How to set a goal to improve your life. Dream! Yes, yes, dream! Target

By now, you should already have:

How to set goals?

We will set goals correctly for your true dream (if you haven't found it yet, pick one of your biggest dreams).

Stage 1: Must have

The goal must necessarily be applicable to some desired object. The goal itself is meaningless. Therefore, be sure to make sure that you have a dream, and one that you are determined to achieve. Regardless of whether it is a big dream or a small one, the most important thing is that it be. And if you followed the instructions in the previous chapters on finding a dream, you definitely have a dream.

Of course, it is important that the soul and mind are in agreement regarding the achievement of this dream, but if this is not the case yet, still follow this dream. It is better to follow someone else's dream than not to follow a dream at all. But if you feel that the dream is not yours, look for yours further, continuing to work on the one that is now. By the way, it rarely happens that a person finds his dream the first time. It usually happens that he finds his dream already in the process of achieving some other dream. The main thing is that you develop the habit of following your dream, and it will not take you long to find it. As stated earlier, "not yours" a dream is defined by a feeling of spiritual discomfort.

Stage 2: Turning a dream into a goal

To turn a dream into a goal, you need to do just one action, namely, set a date.

This step is the easiest, but extremely important. Don't be afraid to set a date (it will force you to start working on your dream). Think of a realistic date for achieving your dream. As soon as you have determined the real date, reduce the period by half and write exactly this date. You say: “Yes, I don’t really believe in that real one, but you say to reduce it by half.” In response, I will tell you this: “And who said that you must reach the goal by this time?” If you don't reach it, reschedule the date to a later date, or possibly such that along the way you will find another dream that will capture you even more, and give up your current dream. It is not known what will happen, but it is known that a short date will make your mind work faster and more efficiently.

Never set a deadline for your dream, whether or not you know how to achieve that goal. A completely wrong approach: if I don’t know how to achieve a goal, then I don’t set it. Everything is completely and vice versa: you will be given actions depending on your goals. If your goals are small - get an action plan to achieve just such goals, if your goals are big - get an action plan to achieve big goals. And what is very, very important: for the Universe to deliver you to a small goal or a big one is equally easy. It is ours that resists, saying to itself: “This is too easy a goal, I need to spend one week on this”, “This is a very difficult goal, I need to spend half my life to achieve it”(By the way, here is the article - ""). It is not at all difficult for the universe to deliver something to us in exactly the same way as it does not bother with the germination of trees and grass.

Of course, if you do not want to, you can put the implementation date at least 20 years from the current day.

Stage 3. Find a plan of action

The most important point in finding an action plan is the date of the dream, exactly what we did in the previous point. As strange as it sounds, it is true. The implementation date that you have set tells the Universe a lot about your readiness to achieve the goal. You will receive your dream exactly when you are ready to receive it. And for you there will be an appropriate path that will lead you to your dream exactly when you are ready. Therefore, I urge you to set the maximum short terms. Don't tell anyone about it, and if you don't reach your goal by that time, don't worry, set a new date.

So, now let's take a closer look at the question of finding the action plan itself. Note that I say not to invent, but to find, since we cannot invent anything. Our logical mind is rather limited to somehow influence the Universe. Our task is to fulfill the order, which we really want, and carefully monitor when this opportunity turns up. If you do not have a plan of action (and most likely you do not, if this is a big goal), then after sending your order to the Universe, be very vigilant. The Universe began to think how to present it to you, and in the best and most harmonious way. She knows you better than you know yourself, she knows all of yours, and knows what realization will bring you pleasure. Your task is to focus on the goal and watch out for when the opportunity comes to you. The waiting time can be from one day to three months, depending on your determination to achieve the goal. Personally, this period was three days for me. But I was too prepared. Opportunity can pass you unnoticed, so be extra careful and do not miss it. You may be given some new task at work. A complete stranger may call you with a proposal for a particular case. That is, anything can happen. You can find or on the Internet.

When an inspiring idea comes to you, you must believe in it and start working on its implementation.

It usually happens that your dream is realized through many ideas that will come to you as you move towards it. The first idea leads you to the first crossroads, then along the way you meet a sign for where to go next and find the second idea. It guides you further along the path to the goal until the next fork. Then you meet a third idea that takes you down a detour to your goal, then maybe the next idea that takes you down alleyways to no one knows where, then a fifth idea that takes you back to the fork of the second and third idea, and so on. But it’s like this works. Patiently follow all the ideas that come to you, and no matter how fornicating they are, they will eventually lead you to the final goal, and usually you will get much more than what you asked for. But you have to be patient and follow the ideas that come.

