If you want to become a master, watch carefully. Choosing between a tattoo parlor and work from home

The world of tattoo artists is a closed community that lives by its own unwritten laws. It is extremely difficult to break through there, especially if you have never encountered real specialists in the past. So let's talk about how to become a tattoo artist? Where to start your career? What documents are needed for work? And how to reach the pinnacle of mastery?

A sober look at your capabilities

Today, many artists are thinking about how to become a tattoo artist. On the one hand, this allows you to engage in art, and on the other hand, it brings a good income. What is true, the vast majority of dreamers do not dare to take this path, because, unlike drawing on paper, tattooing on the skin is fraught with many dangerous moments.

Therefore, all professional tattoo artists first of all advise beginners to think carefully about their choice. Will they really be able to fill a pattern on a human body, or is it just another illusion? In addition, you need to take into account your creative abilities, so that in the future you do not have to blush in front of customers.

What does it take to become a tattoo artist?

To begin with, let's take a look at the stages of the entire path of becoming a tattoo artist. This will help you not only plan your actions correctly, but also speed up the whole process. So, here is how to become a tattoo artist from scratch:

  1. Get a quality education. Alas, many believe that you can become a tattoo artist with only innate talent. But it's not! In fact, you need to graduate from a tattoo school in order to get a master's certificate.
  2. You should gain experience. After all, the fact that a person draws well on paper does not mean that he can do the same on the body. Therefore, upon completion of studies, you will have to fill your hand for several more months in order to achieve perfect ownership of the typewriter.
  3. You need to find a suitable job. In this case, the choice comes down to only two main areas: a tattoo parlor or work at home.
  4. And finally, you will need to create your own unique style. Indeed, in fact, there are many good masters, but only a few are considered unsurpassed. And it is to them that visitors line up in kilometer-long queues.

Tattoo artist education

Today, there are many schools that can clearly explain how to become a tattoo artist. In general, during the training, a person needs to master the following points:

  1. Classification and structure of tattoo equipment.
  2. Features of the selection of colors and their colors.
  3. Rules for the arrangement of the workplace.
  4. Equipment sterilization methods, as well as sanitary control standards.
  5. The most effective ways to anesthetize the skin.
  6. Tattoo care tips.

In addition, the school will give the opportunity to try to get a tattoo on a leather substitute, and later on a living person. But, most importantly, upon graduation, the specialist will be given a certificate or diploma that allows him to work as a tattoo artist.

First steps in a new business

The main problem is not how to become a tattoo artist, but how to become a real professional. After all, it is one thing when you practice under the supervision of an experienced teacher, and quite another when you have to work on your own.

Therefore, for a beginner, it is better to work a little under the auspices of an experienced mentor. For example, when you get an internship at a tattoo parlor, you can come to an agreement that initially you will be entrusted with only simple work: inscriptions, abstractions, and black and white images. This approach will help you get used to the machine and how it behaves on human skin.

Choosing between a tattoo parlor and work from home

First, let's talk about how to become a tattoo artist in a salon. In general, this is not difficult, unless, of course, you have a certificate. You just need to go around the local workshops and ask around if they have vacancies. As for the benefits, working in the salon will allow you to start “beating” the tattoo without investing your own funds. Among the minuses, the main one is the interest rate that management will have to pay for the use of their equipment.

Working from home has more prospects, especially if you equip one of the rooms with a professional workshop. That's just for such a pleasure you have to pay out of your own pocket, which is not available to everyone. It is also necessary to look for clients on your own, who at first will not particularly trust the “basement” tattoo artist.

Creating your own style

A true professional never stops at the achieved level of skill. He constantly improves his style, making it unique and inimitable. Such tattoo artists are highly respected among their colleagues, there is always a queue of clients for them.

Therefore, no matter how good an artist is, he must always continue to improve himself. Thanks to this, in the future he will be able to demonstrate his talent to a wide audience, for example, at the All-Russian tattoo competition. And this, in turn, will allow him not only to earn good money, but also to enter the legends of the world of tattoo artists.

The artist wakes up with a wild hangover and says:
- Eh, you can’t drink away skill ... It’s a pity ...

