Not only is he not allowed there, they also laugh behind the closed door. "Let them burst with laughter!" - Little Santa Claus decides and goes to the forest. There will be real friends there who will support him!
This is the fourth book by Anna Shtoner about the adventures of Little Santa Claus, who is known to readers from the books "Little Santa Claus", "Little Santa Claus Goes to Town" and "Little Santa Claus Travels Around the World". In the New Year, magic lurks everywhere. It can be seen in the frosty pattern on the window. Or on the silvery surface of a Christmas toy. You feel the magic when you carefully take a glass toy out of the box, unfold it, barely breathing, unravel the thread and choose a suitable Christmas tree paw.
On New Year's Eve, Christmas decorations come to life, and their fun adventures begin. Where did Plasticine Donkey travel? How did Puppy Yip stop being a coward? Why is it so important that there is not a speck of dust on the silver Fairy? And when does the Ball happen, where dreams come true?
Hurry up and open this book, and then a fairy tale woven from childhood memories, fluffy snow, aromas of pine needles, citrus fruits and celebrations will not end, but will warm you all year with its warmth!

In St. Petersburg, full of wonders and mysteries, real fairy tales take place on New Year's Eve. And how can they not happen if Santa Claus is offended by everyone - both children and adults - and instead of the main winter holiday he is going to a resort. And it doesn't snow. And the girl Yulia thinks that the New Year will not come at all. Perhaps he would not have come if the smallest snowflake named Ksyusha had not taken up the New Year's business. First, she and Yulia became friends, then they learned the secret of Santa Claus, and then ... then a time travel happened ...
A girl and a snowflake end up in old St. Petersburg, at a time when Skype did not replace live communication, when letters were written on stationery paper, and not on a computer, when children played simple, but such exciting games - together, and not each on their own . When preparing for Christmas and New Year brought the whole family together…
The story-tale created by Elena Pervushina unobtrusively tells about what holds our families together: about traditions, family values, about the memory of generations. Amazing illustrations by Lyudmila Pipchenko perfectly complement the text, leaving neither children nor adults indifferent.

Site site thanks you for your attention to the article! We would love it if you share your feedback and tips in the comments below.

It seems to me that every year the preparation for the New Year begins earlier and earlier. And although in my plans the beginning of my daughter's moral preparation for the New Year was somewhere in early December, shops and shopping centers with their decorated Christmas trees ruthlessly destroyed my plans, my daughter is already interested in the holiday with might and main. Therefore, you have to comply and already now carefully consider New Year's fun. And I started with the selection of books that will create a winter-New Year mood for us throughout December (and the beginning of January, probably, too).

In this article I will talk about the New Year's books that we read last year when my daughter was 2 years old. Well, a little later I will publish what is prepared for this winter, i.e. selection of Christmas books for children from 3 years. As usual, I include only what I liked in the list.

So, children's books about the New Year and Christmas:

1. I. Surikov "Childhood" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

I put this book number one because it has a special place in my heart. And yes, it is one of my daughter's favorites too. On a fragment of the well-known poem "Here is my village ..." artist Mikhail Bychkov wrote absolutely incredible illustrations. They convey the atmosphere of a Russian village in winter so subtly that it seems that you can even feel the tingling of frost on your cheeks, and you can hear the howl of a blizzard outside the window. So much warmth, light, comfort.

For an adult, this book is nostalgic, reading it, as if plunging into childhood, remembering something dear and long forgotten. For a child, this is a magical and very beautiful fairy tale with many amazing details, as well as an opportunity to get acquainted with the peasant life.

2. E. Migunov "Winter fun" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

Another wonderful winter book by a Russian author. And also in poetry. The book is thin, but perfect for creating a snowy-winter mood. The poems are kind, perky, there are many small children in the illustrations, and children love this passion.

With this book, a child can make a real discovery that from the snow, it turns out, you can not only make a snowman, but also a hippopotamus, ducks, a camel, yes, in general, anything!

3. (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

A book with a simple but very sweet story about a good watchman Uncle Willy. The plot is in many ways reminiscent of "Teremok": the poor frozen little animals came on a cold winter night to the watchman, who did not refuse anyone an overnight stay and was ready to warm everyone under his blanket. Most of all, the book captivates with a cozy and very winter mood: when the greatest pleasure is to go home from the cold and quickly warm up in an embrace with your loved ones.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that this is a paperback edition, which is a bit surprising, since in this price category a book is usually honored with a hard cover.