But there is one condition for achieving a dream: yours must be set to achieve the goal.. Connect your imagination to find ideas for you. Imagine yourself having already achieved your goal. Be joyful, jump with happiness, feel that you have already achieved what you wanted. Twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, imagine how your dream comes true. Thank the Universe for what you have already achieved. You will tune yourself into a frequency that will help you attract the right events into your life faster. You will also set your subconscious mind to make the right decision on the way to the goal.

So, at this stage, your first goal is to find a plan of action to achieve your true dream, which you found in the first part. The time to achieve this goal is one month.

Trust the Universe and follow the ideas that come to you. You are not immune from the initial ones. But they will be until your subconscious is rebuilt on a successful line of events.

Stage 4: Goal setting

Depending on the size and longevity of your dream and your determination to achieve the goal, you will get an idea how to achieve your dream. At this stage, we will assume that you have already received the idea. Perhaps you will see a complete plan of action to achieve your dream. Perhaps this will be just the initial plan of action. In any case, you must start. As you move forward, you will see a way further.

  1. Do you have an idea how to start
  2. Estimate the time when you can implement this idea
  3. Based on your idea, set goals for:
  • 1 week
  • 1 month
  • 3 months
  • 6 months

If the idea you found is too big and takes more time, set goals for:

  • 1 year
  • 2 years
  • 5 years
  • 10 years

Goals should be set from long to short. This will provide you with a complete picture of the plan to achieve the idea. For example: if it takes 1 year to implement the idea you found in point 2, set goals first for 6 months, then for 3 months, 1 month and finally for 1 week.

If the term for the implementation of the idea is 2 months, then set goals for 1 month, 1 week.

They say that it is not harmful to dream, but many dreams should remain only dreams. I lived with this statement since childhood, my parents always scolded me when they found out about my fantasies - come down to earth!

Well, okay, let's say the idea of having a unicorn and flying it to other planets really needs to be improved, but such simple human desires as a good home, a stable marriage, an interesting job and travel can be realized. And how many people have very simple and small desires?

Get in shape for the summer, open your own shop, learn how to dance flamenco... And every day I hear from someone - well, it's impossible. Everything is possible if you know how to achieve it! I will talk about my approach to goals and their implementation, and you will learn how to set goals.

Goal setting

How to set a goal so that it is achieved? Some believe that their desire is already a goal. For example, I talked with a young guy who wanted to buy an apartment and was saving money to buy it. This went on for a year, then several years (although his income was very decent), and all this time he worked hard and hard, and seemed to be moving towards his goal ... No. It is a desire, a dream, and an extremely stupid way to make it come true. If you do not organize the process from the very beginning, then life will not be enough for your dreams.

A well-defined goal has the following characteristics:

  • she is very specific. If we take the purchase of housing as an example, then you need to sit down and describe in detail what options you can suit: footage, location, layout.
  • it is measured in specific terms. For example, buying a house in three years. Lose 10 pounds by summer.
  • it has an implementation plan. If you know how to implement it, you will always succeed.

We formulate goals

You need to write down any of your desires - for this you can get a separate notebook or text file, I write down all my ideas in Evernot. Not all desires really need to be implemented, some are simply meaningless, others are imposed, and others are not thought out at all. But it's better to have them on hand. Further - from desire it is necessary to make the purpose.

Not so long ago I was engaged in this particular dream, and I can tell you what and how I did. It's not too difficult, but it can't be done overnight, so you'll need to figure out how to set the right goal and come to it.

The next step is to formulate the goal, to express it as specifically and in detail as possible. To do this, you need to confirm the reason. Ask yourself the following questions (I have listed possible answers for the language learning goal):

  1. Why do I want to achieve this?
    Possible answers:
    • I want to feel the culture of a new country.
    • I need this language in my work, its knowledge will make me a narrower and more valuable specialist.
    • I want to travel and knowledge of a foreign language will expand my opportunities.
    • I want to read, write, listen to music and watch videos in that language.
  2. What will give me the achievement of this result?
    • I will be more free when traveling.
    • I will be able to review the films of my favorite director in the original.
    • I will get a promotion.
  3. How will I feel when I achieve my goal and how will I know that I have achieved the result?
    • I will feel satisfaction from the first book I read without a dictionary.
    • I will experience new sensations when watching the film in the original.
    • I will feel a little less "stranger" during the trip, when I can freely talk with the locals.
  4. How will achieving results improve me?
    • A foreign language develops thinking, I will remember information faster.
    • I will study hard, become more disciplined and learn how to work with information.
  5. What can I do next?
    • It will be easier for me to learn new languages.
    • I can do teaching or tutoring.
    • I will be able to get a certificate of knowledge of a new language.
    • I will be able to go to another country to work (having an accredited diploma and confirming the spoken language with a certificate).
As you can see, even the simplest goal requires careful study. I wrote the options that came to my mind when I was thinking about learning English. This list helped me figure out exactly how to approach training and what to pay attention to.