"You can't drink skill." This is true, by and large - so, because the skills honed to a real mastery will serve you faithfully, regardless of your consciousness and condition.

Although, of course, no one has canceled the degrading effect of alcohol on any human activity. You can drink, alas, anything, it's only a matter of time and quantity consumed. But today is not about that. Today we will talk about the secrets of gaining True Mastery.

To become a real master of any business or art is a worthy goal in life. And if this business is of direct benefit to you and others, it is doubly worthy.

In order to continue, I want to give my interpretation of the definition of Master and True Mastery. It is in this vision and in this context that we will speak further.

True craftsmanship
is the perfect mastery of certain skills. The ability to do something without thinking, at the level of reflexes, at top speed, but variably and adjusting to external factors.

Master- a carrier of real skill in certain areas. Wherein True Master what distinguishes it is that it is not only a practitioner, but also a creator. A real master will summarize the acquired skills, abilities, knowledge, and then supplement them with new ones - “of his own composition”.

A master who consciously (or not quite :)) transfers his knowledge, - Teacher.

I must say right away that I do not yet consider myself an accomplished Master in any type of activity or art that I am engaged in (despite the fact that I myself have been teaching people for many years different things). But I was lucky to learn from such people from different fields of knowledge and skills, and in general, I think that I took the methodology correctly (it is really universal).

How to acquire true mastery in any business?

This path is long and thorny… :). And not everyone, generally speaking, is necessary in life. But for those who are interested and need it, who is what is called "ripe" - be patient, everything is possible.

Of course, the first and main recommendation is to find a Teacher, a real Master, and become his disciple. This is the most correct and safe way. If there is a Teacher, there is no need to read further recommendations in this article, you will learn everything directly "firsthand".

But, alas, not everything is always so rosy. Most often, the student cannot find a teacher in the initial period. Or the noted Teacher is in no hurry to take him as a student ...

The teacher (or teachers) is known to appear when the student is ready. This will definitely happen - everything is in your hands. In the meantime, in order to gain "readiness" and speed up his appearance in your life, try to use the following recommendations.

The matter for comprehending mastery should be interesting to you

Probably the most important point. You can become a master in anything. But the Real Master, perhaps, only in the one that you like and the occupation of which gives real pleasure.

It is very easy to check this. If you feel an extraordinary spiritual and creative upsurge when doing this business, or think about it, and even for a long period of time - this is Your Business, you can start;)

Find role models

Find real people who, in your opinion, and according to experts in the field, have mastery in this matter. Read their biographies, if there are books.

If these are your contemporaries, be sure to try to find videos with them and with a real demonstration of skills. Now in times of universal distribution of video content - this is not a problem for almost any field of knowledge and skills.

Additionally, this will help to overcome the difficult stages of the formation of mastery, moments of despair, traps, etc.

Set goals

Any business is better to start with goals. This disciplines, focuses and clearly outlines the vector of your future activities.

Start with a description of the global goal. The global goal should be divided into sub-goals. Sub-goals should also be written down, achievable, and time-bound.

For self-motivation and final self-determination, also write down the opportunities that this skill will give you. Or maybe it is not necessary? :)

For example, you set a global goal to become a Master of Portrait Photography by a certain year. To do this, you need to start at least approximately and at least for a year to describe what subgoals and by what time you must complete: study the “materiel”, read certain books, purchase certain equipment, undergo certain training or master classes, find certain communities and role models, exhibit at certain exhibitions and competitions, etc.

Subgoals will be expanded over time, supplemented, specified, and, finally, fulfilled. It is important that the process of checking and setting new goals is continuous. Your path to mastery will be more streamlined and faster.

There are people (especially creative ones) who find such planning very difficult. I myself am one of them. Here you can either “spit” and completely rely on “innate talent and intuition”, or try to overcome yourself and at least once make such a plan. I tried going both ways. The second way is noticeably faster and more productive. Despite the fact that I still don’t like to “plan” and paint goals, but I endure and do it :)

Learn Theory

Study the theory at least from available sources (“inaccessible” will be revealed to you later). I recommend to cover first, albeit superficially, but the whole theory as a whole.

There is a good phrase:

“Practice without theory is dangerous, theory without practice is useless!”

