Dan brown similar books. Dan Brown's books - features, interesting facts and reviews

In the section on the question Please advise authors who write in the style of Dan Brown. given by the author electrosleep the best answer is I agree with the advice of Umberto Eco (but he is much more complex than Dan Brown, more intelligent). "Foucault's Pendulum", if it goes, then then another "Name of the Rose" (here's another story).
Disagree about Arturo Perez-Reverte - he has amazing style and is much smarter than Dan Brown. There are no outright lies. Recommend. Start with "Flemish Board".
Intelligent detectives:
Carlos Ruiz Safon “Shadow of the Wind” is relatively new.
Scarlett Thomas "Delusion of Lumas" - there is still mysticism.
Walter Moers "City of Dreaming Books" - there is still fantasy.
Ian Pierce "The Pointing Finger" - to be honest, it was niasilila to the end.
Stieg Larsson "The Girl Who..." is a good solid cycle. Although not without some blunders. But Brown has a lot more blunders.
Robert Ludlum "The Scarlatti Legacy" and "The Bourne Identity" are included.
==
Harlan Coben writes wonderful psychological detective stories: "The Thicket", "The Lost", "Just One Look" ... - in general, take any, you won't regret it.
==
Rollins - there a blunder sits on a blunder and drives a blunder.

The parents were completely different from each other. He is a mathematician, she is a musician. For a long time, close people of the two lovers did not understand this union, because there was nothing in common between them. However, the young couple found happiness in marriage.

After leaving school, Dan Brown entered the university where his father taught.

The writer studied for many years, graduating from universities and colleges one after another. Despite the fact that in the family Brown was not instilled with a love for any science, Dan was very interested in world history. This is what contributed to such a sharp and strong take-off in the popularity of books when Brown began to publish them.

After the writer graduated from the Faculty of History in Spain in 1986, he decided to try his hand at music. He independently wrote lyrics, music and performed his own compositions.

Already in 2000, another Dan's bestseller, Angels and Demons, was released, which was filmed a few years later. This book marked the beginning of a well-known series of books about the life of an inconspicuous professor, who is always in trouble, and the way out of them is not so easy to find.

In 2001, Brown wrote Point of Deception, which covered all the political issues related to morality in government.

Literary criticism

The works of Dan Brown are constantly discussed. Moreover, the criticism is quite serious, many well-known literary experts regularly express very harsh judgments regarding the writer's work.

The main reason for this was the preface to the books, in which the author insists on the accuracy of all the historical facts that he cites in the works. To one of the phrases of the famous world critic, Brown replied that he mixes real events and fictional ones so that people are more interested in history. In addition, the author noted that many readers understand this move and are happy to plunge into the plot of the book. For those who advocate only true and verified facts, Dan advised to choose another author.

In response to this loud statement, critic Chivers began to say that most of even the most famous facts are described by Brown at all. The critic studied the entire list of works by Dan Brown. As an example, he cites the same Copernicus, who lived a very long life and died at a ripe old age. And in the author's work it is said that this famous person was burned at the stake. Chivers gives many such examples, but Dan Brown does not pay any attention to this and just continues to create.

To read or not to read?

Dan Brown's books are truly worth reading. Perhaps the critics are right that not all the facts in the works are accurate, but this only adds zest to the writer's work. The way Dan Brown presents the story to the reader can entice and make you really interested in this science.

One can only hope that for many more years the writer will delight readers all over the world with his wonderful works, the plots and characters of which are very different from those that are found today at every turn.

for Slytherin

The Holy Grail awaits under Roslyn... How enchanting this phrase sounds! One secret of the Holy Grail is enough to attract the attention of an inquisitive reader for a long time. And if the author offers to walk along the mysterious Rose Line, then it is no longer possible to resist.
I love the way Dan Brown writes. On the one hand, everything is fast and dynamic. There are no long digressions and stomping in the same place, but at the same time, a lot of attention is paid to important details. These excursions into history and descriptions of architectural monuments just won my heart! So it seems that you either rush through the dark streets of sleeping Paris, or try to get lost in the gloomy Bois de Boulogne, or cross the English Channel in search of one of the Templar churches. I immediately want to wave somewhere in Europe and get lost there for several days, or even months.
The author dared to touch on very delicate topics. Someone might even say that he simply outraged the faith. Although... Can an ordinary (albeit very high-quality) novel really undermine a person's faith in God? And if it can, then, most likely, the problem is not in the book, but in the power of faith, or rather, in the absence of such, in a person. In my opinion, faith and religion are far from being the same thing. And you can not replace faith in God with faith in the church. It's like sitting under a light bulb and thinking that its light is much nicer than the light of the sun.
Probably, I do not have a special right to judge the reliability of the facts that the author cites about the nature and history of the Holy Grail. I think there are many experts in this area. But personally, I have nothing to do with them. How to proceed? To accept everything as the ultimate truth, or to vehemently deny and condemn even the possibility of the existence of such a hypothesis? For me, everything is so ridiculously simple: let everyone decide for himself what and how deeply to believe in him. It is foolish to take everything on faith, without having any reason for this. But it’s even more stupid to deny everything right away just because it fundamentally contradicts your worldview.
The book also has a very interesting detective line with several unexpected plot twists. And even if at the beginning you think that everything is very clear (who is a friend and who is an enemy seems terribly obvious), then the longer you read, the more you understand that not every truth can be recognized the first time. So you won't get bored while reading. Either way, I have never regretted picking up this book. The only thing that confuses me is that I can’t get rid of one obsessive thought in any way ... Or, maybe, in truth, the Holy Grail is waiting under Roslin?
