Situations unfold in such a way that, finally, chaos sets in, but chaos is seen not as the decay of what has been created, but as infinity, as the possibility of endless creativity all over again. Chaos appears here not as something negative, but as an environment in which something completely new can be created.

Undoubtedly, this new creativity must pass according to the laws (and from the point of view of the authors of the Book of Changes, according to the same laws that were indicated above). This is seen as cyclical in the "Book of Changes". While a person is going through chaos, the only thing he can hold on to is himself, because in chaos there is nothing to rely on. In the second position, which just characterizes the inner life of a person and his isolation, he must completely hold on to himself, preserve himself. So the text here says:

Strong trait in second place. Stop the wheels. Resilience is a blessing.

But here comes the way out. It cannot but come, and the third position characterizes it. But here, when “the end is not yet”, in fact, nothing has been achieved yet and there is still not enough strength. The campaign that would have been undertaken on the basis of this position could only be unsuccessful.

And yet, the necessity of this exit outside, the necessity of undertaking a new cycle of creativity is so strong here that the position itself favors it. The inconsistency of this position is expressed in the inconsistency of the aphorism attributed to it:

Weak trait in third place. It's not over yet. Walking is unfortunate. Favorable ford across the great river.

A necessary condition for the work that can be undertaken in this position is that stamina that indicates the fullness of strength. Only she can lead to a successful outcome. But this steadfastness has before it not a calm environment, but excited chaos, and it is precisely against this that man must act here.

Let great labors await him, let him be forced to fight for a long time, but if he continues to fight, remaining steadfast, then everything in the world, the whole world, encoded in the image of a great kingdom, will approve of his activities. Against all the forces of darkness he must speak here. And the Book of Changes advises him:

Strong feature in fourth place. Resilience is a blessing. Repentance will disappear. When shocked, one must attack the land of demons. And after three years there will be praise from the great kingdom.

Fortitude, characterized in the previous step, is here the central feature of a person. She gives him nobility. And this nobility, as from a certain center, can radiate to the whole environment, ennobling it. The essence of this inner nobility lies in the harmony that is emphasized by the middle position in the upper trigram.

This is inner truth. That it should radiate and shine is indicated by the fact that this trait is central to the trigram of radiance. So, here, within the limits of darkness and chaos, the inner truth shines, illuminating everything around, and this indicates the possibility of further manifestation of light, i.e. creativity. In other words, here is given the starting point for a new cycle, starting again in the first hexagram of creativity. The text can be understood in this sense:

Weak trait in fifth place. Resilience is unfortunate. There will be no remorse. If there is truth with the brilliance of a noble person, then there will be happiness.

After what has already been achieved in the previous position, only the appeasement of old age remains. If a person did not have time to start creativity in time, then before him, as an opportunity, all that remains is to find satisfaction in a calm feast. In order to reach such a feast, one must possess many forces, one must possess inner truthfulness.

A person cannot be blamed for inaction here, and no one will blaspheme him for this. He deserved his peace. But if he took any action when the time for this action had already passed, then he would be overwhelmed by the forces of chaos with his head. Everything would be lost to them. So the text says:

Above is a strong feature. Have truth when you pour wine. There will be no bullshit. If you get your head wet, then even if you have the truth, you will lose this truth.

You are standing in front of a "crossing over a large river", the hexagram emphasizes the state of affairs before action, before setting off; it is not yet the time to take the first step, now is the time to collect and double-check everything you need. This is not the time to act, but it is worth thinking about the future, the end point of the path, possible options for using the benefits received. The I Ching is quick to warn that this is just as important as the beginning. Not everyone is able to withstand success, hold large funds in their hands, and not be arrogant from fame and popularity.
