You don't need a great mind or talent to learn a language. You just need to practice regularly - that's all. Pay attention to all aspects of the language: vocabulary, grammar, practice in reading, listening, speaking and writing - and everything will be ok. Don't get hung up on theory and try to practice more.

Advantages. The material is presented with humor - some of the stories are actually very funny. Lots of examples. Enough exercise. Interesting factual material. Detailed explanations. The presence of sound accompaniment.

Flaws. The manual is black and white, the illustrations are not interesting - so if you are used to good colorful textbooks, this tutorial will make you bored. There is not enough grammar material, although it will be just right for those who study English solely for communication.

Self-instruction manual of the English language: modern methods of intensive learning.

This manual is intended for those who want to quickly master the most popular of foreign languages ​​- English. The tutorial is built on the ESHKO methodology, which means that the transcription of all words is transmitted in Russian letters, which will allow even those who are absolute beginners in learning languages ​​to use the tutorial.

The manual consists of three parts. In the first you will learn how to read English words, in the second you will get acquainted with grammar, and in the third - with situations of communication on certain topics.

Advantages. All exercises in the tutorial are answered, that is, you can independently control your progress. Words that you need to remember in order to successfully progress in the study are marked with a special icon - so you don't miss anything important!

Flaws. I would attribute the very construction of the textbook to possible shortcomings, where at first you are engaged exclusively in phonetics, then grammar, and only at the last stage you use both in order to learn how to speak and write. There is no sound accompaniment.

This tutorial is not a tutorial at all in the usual sense. It's more of a grammar book for those who want to figure it out on their own. And not even in grammar in general, but in the use of English tenses. I would advise you to use this manual as a supplement to any other tutorial. Why am I writing about this benefit in this article? Just because Chernenko's book can be an excellent guide to the tenses of the English language for those who want to understand them without outside help.

Advantages. But the use of time is considered perfectly. Everything is clear, accessible, with examples and exercises for practicing. All exercises are given with answers, so you can check your progress.

Flaws. It is unlikely that an intensive course of study should be reduced only to a detailed examination of the tenses of the English language. With the title of the manual, the author clearly overdid it.

English self-instruction manual.

A. Petrova's self-instruction manual differs from the above in that the author does not set himself the task of teaching you to speak English. The purpose of this book is to teach reading and comprehension. However, it is worth noting that the material is perfectly selected and structured, so those who conscientiously master this tutorial will be able to explain themselves normally in standard situations. After studying this manual, you will master more than 2000 words and understand the most necessary grammatical structures. The tutorial includes 26 large lessons that cover various topics.

Advantages. Many lessons have optional sections aimed at teaching speaking. All controls have keys. The structure of the lessons allows you to get good systematized knowledge.

Flaws . There are no answers to the test exercises after each new topic.

Sound tutorial for English conversation.

Shubin's sound tutorial consists of several books - an initial and a basic course. The allowance is designed for an adult and will be extremely useful to those who are going to live or travel to English-speaking countries. The difference of this manual is that it is a system of sound exercises with sound keys. By studying English in this tutorial, you will learn to perceive live conversational speech, which is very useful when traveling.

Advantages. A good guide for those who like to listen a lot and catch oral speech well. An excellent guide for those who want to learn to understand spoken English.

Flaws. Shubin's self-instruction manual was released in shaggy 1976, so a lot of things will seem primitive to you. Some information is already hopelessly outdated.

New cool English tutorial.

Already not so new - 2005, and not as cool as the author would like, but still worth mentioning Dragunkin's self-instruction manual - an example of the author's statement about English grammar. The manual can be used as an addition to any classic tutorial with texts, situations, dialogues and exercises, because Dragunkin has only rules.

Advantages. The textbook is different from other reference books on the grammar of the language. The presence of the author is very clearly felt here. Lots of motivating moments. A lot of informative not only in terms of learning the language of information.

Flaws. All material is replete with underlining, bolding, numerous exclamation marks. It feels like Dragunkin himself is yelling in your ear: TEACH! LET'S! YOU CAN! GIRL! I WILL SHOW YOU WHERE THE CRABI Hibernate! - very amateurish. Lots of PR for the author.

Quick English for energetic lazy people.

Of course, I doubt that everything will be so rosy, but the textbook is not bad. As the only way to study, I would not recommend it, but reading in addition to the same Petrova will be very useful.

Advantages. Easy to read. At times interesting, at times even with humor, at times even with good humor.

Flaws. I already wrote about them in the analysis of the previous tutorial. But such is the author's style, perhaps someone will like it.
