2018.

The influence of the Unified State Exam on the certification score

In 2018, it is important for graduates to prepare well for taking the Unified State Exam, since the grades obtained in the tests can significantly affect the certification score. This innovation will affect both compulsory subjects and elective exams.

Presumably, the system for converting the Unified State Exam score into a grade will be as follows:

Compulsory subjects of the Unified State Exam 2018

At the moment there is no official information about any changes in the number of mandatory tests. In the 2017-2018 academic year, all Unified State Exam participants will take Russian language and mathematics (basic or specialized level). The following items are available to choose from:

  • physics;
  • Informatics;
  • chemistry;
  • biology;
  • story;
  • geography;
  • literature;
  • social science;
  • foreign language: English, French, Spanish, German or Chinese.

Discussions on the list of compulsory subjects continue. It is possible that already in 2018 the announced innovations in the Unified State Exam will be adopted and all graduates will have to take history, geography or a foreign language. It is also possible to introduce an integrated test in natural science disciplines.

Changes in CMM in various subjects

It is worth immediately warning future 11th graders that the materials for preparing for the Unified State Exam, which the 2016 graduates used, are no longer relevant. In 2017, KIMs in many subjects underwent significant changes.

Russian language

The examination paper consists of 2 parts, which take 210 minutes to complete:

  1. provides a short answer to the question;
  2. an essay on a given topic.

There is a possibility that in 2018 a third part will be added – speaking. The oral speech will be recorded and then evaluated by the commission. Most teachers believe that this is the only way to assess the real level of oral language proficiency and the student’s ability to express his opinion and position.

Mathematics

Tests with one answer option have been completely removed from the assignments. In the basic level Unified State Examination, as well as in 1 block of the specialized level Unified State Examination, multiple choice tasks (2 correct answers) will be offered. In block 2 of the profile level, they plan to focus on integrated tasks that require knowledge of algebra and geometry.

Physics

Although the structure of assignments in 2018 will not change significantly, 11th grade students will face another not very pleasant surprise - a reduction in hours for studying physics. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the Ministry of Education decided to return it to schools, allocating hours for teaching at the expense of physics.

Graduates will also not find test assignments on their physics exams. Even entry-level tasks will require you to give a short answer (a number, a word, a decimal fraction or a sequence), and to solve high-level tasks you will have to accumulate all your knowledge from different areas of physics and mathematics.

Computer science

The main innovation of 2018 in information technology should be the complete abandonment of paper tickets. You will have to demonstrate your level of computer proficiency, as well as the skills of logical thinking and working with data, modeling and building algorithms using a computer.

The idea is great, but will the peculiarities of teaching the subject in schools be taken into account and students will be given the opportunity to choose the software they are familiar with to complete assignments? Time will show.

Literature

Back in 2017, such changes in CIMs in the literature were actively discussed as:

  1. moving away from the system of tests with one correct answer;
  2. increasing essay requirements;
  3. introduction of creative tasks.

Based on the announced innovations, we can expect that the literature ticket will consist of three blocks. In 2017, 235 minutes were provided to complete the test. Whether more time will be provided in 2018 due to the increasing complexity of the tasks will be known closer to the end of the calendar year.

Biology

The number of tasks in the ticket has decreased (in 2017, only 28 were offered to students), but the complexity has increased significantly. Tests were replaced by tasks on adding diagrams and tables, selecting correspondence, as well as analyzing and synthesizing information.

An unpleasant surprise for many in 2017 was the fact that 11 out of 28 problems contained illustrations (drawings, graphs, diagrams), the reading of which caused certain difficulties.

Chemistry

The ticket structure has changed significantly compared to 2016. In 180 minutes, examinees will need to complete 34 tasks (which is 6 less than before). But, at the same time, instead of tests with one answer, you will have to:

  • make multiple choice;
  • establish a one-to-one correspondence;
  • solve calculation problems of various levels of complexity.

Social science

In 235 minutes, future applicants will have to answer 29 tasks, divided into two blocks:

  1. 20 short answer tasks in which you will need to: insert a word, match, choose the correct answers.
  2. 9 tasks with a detailed answer, which also includes a short essay.

Foreign language

Exams in English, German, French and Spanish remain virtually unchanged. They take place in two stages:

  1. The main one, which takes 180 minutes to complete, includes tasks on grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening.
  2. The second stage is oral speech.

New for students in 2017-2018 will be the opportunity to take the Chinese language, the study of which is rapidly gaining popularity today. The Unified State Exam in Chinese was successfully tested in 2017 and this season will be offered to graduates along with English or Spanish.

If the applicant already has a first higher education, then he will not have to take the Unified State Exam. But the conditions for admission to the second higher education are determined by the university itself.

The situation is more complicated for those who did not receive higher education and graduated from school before January 1, 2009, after which all schools switched to the Unified State Exam. Previously, such applicants had the opportunity to choose. Those who applied for evening or correspondence studies could enter the university by passing entrance tests, the form of which was determined by the educational institution itself, or by passing the Unified State Exam. Applicants who wanted to enroll full-time had to take a unified state exam and creative tests, if required by the university. But in 2014, the Ministry of Education decided to remove this clause, and the procedure for admission to universities changed.

Now such Russians have no choice - without passing the Unified State Exam, they will not be able to enroll in a university for the first time, even if you graduated from school in Soviet times. That is, applicants who graduated from school before 2009 enter the university on the same terms as current graduates.

In July 2016, a petition was posted on the website change.org demanding that this clause be removed from the rules for admission to universities. It was signed by 64 thousand people out of the required 75 thousand, and the petition was deleted.

How to pass the Unified State Exam?

In order to pass the Unified State Exam, you need to apply with a package of documents either to the selected educational institution, or to the executive body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation that manages the field of education, or to the local government body. The applicant must have with him an application to the state examination commission, a passport or identity card, as well as a certificate of secondary (complete) education, a photocopy of it, or a certificate.