This means that knowledge of the theoretical foundations will allow you to avoid many problems when you begin to constantly translate knowledge into motor skills and polish them. You will imagine the system as a whole, know the main "pitfalls", understand and see in the future the degree of your progress.

Another conclusion follows from the same phrase: one cannot become a Master with one bare theory. So let's move on to the next steps.

Master the base

The most boring activity at the initial stage, but the most important for further progress. The base usually includes: the correct position of the body, the setting of breathing, preparatory exercises, the study of "materiel", etc.

For example:

  • The correct position of the body and hands, as well as various scales and other basic exercises when practicing music.
  • The correct position of the body, limbs, steps and movements in martial arts, dances and other kinds of "motor activities".
  • The study of photographic equipment, shooting techniques in the main genres, the basics of composition, for photography.

Incorrectly laid down and insufficiently developed basic skills will greatly slow down or completely limit the growth of skill at a certain point in time. Then, sometimes, you will have to spend even more time on retraining than you did before.

Therefore, the more time you spend on understanding the basics, the faster and more reliable mastery growth awaits you in the future. Do not hurry…

From simple to complex

Another fundamental and seemingly well-known law. But all too often they are neglected. Of course, you want everything at once and quickly - this is part of human nature. I would like to pierce an iron barrel with my finger in a month, shoot bundles of photo masterpieces or “play” the “Legend” of Albeniz on the guitar ...

But, as you know, you should not pull the sprouts of plants, because of this they will not grow faster, and ruining them is nowhere easier.

The comprehension of any mastery (as a system) is always divided into stages. The complexity of each new stage increases gradually. Each next stage builds on the skills gained in the previous one.

Even to draw a simple student still life, the student must go through many stages and master many knowledge and skills: transferring volume and perspective, chiaroscuro, drawing technique, composition basics, etc. And all this in a certain order “from simple to complex”.

There are, of course, geniuses and talents who do not need all this, everything is already inside them. But these are the exceptions that prove the rule.

Once again, - take your time ... Here, for sure, - you will go more quietly.

Focus

"Skill grows in depth, not in breadth ...".

This is a very important point to understand. It can be said to be fundamentally important.

In each area, at a certain point in time, you should try to focus on practicing only a few skills. New elements and complications are added only when the previous ones are well worked out.

You cannot practice more than three skills at the same time in one lesson!

Fifteen years ago, when I came from martial arts to traditional family martial arts, I was very puzzled and even initially disappointed with the training method.

Almost the entire lesson, for two hours, one, two, maximum three exercises were hard worked out. Before that, only a small articular gymnastics. At the next lesson, the same thing and, which seemed terrible, almost the same exercises. Then again and again. And so time after time, many movements and exercises were practiced - for weeks and months. No variety - solid "monotony and boredom."

And how cool and interesting it was to do before! Each workout is just a firework of actions and opportunities: here you have a “ball game”, and all sorts of tricky exercises, and working out five to eight tricks, and “strength”, and sparring and simulators, and a lot of all sorts of different things. Everything is fun, driving, exhausting and ... practically useless for the development of real combat skills. A sort of fitness with elements of martial arts turns out ...

Studying in a “boring” traditional school, I achieved greater success in a year than in five years of previous classes ... And all because “Skill grows in depth, not in breadth ...”;) And not only in martial arts, but, perhaps, in all deeds and arts.

The Law of Constancy of Effort

To develop any skill, you need to practice regularly. I translate for those who do not quite understand: “You need to study every day!”.

Efforts should be constant, but not excessive. It is better to practice for an hour, but every day, than at least 10 hours in a row, but once, or three hours three times a week.

There is also the concept of the principle of comfort. You should feel comfortable while exercising. As soon as discomfort begins, it is better to change the exercise or end the session altogether.

It is highly desirable to have a lesson plan and vary the various exercises by day in order to avoid a very painful monotony.

The first basic secret of skill development is the correctness of the general technique and the technique of a particular exercise. But the second - a large number of repetitions.

