The upper trigram symbolizes the external as well as the activity directed outward, therefore the increase that is meant here cannot be directed exclusively to its own benefit. Here, more than anywhere else, necessity emerges. To direct the increase to the people around, especially to people who are inferior in any sense. Here it is necessary, as the text says, to do good to people. But help from outside would be only a distortion of this help, if the one who showed mercy asked the people who received something from him about whether they were well. Such assistance would give the impression, after all, of selfish action. If a person can refrain from doing this and performs great deeds for others disinterestedly, then, in the end, this raises his own moral qualities. In this sense, the text says here: Strong feature in fifth place. Possessing the truth, you will benefit the hearts of people, but do not ask them about it. Primal happiness. Possession of the truth will also benefit your own virtues.

The nature of the action of this position has already been noted by us when considering the third position. This is also the provision of benefit and assistance to others, but this assistance is provided in a peculiar way, not so much by directly increasing their merits, as by obstructing their actions. However, if a person acting from this position were to seek only to put up obstacles, then he would not be on the right track. Inertia in this regard would be detrimental to oneself, for those around him would perceive not so much his peculiar educational activity as his severity, bordering on cruelty. That's why the text says here: Above is a weak feature. Nothing will increase it, and, perhaps, it will break it. When educating hearts, do not be inert. Otherwise - misfortune.
