Studying proccess

In the 2007/2008 academic year, a point-rating system for assessing student knowledge (BRS) was introduced. Depending on the amount of points scored during the semester, a student can receive an “automatic machine”, be admitted to a test or an exam. If not enough points are scored, then the student is not allowed to pass the exam or test and goes to retake.

e-learning

For e-learning at the university, a special electronic environment has been created - an electronic campus.

During the semester, students must complete assignments through the campus (electronic learning environment). There are several types of such tasks: test, forum, individual task. There is also an electronic journal on campus. At the beginning of each year, changes are made to the electronic system, which leads to difficulties in its use.

In the spring of 2008 blogs appeared on the Campus, in November 2008 a new testing system is being tested.

Transport

In honor of the institute, the bus stop adjacent to its new (main) building on Nezhinskaya Street was named MGUESI. Buses of the following routes stop here: 107, 187, 260. The first ones go to the Filevsky Park metro station, the second two go to the Universitet metro station. Minibuses “MESI” follow from the Kievsky railway station especially for students and teachers, who are also dropped off and recruited in the mini-park on the territory of the new building.

I study in Moscow, on the 4th year (direction Economics). The university as a whole has more "show-offs" than sense ... For those who want a worthwhile education in the economic field, I do not advise going here. Still, it's not Finn. academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, no HSE, etc. - another echelon (however, for admission to the budget, the USE scores are quite high). I can say that the main building is quite decent (not taking into account the fact that getting to it is quite problematic, 15 minutes on a paid minibus from the metro to the institute). The rest of the buildings are mediocre... Kozhukhovskaya is empty, because rented in a business park, but it would be nice to make repairs at a sports park, because. it’s starting to leak, but the building is not much, not a little more than 80 years old ... There are a lot of buffets and all are expensive ... The dining room is also expensive, but the food is so-so ... In general, the technical equipment has remained at the level of 2008 -2009 (given that at that time, computers did not differ in special performance). However, the administration takes care of modern software and installs the latest "offices" and other things on these outdated computers, which creates the effect of a "turtle" and computers hang for 10 minutes, and sometimes more. The educational process, of course, is a solid triplet. You can drive a freebie and at the same time quite successfully close the session. The teaching staff is in crisis as more experienced teachers, either already over the pension age, or go to work in other places. A fairly good composition of teachers (of the old school) teaches a master's degree, and a bachelor's degree prepares a staff of young graduate students / newly minted Ph.D.s who, in general, do not care about what they do! Because of this, good teachers are on the fingers I can single out the departments of "Accounting, analysis and audit" and "Theory of statistics" and "Taxes and taxation" - quite professional teachers who know their business (Arkharov, Bogacheva, Shadrin, Moiseikin, Sadovnikov, Sychev, Puzin, etc. Well, the Department of Economics Theory is not bad, but it does not reach the ones described above))) The most terrible departments are the Department of Finance, Credit and Banking and the Department of Applied Informatics in Economics. Lecture material at the level of abstruse words on slides in presentations - 0 explanations from oneself (mostly young people practice this way). receiving reports from their colleagues in training. Regardless of the form of study, each student must complete tasks in the "electronic campus". Tests, forums (a question for discussion) are usually posted there, and sometimes you can send some tasks there for checking by teachers. I want to note that this electronic environment always freezes or does not work. Tests in 90% of cases are laid out with errors, and sometimes they can even be confused (open not what the teacher sends). Forums are copy-pasted text from the Internet and teachers most often it suits. As for electronic textbooks on this campus, this is a complete failure ... Either they are posted, but for some reason they do not open, or non-actualized junk is laid out, for the "zero years". There are very few copies in the library, in general, the calculation is for an extra waste of money ... Couples are mostly in the afternoon, which is a disaster for a working student! Employees of the dean's offices (and all of them) are terribly unfriendly, boorish and so on ... Eternal queues. And the innovation with the "electronic dean's office" is a good idea, but during the session, the poor guys simply cannot cope with the huge flow of debtors who come for statements)))))))))))))) From the paid department, in general they do not expel, and if they do, then they are completely lost, who do not appear at the institute for years! Nevertheless, not everything is so bad, there is an opportunity to learn something, provided that you still have to sit with books, catching up on what they don’t finish in pairs ... well, or without catching up;) There are a lot of circles, with sports are very good))) Even a lot of contracts with foreign institutions, you can go to study for a year abroad (under the condition of almost excellent academic performance). There are good guys in the student council) There is even a MESI training center for students who are interested in developing!))))) There is a hostel, but that's another point) Yes, and quite a good student life, in general))) classmates))) Such things ... But, unfortunately, this happens in many universities ... If there is nowhere to put money, then the direct road is here!)) And if you want a decent education, then I advise you to think 100 times. Do not be fooled by the wrapper, as I once was led - you won’t like the filling!

: MESI Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI)

Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics was founded in 1932. Its first name was: Moscow Institute of Economic Accounting, which was replaced by the Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics in 1948. Since 1996, the university has had the status of a university.