I determined the due date as follows. As a test of my knowledge, I chose the IELTS test. Then I called my English teacher and asked her how long it would take to actually prepare for IELTS at my level. After throwing a couple of months on unforeseen circumstances, I began to draw up an implementation plan.

How to bring your vision to life

Every goal seems too complex unless it is divided into small sub-goals. My grandmother used to say If you don't know how to be, take small steps ". Therefore, our large and important goal needs to be divided into many small ones, which will be much easier to deal with. For this, we again need several sheets of paper and a pencil, we will again answer questions.

How to achieve what you want?

It was easy for me - I need to study, devote more time to the language, read it, watch movies and attend a group of classes. If the goal is to buy a home, then everything is a little more complicated. To buy an apartment, you need money, the apartment itself, lawyers, a real estate agency and time. It will take time, consultations with several doctors, a new diet, a gym membership and a good trainer to achieve the ideal figure. I hope the basic principle is clear? Your goal should be broken down into milestones.

By the way, did you notice that in every example I mention the time? It is needed in order to learn English, to lose weight and buy real estate ... This is not an abstract meaning. You can’t listen to a song in English once a week and pass IELTS a year later, just as you can’t squat twice and get gorgeous muscles. All good things take time, so figure out how much time you will spend on your goal right away.

This requirement will need to be strictly observed - otherwise the goal will not be achieved.
The term is determined either by a person’s capabilities or by external circumstances (in a situation with a language, for example, when a certificate is needed by a certain date, they act based on the available time).

I had nowhere to hurry, so I allocated 8 hours a week to study English. Six days for one hour for self-study, reading books, watching videos, and studying on the Internet, and two hours for classes in courses. Your deadlines may be different, it all depends on the goal and discipline.

Making a list of tasks

So, for my language "young fighter course" I had to make a list. I recommend that everyone make such a list in relation to their goal.
  1. Find out your assets
You need to understand what you have to achieve the goal right now. I had this:
    • school level of English. Not God knows what, but still not from scratch.
    • good teaching materials, classics and modern literature in the original.
    • a good teacher (no need to look for a group).
    • enough money for education (if I didn’t have it, I would take out a small loan).
    • several English acquaintances who agreed to chat with me on Skype and correct my mistakes.
You need to determine what you have to achieve the goal, and how you can interact with it.

The next question on the list to be answered is -

  2. What needs to be done for the result?
    I had these answers:
    • take a test and find out what state my English is in.
    • talk with the teacher, soberly assess your capabilities and listen to the recommendations of a professional.
    • draw up a schedule.
    • separately to train for IELTS testing - find examples of tasks, complete them, learn to do it as correctly as possible.
    • build independent tasks so that they are effective.
To be honest, I was discouraged at this stage - it seemed to me that the whole list of preparations would consist in buying beautiful notebooks. But then I re-read that part of the list, which lists the reasons for my desire to learn the language and perked up - why not motivation? And I started my personal educational project for a year - in order to reach my goal. My example of achieving the goal did not require huge investments or hours of wear and tear, just every day I was doing interesting and favorite things. Yes, sometimes it turned out that "today's" tasks became "tomorrow's", sometimes I was too tired to absorb new information - and then I was engaged in repetitions, training.

In the situation with large purchases, for example, things are a little different. First of all, there will be a completely different list. In order to purchase housing faster, it will be necessary not only to save money, but also to protect it from inflation, increase capital, monitor the situation in the housing market, if a mortgage becomes necessary, then write a new list on how to pay it off quickly.

We must not forget what all this is for. Two months after the start of classes, I started reading - so that it was not so scary, first I took up the good old fairy tales in English, then I read something more difficult, and then I caught myself wanting to listen to audio books. No sooner said than done.

In the same way, I recommend that everyone who has set a goal and achieves it do it - start enjoying the process. The path to the goal is not an easy one, and the one who knows how to set goals correctly will always achieve his goal. But there is a significant difference between "achieve" and "achieve with pleasure." The second, as you know, is much more pleasant.

I would also like to give one very important advice that I received from my teacher. It so happened that in our group there were several guys who had already tried to take IELTS and did not receive the necessary scores to confirm the level. They gave a lot of advice, talked about their experiences and shared opinions.

But our teacher gave one of the most valuable advice in my entire life - You need to learn only from those who have already achieved the desired result! Simple, right? Seek advice from those who know what to do. For me it was a revelation.

It seems to someone that a year to achieve a goal is a lot. I have a different point of view on this. A year is a long time if you want to buy a coat or change your phone. And yes, it all depends on the situation. I went twenty-five years without English (really good English), and another year didn't make any difference to me.

If there was a need to prepare for testing in three months, I would do it too, there are no impossible desires if you organize your life correctly for at least a year or two.

