We're introducing the first public test of Update 1.1 with the Second Front Personal Mission campaign, the Polish tank branch, new and updated maps, and more.

Personal combat missions: "Second Front"

The long-awaited new personal combat mission campaign "Second Front" is here. Three combat operations with different mission conditions and three new tanks as the main reward. This campaign will be a serious challenge, and the completion of tasks will be generously rewarded.

"Second Front" will be available to all players. If you haven't completed the first campaign, you will be able to complete both sets of objectives at the same time. After the release of Update 1.1, we plan to gradually open operations: the first one will be available immediately, then the second one will appear for those who completed it, and the third one will appear some time after the release.

"Second Front" is a new challenge for your gaming skills. In the three operations of this campaign, personal combat missions will have a different set of conditions:

  • First operation: you need to fulfill a certain condition for an unlimited number of battles (for example, inflict 10,000 damage over any number of battles). The tasks are cumulative and will require diligence.
  • The second operation: it is necessary to fulfill a certain condition in one battle. Very similar to the tasks from the first campaign: you have to show how cool you can be in one battle.
  • Third operation: stability is a sign of mastery. You will have to show a consistent result in a series of battles (for example, maintain a certain average damage in ten battles in a row).

There are no strict restrictions on vehicle classes in the new Personal Missions campaign. Instead, national associations will appear, on whose vehicles you need to complete tasks - one chain (15 tasks) per operation for each of them. There are four in total:

  • Union: USSR and China.
  • Block: Germany and Japan.
  • Alliance: USA, UK and Poland.
  • Coalition: France, Sweden, Czechoslovakia and Italy.

As part of the Second Front, three completely new vehicles with unique features will be rewarded. Here they are:

British Tier VI Tank Destroyers Excalibur

A machine created as part of a British project, collectively known as "Beetles" due to the unusual shape of the hull.

You will receive not only these cars, but also other in-game items, as well as a female crew.

You can track the progress of tasks right in battle using the key Tab or N. This feature will only be available for new tasks within the Second Front, but we plan to add this feature to the first campaign as well.

New cards

Minsk

The map is at the stage of final optimization and improvements. There may be performance issues with this card.

As you know, Minsk is a special city for Wargaming, because the company was founded here. On the map, we recreated the city center of the early 1970s, changing a few things for the convenience of the gameplay. If you have visited Minsk, you will recognize many places right away. If not, just admire the city skyline and immerse yourself in the past of the city!

Studzianki

This map is not based on any particular historical place. It was created based on the battle of Studzianki and combines open spaces and confrontation points. On the location you will find wide fields, a lot of vegetation, small village buildings centered around a tall church. The central point of the map is a small brick factory, which will become an important strategic point during the battle.

Changes on current maps

Calm

Many positions (including the aircraft carrier and serpentine road) have been reworked. The battles on this map will become more fair.

Siegfried line

The positions of the northern team are fortified on the map. Many points are reinforced with additional stones. The landscape has also changed.

mines

The map needed a rebalance as it gave the northern team a significant advantage: the left flank gave them better and faster access to the central island. Using heatmaps and statistics, we made this location more balanced and fair to the south team.

Provinces

Now only Tier IV-VII vehicles will be able to fight on this map. With minor modifications to help the southern team, the bulk of the changes should provide cover from fire in different positions.

industrial zone

The map has been redesigned in HD quality, and its size has increased from 800x800 to 1000x1000 m. Changes have also been made that will improve the gameplay for all types of vehicles. In addition, the eastern part of the map has been completely redesigned.

Before the release of Update 1.1, we will publish a separate article with detailed information about the changes on each map.

Polish branch of technology

With the Polish map, Polish tanks will also appear in the game. It's time to get acquainted with a new branch of technology: ten vehicles are ready to be tested in combat!

We decided to add this nation as a sign of respect for the dedication and courage of the Polish people during the two world wars, when the territory of Poland was at the very center of conflicts.

The branch will start with LT at low levels, continue with ST at medium levels, and end with heavy tanks at high levels. Come into the game and test Polish vehicles in battle!

List of Common Test Changes

New campaign of personal combat missions "Second Front"