4. (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

If in the first three books there was not a word about the New Year, then here, as the name implies, we finally got to this cherished holiday. The book will briefly tell the child who Santa Clauses are, where they live. (At first, however, I was embarrassed by the fact that there are many Santa Clauses here) But the main thread of the work is not in this. This story is not about the usual Santa Claus, but about a very small one. So small that he was not even allowed to do the main thing in his life - to give gifts to children. However, every person, big or small, can find their happiness and place in life, one has only to look around. It turned out this and the little Santa Claus. In other words, the main idea of the book is that any person is significant and useful in this world, regardless of their size, age, financial situation.

Reading "Little Santa Claus" usually causes a storm of emotions in the daughter: How is it that Santa Claus was left alone in the forest? And why has no one ever given gifts to animals before? My fear about a large number of Santa Clauses was not confirmed, my daughter took this fact calmly and with understanding. In general, we liked the book, although the text is a little bit. Therefore, the age category is 2-3 years.

By the way, a whole series of books has been written about little Santa Claus, there are also books about how he grows up, goes to town, travels around the world.

5. New Year's collections with works by Suteev, Mikhalkov, Barto, Marshak and others. One of the best collections is “ Big New Year's gift» (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

Of course, the selection of books would be incomplete without the New Year-winter works of Soviet writers, such as Suteev's "Christmas Tree", Mikhalkov's "Frost and Frost", Barto's "It Was in January", Muradyan's "Zaikin's Fur Coat", but it's impossible to list everything. They are published, as a rule, in the collections of the corresponding authors or in special New Year's collections, of which there are many now. I searched for a very, very long time and finally found the collection of my dreams - this is " Big New Year's gift» from the publishing house AST! It’s a pity that they released it only now, last year I didn’t manage to find a collection suitable for a two-year-old and we had to choose New Year’s fairy tales and poems from books Suteeva, Mikhalkov, Barto.

I'll tell you about the merits of the "Big New Year's Gift". First, it's as much as 500 pages of New Year's reading! Really New Year's, and not as often happens in many pseudo-winter books, where anything is collected, but not fairy tales about the New Year and winter. Secondly, finding a collection for a two-year-old is not so easy, basically all publications are designed for older children. And in this book, almost half of the content is quite understandable for a child of 2 years old, the rest can be read later (so the book is not for one year). And, thirdly, this, of course, is the magnificent content of the book - all the most beloved writers of our childhood in excellent design.

\

Of the shortcomings - this is, firstly, the somewhat dubious strength of the book. I'm afraid that, like many very thick books, it may suffer in the process of constant use, especially since the binding is integral (it's something between a hard and soft cover). Secondly, I didn’t really like the layout of the book: in some fairy tales, “text overtakes pictures” or vice versa, this is not very convenient, because you have to read the text first, and only then turn the page and look at the illustration. But personally, the shortcomings did not bother me much, the content of this “New Year's gift” is very tempting.

6. Tim Dowley "Christmas Night" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

The perfect book to introduce your child to the holiday of Christmas. And not just dating, but very exciting and interesting. Here, briefly and clearly the kid is told about the main biblical events. None of the children's bibles that I have ever seen was written in such an accessible way that a two or three year old child could listen to it with pleasure. But the main highlight of the book, of course, is not in this. The book on each page has movable elements and opening windows that make the book very alive. You can knock with a hammer together with Joseph, shake the baby Jesus in Mary's arms, open the window and see an angel appear. And on the last page you can also see a large voluminous nativity scene! But it's better to see once than hear a hundred times, so watch the video.

7. " Snow Maiden» (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

The well-known winter Russian folk tale. I think every adult is familiar with it, it's time for our children to know

Taisiya and I read a book by the Ripol Classic publishing house with patchwork inserts, the text in this book is simplified to the point of impossibility, I wanted more authentic. There is a very good one on sale right now. edition from "Rech" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop) with excellent illustrations and well-edited text.

Yes, and if you decide to buy a collection of " Big New Year's gift", then there is already a fairy tale" Snow Maiden ".

eight. " Mitten» (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

And another Russian folk tale on a winter theme. The plot is very simple. But the main value of the book is, of course, illustrations by Luke Koopmans. They are gentle and calm. It is very interesting to follow them as the mitten becomes larger and larger as the plot develops, and the autumn landscape turns into winter, acquiring ever deeper snowdrifts.

Although the book says age 2+, you can start reading earlier.

