Courses for young mothers from the employment center. A selection of paid and free training courses for moms on maternity leave

Women very often use the decree for self-development. Someone is attracted by creativity, someone by business, someone by training. Judging by the popularity of our article, this topic worries many mothers. Therefore, I would like to continue it and dwell in more detail on training during the decree. Moreover, 16% of the interviewed readers noted that it is this occupation that attracts them as an additional to child care. This turned out to be the second most popular answer. Only needlework turned out to be more popular.

For convenience, I suggest downloading the proposed list of sites, designed in an Excel spreadsheet.

I put this site in the first place, because I started my online education from it and have already completed several educational courses here. What did I like about the Universarium?

Firstly, it is easy to register and navigate the site.

Secondly, a fairly wide selection of free courses on a variety of topics: economics, culture, media, management, psychology, and much more. Personally, I took a course on online journalism, marketing and project management. I signed up for a time management course.

Thirdly, the project has a free application, by downloading which you can view lectures anywhere from your gadget. This is very convenient when you have a child, and a family, and work, and snatching a free minute is not so easy. The application has a minus - you cannot take tests, and lectures viewed in the application are not marked in the profile as viewed.

Fourth, it's really FREE. All courses on the site are free, but in fairness it must be said that you still have to pay extra for advanced courses. For example, the project management course I reviewed was only partly free. Those who wanted to receive additional lectures, consultations and a webinar, as well as undergo additional testing, were offered to pay an additional 4900 rubles. But at the same time, if you score a certain number of points, you can get an additional certificate.

So, choose the right course. Sign up and wait for it to start. Usually each course has a specific start and end time. But you can join the training at any time, since lectures are available for the entire duration of the training and even a month after the end of the course.

Each course is divided into modules. At the end of the module, students are invited to take a test and do their homework, for which points will be awarded. If you complete the entire course, you will even be given a certificate. True, only in electronic form, but it will be quite possible to use it for a resume.

University for those who want to get an online profession. It trains programmers, web designers, Internet marketers, as well as managers in the field of Internet projects. Professions are really in demand at the moment. Another plus of these professions (especially for mothers on maternity leave) is that you can get a job with them remotely.

As for training in netology, it has its pros and cons.

A huge plus is that virtual students are taught by teachers - practitioners. These are people working in the Internet business in significant positions. They have achieved certain results, gained good experience and share it with students. You will definitely learn practical skills from such teachers, and will not be doused with theoretical "water. In addition, you will use in practice everything that you will be taught there, and teachers will check and evaluate it.

Another plus is that upon successful completion of the courses, you will receive a certificate of advanced training and a Netology diploma. These documents, according to the founders of the project, are highly valued by market participants.

The downside is the cost. Education in netology is paid and not cheap. A full-fledged educational course will cost about 20,000 -25,000 rubles (depending on the course and its duration). You can watch individual video lectures if you do not need a whole course, but want to delve into one specific topic. Such video lectures usually cost 490 rubles. There is also free content. Netology offers some video lectures as trial ones, that is, absolutely free. They take place at a certain time, you also need to sign up for them, but then you can understand the level of teaching and decide whether it is worth spending your money on paid education in Netology.

Netology has also developed a mobile application that is designed to make learning here more convenient and mobile. But, at the moment, the application is not very convenient. It has a low rating among those who downloaded it. People complain that the player is not convenient - it does not allow you to pause and watch the video from the place where you left off. Many people cannot view lectures from a mobile phone that they paid for from a computer. And for some, including me, the video is simply not viewed. I hope this is a temporary phenomenon and the developers will eliminate all the inconveniences of the application.

The rapidly growing online English language school is striking in numbers: more than 5,000 teachers, more than 2.5 million lessons have been conducted since the school was founded, about 34 thousand students are currently studying. The school has many advantages, but I will describe those that are especially convenient for moms studying on maternity leave:

    • free testing of the service - the first lesson is free
    • you can free of charge: cancel, reschedule the lesson, and also change the teacher if for some reason he did not fit
    • the school is licensed: a certificate is issued upon completion of training
    • all exercises are posted online, access to them is not limited
    • There is 24/7 customer support
  • has its own mobile application in which you can learn words in your free time

Intuit National Open University is another platform for online learning. Here you can improve your skills, take professional retraining courses, Mini-MBA, school courses and many other educational courses. Topics are varied. What did I like? Here you can learn different programs. For example, 1C, Photoshop, 3Ds-max and many others. These practical skills are often not taught even in universities, while they are essential in real work.