Any achievement of the goal is not only work, but also some overcoming of oneself. You will have to overcome yourself every day, and even several times a day. I convinced myself every day that languages are easy for me (this is true, because I know four languages), I also praised myself (positive emotions help to cope with the case), and all the time I organized myself.

Organizing yourself is a difficult task, and if at some point it doesn’t work out, then it’s better to contact a coaching coach. These are such special psychologists who not only breed the theory, but also help to achieve the desired result and embody in their lives what makes it even more interesting.

I am sure that if a person knows how to set goals correctly and achieve them, he will be able to achieve the set results, and at the same time he will be able to learn to live differently - more meaningfully. Ultimately, goals help you mobilize yourself, make yourself better, smarter, and more interesting. I say this because I have repeatedly passed this stage in my life - I achieved results, re-read the list of goals set for the year over and over again, I was looking for ways to realize my desires.

Now I am ready to organize the process of achieving not only personal goals, but also work ones - this helps me a lot in life. Remember, nothing is impossible. And write down your list of goals - for a year, five years, or even for life today, so that you know your every dream and begin to realize them.

Daily tasks cannot be accomplished without setting a goal. Even the most simple and everyday actions are initially planned by a person. How to set goals correctly? What helps to turn the idea into reality? The information below will help answer your questions.

What is needed to set a goal?

An aimless existence is not to the liking of anyone. Almost every person has his own goal, an incentive to life. How to set goals correctly and For this you need to apply maximum patience and effort. The correct setting of life priorities, as well as the recommendations presented below, will help you create for yourself an attitude to achieve the goal.

Thoughts are material

What we constantly imagine, sooner or later will come true. Positive thoughts attract good luck, while negative thoughts make us passive and unhappy. How to set goals and achieve them? Think positively and believe in your own success. Without believing in yourself, setting goals is meaningless.

Think about your goals, mentally imagine the moment when they will be achieved. The more often you do this, the faster your plan will be realized.

Visualization: watch and do

Laziness is the main enemy

Do not let yourself rest in those moments when you need to act. There was a free minute - once again work out the options for implementing the task.

How to put Fight against laziness and apathy. Movement is life, whether it be physical or mental. Lazy and apathetic people do not reach heights and, as statistics show, are less successful than active individuals. Do not let laziness penetrate your thoughts, organize your day in such a way that even during a break or a break at work you are busy with something.

What should be the time frame for achieving the goals

In order to set goals correctly, it is necessary to set clear time limits for their implementation. Specific dates will help you become more collected and responsible in achieving the desired result.

You can not set goals for a long period of time, since you cannot guarantee that nothing will prevent you from achieving them. That is, if you make the installation that after 10 years you will save up for an apartment, then the goal is at risk of remaining unfulfilled.

How to set goals correctly: examples

Correctly set tasks and goals are quickly realized. For example, if a person has given himself the intention to buy a car of a certain brand in six months, then he will buy it. It's not just about setting a task, it's about the desire to quickly implement the plan. People who are passionate about achieving a goal find it easier to get what they want out of life.

A great example of good goal setting is how athletes prepare for competition. They give themselves the idea that they will be physically prepared for the sports Olympics. Here, not only the goal itself is used, but also the mood of the athletes, their determination.

Another example of the correct setting: "I want to lose 10 kilograms in 5 months." The exact opposite of this goal setting is a setting of this kind: "I want to lose weight." In the first option, the goal is clear and has a certain time frame, a tangible end result. It forces a person to work productively in order to implement his plans on time. The second option is an example of how not to set a goal. Blurred time limits and fuzzy end result will not help to realize what you want.

A few steps towards setting and achieving goals

How to set goals correctly? Before proceeding directly to the formulation of a specific task, it is necessary to choose for yourself a few (no more than 5) of the most important goals. Throw away everything unnecessary and uninteresting to you at the moment. Once you have a goal in mind, there are a few simple steps that can help you set the right mindset for yourself and make it happen.

Step 1. Conversation with your own "I"

Settle down as you like, and relax, immerse yourself in a light pleasant slumber. Now ask yourself the question: “What do I most want to achieve?” Filter out unnecessary information, exclude fleeting desires and abstract dreams. Highlight what brings you positive emotions.

Step 2. Fixing the task on a piece of paper

How to set goals correctly? Fix them on paper. Describe your goals in detail, highlight important points. Reread the written information several times a day - this will help to fix the task in the subconscious.

Step 3. Breaking down global goals into small and quickly achievable tasks

How to set and achieve them correctly? Take into account the actions required to implement them. Opposite each of the written goals, fix microtasks, the execution of which will bring you closer to the implementation of your plan.

Do you want to earn 10,000 rubles by the end of next month? Decide what you need to do in order to find additional income or change your occupation.

