It is possible to receive a grant only for education, in which case the student himself bears the rest of the costs. The grant may also include scholarships for study abroad.

Youth grants are mainly issued according to the following scheme.

They like to take students from Russia to China, the Baltic countries. Grants are often given to study in Germany.

In these countries, most universities are able to offer students a choice of many of the world's most sought-after specialties.

Young people themselves can choose another country that is attractive to them.

Most foreign higher institutions are interested in the influx of foreign students, and the quality of education in Russian schools and universities suits them, so they willingly accept Russian youth.

are going documents according to the list sent by the university.

All of these documents must be clearly and in detail filled out, it is on this that in most cases the scholarship abroad, its size and validity period depend.

If a positive response is sent you must send the requested documents to the university and ensure that the 2014-2015 tuition grants are paid on time before classes begin.

Often we give up on our dreams only because we cannot financially master its realization. This statement is just the same for studying at prestigious foreign universities. Many choose a more modest alternative after learning about the cost of learning there. And someone receives grants for education and calmly achieves his lofty goal. You should not assume that these are geniuses, people with connections or just lucky ones. Each of us can receive a grant to study abroad, and not necessarily a student. How? We will tell you about this further.

About the grant

In 2014, a scholarship program called "Global Education" was launched in our country. In 2017, it was extended until 2025. The winner can receive an allowance of 2.76 million rubles annually. Moreover, the grant can be used not only to pay for tuition, but also to pay for your own accommodation, meals, and the purchase of educational materials.

The official operator of the program is Skolkovo, and the official state customer is the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Almost every one of us can receive such a grant for education - the conditions for participation in the competition are simple:

  • Be a citizen of the Russian Federation.
  • Have no outstanding criminal record.
  • Pass entrance examinations to the chosen foreign educational institution.

Do not forget about gratitude to the state - upon graduation, the grant holder must work in the chosen specialty in Russia for three years. For violation of the conditions, concealment of information - a strict fine, three times the total amount of the grant.

Algorithm for obtaining a grant

If you are going to receive a grant to study abroad, then you need to act according to this simple algorithm:

  1. Choose the right university and field of study.
  2. Submit documents to this university and successfully pass the entrance examinations.
  3. Register on the official website of "Global Education". Fill out a template application, attaching scans of the necessary documentation to it.
  4. Get an education, return to the Russian Federation and "repay debt" to the state.

The first stage: the choice of specialty and university

So, for starters, you need to choose one of 32 specialties in 5 priority areas, which are represented in 288 universities in 32 countries of the world. Be careful: you can get a grant for education only for master's, postgraduate and residency programs! You can find a complete up-to-date list of specialties and universities in the officially approved list on the website of the Global Education program.

We will analyze some of the difficulties that may lie in wait for you already at this stage.

Problem Decision
A large selection of universities, countries - is education of the same quality everywhere?

We hasten to assure you that all universities of the Global Education program are included in the top 300 best universities in the world.

Where to start - with the choice of university or specialty?

First, decide on the specialty, and only then - with the university, the education in which is of better quality. The statistics of employment of its graduates, analysis of the weight of the educational institution in the scientific world will help you in choosing.

On what should the choice of specialty be based?

The specialty should be chosen strictly from the list approved by the program. You must have a bachelor's degree or a specialist specifically in her or a close related field. As an alternative to the document, proven work experience in this field is accepted.

Now let's move on to the second stage.

Second stage: submission of documentation and admission

Let us clarify that grants for studying abroad for Russia are provided only if you successfully pass the entrance examinations to the selected university. First of all, you need to submit documents - their set depends on a particular country, university and study program. The standard set is as follows:

  • international passport. Please note that it must not be expired - otherwise, update the document before submitting documentation.
  • Diploma. Usually, the selection committee pays attention only to the average score in subjects, which is why applicants with triples also have chances.
  • Language exam certificate for the language in which the training program will be conducted. For example, IELTS tests are popular for English.
  • Optional: motivation letter, resume, references, portfolio(the latter is a necessary element for creative professions).

Stage Three: Dealing with Risks

Here you have sent all the necessary package of documents, and here the most exciting thing in the pursuit of a study grant begins - the tedious waiting for the results. Let's look at the problems that may lie in wait for you at this stage.

  • Did not pass the language exam for the required score. Take this test carefully! Especially getting a grant for failing a language exam can ruin all your plans for entering a foreign university, so start preparing for it in advance and thoroughly.
  • The university takes a long time to respond to your application. The problem is that there are no definite deadlines for the response for the admissions committee of the university - your application can be approved both in a week and in a few months. But the Global Education competition is an urgent one, so you need to make sure to upload your enrollment data before it ends. However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that it consists of four competitive selections. Therefore, if you did not have time for the first one, you can switch in your profile on the site to the second, third and last.