“Repeat the movement tens of thousands of times and mastery will come,” they said in the east. I subscribe to these words: not only will it come, but directly “it will suddenly come…”. And will be fixed in the subcortex. And to speed up the process - try to be aware of what you are doing. Do not translate everything into "mechanism". It's difficult, but it's possible. This will make progress much faster.

start learning

From a certain point, for further progress, you need to start transferring your knowledge and skills to other people. This will give you the opportunity to rethink, think and understand a lot, get feedback and reach a new level.

Transfer only those knowledge and skills that you really understand, in which you have really made progress, and in which you know the next step / stage. Those. you must always be one step or better two ahead of the trainees.

Don't try to make money by teaching others. Your main income is polishing your own knowledge, skills and feedback. The more you give, the more you receive.

By the way, in traditional schools, real knowledge is still transferred to the student for free: "from heart to heart."

Pitfalls of mastery

It often happens that you seem to follow all the tips listed, but do not see any tangible results. There is one old observation that has been universal and proven by generations: “With regular practice, small achievements come after three months, and large ones after three years ...”

What does this mean for you? This means that if after three months of regular classes you have not noticed significant progress and useful changes, this is a bad sign. Either the technique is not correct, or you are working out the base poorly, or it’s just “not for you”.

The results should be visible and tangible after 90 days from the start of the practice. Use this rule to check.

Another moment. The first three years until the first "big results" are obtained, subject to constant and correct practice, you will constantly and clearly make progress. You will really feel how you go over and over again to a new and new level.

But after three years, progress, as a rule, slows down, and more and more time and effort are needed for each new qualitative transition. True, the transitions themselves are becoming more and more significant ...

This is where the main trap lies. It happens that you have been practicing for several years, but you do not feel a significant jump, it seems that you are marking time, or there is generally a regression. And many drop out of classes, although the new level was just “two steps away”.

Believe in yourself, believe in your development, be patient. There will definitely be a transition to a qualitatively new level. You have to work no matter what. And the effort will be rewarded.

Another common trap at high levels is the ambition trap. A person believes that he has already achieved everything, that he is the best of the best and there is no need for further movement. At the same time, classes are either completely stopped or very significantly reduced.

But, as you know: "A sword that is not polished - rusts." Doing something is like swimming against the current, as soon as you stop, you will begin to be carried back.

There is no limit to perfection and there is no limit to mastery - this must always be remembered.

This and other topics are covered in more detail in my books in the Phoenix Code. Life-Changing Technologies series.

The profession of a nail service master today is a rather capacious concept. A master can have one narrow focus, or maybe a generalist, performing, in addition to nail services, also eyelash extensions, depilation and much more. The master can combine other areas of this industry - a leader, teacher, organizer, entrepreneur. It is about such masters that will be discussed in this article.

Let's define the terminology.
Under the masters who have achieved success, I mean those who have achieved significant results in any direction of the nail industry - for example, the number of awards in the competitions of the master himself and his students, the presence of a well-known name / brand / salon / school. By "famous", I mean the recognition of the name among the masters of different levels in different regions and countries.

What distinguishes successful masters from all the rest?
Why are some names known to the whole world, while others are known only to a narrow group of people?

  • Having a goal.
  • Clear plan.
  • commitment.
  • Obsession.
  • Facts, not dreams.
  • Following your principles.

1. Having a goal.
The principle is extremely simple, but not everyone follows it.
To achieve a goal, you need to define it in order to know which way to go.
All successful people, not just in the beauty industry, have a well-defined goal.

Remember Alice in Wonderland:
- Tell me, please, where should I go from here?
"It depends a lot on where you want to go," replied the Cat.
- Yes, I almost do not care - began Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter where you go,” said the Cat.

This quote by Lewis Carroll is the best way to describe the importance of having a clearly defined goal.
Where would you like to come? What goal to achieve?
Maybe you dream of becoming a stellar master - inventing nail designs for Lady Gaga and Madonna's music videos? Or our stars, for starters.
Become famous teachers? Win the world championship? Open a network of salons?
Surely you have some ideas in your head, but so far they are only at the stage of thoughts, they are ephemeral. Right now, clearly state the goal you want to achieve and write it down. Trust me it works.
Five minutes of wasted time is worth trying.