Do you want to get rid of extra 15 kilograms in 7 months? Develop an individual training and diet plan. Do not use other people's developments, since only those classes that are designed specifically for you are suitable for achieving your goal.

Step 4. Removing obstacles

Ask yourself the question: “What is stopping me from getting what I want?” Write down the answers on a piece of paper and analyze them. And now proceed directly to the action.

Take care of yourself every day and stop the appearance of laziness, avoid wasting time communicating with unnecessary people. Mobilize your forces to achieve your goal and try not to be distracted by irritants.

Step 5. List the means to achieve the goals

The implementation of any goals requires certain costs: financial, energy, time. Next to each goal, make a list of tools that will help you get what you want faster. It could be money free time, strength to solve everyday problems.

Remember that on the way to achieving your goal, you will have to sacrifice something. Feel free to reduce daytime rest, replacing it with the study of issues that interest you. Try not to regret the time spent, convince yourself that all this is done for your benefit.

Step 6. Planning the day

What helps you set the right goals? You need to plan your day wisely. A well-defined daily routine helps to become more collected, planning allows you to spend your personal time more rationally.

To achieve your goal, you need to make a daily schedule. Within 24 hours, you should have time both to work on the task and to solve current problems. Do not forget to take into account the time spent on rest.

Step 7. Learn to be cheerful

Do not pay attention to small failures and troubles encountered on the way to achieving the goal. Set yourself up for the positive, look for the positive in everything, here the saying “everything that is done, everything is for the better” will play a big role for you.

Remember that the goal will be realized only if it carries a positive charge.

Step 8 Praise

As soon as you solve one of the microtasks, be sure to praise yourself. Encouragement even for small accomplishments helps faster and with less energy. Praise yourself for not being too lazy to work above the norm today.

Tell yourself that nothing is impossible for you, and soon you will see that this is true. Encouraging one's own actions increases a person's confidence and purposefulness. Only in everything you need to know the measure - do not overpraise yourself, otherwise the encouragement will begin to work exactly the opposite.

Can you make adjustments to your goals?

Absolutely yes. If the end result is planned for a long period of time (for example, from 2 to 5 years), then making small adjustments is appropriate here. This is due to the fact that the world is changing, and there is nothing permanent in it. Therefore, one should not set a goal that cannot be adjusted for a long period.

For example, if you want to buy an apartment in 7 years and decide to save all these years for such a large purchase, but do not take into account that force majeure may occur during this period, then the end result will not please you. Why? Yes, everything is simple: at some point you will need a large amount of money, and you will use your savings.

To avoid this, make small adjustments to your goal. For example, write that you need to create another, additional financial "airbag" in the form of an open bank account.

What to do if the achievement of the goal is disappointing?

In the process of implementing the task, some people are faced with the fact that the work done does not suit them, and the goal is no longer of interest to them. What to do in this situation?

Do not give up and think that the work done was useless. Note for yourself that you have gained tremendous experience and yet achieved what you once wanted. If you are completely disappointed in the goal, then start implementing a new one. Our whole life consists entirely of an endless series of beginnings and accomplishments, so try to always bring everything to the end. This will instill a sense of purpose in you.

Remember one important rule - never stop in the middle. Despite obstacles, condemnation from people, go to your intended goal and believe in yourself. Support yourself in all endeavors.

We will not be taught to set the right goals at school, parents will not be able to explain the process of competently setting a task for the future. You can understand how to achieve what you want only through your own trial and error, self-diagnosis and work on yourself.

We set goals daily, even every second. Drinking tea, getting to work on time, buying a car, getting a new position - these little things make up our day and our life in general. But not everything turns out as planned: tea ends unexpectedly, we are late for the bus, we don’t have enough cars for the model we like, and the authorities decide that there’s nothing to raise us for yet ... Irony of Fortune, failure? No matter how!

There is another type of people - those who are commonly called "lucky", "lucky". But is it a matter of Fortune's favor? No no and one more time no! Here you can’t say it better than Ann Landers: “A lucky break usually comes in disguise - in the clothes of hard work, so most people do not recognize him.” Those who achieve something in this life are not lucky, they are PURPOSE-oriented people moving towards success PURPOSELY. These are those whose life is built according to the principles of aging.

Aiming is a concept that came from the field of media games and was revived at the intersection of applied psychology and merchandising. The origins of the concept are in the game Quake, where it meant “aiming”, “guiding”. Today AIMING (from the English aim - “goal”) can be translated as “aspiration”, “goal setting”. This term means the art of achieving goals, a set of principles aimed at success. So, let's not delay - let's move on to the theory of aiming.