Cons: Personally, I don't really like their interface. I think it's kind of outdated. But this is a matter of taste.

Payment: some courses are paid, some are free. Moreover, there are quite a lot of free ones, which cannot but rejoice.

Coursera offers free online courses from universities around the world. If you speak English, then you have excellent opportunities to gain world-class knowledge. Here you can listen to lectures from such powerful world Universities as Stanford, Michigan, California, Washington.

But for those who do not speak English so well, there is also something to learn in Coursera. In the "Educational institutions" section, select "Russia" and you will see a list of universities that offer their online courses.

Most courses on topics: business, computer science, data science. But you can also find courses in medicine, mathematics, music, languages.

The courses are mostly paid, but here's the system: you can watch lectures for free, but in order to pass the test and get a certificate, you will need to pay for the training.

By the way. For all courses, there is a so-called "financial aid", within which you can study for free. But for this you need to fill out a special questionnaire and go through the procedure for accessing assistance.

This e-learning platform was formed in 2013. Today on Zillion you can find a wide variety of courses that you can take online while on maternity leave.

Directions:

  • marketing
  • sales
  • business and finance
  • staff development
  • personal effectiveness

Upon completion of any of the courses, you will receive an electronic certificate. which can be attached, for example, to your LinkedIn profile.

The courses are not free, but not very expensive either - from 250 per course. Some courses can be previewed before purchase: watch the introductory part and decide if you want to watch further.

Since the Tichpro educational portal was developed with the support of the Foundation for Assistance to the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere, education here is partially free. Of course, there is also paid content, but free courses are more than enough!

Indeed, the choice of topics, courses, programs for training is huge. Here you can learn foreign languages and programming languages, master various programs (for example, Photoshop, Coral, Illustrator) and even refresh your school knowledge (a wide range of school programs is presented).

This online university caters to student entrepreneurs. But I am sure that among women on maternity leave, there are many business women who want to develop their business and study in this direction. For such and such mothers, the Webuni project is suitable.

There are both paid and free lessons on doing business and personal development. After you complete the training, you will have to take a final test. If you write the test successfully, you will receive an electronic certificate, which will be sent to you by mail.

This educational project is designed more for companies than for individual independent students. Perhaps among my readers there are owners of their own business who will be interested in such a project. Here you can register your company and get a 14-day free demo. The training formats are very interesting, the training is maximally aimed at practical usefulness for business.

Well, our selection of sites offering distance learning for mothers on maternity leave (and not only for them) will be completed by the Open Education website. Here you can watch training courses from the leading universities of the country ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE. A huge plus of this site is that distance courses are taught by university professors, professionals in their field. In addition, in Open Education you can find very interesting rare topics that are not found anywhere else.

Another interesting and very convenient site option for many is the opportunity to credit a course at your university. If you are on maternity leave, but did not suspend your studies because of this, then it will be very convenient to view the course at home without looking up from the baby and credit it at the university.

So, that's it! I hope this selection will help all mothers on maternity leave get the necessary free online education and apply it to business.

If you don’t have time to check all the educational resources right now, I remind you that the list of all the sites mentioned in this post can be found in the Excel file, which can be downloaded absolutely free just below or at the beginning of the article. Save it to your computer or phone, then you can safely go through the sites and choose the right one for you!

And finally, I propose to participate in a survey on the topic

Each person can find himself in a difficult life situation and, as a result, receive the status of unemployed. This is facilitated by various factors: downsizing, voluntary dismissal, graduation from a university or college.

Dear readers! The article talks about typical ways to solve legal issues, but each case is individual. If you want to know how solve exactly your problem- contact a consultant:

APPLICATIONS AND CALLS ARE ACCEPTED 24/7 and 7 days a week.

It's fast and IS FREE!

For any category of people who are looking for a job, the doors to the employment center are open. In addition to state social payments, the temporarily unemployed have the opportunity to take training, retraining and advanced training courses.

Legal basis

According to Article 37 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, any citizen has the right to protection from unemployment. Article 38 allows the unemployed to count on social benefits, provided that the citizen is registered at the employment center and considered officially unemployed.