  • Without making a deposit for training, they do not apply for a visa. The names of the winners are announced one month after the last selection. And the grants are transferred to them a month later. The very issue of issuing a visa is resolved within 4-6 weeks. Therefore, there is a high chance that you will not have time to start training traditionally in September. There are two ways out - either pay for training at your own expense, or postpone its beginning. For some specialties, recruitment is not 1, but 2-4 times a year, so you can easily start mastering knowledge when everything is ready.
  • Communication with the university is difficult or interrupted. If you can't get through to the chosen university in any way, then contact the special agencies and educational centers that oversee the program. If they have a connection specifically with your university (the easiest way is if you receive a grant through your own channels, they can quickly get all the data you need and significantly save precious time.

Fourth stage: registration and application

Registering on the Global Education website is a simple process. Stick to this algorithm:

  1. Be sure to upload your business photo.
  2. Fill in personal data: number of passports, Russian and foreign, diploma of education. If the latter is not yet available, then enter an arbitrary combination of characters - you will enter the actual number upon receipt of the document. Upload your scientific papers, publications.
  3. In the "Application" tab, indicate the selected training program.
  4. There also add an estimate for training - first an approximate one, and then an exact one - upon receipt of approval from the university, where the account will be necessarily registered. The maximum amount is 2.76 million rubles per year. At the same time, the amount of related expenses should not exceed 1.38 million rubles annually.
  5. After filling, register in the system and be sure to get a number in the electronic queue! In the event of a competition for a place, it is received by the one who applied earlier.
  6. After registration, upload everything marked with an asterisk to the "Documents" tab.

Fifth stage: you are the winner!

As soon as the competitive recruitment is completed, one must again tediously wait for a whole month - before the publication of the list of names of the winners. If you are among the lucky ones, then over the next 30 days you need to do the following: send the original scans that were uploaded to "Documents", sign an agreement and provide a bank account to which the grant amount will be transferred.

An important point: you report only for the cost of training. You will not be asked for an estimate for related costs, so you can, without a shadow of a doubt, compensate for the visa fee, passing the language exam, air travel, etc. with this part of the grant.

Sixth stage: return to Russia

Naturally, the Russian Federation approved grants not for charitable purposes - the country needs competent, qualified specialists. Why, after graduation, you need to not only return to your homeland within 30 days, but also get a job in one of the organizations cooperating with the Global Education program. Today, this list consists of 607 positions, which you can find in detail on the official website.

As you remember, the minimum term of your contract is 3 years. There are many universities, scientific associations, leading industrial enterprises in this list, so we can safely talk about great freedom of choice. We advise you to think about the place of work 4-6 months before graduation and discuss all aspects with your future employer in advance.

About the nuances

Getting a grant to study in the USA is great news! But we hasten to sober you up a bit with the following facts:

  • The grant is only money, not curatorship. You will have to deal with visa processing, look for housing on your own. However, within the framework of the program, you can always count on the free assistance of the agencies cooperating with it, which will thoroughly advise you and help you within their competence. A list of them is also available on the Global Education website.
  • Get ready to become a diligent student - for expulsion from the university you will pay a fine equal to the triple size of the grant. But such measures are rare for foreign universities. If you fail an exam, you can always retake it. But at an additional cost.
  • If training is more expensive than the equivalent of 2.76 million rubles, then you already pay the missing amount.
  • To receive a grant to study in Russia, you need unconditional enrollment from the university. To do this, you need to provide him with the original of your diploma and certificate of passing the language exam.

And finally - participation in the program is not limited to a certain age! Even if you graduated from a university "a hundred years ago", but want to develop further, you have every right to become a winner of the "Global Education".

Studying abroad... It would seem that it's just a dream. However, today this dream is quite possible to make a reality. One option is to receive a grant.

Modern youth is often interested in the question: how to get a grant to study abroad? And this is no coincidence. Studying abroad has huge benefits. What exactly? Let's talk about them first.

How to get a grant to study abroad? Benefits of studying abroad

First, studying abroad has a high level of education. This is primarily determined by high innovations, the level of knowledge and the peculiarities of student and teaching activities in foreign countries. Perhaps this is what most of all attracts modern youth.

Secondly, the significance of the diploma plays an important role. Compared to Russian education, a foreign diploma is valued higher both in Russia and in other countries. Thirdly, studying abroad will help you master a foreign language perfectly. No wonder they say that in order to learn a foreign language well, you need to constantly communicate with foreigners. Fourthly, people from various countries study at large foreign universities. Thus, you can gain invaluable experience and get international contacts. In addition, it is also an opportunity to make new friends, which is important. Fifth, studying abroad is a sure way to get a good job. In foreign universities, as a rule, there are special centers that help students with work, and an internship will help to establish oneself in a particular profession in advance. By the way, the rate of employment abroad among students is almost one hundred percent. If you love to travel, then studying abroad will not scare you with the difficulties ahead. So, let's move on to the question: how to win a grant to study abroad?