  1. The new campaign consists of three operations:
    1. Excalibur (available immediately);
    2. Chimera (will become available after unlocking for order forms, which will be credited on the evening of August 3);
    3. "Object 279 (p)" (will not be available on the public test).
  2. Each operation includes four task branches. Each branch is executed on machines of a certain union of nations (without reference to the type of equipment):
    • Union: USSR, China.
    • Block: Germany, Japan.
    • Alliance: USA, UK, Poland.
    • Coalition: France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Italy.
  3. Access to the new campaign is open immediately and does not depend on the results achieved in the first campaign. Thus, the tasks of two campaigns can be completed simultaneously.
  4. There are 15 combat missions in each branch of the Second Front campaign: 14 can be completed in any order, and the 15th one is unlocked after completing all the previous ones (as in the first campaign).
  5. Each operation has its own characteristics of performing tasks:
    • Operation Excalibur: accumulative tasks. The condition is met in an unlimited number of battles (for example, inflict 10,000 damage over any number of battles).
    • Operation Chimera: the condition is met in one battle (as in the first campaign).
    • Operation "Object 279 (p)": the condition is fulfilled for a certain number of battles. If you fail, the progress is reset and the task must be restarted. This operation is not available on the public test.
  6. For the completion of each task, a reward is given in the form of credits, equipment, etc. For completing the entire operation, a unique vehicle is issued that cannot be obtained in any other way.
  7. Added progress for completing tasks in battle:
    • In version 1.1, progress will only work for the new campaign.
    • A detailed description of the accepted tasks will appear in battle when you press the Tab or N key.
  8. Now there are two indicators of personal combat missions in the Garage - a different one for each campaign.
  9. Operations of the "Second Front" campaign will open sequentially after a certain period of time. Those who complete the operation before the next one appears will receive a unique emblem.
  10. The interface of the first campaign has been improved:
    • The main screen has been completely redesigned so that both campaigns can be displayed on the same screen.
    • Improved task card.
    • All elements are brought to a single form, taking into account the features of both campaigns.
    • Added new reward screens for completing personal combat missions.
    • The display of tasks in battle by pressing the Tab key has been redesigned.

Graphic arts

  • Added the map "Studentianki" in the Polish setting.
  • Added map "Minsk".
  • Transferred to HD and added to the game map "Industrial Zone". Main changes:
    • Increased the size from 800x800 to 1000x1000 m.
    • The eastern part of the map has been completely redesigned.
    • Balance and gameplay changes have been made.

Balance changes have been made on the following maps:

  1. "Calm";
  2. "Siegfried Line";
  3. "Mines";
  4. "Province".

Only Tier IV-VII vehicles will now enter battles in the Provinces.

  • Now you can change the appearance of all Tier IX vehicles.
  • The Wwise sound engine has been updated: critical bugs in the sound system have been fixed, and new features have been added to improve the sound in the game.

Polish branch of technology

A full branch of Polish vehicles has been added, consisting of ten vehicles from Tier I to X:

Changes to Vehicle Parameters

  • Only those players who registered in World of Tanks before July 24, 23:59 (MSK) can take part in the test.
    • Due to the large number of tankers on the test server, there is a restriction on the entry of users. All new players who wish to take part in the testing of the update will be queued and will be able to join the server when it becomes free.
    • If the user changed the password after July 24 23:59 (UTC), authorization on the test server will be available only with the password that was used before the specified time.
    • Payments on the test server are not made.
    • This testing does not increase the earnings of experience and credits.
    • Achievements on the test server will not be transferred to the main server.
    • During testing 1.1, planned technical work is going on on the test servers (25 minutes on each server, starting at 07:00 (UTC)).
    • Please note: the test server is subject to the same rules as the main game server. Therefore, there are penalties for violating these rules in accordance with the License Agreement.
    • The User Support Center does not review applications related to the Common Test.
    • We remind you that the most reliable way to download the World of Tanks client, as well as its test versions and updates, is on the official game portal.     General test

    On December 3, the general test of update 1.9.2 began. With its release, a new branch of US multirole fighters will appear in the game. These vehicles differ from similar models of other nations in their excellent speed characteristics, high survivability and powerful strike weapons. The branch included aircraft reflecting the development of US front-line aviation from the beginning of World War II to the 1950s and the Korean War.

    Also in the update, a lot of work has been done on the balance of aircraft and weapons, the behavior of bots has been improved, the interface of the Hangar and the training room has been modified.

    As usual, the test server has special rules for accruing experience, gold and credits, which will allow all participants in the public test to fill their hangars with fully researched aircraft and fly them to the fullest.

    Achievements on the test server will not be transferred to the main server. Payments to the test server are not made.
    For the duration of the public test, the limit on the number of aircraft sold per day was disabled and a limit was introduced on the maximum number of bots in training rooms.

    General test rules:
    • All players who registered in World of Warplanes or World of Tanks before November 13, 2015 and logged into any of these games at least once prior to that date.
    • If you had a premium account active on November 13th, it will not be transferred to the Public Test server and you will need to purchase a separate premium using in-game gold earned during the Public Test.
    • The same amount of gold that was on the main game account on November 13 will be credited to the account in the public test.
    • If the user changed their password after November 13, 2015, authorization on the test server will only be available with the password that was used before November 13.
    To become a test participant, you must:
    • Download a special installer.
    • Run this installer, which will download and install a test version of the client (SD version - 4.95 GB; HD version - 6.95 GB). When you run the installer, it will automatically offer to install the test client in a separate folder on your computer, or you can specify the installation folder yourself.
    • Run the installed test version.

    You cannot install the Common Test client on Common Test version 1.9.0. The public test client 1.9.0 must be uninstalled, after which you need to download and install a special installer that will download the public test client to a separate folder.
