The Institute is a continuation of Guerrier's famous higher courses for women, which for the first time opened up the opportunity for the fair sex to receive an education and became a kind of beginning of the feminist movement in Russia.

Opening of MVZhK

The initiator of the creation of private women's courses was the historian and prominent public figure Vladimir Guerrier. The idea was supported by the Minister of Education Count Tolstoy. The opening of the institution took place in the building of the First Men's Gymnasium on Volkhonka in November 1872. The Moscow Higher Women's Courses became the first educational institution open to women from any class. Until that time, ladies had to apply to foreign institutes and universities, where such an opportunity had been available for a long time.

In the 19th century and earlier, it was believed that education harmed women, as a result, ladies could not take part in many areas of life. There were a lot of opponents of changing the situation in favor of education, which did not prevent Guernier's courses from existing for sixteen years in the initial period. It was originally planned that the training would last 2 years, later the period increased to 3 years.

First period

The chosen direction of education was the humanities. The main subjects taught in the courses were world and Russian history, literature, art history. Since 1879, the number of subjects has increased, reduced courses in mathematics, physics, astronomy and hygiene were introduced into the program.

Education was carried out on a commercial basis, the cost of one year of study was estimated at 30 rubles for the entire course of subjects. Those who wanted more paid 10 rubles a year for each individual item. The same amount was paid by volunteer women who wanted to independently build the educational process.

The demand in society for the creation of such courses was great - already in the first year after the opening, the number of students was 70, and by 1885 it had grown to 256 people, which was almost a record for that time. Despite the huge demand, admission to the MVZhK was discontinued in 1886, and two years later the courses were completely closed.

Second discovery

The second time MVZhK, the future pedagogical institute, was opened ten years later, but already at the initiative of the state. The Ministry of Education partially financed the creation and operation of the educational institution. With the duration of the educational process was increased to 4 years. Two departments were available for training - physical and mathematical and historical and philological. In 1906, medical education became available to women, for which the Faculty of Medicine was opened.

V. Guernier was appointed director of the new courses in 1905, after his departure abroad, Professor V. I. Vernadsky was chosen as director, but at the same time he received the post of director of Moscow University, and therefore could not pay attention to MZhVK. New elections followed, and as a result, S. A. Chaplygin became the head of women's courses.

Your home for courses

In 1905, the Moscow city government took care of the construction of a separate building for the educational building for women's courses. For good purposes, a plot was allocated for the summer of 1907, construction began. The author of the project was S. U. Solovyov. A year later, the buildings of the first departments were opened - the anatomical theater and the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry. In 1913, an auditorium building was opened, now the main building of the Moscow State Pedagogical University (former Lenin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute).

The educational institution was constantly developing, the funds were replenished with grants, so in 1913 the zoological collection of A.F. Kots was acquired for the MZhVK, which later grew to the Darwin Museum (Vavilov St.). Since 1915, the Moscow Higher Women's Courses began to issue diplomas based on the results of final exams. The number of students in 1916 reached 8300 people, more students studied only at Moscow State University. Thus, in the post-revolutionary year of 1918, the Higher Women's Courses in Moscow became the largest educational institution of higher education in the Russian Empire.

After the revolution

In September 1918, MZHVK received a new status and name, becoming the Second. In 1921, the Pedagogical Faculty was opened at the Second Moscow State University, which became decisive in the further development of the university. In 1930, education received a modern direction and the corresponding name - the Pedagogical Institute.

At the dawn of activity in the training of teaching staff, the institute bore the name of the People's Commissar of Education. It was called MGPI them. Bubnov, and later the university was named after Lenin (until 1997). The name “Lenin Pedagogical Institute” is still alive in the memory of many generations.

Education at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. Lenin at all times was not only prestigious, but also of high quality. The luminaries of science Otto Schmidt (mathematician, astronomer, geographer), N. Baransky (founder of economic geography in the Soviet Union), Lev Vygodsky (outstanding psychologist), Igor Tamm (physicist, Nobel Prize winner) and many others taught here.

War time

During the war, MGPI them. Lenin practically did not stop the educational process. The stop occurred in the autumn of 1941, when a state of siege was declared in Moscow. The term of study was reduced, everyone tried to fit in three years. Many graduates immediately went to the front, and teachers, graduate students and researchers also took part in the hostilities. Four teachers received the title of Heroes of the Soviet Union.

In the last year of the Great Patriotic War, the Pedagogical Institute received the right to scientific activities and the defense of dissertations, and Higher Pedagogical Courses were also opened. During the war years, two Moscow universities were attached to the Moscow State Pedagogical University - the Defectological Institute and the Industrial and Pedagogical Institute named after K. Liebknecht, and much later, in 1960, there was a merger with the Moscow City Pedagogical Institute. V. P. Potemkin.