To be awarded such a status, a Russian must show a desire to find employment and agree to a suitable job offered by the Employment Center (hereinafter referred to as EPC).

An offer that corresponds to the age, state of health, work experience and qualifications of the applicant is considered suitable.

Unsuitable will be a vacancy associated with a change of residence without the consent of a citizen, with a salary below the average salary of a person received over the past 3 months at his last place of work.

The condition does not apply to applicants whose earnings before dismissal were higher than the average monthly salary of a working person in the region.

Functions of the labor exchange

The main objective of the exchange is to provide jobs for the maximum number of job seekers.

To do this, the staff of the CZN must:

  • analyze and predict supply and demand for the working part of the population;
  • accounting for the number of vacancies and demand for them;
  • consulting people about their capabilities and requirements of the company;
  • assistance not only in finding a job, but also in finding employees for the organization;
  • The CZN is obliged, if necessary, to organize training courses for a citizen in special training centers, and the exchange will also help with the choice of their specialization;
  • pay unemployment benefits at the time of finding a suitable job;
  • EPC must also prepare job offers for foreign citizens

You need to know that not everyone can get the status of unemployed. There are 2 conditions: working age and the ability to perform a particular job.

Who can get through

As of 2019, the following categories of citizens have the opportunity to take free courses at the Employment Center:

  • disabled people;
  • parents or adoptive parents raising disabled minors;
  • a person who is looking for a job and has been registered with the stock exchange for more than 6 months;
  • student of any educational institution;
  • a retired soldier;
  • a military man who served on conscription, but was fired within 3 years;
  • a person with no qualifications.

preferential right

There are categories of people who can qualify for preferential status when applying for unemployment benefits. For example, orphans. If the applicant confirms his preferential status, he will be assigned unemployment benefits in a special amount.

When a person reaches the age of 23, if a suitable job has not yet been found, the person loses his preferential status, from that moment he will receive benefits on the same terms as the rest.

Another privileged category are the disabled. But only a disabled person of the 3rd group can apply for special conditions. To do this, he needs to confirm his illness officially and apply to the exchange with the necessary documents. There he will be assigned an increased allowance and will be helped with the selection of suitable vacancies.

What courses are offered

In addition, the employment center offers training in almost any specialty. Among them are about 100 options for working specialists and about 80 business specializations.

Below are the most common specialties in which the applicant will be able to receive free training:

  • the hairdresser;
  • security activities;
  • accountant;
  • elevator service;
  • tourism manager;
  • nursing;
  • cook;
  • programmer;
  • category B and C driver, as well as a tram and trolleybus driver;
  • tailor;
  • warehouse and transport logistics.

Passed courses give a guarantee for successful employment, a person is issued a certificate of qualification.

For mums on maternity leave

The labor exchange has created a special program under which a mother who is on maternity leave for a child under 3 years old and officially employed can receive additional education, take retraining courses, or acquire other skills.

Training, depending on the chosen specialization, can take place at any university or other educational institution that cooperates with the ESC.

Even if the applicant is offered to study in a neighboring city, there is no need to worry, all payments for travel and accommodation will be covered by the exchange. Training can take place in person, in absentia, in the evening and even remotely.

For registration, you must submit an application, passport, birth certificate and a document confirming your employment and parental leave to the employment center.

Below is a list of courses for which maternity leave is possible:

  • accountant;
  • 1C specialist;
  • computer coder;
  • Web Designer;
  • programmer;
  • personnel management.

A complete list of professions can be clarified by contacting the CZN at the place of residence.

How to enroll

After registration, a citizen needs to consider a job that will be periodically offered and, within three days, appear for an interview at the specified organization.

If during the year the applicant cannot choose a suitable job, he will have to accept any vacancy that does not require any skills.

Note that if a person refuses several offered vacancies, the payment of benefits will stop. As well as if you do not visit the EC at the set time.

What documents are needed

List of required papers:

Learning features

The term of study is set from 1 to 6 months, depending on the chosen specialty. Groups of volunteers are recruited and sent to an educational institution. During the training, you need to regularly attend them, if the student does not attend classes without a good reason, he will be excluded from the group.

How is the study allowance paid?

If you were sent to take courses from the Employment Center, then at the time of training you are required to receive a scholarship equal to the amount of your unemployment benefit.

