The department changed its name several times: the department of social sciences, the department of humanities, the department of philosophy and social and humanitarian disciplines, and, finally, the department of social, humanitarian and economic disciplines.

The activities of the department are determined by the current legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of education, the Charter of the Academy and local regulations.

Education is conducted on a full-time and part-time basis in 53 academic disciplines, and also includes the training of masters and graduate students.

In its activities, the Department is guided by the principle of implementing the correspondence of the level and content of social, humanitarian and economic education of students to the goals and objectives of their professional education at each level of education; continuity and succession of humanitarian and social training; the integrity of socio-humanitarian and economic education in the unity of its historical, philosophical, cultural, political science, sociological and economic aspects; systematic updating of the content of training courses in accordance with the achieved level of domestic and world science, culture and social practice; humanization of education; creating conditions for the successful acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities by students at the level of the requirements of specialties corresponding to state educational standards.

The Department of Social-Humanitarian and Economic Disciplines includes an office equipped with modern audio-visual means, the Department has a library on philosophical and social-humanitarian problems.

The scientific activity of the staff of the Department is reflected in the collections "Social and humanitarian problems of modern social development." The tasks of improving the methodology of teaching social, humanitarian and economic disciplines and educational work are also reflected in the periodicals of the Department.

Department history

Amur State University was one of the first universities in Russia to train specialists in social work. The specialty “Social work” was approved by order No. 180 of the Committee for Higher Education of the Ministry of Science of Russia dated 03/05/1994, in the same year the first enrollment of students for this specialty was made at the Blagoveshchensk Polytechnic University (now Amur State University).

Based on the decision of the Academic Council of the Amur State University dated 05.03.98 and with the assistance of the first rector of the university Boris Alekseevich Vinogradov, a new department was created at the Faculty of Social Sciences - "Social Medicine", which was renamed by order of 10.04.1998 No. 128-OD Department of Medical and Social Work.

By order of May 15, 1998 No. 265-K, the Department of Medical and Social Work was entrusted with the responsibility for preparing students in the specialty "Social Work". From the moment the department was formed, the duties of the head of the department were performed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Mikhail Timofeevich Lutsenko.

In 2014, the Department of Medical and Social Work was renamed into the Department of Social Work. Since November 16, 2017, Polevaya Natalia Mikhailovna has become the head of the department.

To teach part of the main disciplines assigned to the department, teachers with basic medical, pedagogical and technical education are involved, which is due to the interdisciplinary nature of social work as a field of scientific knowledge and professional activity, as well as practical social workers working in social institutions and services.

The Department of Social Technologies was established in 1998 and is one of the leading departments of the Belgorod State National Research University. Educational process

Since 2011, the preparation of bachelors in the direction of 38.03.04 has been underway. State and municipal administration is a launching pad for those who want to become a professional official. The universality of the direction dictates special requirements for the content of the curriculum. Compulsory subjects include the basics of state and municipal government, management theory, theories and mechanisms of modern state and municipal government, municipal economy, project management. The practice takes place in state and municipal authorities corresponding to the profile of training. A specialist in state and municipal administration works in various departments and services, including specialized ones.

Since 2011, the specialty has been licensed and opened 05/38/02 "Customs". Graduates of the specialty can hold various positions, working both directly in the customs authorities of the Russian Federation, and being engaged in advising entrepreneurs on the issues of transporting goods and goods across the border. The most popular professions in this area are the declarant, customs inspector, customs manager, foreign economic activity specialist, customs clearance specialist, customs broker, customs carrier.

Master's degree 38.04.04 "State and municipal administration". The educational process for the master's program in all disciplines of the curriculum is provided by highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, known for their scientific work, as well as current employees of state and municipal authorities. 38.04.09 "State Audit". State audit is one of the key institutions of civil society, an integral part of the system of socio-economic regulation. Training involves a professional level of training in the field of state control in order to increase the efficiency of organizations of various forms of ownership, stimulate the quality of public and financial management, and promote socio-economic development. Master's program "State Audit" trains specialists with the competencies to effectively solve expert-analytical and control-auditing tasks in modern conditions.
