When you're sad and lonely. I'm sad and lonely

Hello, I appeal to you, who are on the verge of despair, hopelessness, who have been covered by a wave of depression. I ask you to get together and force yourself to go to dance training, even against your will, when you don’t feel like it at all, go through yourself. At first it will be hard, you will want to quit, but please hold out for a month, and then everything will change for the better. I do not promise you that all your problems will be solved, no, BUT YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE TO THE SITUATION.
Why dancing? Dancing, namely dancing, and preferably social - Argentine tango or Salsa. Because social dances have no age or cultural restrictions, they are created, as it were, for everyone, they are danced in pairs, in close embraces (the pleasure of dancing together, from common successes and achievements is unforgettable). Each resulting movement, each dance is a victory, and there will be many such victories in just one training session. And when people hug, their bodies produce endorphins - the hormone of joy and happiness. And I'm sure an hour-long workout will give you emotions for the whole evening, and maybe until the next class.
And all of the above is not just beautiful words, I went through it. Now I am successful, beautiful, self-confident and accepting life in all its manifestations. But it wasn’t always like this, until recently I was devoured by depression from unrequited love, I was fired from a good well-paid job, I started having health problems (I was very devoted to work and did not pay attention to health). I felt very bad, because I didn’t dare to tell my friends about my problems (I considered myself strong or thought that everyone didn’t care), I was lonely, hopelessness choked me, sadness and despair covered me. Everything became so unbearable that one day I found myself on the edge of a cliff, I wanted to take a step forward. But to my happiness, I thought for a second and realized that this would not solve the problems, and only forever leave me a loser (if there is a rebirth, then I will close in a circle of failures and depressions). Then I took a step back, and it was this step that became, a STEP FORWARD, immediately after that, my friend called me and said: “I don’t want to hear anything, you will dance, I’m waiting for you at training.” He dragged me out for a month, forcibly dragged him out to training (it’s just that my “past” also danced). But they showed me that the “past” is only an episode in my life, and tango is me, my essence. Three months later I began to appear at general parties, and after six months I became the most desired partner, for some I became a dream.
A little later, I got married, opened my own School of Argentine tango "Kairos" http://vk.com/club8930772 and became successful and self-confident. Now I have many friends, and when I have difficulties, I am no longer afraid to turn to them for help. Today, different events happen in my life (less than a month my husband and I broke up), but now I believe in my future and I can see the opportunities that open up in situations that happen.
P.S. I really want your life to change for the better. If you need to speak out - write, if you want to learn how to dance tango - you are welcome here http://vk.com/club8930772. Why am I doing this? I just want to thank fate for the given chance and support - to support and help those who need help.

Father Cesare was extremely ugly. Especially spoiled his nose - a short but large beak, somehow stuck to the elongated face of an ascetic. In his youth, he worried a lot about this, since he was not successful with girls. They considered him a good reliable friend, but they went on dates with others. Cesare did not become embittered, did not withdraw into himself. By nature he was kind and compassionate, but by no means soft-hearted and unprincipled. He simply understood and pitied people with all their shortcomings and weaknesses. For more than twenty years, Padre Contini served the Lord in a small church that stood on a mountain so high that few tourists dared to climb there on foot along an endless narrow path, on both sides of which rose stone walls that protected the possessions of wealthy residents of the town. Father Cesare repeatedly visited the luxurious villas of his parishioners and knew a lot about the life of these people. But it is not proper for a priest to slander and gossip. The parishioners loved him.

Last week, as usual, he drove from town to church in an old Fiat. The road wound around the mountain, and Father Cesare looked intently ahead. He habitually slowed down at the point where the highway intersected with the hiking trail. And not in vain. A tourist in glasses, dressed in a fluffy colorful skirt, with a camera hanging from her neck, looking around like a bird, crossed the road. “You can see her eyesight is very bad!” Father Cesare thought sympathetically. He was about to offer a stranger a lift for her - the way up the mountain was long and tiring - when suddenly the car shook noticeably, and a ringing and rattle was heard from behind. He looked back. Close to his Fiat was a luxurious black car. The padre might have been angry because the culprit of the accident ignored the warning signs and the zebra crossing. But man is first and foremost. Is it worth it to swear because of the fiatik breathing in its incense? Father Cesare quickly got out of the car and went to investigate the situation. The unfortunate driver had already opened the door. The priest leaned over and in his characteristic soft and friendly manner asked: “Are you hurt?” He cast a worried look at the stranger: gray disheveled hair, a twisted face, large yellowish teeth. The man had a repulsive appearance, and due to the fact that his nose was like two drops of water similar to the nose of Father Cesare, he resembled an eerie caricature of a priest. “Peripheral paralysis of the muscles of the face,” flashed through the thoughts of the kind padre. The stranger also noticed the similarity: “Who are you, what do you do?” he barked abruptly. “Don’t worry, I won’t make any claims,” the priest replied, feeling sympathy for the unfortunate man, “I serve in the local church of San Michele, my name is Cesare Contini.” At the same time, he noticed that the interlocutor had a slight accent. Interesting interesting. One of the nearby villas was bought recently by a well-known Russian oligarch. It must have been one of his retinue. “If you are able to continue on your way, then I will leave you. I will be glad to see you in our church. You may not be a Catholic, but still, welcome!” Father Cesare said affably. The man silently slammed the door, the padre got into the Fiat and soon entered the vaults of the church dear to him. The stranger's black car proceeded uphill, towards the villa of the Russian oligarch.