When you complete the courses, you will need to pass an exam, after successfully passing it, you will be assigned the status of a specialist in the chosen field. Payments will be accrued to you until the end of training and subsequent employment.

There are a number of reasons why your allowance or scholarship will stop:

  1. The student arbitrarily refused to study.
  2. deduction.
  3. period of illness.
  4. Maternity leave.

Advantages and disadvantages

The training provided by the exchange has a number of advantages:

  • the opportunity to learn the necessary profession;
  • do it not only for free, but also receiving benefits;
  • providing new skills;
  • the ability to completely change the scope of activity;
  • high probability of subsequent employment;
  • obtaining a certificate of training after its completion;
  • the exchange has a special program for the disabled and those with a criminal record

But there is also the other side of the issue. First, exchange employees are rarely interested in what you want to learn at the moment. You will be offered the currently available seats. And if this does not suit you, you will have to wait for recruitment for a profession that is convenient for you.

The second point is not the fact that you will wait for it - if the specialty is narrow, it is likely that the exchange will not provide you with the opportunity to study it.

If you refuse the job offered several times, you may be deregistered, in which case you will not be able to complete the training at all. If a suitable vacancy is offered, it is likely that it will not suit the applicant with the salary.

Among other things, the employment center may offer to implement a citizen's business idea. For implementation, it is necessary to provide an accurate plan for the development of the future business. This is a fundamental factor, after reviewing the plan, the commission will determine whether the idea has the possibility of implementation in your city, and calculate the approximate income.

And if the idea is relevant, they will allocate a grant for development, which you will not need to return. There is also a chance to get an additional preferential loan if the business idea is approved.

Please note that the employment center provides only a part of the required amount for the first investment in development.

The rest you need to earn yourself. You can only receive a grant once. After approval, it is necessary to conclude an agreement on the provision of payment.

Studying on parental leave is doubly beneficial. Firstly, you will be able to master a new specialty or deepen your knowledge in an existing one, thanks to training for mothers on maternity leave, and secondly, do not let your brain relax too much.

Education for mothers on maternity leave: where to start and where to go?

If you already have a higher education, on maternity leave you can improve your skills or learn a new profession if your previous job did not suit you in some way. At the same time, the necessary courses can be taken both remotely and offline.

Education for mothers on maternity leave is organized en masse by the Employment Center, to which you belong at the place of your registration. As a rule, this government agency offers moms to learn such professions that are in demand on the labor market, such as an accountant, a trade specialist, a hairdresser, a makeup artist, a manicurist, a seamstress, a clerk, a computer designer and some others.

In this case, training for you will be organized completely free of charge. The main thing is to decide on the specialty of interest and contact the Employment Center with the following documents: an application according to the established model, a passport and its photocopy, a child's birth certificate, official confirmation from the place of work that you are on maternity leave to care for the baby.

The training itself will take place in various universities and other educational institutions that cooperate with your Employment Center. Your class schedule will be set on an individual basis.

If you do not have the opportunity to leave the child with someone, pay attention to distance courses on the Internet, which can be taken both for a fee and for free. Again, first decide what new activity you would like to turn into a source of income, and then search the Internet for suitable courses.

At home, by the way, it is very comfortable to undergo training also for the reason that you do it at any time convenient for you.

Education for mothers on maternity leave: my experience

When I first went on maternity leave, I already roughly imagined what I would like to do. Firstly, I was attracted by the creation of my own content site, and secondly, I wanted to master financial consulting.

In December 2015, I attended a face-to-face intensive course with a well-known financial expert and head of the Center for Financial Culture Roman Argashokov, and a couple of days after the seminar I applied for an independent financial advisor distance course organized by the Financial Planning Institute.

In just a couple of months, I successfully completed this course, although it was designed for a year, defended my graduation thesis and received a certificate (document number in the All-Russian Register of Counselors: 15/NFS/235). Now I draw up a personal financial plan for my clients, an investment portfolio in accordance with their risk profile, analyze and optimize their expenses and incomes, help clients decide on the most optimal lending program for them, and also give recommendations on tax optimization.

In addition, while on maternity leave, I also mastered an online course on creating a site on WordPress and SEO content optimization. Thanks to this, the project “The Art of Being Happy on Decree!” was born.