Admission to a foreign university. The first steps

The first thing to decide is, in fact, a specific country, a specific university and the program of this educational institution. Here you should think about your own interests and the future. What are you most interested in? What do you want to study? The program includes a number of studied disciplines, so as not to miscalculate with your expectations.

However, it is not enough to choose a specific university and program. If you have already done this, then it's time to proceed to the most difficult. Not all students can receive a grant to study abroad. If the motivation is really strong, then everything will definitely work out.

Several ways to improve your chances

Much higher chances are for students who have excellent academic performance, excellent command of a foreign language, and preferably more than one, and engaged in scientific activities that have the prospect of being implemented abroad. If a student fits into this category and has a desire to learn, then it's time to think about tuition grants, scholarships and competitions.

As a rule, foreign universities provide financial support to foreigners. This information can most often be found on the website of the university or on government websites. So how do you get a scholarship to study abroad?

Admission to a foreign university. What documents will be needed?

In addition to the grants provided on the site, you can find information on admission to this university, as well as various kinds of forms that must be filled out upon admission. So, what papers will be needed to receive a grant to study in Europe? It will take a lot of time and effort to enter a foreign university. First, you will need a photocopy of a higher education diploma or a document from an educational institution. Absolutely all documents must be certified in advance and translated into other languages. Do not neglect this, otherwise problems may arise later.

Drawing up a resume. What to write about?

Secondly, you need to write a resume correctly. Not at all what is filled out when applying for a job. To receive a grant, you must write an academic resume. It should be done very well. The summary indicates work, internships, achievements, your work in science, scholarships, work on projects, participation in volunteering: in general, everything that will present your candidacy at the highest level. Properly executed documents are the main key to success, which is why it is still necessary to double-check several times. This is about the admission itself. In order to receive a grant for studying abroad, you must indicate the full name on the model of a foreign passport, phone number, citizenship and e-mail. Don't include too much information on your resume. Some may be redundant. In a resume, it is important to provide only that information that will give a fairly complete picture of you and talk about your merits. The next step after filling out a resume is writing an essay.

An essay is a short letter. A special commission is assigned to study its contents. The first part is an introduction: an appeal to the commission and the presentation of one's own candidacy. From the main part, the members of the commission should find out why you have a desire to study at this particular university, what you would like to study, how you will pay for receiving a grant and how you will use the knowledge gained in the future. The most important thing is not to retell the summary. The ability to reason and explain correctly is especially valued here. You should not rewrite ready-made letters, say, from the Internet. Professionals will immediately recognize the lie, and the chances of receiving a study abroad grant will plummet to zero. To enter a foreign university, it is not enough to submit documents.

Passing the international exam

To do this, you must pass an international exam. Plus the time it takes to check before you know your result. In addition, it will also take time to send the results. Recommendations of teachers will not be superfluous. You could say they are essential. These papers must necessarily be signed by the teacher indicating his academic degrees, as well as the coordinates by which he can be contacted. In addition, you must provide confirmation of all your victories in various olympiads and a photocopy of your passport. In general, this is where the first stage of admission to a university in another country ends.

Interview - second stage

Next comes the interview. And if you were invited there, then the first stage has been successfully completed. What to do next and how to behave at the interview? What should be said and what should not be said? Let's talk about this next. There is no exact pattern of behavior that guarantees the successful receipt of a study grant, there are only some recommendations. Here are some of them.

How to succeed in an interview

First, you should take good care of your appearance. Here, as nowhere else, the following proverb fits better: "They meet by their clothes, see them off by their mind." You must be as polite and welcoming as possible. But the main thing is not to overdo it and be yourself. You must be confident, and this is perhaps the basis of success.

Secondly, copies of documents should always be with you. The interview is to prove your candidacy. Therefore, it is very important to be ready to answer any question. Whether it is a question about studies or future plans. Thirdly, you must imagine how your life will change after receiving a grant. Your virtues and advantages - no one knows about them like you do. And of course, you should not say that you do not have flaws. After all, no one is perfect. The main thing here is not to forget about the boundaries. What you say can not only help you successfully pass the interview, but also turn against you.

Well, the most important thing is your goal. Why are you doing all this, why do you want to study at a certain university? Why do you need a grant and how will it help you and your professional field? Most importantly, you must convince the committee of the seriousness of your candidacy. Why should you win a study abroad grant? The answer should be as simple and clear as possible. In general, this is the whole answer to the question of how students can receive a grant to study abroad. However, grants are different. Many students are drawn far away from European countries. The United States is one of the most civilized countries in the world.