Father Cesare had completely forgotten about the incident on the road, but the culprit of the accident himself reminded of himself. In the evening, the padre, as always, decided to take a walk in the church garden. From the mountain, an indescribably beautiful view of the sea and the city opened up, and every time he thanked God for the opportunity to serve in such a wonderful place. Suddenly footsteps were heard on the path, and a stranger from a black car appeared before the priest. He also walked in a sort of sloppy way. The Padre stepped forward and sympathetically took him by the arm. But the guest did not waste time and immediately got down to business: “Father Cesare,” he said in a sharp, unpleasant voice, “I want to confess!” They sat down on a bench and the stranger began his story. The priest heard a lot of things at night looking. His interlocutor came from the planet Trail, which was preparing an invasion of Earth. Earthlings are mired in sins, wars, corruption - and all these vices will have to be eradicated with a red-hot iron. Of course, most of the earthlings will have to be destroyed, but the best ones will remain and continue the traditions of humanism and kindness! It immediately became clear to the priest that he was in front of a madman. He had already seen Napoleon, Garibaldi and even Victor Emmanuel in the confessional. “My friend, why did you choose me? Father Cesare asked kindly. “I am sad and lonely,” replied the madman, “but today, on the road, I saw your kind face. And your attitude towards me…” He became so upset that he could not continue. Father Cesare heard a strange sob. Yes, the priest of the church of San Michele was a really good man. And people with mental disorders unmistakably felt this and came to him with their problems. Father Cesare took his interlocutor by the hand. The hand was very dry and hot. And the priest began to do what every true shepherd and just a good person would do - to convince the unfortunate madman that the inhabitants of the Earth, the creation of the Lord, do not deserve a terrible fate. He uttered words of love and forgiveness with fervor and sincerity, and this conviction seemed to have an effect on the interlocutor. Saying goodbye, the stranger shook the padre's hand and asked permission to turn to him in case of need. “By the way, my name is Gnob,” he called out as he got into the black car.

The secret of confession is sacred. That is why Father Cesare could not tell his best friend Father Francesco about the unusual case. As a result of a series of conclusions, Father Cesare decided that Gnob was a mentally unbalanced employee of the Russian oligarch, and the destruction of the earthlings, mired in corruption, allegorically means some group that crossed the road to the boss.

Father Cesare started his little car (one of the parishioners corrected the consequences of the accident) and drove home. The sixth sense told him that the story with Gnob was not over yet. But everything is God's will.

This evening a woman arrived. Ugly, with a strange skin color. She found Father Cesare in the church and immediately pulled him to the confessional. “Greetings to you from Gnob. - said the stranger in a pleasant, but somewhat mechanical voice with the same elusive accent. - He says that you are a reliable person and keep the secret of confession. I would like to tell you how sad and lonely I am.” The Padre heard almost the same thing as the last time: the planet Trail, corruption, red-hot iron, the ideals of humanism. But he was kind and patient, and repeated his ardent and heartfelt speech in a sincere and gentle voice. When the priest finished his heartfelt monologue, sobs were heard. The foreign lady wept so bitterly that he pushed his handkerchief through the gap in the partition. The lady blew her nose and thanked him. Seeing her to the car, Father Cesare continued to gently console the unfortunate woman. “How strange, perhaps, their conscience spoke in them,” thought the priest, “it’s not easy to kill!” But he did a good job today, trying to impress his interlocutor that it is always better to follow the legal path, while observing other, higher laws. Being a neat man, Father Cesare went into the cabin to pick up a handkerchief. Holding it carefully with two fingers, the padre moved to the trash can. By the light of electric candles, he saw with horror that the once clean handkerchief was covered with wet spots of light purple. Father Cesare stood for a moment, thought, then pressed the pedal. The lid opened and the handkerchief disappeared into the bucket. “Probably got your hands dirty!” The priest reassured himself.