9. " What will happen in the New Year» (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

A very good collection of poems about the New Year and winter. There are Usachev, Barto, Cherny, Grigorieva. Last winter, I read this book to the holes with my daughter. Taisiya learned many poems by heart. The illustrations are pleasant, very colorful, though they do not differ too much in the variety of emotions on the faces of the characters.

10. A. Shmachtl “The Adventures of Julius Oduvanchka. Save the New Year" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

In the rabbit family, preparations for the New Year are in full swing, only in the pre-holiday bustle everyone forgot about the most important thing - the New Year tree. Little rabbit Julius decides to save the New Year and go in search of a Christmas tree on his own. Having overcome all difficulties, he, of course, copes with this difficult task, and the whole family celebrates the New Year next to the Christmas tree, decorated with carrots and apples.

Delicate watercolor illustrations in the book are beyond praise. A good book to create a magical pre-holiday mood.

11. Nancy Walker-Guy "The Best Gift for Christmas" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

My daughter and I liked this book, but I can’t say that it became a super hit, like “ Childhood" or " christmas night", for example. The narrative here is calm and measured, there are few events taking place. But the topic of friendship comes up. A bear, a raccoon and a hare went to visit their friend the badger, but on the way the wind carried away all the gifts that the friends themselves made for the badger. Naturally, this could not but upset friends. However, the badger, meeting the guests, is not upset at all and says very correct and important words “Christmas with best friends is the most wonderful gift.”

At the end of the story, gifts are miraculously found and decorate the Christmas tree to the delight of everyone.

12. Rotraut Susanne Berner "The Winter Book" (Ozone, labyrinth, My shop)

And, of course, the inimitable Winter Book, which no longer needs to be introduced! What Berner's books are, I have already written more than once, you can read more.

As for the Winter Book, it is very atmospheric: fluffy New Year's Eve snow falls asleep on the streets, the heroes rush to buy and decorate holiday trees, prepare gifts, go skating, skiing, and even Santa Claus himself appears in the city!

There are an incredible amount of events and details in the book; it is simply not possible to revise them all at once. Therefore, watch and watch the whole of December!

13. Y. Kumykov "New Year's story" (labyrinth, My shop)

I already mentioned this toy book before, you can read it.

That's all. I hope the selection will help you decide on books for New Year's reading with your baby. If you liked the article, tell your friends about it, this can be done using the social media buttons right below the article. Thank you for your attention!

Hello everyone, I am writing the promised list of New Year and winter books for our children.

I'll start with books for ages 1-3.

1) I. Surikov "Childhood". I already wrote about this book in a previous post, but I decided to remind you of it again, because it suits our subject just in time.

For an adult, this book is nostalgic, reading it, as if plunging into childhood, remembering something dear and long forgotten. For a child, this is a magical and very beautiful fairy tale with many amazing details, as well as an opportunity to get acquainted with the peasant life.

2) Nick Butterworth "One Winter Night"

A book with a simple but very sweet story about a good watchman Uncle Willy. The plot is in many ways reminiscent of "Teremok": the poor frozen little animals came on a cold winter night to the watchman, who did not refuse anyone an overnight stay and was ready to warm everyone under his blanket. Most of all, the book captivates with a cozy and very winter mood: when the greatest pleasure is to go home from the cold and quickly warm up in an embrace with your loved ones. The book can be started from 1.5 years. The important point is the paperback book.

3) Anu Shtoner "Little Santa Claus"

The book will briefly tell the child who Santa Clauses are, where they live (although some may be confused by the fact that there are many Santa Clauses here). But this is not the main thing.

4) Collection "Big New Year's gift"

Advantages of this collection:

First, it's as much as 500 pages of New Year's reading! Really New Year's, and not as often happens in manypseudo-winter books, where anything is collected, but not fairy tales about the New Year and winter.

The downside, for me personally, is the price. There are almost 1000 Russians on the Labyrinth. rubles. But for such a book you should not spare money!

On the forums, they also write one drawback - due to the large size, weight and integral binding, the book can suffer very quickly, for example, due to a fall.

5) Tim Dawley "Christmas Night"

The perfect book to introduce your child to the holiday of Christmas. And not just dating, but very exciting and interesting. It briefly and clearly tells the kid about the main biblical events. The book has movable elements on each page and opening windows that make the book very alive. You can knock with a hammer together with Joseph, shake the baby Jesus in Mary's arms, open the window and see an angel appear. And on the last page you can also see a large voluminous nativity scene!

6) Book with patchwork inserts "Snow Maiden"

The well-known winter Russian folk tale. The book is suitable for kids with 1+, because the text is simplified.