MESI today is 7 institutes (faculties) and a wide branch network - 25 in the Russian Federation and 4 in foreign countries: in the Republic of Belarus, Armenia, Latvia and Kazakhstan. Thanks to this scale, about 70 thousand students study at MESI at the same time. Training is carried out in such areas as "Business Informatics", "Information Security", "Psychology", "Economics", "Jurisprudence", "Applied Informatics", "Linguistics" and others. Among the educational programs implemented by MESI, eight were recognized as the "Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia 2011".

In addition to the possibility of obtaining basic higher education, the university implements numerous additional training programs: secondary vocational, postgraduate, MBA, professional retraining programs and many others. MESI is the flagship among the universities of the Russian Federation for online distance learning. In 2012, the university received the status of the base organization of the CIS member states in the field of distance and e-learning. In addition, MESI is the first Russian university that has successfully passed the procedure of external examination for compliance with European standards of education quality assurance.

Admission to MESI is carried out according to the results of the USE scores competition in general education specialized subjects. It is quite difficult to pass the competition, according to the results of the admission campaign in 2012, it averaged 37 people per place. The most popular areas of training, based on the number of applications submitted, were as follows: “Trade business” (106 people per place), “State and municipal administration” (77), “Economics” and “Innovation” (60 each). The passing score is also high. To enroll in "Jurisprudence" it was necessary to score at least 252 points, in "Linguistics" - 244, in "Mathematical support and administration of information systems" - 239. In total, 983 budget places were allocated for the 2012/2013 academic year, of which 845 - for full-time education (575 in Moscow and 270 in branches).

For several years, MESI has had a program of continuing education "School-College-University". College graduates have the opportunity to enroll in shortened study programs at MESI in the areas of Management, Economics, Jurisprudence and State and Municipal Administration. Exams are held in the form of computer testing. The term of study is from 2.5 years.

The Center for Pre-University Education operates within the structure of the Institute of Continuing Education MESI, on the basis of which various programs are carried out for schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11. There are preparatory courses "Entrant-9" and "Entrant-11". At the preparatory courses, high school students are prepared for passing the Unified State Examination, and preparations are also being made for internal MESI exams for graduates of colleges and technical schools.

There is no military department in MESI, students of full-time departments of those areas of training that have passed state accreditation are granted a deferment from the army.

MESI has its own hostel. The number of places is strictly limited, the distribution of rooms among non-resident students is carried out depending on the total USE score scored in the entrance exams. In addition, students can be accommodated in dormitories of other universities in Moscow, with which MESI has an agreement. Guaranteed places are given to students who scored more than 250 points for the Unified State Examination, as well as winners of the Olympiads.

MESI ranks 29th in the ranking of the top 100 universities in Russia in 2012. This indicator is confirmed by the quality of education and the high demand for university graduates among such large companies as VTB24, URALSIB, Promsvyazbank, Alfa-Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG and many others.

Official website of MESI.

I study in absentia-remotely at MESI in Moscow. I have never regretted that I made this choice.

I will write briefly about the training.

Preparation for the session (which takes place 2 times a year, in summer and winter) takes place on a virtual campus.

After admission, you are given a login and password from this campus

During the preparation, you are given assignments for each subject (for example, I have 6 subjects in this session). For each subject, you need to complete 2 forums, 2 online tests, independent work and sometimes a term paper.

Work areas for each subject are separate, there you can find assignments for Independent work, forums. As well as a workshop that you study before doing assignments. Methodological recommendations.

For example, this is how the workspace on the subject of Marketing looks like

On the right you can see forums, as well as a consultation forum (where you can ask a question about studying to a teacher)

In the middle are announcements from the teacher.

Materials are visible a little lower (workshops, manuals and other things that are useful for studying are published there)

And at the very bottom, students post their independent and term papers for verification by the teacher.

The closer the exams are, the more interesting it is to find out what points you scored in each subject.

To do this, you need to go to the workspace of the subject for which you need information and click on the Gradebook on the right (this can be seen on the screen above).

Tests are on the campus homepage

For each test, a certain number of attempts are given, depending on the teacher himself.

In tests, there are from 10 to 40-80 questions. It depends on what subject. Basically 20-40.

Here are the test questions on the Fundamentals of Crisis Management:

The time for the test is also given.

As for passing the exam, you can come to the university itself to take the exam, or you can connect to an online video conference, having a webcam and a microphone.

At the exam, they ask questions on tickets, you see the teacher and he, too, you.

Such training is very suitable for young mothers, I myself am one. I entered the university when my son was one and a half years old. I don’t get tired of studying, but I also get knowledge.

The curator constantly answers if you have any questions. You can also contact the curator to issue certificates. You can pick up a certificate when you arrive at the university or the curator will send it to you by Russian Post.

Debts can be closed by connecting to the exam of other groups younger than you.

The main thing in studying is to pass forums, tests and independent ones on time. If something is not clear, you can contact the teacher by e-mail at any time. Goses are taken at the university.

I still have a little more to learn)