The next day he was visited by two strangers in black. They didn't take off their sunglasses, even in the semi-darkness of the church. “Mr. Contini,” said one in an American accent, “very unusual people have been visiting you recently. Won't you tell me why?" The priest did not like the couple. Father Cesare guessed that they were representatives of the overseas mafia. What a snake ball! Truly, evil knows no bounds! “I won’t tell you,” he answered coldly, “what the parishioners come to me with, only I and the Lord know.” The men in black looked at each other. From their faces, the padre realized that they would love to talk to him in a different way and in another place, but at the moment they did not have the authority to do so. “You are right about one thing, I always have strange people!” - in the voice of the priest sounded irony unusual for him. The Americans had to go home.

And a day later, his "Fiat" caught up with the car of the restless Gnob. The Russian hit man shouted: “Don't worry, padre. The invasion is cancelled. After talking to you, of course. Good luck!" He signaled and sped forward. For a moment, it seemed to Father Cesare that the wheels of the black car were not touching the highway. But he chalked it up to heat and overwork.

In the evening, the priest conducted the service in an unusually high spirits. He saved the life of a man, and maybe more than one! Any mafioso has a soul, you just need to find the key to it!
While locking the church, Father Cesare heard a popping sound in the sky. It was as if a very large bird had flown by. After a couple of minutes, a strange figure stepped out of the darkness. She kept moving her shoulders, as if adjusting an uncomfortable garment. “Hail to you, padre,” came a vibrating thin voice, “I am Hort from the planet Cooks. I'm sad and lonely...".

If you feel sad, bad or lonely, read this text. It was written by the poet Max Ehrmann in the distant 1920s of the last century. The poem is called Desiderata. This work is so wise and insightful that it went down in history, and even a whole article on Wikipedia is devoted to it!

In his diary, Max Ehrmann wrote: "I would like, if I succeed, to leave behind a gift - a small essay imbued with the spirit of nobility." Around the same time, he created the "Parting words".

Read these lines, they have a lot of meaning!

“Go your way calmly amid the noise and bustle and remember the peace that can be in silence. Without betraying yourself, live, as soon as possible, in good relations with every person. Speak your truth softly and clearly and listen to others, even people who are not sophisticated and uneducated - they also have their own story.

Avoid noisy and aggressive people, they spoil the mood. Do not compare yourself to anyone: you risk feeling worthless or becoming conceited. There is always someone who is greater or smaller than you.

Rejoice in your plans just as you rejoice in what you have already done. Always be interested in your craft; humble as it is, it's a gem compared to other things you own. Be careful what you do, the world is full of deceit. But don't be blind to virtue; other people aspire to great ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Don't play friendship. Don't be cynical about love - compared to emptiness and disappointment, it is as eternal as grass.

With a good heart, accept what the years advise you, and with gratitude say goodbye to youth. Strengthen your spirit in case of sudden misfortune. Do not torture yourself with chimeras. Many fears are born from fatigue and loneliness.

Submit to healthy discipline, but be gentle with yourself. You are no less a child of the universe than the trees and stars: you have the right to be here. And whether it's obvious to you or not, the world is going the way it should go. Be at peace with God, however you understand Him.

Whatever you do and whatever you dream about, in the noisy bustle of life, keep peace in your soul. With all the insidiousness, monotonous work and broken dreams, the world is still beautiful. Be careful with him."

Max Ehrmann's prose poem Desiderata (Desideratum Poem) has been repeatedly translated into Russian by different translators. However, they all made some unfortunate oversights. The reason for this is not at all the lack of skill and qualifications of the various authors of the translation. It’s just that the very essence of this work is such that any person who reads it begins to be more guided by emotions and feelings, and not by the letter of the original source ... In this case, errors appear by themselves - after all, everyone has their own emotions ...

There is a living legend associated with this poem:

In his diary, Max wrote: "I would like, if I succeed, to leave behind a gift - a small essay imbued with the spirit of nobility." Somewhere in the late 20s, he just created the "Parting words".

Around 1959, the rector of St. Paul's Church in Baltimore added this poem to his parish textbook. At the same time, the inscription on the folder read: “Old Church of St. Paul, 1962.” (In 1962 it was founded).

The parishioners of the church passed this folder to each other. In 1965, one of the parishioner's guests saw this text and became interested. He considered that "Parting words" is a greeting card for Christmas. And since the text was in the folder “Old Church of St. Paul, 1962”, the guest considered that this year the text was found in this church. Since then, this legend was born ...

Amid the hustle and bustle, go in peace through your life; and remember that you can find peace in silence.

If possible, without unnecessary concessions, maintain good relations with everyone.