7) "Snow Maiden" with a longer text, and for older children, publishing house "Rech"

8) Russian folk tale "The Mitten" (illustrated by Luke Koopmans)

The plot is very simple and familiar to everyone. But the main value of the book is, of course, illustrations by Luke Koopmans. They are gentle and calm. It is very interesting to follow them as the mitten becomes larger and larger as the plot develops, and the autumn landscape turns into winter, acquiring ever deeper snowdrifts.

9) Poems "What will happen in the New Year"

A very good collection of poems about the New Year and winter. There are Usachev, Barto, Cherny, Grigorieva. The illustrations are pleasant, very colorful, though they do not differ too much in the variety of emotions on the faces of the characters.

10) A. Schmachtl "The Adventures of Julius Dandelion. Save the New Year"

11) Nancy Walker Guy "Best Christmas Present"

The narrative here is calm and measured, there are few events taking place. But the topic of friendship comes up. A bear, a raccoon and a hare went to visit their friend the badger, but on the way the wind carried away all the gifts that the friends themselves made for the badger. Naturally, this could not but upset friends. However, the badger, meeting the guests, is not upset at all and says very correct and important words that "Christmas with best friends is the most wonderful gift."

12) Rotraut Suzanne Berner "The Winter Book" - the famous Wimmelbuch. This book is very atmospheric: fluffy pre-New Year's snow falls asleep on the streets, the heroes rush to buy and decorate holiday trees, prepare gifts, go skating, skiing, and even Santa Claus himself appears in the city! There are an incredible amount of events and details in the book; it is simply not possible to revise them all at once. Therefore, watch and watch the whole of December!

13) Yu. Kumykov "New Year's story"

14) Barto, Lagzdyn, Tokmakova “New Year. Bookmark Poems»

And each of them eventually receives an appropriate reward for their work: a needlewoman - a bucket with silver patches, and a sloth - an ingot of mercury.

2)D. Donaldson "Chelovetkin"

This book is about the fact that everything in nature is alive. And even an ordinary stick can have its own opinion, feelings, and even a family. Wherever the protagonist of Chelovetkin's book was brought: the dog played with him, and the children threw him into the river, and the swan used to build his nest. And in the end, Chelovetkin generally found himself among the firewood in the New Year's fireplace. Being away from home, Chelovetkin dreamed of only one thing - to return to his cane family. So he would have died ingloriously if Santa Claus, who climbed through the fireplace, had not saved him. In other words, a very touching New Year's Eve story.

3) I. Thai "Santa Claus"

The tale is very New Year's, very atmospheric. The plot is not hackneyed, and familiar characters are shown not only from the side we are used to. In addition to Santa Claus, the Snow Maiden and classic little animals, there is a new interesting character Yegor-despite. And the Nightingale the Robber is the main violator of public peace here, he can’t come to terms with the fact that Santa Claus took the best Christmas tree in the forest. The book is divided into chapters, and therefore, if desired, you can read it in parts.

The disadvantage is, in my opinion, not bright enough, large illustrations.

4) V. Zotov "New Year's story"

The illustrations in the book are colorful, bright, with interesting details that you can look at with pleasure. Good book, well written and easy to read. In this "New Year's story", Santa Claus, watching the guys, chose for everyone the most suitable gifts that they had long dreamed of. But the boy Vitya, who behaved badly, did not obey and did not want to study, he left without a gift. The moral of the book is clear. But this model of education is not suitable for every family.

5) Sven Nurdqvist "Christmas in Petson's house"

Sweet, kind New Year's Eve story. The plot of the book is quite simple - before Christmas, the protagonist of the book, Petson, injured his leg, and therefore could not go into the forest for a Christmas tree and shop for holiday treats. Petson was already resigned to the fact that his holiday was ruined, but then the neighbors, having learned about his trouble, began to come in turn, congratulating him on the holiday, and giving him various delicious gifts. Thus, a holiday that promised to be so dreary turned into a merry celebration of Christmas, which Petson had never had before.

I really like the bright, warm illustrations with lots of detail.

6) P. Bazhov "Silver Hoof"

The fairy tale "Silver Hoof" is simply magical, it is about winter, about a miracle, about kindness and patience. Of course, for a modern child, something in the text will turn out to be incomprehensible, something will have to be explained, something will have to be paraphrased. But in general, the plot is understandable and interesting for a three-year-old child. It is from this tale, it seems to me, that it is best to start acquaintance with Bazhov's work. Mikhail Bychkov's illustrations made the fairy tale even more magical and colorful, adding interesting details about the time and place where the events of the fairy tale take place. The disadvantage of the book is the layout. Several spreads in the book have no text at all, which means that you must first read the text, and only then turn the page and look at the picture. In my opinion, this is very inconvenient for children's perception.