Modernity

Moscow State Pedagogical University (former Lenin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute) trained a galaxy of outstanding specialists. The teachers of the university wrote textbooks for secondary and higher schools, according to which several generations of schoolchildren and students mastered the knowledge. For outstanding achievements in the training of teaching staff and in connection with the 100th anniversary in 1972, the university was awarded the Order of Lenin.

The main task of the university is to train teachers for secondary schools, but the staff of many departments conduct research work that has practical application in the real sector of industry. So found the implementation of the study of the Department of Geology in the exploration of minerals, the Department of Chemistry contributed to the production of dyes and many other works.

Many graduates work in the profession in key positions in schools, universities, and institutes. Achievements of former students of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. Lenin are varied. Teaching is an art, a work no less titanic than that of a writer or composer, but more difficult and responsible.

The teacher addresses the human soul not through music, like a composer, not with the help of colors, like an artist, but directly.

He educates with his knowledge and love, his attitude to the world.

D. Likhachev

Pedagogical universities are the first in the list, as they are the BASIS of any education. They train teachers and teachers for all levels of the educational system - kindergartens, schools, colleges, universities. Teachers do not just teach children the sciences, but also form a worldview, "sow the reasonable, good, eternal." Pupils and students spend most of the study period next to teachers. Therefore, it is so important that graduates of pedagogical universities be highly educated, intelligent, and worthy. The future fate of the younger generation depends on the quality of teaching. As T. Shash said: “A teacher should have maximum authority and minimum power.” Only those who have authority among students can instill a love of knowledge, teach a lot.

Future teachers can receive fundamental and high-quality education in state pedagogical universities. On the page of each university, its description, addresses and details, open days, forms of education, information on the availability of budget places, hostels, and military departments are presented.

To be a good teacher, you need to love what you teach and love those you teach.

V. Klyuchevsky

In recent years, the popularity of the teaching profession has increased significantly. The flow of applicants to Moscow State Pedagogical University last year amounted to 25 thousand people - 17 people for 1st place! The number of budget places has been increased to 1290. A similar situation is observed in other pedagogical universities. The reason for the increase in the demand for teacher education is the state program for the modernization of the personnel training system, which has led, among other things, to an increase in the salaries of teachers. The world has changed, and there must be other teachers who keep up with the times. Modern teachers are called upon not only to strengthen the shattered authority of the teaching profession, but also to raise it to new heights. So that in the future it will be considered an honorable privilege to receive a pedagogical education.

The government is preparing an additional series of measures to improve the quality of life of teachers.

People enter pedagogical universities not only to become a teacher, but also to get the profession of a competent municipal manager who applies modern methods of management and business informatics.

Pedagogical universities are the basis of any educational system. They train teachers for various levels of education. From birth, a child spends a lot of time communicating with various teachers, whether they are kindergarten teachers or professors at institutes. Teachers shape the character of a young person and his attitude to knowledge. A good teacher can instill a love of learning, which will help in the future to learn new information and new skills that in real life you constantly have to learn.

Specialized educational institutions train teachers for various levels of the educational system. There is a huge difference in the method of teaching information in kindergarten and university. Specialists have to take into account not only the specifics of the age of their ward, but also his individual personality traits. Therefore, pedagogical institutes are doing a great job.

Education in pedagogical institutes.

Kindergarten teachers present information in a playful way, which instills in children a love of knowledge, linking learning with fun. This will allow children, painlessly for the psyche, to devote part of their playing time to studying, which is not familiar to them.

At school, the teacher needs to cope with the subconscious rebellion of children against the school, as children have to be in an unusual environment and do things that they did not plan. But if teachers in kindergarten instilled a love of knowledge, then children will be happy to study at school. But a large amount of information will still cause discomfort. The primary school teacher should be able to present this information in the most gentle and entertaining way.

The high school teacher gets students accustomed to learning, but confronts her students with recurring problems. Although children are ready to devote time to learning, and even understand the need to learn new knowledge, but to a greater extent they feel the need to communicate with each other and study themselves. The teacher needs to control the behavior of students, but without causing them hostility and nonconformity.

A professor at a university needs to be able to transfer his deep knowledge of the subject in stages, allowing the student to go all the long way that the teacher himself went through. Students are at a lower level in terms of knowledge, and the professor needs to take this into account when conducting classes.

Pedagogical institutes, universities, academies, in particular, teach just all the subtleties of teaching. Indeed, in addition to the age and personality characteristics of students, there are specifics of teaching various subjects. It is impossible to teach physics, history and a foreign language alone. Therefore, the luminaries of the pedagogical profile have developed special programs for teaching various subjects in various age ranges. Pedagogical institutes were created to ensure the continuity of the transfer of knowledge from the older generation to the younger. If this connection is broken, then the entire education system will collapse. Therefore, if you decide to connect your life with pedagogy, be more careful about choosing a specialty and teaching this difficult and very responsible profession. After all, the whole future fate of the younger generation will depend on the quality of your teaching.