Stage one. Setting a goal is also an art. It would seem that the simplest action is actually not so easy, because we do not always see things objectively, getting entangled in causes and effects. Therefore, the first aiming principle sounds like this: the goal must be tangible or visualized, clearly formulated. At the same time, it should not interfere with the positive that is, and should not coincide with science fiction, like "I want to be Bill Gates." The goal must be achievable, corresponding to reality. To become this computer tycoon, you can only change your passport or undergo plastic surgery, as a result of which you will acquire the appearance of Bill. If you are more interested in the state of the president of Microsoft, then reformulate your goal as follows: “I want to earn a million dollars every month.” This way you have a chance of success.

Another important aiming rule is to avoid abstract concepts and denials, vague formulations, indicate exact numbers and dates! For example, “I want a lot of money” is not a goal. It is correct to say this: "I will buy a BMW X5 in 6 months."
It is useful to fix the visualization in a material form, for example, by placing a photo of the desired model on the desktop.

Stage two. Now we understand our goal path using the following algorithm:

Step 1. "I..." Describe the problem situation. (For example: "I have a low salary, this makes my life unhappy").

Step 2. "I will stop ..." - we find the reasons for our "misfortunes." (“I will stop working where my knowledge and skills are not valued enough in material terms,” etc.). Eliminating them is your job.

Step 3. “Instead, I will…” (“Instead, I will write a letter of resignation, take a refresher course, and find a job that pays me $10,000 a month,” etc.)

Step 4. “I want to be like…” There is always a person in your environment whom you can safely call an ideal: your former classmate, neighbor on the porch or… or even Putin! This person should become your guide on the way to your goal.

Step 5. “I want to have the following features: ...” - we list those features of the person whom you indicated in the previous paragraph. (Example: "I want to have the following traits: charisma, self-confidence, erudition and purposefulness").

Step 6. "I want to be more...". Name those qualities that you already have, but would like to develop.

Step 7. “If I got all these qualities, then ...” (For example, “If I got them, I would become more confident in myself, learn to defend my point of view, I would be more appreciated at work, etc. "")

Step 8. "When I achieve this, then I will feel ...". At the last step of our algorithm, you answer the question “What will happen when I reach the goal? What will I feel? When you clearly formulate the answer to this question, you will simultaneously receive your final goal - aim.

Once again, go through each step, correct the shortcomings, add what you forgot to indicate earlier. Ready? Now you can go further!

Stage three. The next step is to draw up a plan and determine the time for its implementation (3 years, 5 months or 21 days, etc.). Further, your plan is divided into several periods-stages (for example, for months), and those, in turn, are divided into shorter periods (weeks). The last level is making a plan for the next month, for each week, and finally for each day. The more detailed and detailed you write down your mini-goals, the better. And do not forget to indicate in your plan the sanctions for non-compliance with the points and, of course, encouragement.

Do not be too lazy to buy a "planner" or a weekly planner - by writing down your plans and their implementation daily, you will greatly facilitate your aim-movement towards the goal. In addition, the letters are the materialization of your movement, they are something more concrete, material, binding, like a contract with yourself. Structure your notes, write in neat block letters. Well, here are, perhaps, the main tips of aging ...

Now, to make it clearer to you, consider drawing up a plan using a specific example. Let's say your goal is to "buy an island in the Caribbean." The term is 2 years.

Your plan might look like this:
First year: quit your previous job (write an application, get a signature from your superiors and a calculation in the accounting department - we also indicate all the details), find a place where the salary is $ 10,000 per month. Work, work, work and save. Make a bank deposit. Second year: get a passport, a visa, find an agency that sells the islands, buy a piece of sushi you like, get the necessary citizenship and ... buy a one-way ticket! Each year is divided into half-years, which in turn are divided into months, weeks and days. Each of the stages must also be spelled out!

And finally, a few more postulates of amiing:
Constantly add something new, do not stop there.
Count only on yourself.
Eliminate from life that interferes with your goal. Do it ruthlessly and confidently.
Be decisive!
Look for creative solutions.
Reward yourself for each new victory.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Remember the words of Joan Collins: "Show me a man who has never made a mistake in his life, and I will show you a man who has achieved nothing."
Think positive. Ignore failures, perceive success as an indispensable, inseparable part of your new life.
Get used to success!

Man cannot live without a purpose, just as he cannot live without water and food. Everyone has a purpose in life. Even the one who sits on the couch all the time and drinks beer. It's just that his goal or "meaning" of life is to grow old on the couch with a close friend, cirrhosis, and surrounded by girlfriends of bottles. The outcome of the life of any person depends on how the setting of goals is carried out. That's about setting goals and I would like to talk to you today.