5. Facts, not dreams.
Bold dreams, ambitious goals, grandiose plans - there is nothing wrong with that. On the contrary, to have the courage to dream, to set goals - these are the necessary qualities to achieve success. At the same time, one must be able to face harsh facts.
What do you do better than others?
What type of work do you have an inclination towards?
Are you good at expressing your thoughts and explaining to other people what you are good at? Most likely, you can become a good teacher.
Do you prefer to do everything yourself, scrupulously bringing every detail to perfection? You have every chance to become an international level master, to reach the top in competitions.

Think about what kind of work you do the easiest, what abilities you have from childhood, and direct your maximum efforts to this area.

6. Following your principles.
Goals and principles are very important. However, their presence and complete inaction in relation to their implementation is of no importance in itself.
If you know but don't do it, it's tantamount to not knowing.
Successful masters followed their principles and dreams to the end. Nobody likes to talk about failures and defeats, so you will hardly hear in an interview with famous masters of history about how many times they lost in competitions, lost clients, experienced difficulties in various areas of life. However, this did not affect their unwavering drive and led to victory.

If you want to succeed, you need to double the number of failures. Thomas John Watson

Use these principles and success is guaranteed. If you apply only a few of them in your life, then the result will most likely be the same - partial, half. Write a plan and follow it. Cross out completed tasks not for the sake of a “tick”, but when you are really convinced that you have fully completed what you planned. After all, this is not an exam, but your life, and only you can decide how to live it.

The last, main principle that will help you succeed is to act. Right now.

Note. For this study, the experience of Western stars of the nail industry, recognizable around the world, was used.

Expert, master of his craft, professional - call it what you want. The main thing is a person who knows what he does better than many others. You can become a professional in any field - in cooking, sports, law, playing the guitar, photography. Everything that you have a soul for and everything that you are capable of.
But why are professionals so valued? Most likely, because it is quite difficult to become them, this requires a lot of work and willpower. But the path of becoming has long been known. Do you have enough desire to pass it and become a real master of your craft, and therefore a successful person? You decide, and you can read the action plan below.
Stage 1: Are you interested? Explore!
Nothing is taken from the air, but everything begins with our desire and interest. You don’t understand anything about photography, have you ever held a “SLR” in your hands? Believe me, this should not stop you. After all, all great people started from scratch, by trial and error, research and the desire to know. If this is what you really want to do, then go to Google, find knowledgeable people, look for teachers.
Stage 2: Self-taught.
At the beginning of the journey, we practically do not need help in motivation, because a new business captures the mind so that a person studies the chosen area with pleasure. Use this time to expand and improve your knowledge. Then, having got used to it, already knowing something, understanding something, it will be easier for you not to go the distance, not to abandon the matter halfway.
It is also necessary to understand that if we ourselves do not want something, not a single mentor will organize and control us. Be strict teachers for yourself, then the result will not keep you waiting.
Stage 3: Still, education is necessary.
No matter how much you wish, but you cannot become an expert in anything without having the appropriate education. What it will be - courses, private lessons, secondary vocational or higher education - you decide. Only there you will be able to fully achieve the required level of competence.
Stage 4: Strength test.
This step is necessary and inevitable. Criticism, first failures, struggle with yourself, doubts about your capabilities and lack of experience - everyone has to go through this, but not everyone, unfortunately, goes through. But a person who really wants to do what he has taken on and knows how to overcome, is the future master of his craft. And he will overcome.
Stage 5: Continuous development.
As you already understood, there will be plenty of obstacles on the way. Perhaps this is what spurs us to move on, i.e. constantly develop, improve skills, be “in the stream”. Only in this way, trying to prove to yourself and others that tomorrow you will be worth more than today, you can achieve and become a winner.
Stage 6: Rivalry.
We live once. For what? In order to remain in someone's shadow, being in this shadow, to follow someone's success and blame others for your disorder? This path is for losers. But we do not want to record ourselves in their discordant ranks, do we? Then only the desire to be the first, the best will move us closer to the chosen goal. It is not even the fact of victory that is important here, but the constant movement towards it.
Stage 7: From heaven to earth.
Very often, after the first successes, the first contract, the first recognition and positive evaluation, we begin to feel our exclusivity. We think we have achieved a lot. This, of course, adds the motivation we need so much. But you need to remember that there are other knowledgeable people around you who can make real competition, and they are enough to make you stop feeling like a big fish in a puddle of fry. Don't let success blind you and make you freeze.
Stage 8: Realistic assessment of what is happening.
We must not forget the simple truth - it is impossible to know everything. It is the knowledge of this that distinguishes true masters of their craft from the "average". And this is precisely what will prevent you, who already have a lot of knowledge and experience, from moving on throughout your life.