Speak the truth calmly and clearly; and listen to others, because even fools and ignoramuses have something to say.

Avoid screamers and aggressive people; they only irritate your spirit.

If you begin to compare yourself with others, vanity and bitterness can seize you, for there will always be those who will be either better or worse than you.

Rejoice in your achievements and plans. Strive for success, even modest; only he alone is your true property in this changing world.

Be careful what you do, for the world is full of fraud. But do not let deceit hide virtue from you: many strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. And in particular, do not show feigned affection. Also, do not be cynical when dealing with love, because in the midst of boredom and disappointment, love alone, like grass, is reborn again and again.

Accept the flow of time with gratitude and part without regrets with what pleased you in your youth.

Develop the strength of the spirit so that it is your protection from the blows of fate. But don't let dark thoughts take over you. Fatigue and loneliness give rise to many fears.

With discipline in mind, be kind to yourself.

You, like trees and stars, were born of the Universe. And you have a right to be here. Whether you realize it or not, the universe is evolving as it should.

Therefore, live in peace with God, whatever you imagine him to be. And whatever you do, and whatever your aspirations, in the midst of noise and confusion, keep peace in your soul. Despite falsehood, hard work and unfulfilled dreams, our world is still beautiful.

Do not be upset. And try to be happy.

Max Ehrmann "Desiderata", 1827

Sometimes a person feels completely unhappy, and this begins to affect his whole life. There can be many reasons - job loss, psychological trauma, loss, or financial difficulties ... However, if nothing is done about your condition, it will become more and more difficult to fight depression.

Doing something when you are very sad is not an easy task. After all, depression just takes away the strength and hope that are necessary for action. Therefore, perhaps you will postpone the fight with her until a certain point. But if you are ready to do something, then there are many things that will help you overcome this condition.

Complete rest.

Take a day off. Or a week off. Go on vacation. Go to bed at 9pm and get as much sleep as you need. Whatever you need to do, give yourself quality rest, and then make it regular, not occasional.

Pay well.

You can often notice how young children are easily upset, crying, but then quickly return to their normal state. This approach can work for adults too. In our culture, people are often led to believe that crying is a sign of weakness. But it is not so. There is nothing wrong with tears, because they allow you to connect with your feelings, “let off steam”, get support. If you allow yourself to cry into a pillow or on the shoulder of a true friend, this will help get rid of the accumulated negativity.

Practice gratitude.

Notice things for which you could say "thank you" to God, the Universe, or higher powers. By learning to notice the good in your own life, over time, you will overcome the negative thoughts that arise out of inertia, replacing them with brighter ones. Negative thoughts only plunge a person even more into a whirlpool of troubles, where he does not know how to be and what to do. If you feel sad and want to cry, gratitude for what you already have in life will help you avoid further immersion in this harmful funnel of negativity.

Massage can do wonders for a stressed body.

A gentle massage can relieve tension in the muscles, helping to relax the entire body. The services of salon masters can be an expensive pleasure. However, even if you ask a friend to stretch your neck a little, this will already significantly reduce the tension.

Keeping records.

If you love to write, this method can also serve you to get rid of negative experiences. Every day write down what happens to you and how you feel about it. Thus, you can give vent to emotions, put things in order in your thoughts.

Cut back on your responsibilities.

It is possible that you feel sad and helpless because you have taken on too much. So just stop doing any of that! Of course, all this is much easier said than done - hire a babysitter, or find a new job with fewer hours. But you must understand that you are doing this solely for yourself. The effect of such "unloading" will not keep you waiting.

Communicate with people.

Those who ask themselves the question: “What to do if you are sad?” Sometimes they go so deep into introspection that they forget about real communication with others. Meanwhile, isolation only contributes to more depression.

Try to find those people in whose presence you will be yourself. For example, you can attend certain courses, or any communities of interest. By overcoming social isolation, you can overcome the feeling of sadness.

Bring more meaning into your life.

You can get out of a state of melancholy and apathy if you learn to regularly do what makes sense for you personally. Ask yourself what is important to you? What will you get if you achieve this? How can your life change?

Change your daily routine.

Slowly but surely, you can eliminate those that take your strength from your daily activities and replace them with pleasure. Remember: every person deserves to live the best life imaginable, and our life is made up of everyday little things.

The last advice concerns those who are subjected to extreme emotional stress. If you are one of these people, remember that in this case, the help of a psychologist is needed. A specially trained person will help you identify the true causes of stress, determine those strategies that will help you cope with it.

Throughout life, it is necessary to be attentive to the signals that the body sends to us. If you feel that the level of workload is beyond your capacity, remember that there are certain actions you can take to make a difference now, as well as in the future.