Before we talk about goal setting, let's find out what a goal is. We all know what it is, but we can't articulate it clearly. Perhaps this is due to the fact that each branch of science has its own definition of the term "goal". People often confuse concepts such as goal, dream and desire. They can be closely related and depend on each other. But these are still different concepts.
Desire generates a goal and makes you take action. But the desire can remain only the phrase “I would like to ..”, while the goal is always supported by actions.
A dream can consist of a chain of successive goals. A dream is something big, sometimes vague, so to speak, abstract and magical. But the goal always has a specific and clear formulation.
Goal setting is an important moment in the life of every person. Imagine that your life is a train that is speeding along the rails. But where is he going? If you do not give him a destination, then he will go nowhere until he exhausts his resources. And it turns out that his whole path will be empty and meaningless. However, if the train has a timetable and a clearly defined destination, then the entire train journey makes sense. But for this to happen, the right goal setting is necessary. Because even if the goal is set, but not formulated clearly enough, the actions aimed at its implementation may lead to a completely different result than you expected.

How to set goals so that they themselves work for your dream can be found in this article.
The importance of setting goals lies in the fact that if you have correctly identified and set goals for yourself, then they will enter your subconscious, program your brain (in the good sense of the word). Thanks to this, on a subconscious level, you will choose the right decisions, attract the right people to you. In other words, goal setting will help you choose the right direction in life for you, and will guide you on the right path in life.
It is not in vain that we focus on the subconscious, because, unlike consciousness, which sees the world in a narrow spectrum, it is able to more fully perceive information from the surrounding world.

Consequently, you get more useful and necessary information that will help you achieve success and goals. For example, passing by the announcement “work for young and promising people”, our consciousness may give out: “networkers again ...”. But the subconscious, having evaluated the information not only from the pole, but also, perhaps, by the “smell” of advertising, its color and aura, will push you to dial the mysterious number. You, obeying your intuition (inner voice, the call of the subconscious, the voice of the universe, etc.), dial the specified phone, and there really is a job that you need and suits you. So consciousness is only a primary processor of information coming from the outside world, and your subconscious mind does the main part of the work.

The second important aspect in goal setting is belief in the result. If you do not believe in what you are doing, then there will be no result. Because in the absence of faith in the result, your subconscious mind will ignore the goal, since this goal will be perceived as something alien, false. You must believe in your success and what you are doing. Only in this case, your subconscious mind will be able to help you choose the right decisions and go the right way.

American multimillionaire Andrew Carnegie said: “To become happy, you need to set yourself the most cherished goal that will completely and completely master all thoughts, free up energy and give hope.” Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy and many other successful people also claim that only well-defined goals will lead to success, wealth and fulfillment of desires. Is goal setting the main ingredient in the formula for success?

Why are goals needed?

A man without a goal is often compared to a ship that has gone out to sea without a team and a captain. How far can such a ship sail? The chance that he will sail to another port is zero. The best that awaits him is to run aground. Likewise, a person: floundering, floundering on the spot, but he does not know where to swim, because the goal is missing, it is difficult to reach the destination that is missing.

How much does a person need to be happy?

In an English university, teachers conducted an experiment. Graduates were invited to write about their future goals. And only 5% of students coped with this task. The rest could not formulate what they want. After 5 years, a survey was conducted among the same people. It turned out that students who set their goals on paper achieved them and even surpassed them. And their income in total exceeded the summed income of the remaining 95% of graduates.

Working on your goal - you will achieve success

In fact, many people do not see goals in life. Ask yourself the question: “What is my goal?” And then ask your relatives, friends, acquaintances to answer it. Some of them will find it difficult to answer at all, while the rest will mostly talk about their desires, but not goals. What is the difference between desire and goals? Desire is, in fact, just wanting something, dreams that are unlikely to come true just because they appeared in our head. A goal is a specific value that has a clear definition. This is the end result to which a person aspires, and for which he is ready to sacrifice his time.

If Vasya, lying on the couch, scratches his head and says: “Oh, I want to move to Moscow and be a director” ─ this is just a desire. But if he says that in a week he will go to Moscow, enter a university, graduate from it, work to the last sweat more and better than others, and in the future get the position of director ─ this is a goal with a plan to achieve it. In which case is Vasya more likely to become a director? It is obvious that in the first case, Vasya will remain on the couch, but in the second, if not immediately, he will achieve his goal.

The saddest thing is that most people with no goals are satisfied with simply lying on their favorite couch. They go to the same job for years, which they sometimes hate, endure the dictator-boss, barely make ends meet. They added a salary - good, no - well, okay, I'll manage. And yet they do not even try to change anything. Just as the participants in the DOM-2 TV show think that life does not exist outside the perimeter, so some people are sure that their office is the only place on the planet where money is paid.

This category of people comes up with all sorts of excuses. Like, I do not have start-up capital to start a business, talents, skills. I can't, I can't do anything. If everything were easy and simple, everyone would be rich, and so on. In fact, such reasoning is complete nonsense. People are simply afraid to leave their homes, they are not confident in themselves, in their abilities, they do not want to make any plans. And the main reason is elementary laziness, which encourages you to do nothing for your well-being.