I would like to note that if you strongly strive to develop, you can always find time for training for mothers on maternity leave. Have you already mastered some new profession while sitting with a baby? If yes, be sure to write about it in the comments to this article! Let other mothers be inspired by our achievements too!

Becoming a mother, it is easy to get lost in caring for a child and fall behind colleagues who at this time continue to improve in the profession. To make returning to work less painful, you can use maternity leave to get additional education or “reboot” your own career.

For career and depression

Family psychologist and Gestalt therapist Anna Devyatka believes that education received on maternity leave is not only an auxiliary boost for a career, but also a remedy for depression.

“The problem of maternity leave is information hunger, which replaces the working rhythm and busy schedule. At first, the mother takes care of the child almost around the clock, but over time, the son or daughter grows up, and more and more time is released. At the same time, the woman is busy with “useful” things - washing, ironing, cleaning the apartment, and life is slowly turning into a routine. Depression and reflection creep in: did she really want such a life and could she devote at least part of her time to herself, to do what she likes? The idea to engage in self-development, advanced training and the development of professional skills on maternity leave is very successful, ”says Anna Devyatka.

During parental leave, a woman has the opportunity to think about her career: what skills can be improved, whether it is worth changing her profession. The answers to these questions will help you understand what exactly is worth studying.

New profession for free

For help in career guidance, you can contact the employment center of your city. They will also help those who decide to improve their skills or change their specialty. Contrary to popular belief, not only the unemployed are accepted there. Special work is carried out with women who are on parental leave: they are offered to take refresher courses free of charge or change their profession through a retraining program. The list of specialties that can be taught is extensive and differs in different employment centers. For example, you can learn the profession of an accountant, tailor, manicurist, hairdresser, cook, estimator, translator or designer.

Hope is the mother of two sons. While on parental leave for the second time, she completed courses in the direction of the employment center as a hairdresser-universal. The training took 4 months.

“Before maternity leave, I worked as a cashier. Right now I'm still at home, but I hope to change my direction after I leave my vacation. It was not difficult to get into the group: I called the employment service and asked if there were places. I collected the necessary documents, concluded an agreement with the employment service that I am undergoing training, and they pay for it. And a week later, classes began. There was only one surprise - I had to buy tools for a total of about 10,000 rubles, ”says Nadezhda.

To get a referral for training, you should contact the employment center at the place of registration. You can get an education in any educational institution that cooperates with the ETC. A list of specific courses and training programs can be found in the employment center itself or on its website. If a suitable place of study is found only in a neighboring settlement, they will also help pay for the road.

Having decided, you need to collect documents:

Application (a sample can be taken at the employment center),

Passport or equivalent document,

Birth certificate of the child or children,

A document related to work and confirming that you are on parental leave (a work book or a copy certified at work, and a certificate stating that the mother is really on maternity leave).

After checking the documents, the schedule and duration of classes are determined, and an agreement on vocational training is concluded between the employment center, the educational institution and the participant of the program. The duration of such courses is no more than 6 months, you can study in a group or individually, during the day or in the evenings. You can complete the training once during the parental leave (for three years).

Nadezhda notes that the hairdressing courses were organized in such a way that mothers had time to master not only theory, but also practice.

“Training took place 4 days a week for 4-5 hours a day. There were two shifts: from 9 am to 1 pm or from 2 pm to 6 pm. So everyone has chosen a convenient schedule for themselves. The first 2–3 weeks was only theory, then practical classes began. Clients are people who are ready to entrust their hair to students, for which many thanks to them! For them, everything was free, except for the spent materials (shampoos, dyes, care products). By the way, there were a lot of people who wanted to get a free order on their heads. During the work we were supervised by the master. At the end of the training, they passed an exam in theory and practice. It was interesting, I didn't want to leave. Will I recommend to my friends? Of course!"

The disadvantages of this type of training are that it is impossible to choose a specific specialty on your own - the options are selected at the employment center, albeit focusing on the needs and qualifications of the woman, as well as the demand for the profession in the labor market. The list of courses may not include the specialty of interest, or it turns out that the enrollment for it is closed, and the next one will not be soon. And most importantly, such training is impossible if there is absolutely no one to leave the child with.

Without leaving home

What if there is no one to entrust the care of the baby during classes? The obvious solution in this case is online courses, of which there are many on the network.