There are several types of study grants in the USA. Let's talk about the most popular of them. If you are interested in studying abroad, the list of scholarships for studying in the USA is presented below.

1. Fellowships

This grant is a kind of research scholarship for the university. It provides not only free education, but also food and lodging.

2.Scholarships

A grant, having received which you can either study at a foreign university for free, or for 5% of the total cost. It depends on the program that the student chooses.

3. Fulbright

This grant is a government scholarship. The program has great benefits. As for education and accommodation, it is absolutely free. However, there are also disadvantages, such as, for example, the fact that it is impossible to work in the United States after studying under this program for three years.

4 Loans

This grant does not provide completely free tuition and accommodation. More precisely, it provides only during the training itself. In other words, the university provides a loan that must be repaid within 10 years after graduation. Some educational institutions do this only with a guarantor. There are also difficulties in that this person must be a resident of the United States for 2 years, at least.

5. Assistantship

This program allows you to study and live in the United States through work. The job may be administrative or teaching. The volume is small, up to 20 hours a week. Often this covers the entire cost, but not always. This is not the whole list of grants in the US, but only the most basic ones. Studying them, many people often ask themselves the question: why do foreign universities provide so many grants to foreign students and is there some kind of catch here? In fact, there is nothing unusual here. Many foreign universities provide grants in order to raise their own rating. In the USA, as in other countries, the following requirements are imposed on foreign students: high academic performance, successful passing of the exam, achievements in various fields, the ability to interest the commission.

How to get a grant for education abroad? Is it worth trying?

Thus, the answer to the question of how to get a grant to study abroad is not so difficult compared to the activity itself, which is to be undertaken.

Many really talented students are hesitant to apply for a grant. According to the experience of Russian students who have already traveled this path, studying abroad is quite realistic. You don't have to be a child prodigy to become a student abroad.

Foreign and Russian public and commercial organizations, educational institutions, state governments, international organizations and citizens provide grants (free transfer of funds) for education on the terms provided by the grantors.

Depending on the conditions, grants cover the full or partial cost of studying abroad; expenses related to accommodation, meals, visas and air travel. They receive grants on a competitive basis.

To receive a grant to study abroad, we recommend that you follow the following algorithm.

Step 1. Determine the specialty and country of study

The applicant must have a good understanding of the chosen specialty, the subject of the thesis and (or) the course of scientific research of the problem in this field of knowledge.

The choice of the country in which it is planned to study depends on the specialty. It is necessary to take into account the language conditions of the country of study. Some educational institutions offer education in English. To confirm knowledge of a foreign language, you can pass an international exam and receive an appropriate certificate.

Step 2: Select a grant provider

Grantors can be conditionally divided into public and private. Government donors offer grants to various educational institutions, but within their own country, while private organizations and foundations are not limited to a specific country.

Step 3. Choose a grant, read its terms carefully

When choosing a grant, it is important to compare your possibilities in advance with the conditions declared by the organizers. Grant conditions vary. So, in particular, the main criterion for issuing a grant may be academic performance or, for example, a difficult financial situation that does not allow the applicant to pay for education on his own.

Each grant has specific deadlines and deadlines for accepting applications from applicants.

Step 4. Prepare documents, apply for a grant and go through the stages of the competition

The standard set of documents includes:

Application form in the form of organization;

Certified copies of the school certificate and grade book, translated into a foreign language;

International certificate confirming knowledge of the language;

Certificates or diplomas confirming achievements, merit and academic success;

An essay in which it is necessary to substantiate the motives and goals for obtaining a grant.

The specified list of documents is not exhaustive and can be expanded in accordance with the requirements of the organization issuing the grant.

An application form for participation in a grant is submitted before admission to the selected educational institution. The application is submitted either on purpose, if the representative office of the organization is open in the Russian Federation, or by mail.

Note. Before submitting documents, we recommend that you consult with the specialists of the organization.

Note!

As a general rule, grant applications submitted without a complete set of documents and/or submitted after the deadline for applications will not be considered.

The competition for a grant may include several stages. So, after considering the application, the grantor can offer the applicant a number of additional tasks, for example, to pass an interview in a foreign language.

Step 5. Pass exams in an educational institution

If the grantmaker is not the educational institution itself, then the applicant may be required to pass entrance exams. In case of failure in the entrance exams, the grant is withdrawn or may be granted the next year.

If you do not have the time or desire to study all the universities and organizations that provide grants, you can turn to the services of an intermediary - most often a travel company that will help you make a choice and collect the necessary documents for a fee.

Note!

According to the general rules, it is necessary to pay personal income tax on received grants for studying abroad, unless the source of such grants is organizations listed in the relevant lists approved by the Government of the Russian Federation (paragraph 6 of Art. 217Tax Code of the Russian Federation).