Why are there no goals?

Goal setting is an art that needs to be learned. There is even a theory of setting goals and objectives, outlined by Edwin Loca. There are several reasons why people do not plan anything, do not set goals for themselves:

How to set the right goal?

The steps for goal setting are:

  • Definition of the main goal and large-scale goals that you want to achieve;
  • Crushing large goals into small ones that will help in achieving the final goals;
  • Work according to the plan to achieve the set goals.

Stage 1: Choosing Big Goals

  1. Correct goal setting is already the first step on the path to success, the fulfillment of desires and the realization of dreams depend on this. The first thing to do is to determine the most desirable goals for yourself. The most important thing is that these goals should be exclusively yours, the most cherished and intimate. Not imposed by parents, relatives, friends or the media. First you need to choose a long-term goal-dream. What you want more than anything in the world, what you dreamed about. Such a goal is chosen by the heart, even thoughts about it fill with extraordinary excitement, it should inspire.
  2. Having decided on the most important goal, you need to choose other equally important life goals that relate to family, career, finances, society, health, hobbies. Before setting a goal, you should ask yourself 5 questions:
    • Who I want to be?
    • What do I want to do?
    • What do I want to have?
    • What will happen when I receive it?
    • Will achieving my goals give me satisfaction?
  3. All goals must be written down, otherwise they will remain just desires, dreams. Correct wording is very important. It is correct to write about what you want, and not about what you do not want. “I will be rich”, “I will be slim”, “I will buy an apartment” is the correct wording. “Avoid poverty”, “get rid of extra pounds”, “I don’t want to live in a rented apartment” ─ this is the wrong wording of your goals. Words such as: “must, must, should” should be replaced with: “I want, I can, I will.”
  4. Goals must be specific. If you plan to improve your financial situation, then the phrase “I want a lot of money” does not carry any specifics. You must specify the exact amount you want.
  5. Goals must be realistic. If you set a goal that in a month I should receive 500,000 rubles, and at the moment I earn 50,000 rubles, then it is highly doubtful that in a few I will be able to increase income 10 times. To big money go gradually.
  6. It is necessary to set deadlines for achieving goals.
  7. When setting tasks for yourself to achieve your goal, you need to rely only on your own strength, so that in case of failure there is no temptation to blame others for this.

Stage 2: setting subgoals

When the goal is set, and there is a list of large-scale goals, it is necessary to make a plan for the next few years. Big goals are broken down into small ones, small ones into stages. It is necessary to clearly describe each step, each action that is planned to be taken. Setting goals and objectives will help you properly organize your time and resources in order to achieve the desired result.

You need to complete all the sub-goals in order to get to the main one.

For example, the goal is to buy a new apartment. It is necessary to determine its cost, to establish the period of its purchase. Then take a sober assessment of your income level and ask yourself what you can do to get closer to your goal. You need to write a clear and detailed plan of your actions, how to achieve your goal. How can you increase your income? Find a part-time job, learn another profession, get a promotion, etc. You may have to attend courses or trainings. This is breaking big goals into small ones.

Step-by-step instructions for achieving the goal

Goal setting and achievement is beautifully described by Brian Tracy in The Psychology of Achievement. Just 12 steps to achieve any goal. An effective technology has already been tested by several thousand people, even ardent skeptics, having tested it, have become adherents.

Step One: Create Desire

Strong and irresistible desire is the most powerful stimulus. If there is no desire, then nothing will happen, it is not natural for a person to take any action if he does not want it. A strong desire will help overcome all the fears that prevent people from fulfilling their dreams. It is very important to remember that everything we think about can increase. If we think about fear, it will completely consume us. If we want to achieve our goal, then we will definitely do it.

The first step is desire

When setting a goal, you need to think only about your desires and your dream. The dream must be yours. You need to know exactly what you want, who you want to be. It is necessary to determine the most important goal that can make you incredibly happy.

Step Two: Become Confident

Only 100% certainty that achieving the goal is possible will be able to use the subconscious and make him an ally. You need to be confident and firmly believe that the goal will be achieved, because you deserve it. The only condition is that the goals must be realistic. You should be aware that it is almost impossible to increase income several times over a month, but by 20-30% in six months is a completely feasible desire.

The second step is to gain confidence

It takes a lot of time to achieve global goals, so you need to understand that it will take perseverance, perseverance and patience. For example, you need to lose 15 kg. Theoretically, this is possible, but the damage to health will be very noticeable. And if you set yourself the goal of losing weight by 2 kg per month, then such a goal is easily achievable and the subconscious will believe in it. Goals should be challenging enough, they are what make us work and use our full potential. And at the same time, they must be real and plausible so that they can be believed in and be absolutely convinced of their achievement.