7) A. Usachev "Winter's Tale"

You won't get bored reading this book. The lyrics are funny and humorous. Olga Demidova's illustrations are also not boring. Yes, they are not classic, perhaps not everyone will like long-nosed and somewhat angular characters, but, in my opinion, the pictures perfectly complement the funny text, create a cheerful mood.

8) "New Year in reverse"

A wonderful thin collection from the publishing house "Foma". Here are collected poems mainly by contemporary authors, whose names I personally have not yet known. But the poems made me very happy, they are touching and cozy, with humor and a really winter atmosphere.

9) Ulrike Motshiunig "How the fox celebrated the New Year"

The book is not just a beautiful story about how a little fox stuck his nose out of a mink in the winter and went to look for a holiday, but about what a holiday is for every living being! For connoisseurs of magical illustrations.

It is impossible to list all the books with the New Year theme, their number is huge! I would be glad if you add some of your favorite books in the comments. Thank you for your attention.

suddenly someone will be useful!

Today with Katya made an order. slightly edited what I originally wanted. and this is what happened:

1. Julia Donaldson. in the end I ordered 3 books - Timothy Scott, The Gruffalo's Daughter and Chelovetkin. With the books of this author, we have never made a mistake - my daughter loves all the books and we re-read them often - Tulka, Kit and Snail, Gruffalo and I want to go to my mother. I advise moms of babies from 1.5-2 years old! amazing books

2. Sung Il - "Ts-s-s." we already have a book by this author, just the winter “Br-r-r”, that year I ordered it for the new year. I was captivated by the illustrations to the very heart! very unusual and beautiful, in my opinion. the text is simple, but unusual.

3. My first English. Development cards.

These are our first cards. When I initially threw my list of books, I doubted a few - Katya helped me and we decided to order these cards instead of Mike's book, Happy New Year, kitten Shmyak and Primer. Anya is interested in English, watches cartoons, counts to 5, sings songs. Well, why not develop this interest. A Primer and then you can buy

4. Clover publishing house, books from the Find and Show series. I also took 2 books from the series, we already have one - about a shark. I also take it, because my daughter really likes to find objects, playing with a book is a real educational tool. Yes, and the topic of animals is now very relevant for us

5. Sven Nordqvist "Christmas in Petson's house"

6. Russian folk tales for kids.

My daughter finally appreciated folk tales, hooray! I myself tell her fairy tales from memory - Gingerbread Man, Teremok, Ryaba Hen, Turnip, Masha and the Three Bears, Zhikharka. And we also had (were!!! thank you dog pancake) a magnetic board with figures - a mini theater with 4 fairy tales - the daughter herself told them, played them. I think buying a second one is a very cool thing for such folk tale fans. And here is the book:

7. Agniya Barto "It was in January"

Where perishing without verses. The daughter knows the banal “A Christmas tree was born in the forest” and “The little Christmas tree is cold in winter” - she tells them like poems. And I don't know anymore. Let's replenish the piggy bank of New Year's poems. Moreover, I love Barto dearly, like my daughter - we already have a large collection of her poems

8. I decided to try what kind of animal such Kumon is. I ordered the simplest - Learn to color. If you like it, I will order more

9. Well, sticker books for my daughter. Stickers are her love, probably from a year old. Therefore, I ordered 2 thematic ones: “My Magical New Year” and “Miracles for the New Year”. I'll put it under the tree on January 1, and I'll doze off myself, bgg

And I also forgot again, but then I will definitely order a large collection of Chukovsky - I love it with all my heart. although we already know his poems, but this is more I tell by heart and there are a couple of books.

And another tip for those with older kids! I was absolutely fascinated by the book “Christmas tree. A hundred years ago ”but she’s aged, I think 4+ - there’s quite a lot of text, mine won’t sit. and so - I advise!

I hope this mini "review" is useful to someone.

By the way, almost all books in the labyrinth are now 20% or 30% off! There are a lot of things that I didn’t put off: (for example, an Advent book or a coloring book. They sort it out like pies (like I recently wrote about book wish and everything was in stock, and now bye-bye)

And here are our last year gift books! Also, with a clear conscience, I can advise everyone - we did not fail with a single