I want to become a master. But what qualities do you need to have for this? Where to go master training how much to study and what results can be achieved? We'll find out today.

Quite often in everyday life we say: this person is "Jack of all trades", "The work of the master is afraid" or "Master of his craft", etc. Faced with the concept of a master, we do not even think that this is not only a personal characteristic of a person, but also a type of professional activity.

It turns out that in many spheres of social life one can meet representatives of this profession, who, by the way, were once trained as masters.

For example, a production foreman is the head of a small production area; a foreman in consumer service organizations is a skilled worker; and the master mentor is an example for the beginning worker; in the field of education - a master of industrial training, which organizes the process of training in working professions, and even a master of sports - a title, a qualification level in sports.

In other words, the training of masters is only a general expression, since a master is a person who has a huge stock of knowledge, skills and abilities in his professional activity and has achieved high level in his field and, what is especially important, he is ready to transfer his accumulated experience to future specialists.

Not every highly qualified specialist can become a master. Then how can you get such a profession and where to get training for masters?

Where to start training as a master and how to become one?

First, you need to get a good professional education, which is not a problem today. In Chelyabinsk, a large number of educational institutions provide educational services. But the master is not only a leader of a certain level in a labor organization, he is also a teacher-mentor for young professionals.

Secondly, when starting to train as a master, you need to think about the responsibility that this specialist bears. So, for example, the main task of the industrial training of the master is the development and education of future workers and the result of training directly depends on the pedagogical and professional literacy of the teacher. He is a teacher of the profession, who passes on to the younger generation all his experience and skills and forms a conscious attitude to work.

Thirdly, having completed training, the master can work both in production and independently, offer his services in training and in the field of professional activity. Then it is necessary to formalize the right to individual entrepreneurship, obtain all the necessary documents for doing business.

Fourthly, in order to organize a successful educational process, the master must have a sufficiently high level of general culture and a broad outlook.

He must be familiar with popular science literature, works of art, know and understand the youth subculture - without this, certain difficulties arise when working with adolescents.

Industrial training for a foreman cannot be conducted without using the knowledge of related academic disciplines and information from everyday life. Thus, showing the connection of theoretical knowledge with practice.

In Chelyabinsk, many educational organizations offer training in the specialty of a master. Upon completion of the full course of study, a diploma and a guarantee of prestigious employment are issued.

The process of training masters

The process of training masters takes place in several stages.

The first stage is the study of the theoretical foundations of the future profession, which provides for classroom and extracurricular work. Such training sessions are conducted directly by the practicing master, who is ready to actually demonstrate the basic methods of work, point out typical mistakes and show the merits of this kind of professional activity.

The second (main) stage is practical exercises. Here you will have to work hard to gain your own practical experience in organizing the educational process. And most importantly, you can always use the help of an experienced specialist.

  • learn to acquire knowledge under the guidance of a mentor and independently;
  • to teach how to work, including to form the ability to evaluate the results of work and correct it;
  • to teach how to live, that is, to be able to quickly adapt to changing conditions of production, to realize oneself both in personal and professional fields of activity;
  • learn to live together: to form a stable system of value relations to the world, people and society.

The third stage of the process of training masters is the passage of industrial practice. It is organized in accordance with the requirements for a particular field of activity. The place of practice is chosen by the educational organization or the student independently (there may be a direct place of work). According to its results, a qualification of a certain level can be awarded.

After completing the training, the masters are issued documents confirming the development of the corresponding level of vocational education - this is a certificate and a certificate.

The master of education in this field of activity becomes a teacher who, on the one hand, has a scientific mindset, and on the other hand, a huge creative potential. Such people are aware of the achievements of pedagogy and teaching methods, are constantly in search of something new.