One of the most famous sites offering to master the programs of the famous universities of the world without leaving home - Coursera. You can study here for free. If you definitely need to get a certificate of completion of the course, you will have to pay, but even in this case it is possible to ask the portal for "financial assistance" by filling out the application form on the site. Many courses are held in English and are suitable for those who already speak it well.

Russian brother of a popular online university - Universarium. Studying in the courses is free, but even here you will have to pay for a certificate, a webinar or a personal consultation with a teacher.

edX is a non-profit project of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Again, suitable for English speakers. Obtaining a personal certificate requires donations (the student decides how much he is ready to give), however, you can choose the option of free education and obtaining a certificate without indicating the name of the owner with the possibility of checking his data on the site. It offers a huge number of courses and programs in a variety of areas.

A variety of courses in Russian or with Russian subtitles are offered by Postnauka, Arzamas, Netology, Lectorium, TED. The list of free services does not include practical classes and certificates, but you can turn on the video recording of the lecture and watch even with a child in your arms.

The main disadvantage of online courses is the temptation to forever postpone their development until later. To prevent this from happening, it is important to remember the goal.

“A clearly understood motive and understanding of the preferences that education will give help to bring education to the end. For example, studying an online course in accounting, a woman understands that she is investing time, effort, money, and for her efforts she will eventually receive a certificate of completed training and an advantage in her resume. Understanding the goal helps you plan your schedule and allocate time for learning. It is good at first to choose different times for classes and test when it is more convenient and easier to perceive information. A clear goal also helps to prioritize and get involved in learning more easily, even at home. Think about what tasks can wait - like endless ironing and cleaning - and do things that are an investment in your future and your child's future. Education affects the earnings and the general standard of living of the whole family, and that is why it is the best investment in yourself,” says Anna Devyatka.

Women's education is given special attention not only by government agencies. For those who are ready to invest in themselves, there are paid programs that offer women to study in conditions that are comfortable for them - professional courses for girls. The subjects of such courses are themselves gender-neutral - for example, screenwriting or coding. Interface developer Vasilika Klimova became a teacher of coding for girls after noticing that most of her colleagues are men.

“Two years ago I started teaching web basics courses. The organizers noticed that more girls studied with me than with other teachers - there were almost 50 to 50 in one stream. And we decided to hold a special course for girls, at the same time adopting the experience of other countries where courses and meetups for girls have long been common. There is such a stereotype: technical professions are more for guys. To make girls feel more comfortable in learning completely new disciplines, we create our own lamp atmosphere. Agree that it can be annoying for some to spend 5 years of study at the university among the same guys. But now in Russia it is almost like that. In the specialty where I studied, there were 4 girls for 50 boys. A unique approach in a group for girls is not needed. The main thing that needs to be conveyed is that if you want, you will achieve everything. It doesn’t matter in what area,” says Vasilika Klimova.

Teachers and students are sure that women are really more comfortable acquiring new knowledge in the company of each other. The psychologist also confirms this.

“In my opinion, there are no strong differences between male and female education,” comments Anna Devyatka. - The words “for girls” are rather a marketing ploy that gives women additional psychological support, confidence that they can handle even such complex things as coding, because the course is just for them. There are also special courses designed for women on maternity leave, balanced in terms of workload and designed so that a young mother will be able to manage both the child and advanced training.”

In addition to the fact that you have to pay for courses for women, they also have a potentially weak point: having studied in the comfortable company of other girls, you still have to work in the real world, and, in particular, with men.

Whatever format of education a woman chooses, it is important to take into account her own capabilities: age and health, the needs of the child, the availability of outside help, and also understand why she should invest her time and energy in education, and how it will be useful in the future. Then science will definitely be for the future.

Many current young mothers, even while on parental leave, try to lead an active life and do not want to be confined only to the house. They also manage to learn, develop comprehensively and take care of themselves. One can only wonder how and when they succeed. It is for such mothers that there are professional training courses.

Who will benefit?

Courses for young mothers have appeared in our country for quite a long time and were invented in order to help women restore their qualifications or even acquire new professional skills that will be useful in an old position or when changing jobs.

Parental leave is now quite long. And getting out of it is sometimes scary: in three years, some knowledge has been thoroughly forgotten, others have become completely irrelevant. And if the work was also unloved or there was so much to go to it that it would be faster to fly abroad, then the prospects for returning to duty may seem bleak to young mothers. And if you are one of those who think about work with longing or fear, then perhaps it's time to pass vocational training courses. Moreover, the state provides such an opportunity to women who are on parental leave for up to three years is free.

How to get?

If your leave to care for a child up to three years has not yet expired, and you are thirsty for new knowledge, go to the Employment Center at your place of residence. There you will need to write an application. This will require you to specify:

Full name of the organization in which you work (where you went on parental leave); labor relations with a legal entity, regardless of the organizational and legal form, an individual registered as an individual entrepreneur, and a peasant (farmer) economy are taken into account;

Profession (specialty) in which they worked before the parental leave;

Profession in which you wish to receive vocational training or additional vocational education.

Having gathered at the Employment Center, do not forget to take all the necessary documents:

1. Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation (or a document replacing it) and a copy of it.

2. Birth certificate of the child you are on maternity leave and a copy of it.

3. A certificate from the place of work and a copy of the order on being on parental leave until the child reaches the age of three years. A certified copy of the employment record may also be required. If you are unemployed, you can take a training program for the unemployed. In this case, do not forget the work book (if you have one).

4. Documents on education and their copies.

If a woman who wants to undergo training is disabled, then she may also be required to have an individual rehabilitation program containing recommendations for vocational training or additional vocational education.

What will help?

The assistance of employment centers will not be limited to sending them to vocational training courses. If you are still at a loss and cannot understand who you want to work for, then you will be offered to take a vocational orientation test. In addition, you will be provided with information about the situation on the labor market and the most popular and in-demand professions.

How is the training going?

Mothers are trained in educational centers, colleges and even universities, with which a particular Employment Center has contracts. Therefore, the list of offered professions is different everywhere. You can choose both a specialized specialty and a completely new one. The list of educational institutions is easy to find in the Employment Center or on its website.

Training is conducted in full-time or evening (part-time) form, most often in groups. Some employment centers offer distance learning.

You won’t have to study for a long time, the courses are short-term, no longer than six months, usually 2-3 months. Upon completion of training, a state document is issued.

We have already mentioned that education for women is completely free. Moreover, if you have to go to study in another area, then you will be paid transportation costs from the place of residence to the place of study and back, and even accommodation.

Let me teach!

The list of professions that moms can get is not too long, but still many will find interesting options. According to the observations of employees of employment centers, recently the professions of the service sector are more popular than others: manicurist, cosmetologist, hairdresser, cashier, florist and others. Young mothers willingly choose specialties related to computers: computer design and graphics, programming, etc. But there are also those who are interested in accounting and budgeting.

Fly in the ointment (alas, not one)

As you can see, courses for moms are a good and useful idea that can interest many. However, there are also "aggravating circumstances":

Before the end of parental leave, you need not only to have time to enroll in courses, but also to complete your studies. Therefore, if you have nothing left before “day X”, you will either have to forget about vocational training courses, or postpone them until the leave to care for the next child.

Courses for moms are very intensive, most likely, you will be offered the option of a five-day study week with six to eight hours of employment. And only those mothers who have someone to leave their children can afford this option.

In some regions, you can only go through retraining, and you will not be able to get a new profession. At the same time, employees of employment centers refer to a lack of funding or misuse of funds (this happens if the profession chosen by a woman and her education are far from each other). But you can still try to fight for your rights.

The choice of professions is usually small: 5-6 options, but there are exceptions. True, sometimes it takes a long time to wait for a group to be recruited for the specialty you are interested in. If you are very interested in this profession, you can, of course, wait, the main thing is that during this time the parental leave does not end.

You can go through training only once, improve yourself many times and be educated at the expense of the state will not work.

You should apply for training at the Employment Center only in the territorial entity in which you have permanent registration (however, some employment centers agree to accept women with temporary registration).

If a woman works at home or on a part-time basis, then she will not be able to undergo training.

They can also refuse if a woman has medical contraindications for engaging in a particular profession.

If you fit the reference image of the program participant in all respects (see above), then feel free to try yourself in a new business. What if, thanks to this, you will find the job of your dreams, well, or at least be able to cut your loved ones on your own or make bouquets professionally?
