Chernobyl. It can't be forgotten

There are still events on earth that completely turn people's lives upside down. It is to the number of such terrible tragedies that the Chernobyl disaster belongs - an accident, the equal of which cannot be found in recent years. April 26, 1986... This sunny spring day became a tragic date for many Belarusian families, for our entire republic. On the night of April 26, at 1:25 a.m., two explosions followed in the room of the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, followed by a fire. In the first days after the explosions in the 4th power unit, people within a radius of 30 km from the nuclear power plant were forced to leave their homes - over 115 thousand people were subject to evacuation. As a result of an accident at a nuclear power plant, a radioactive cloud formed due to a burning reactor, which fell in the form of precipitation over a vast territory of Europe, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. On the eve of a memorable date - the 33rd anniversary of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - in the college library with students of the 2nd year of group No. 11, a warning lesson “Chernobyl. It cannot be forgotten." The event was opened by the head of the library I.A. Makarenko. She told the students about the events that led to the accident, the scale of the disaster, and the work to eliminate radiation contamination at the accident site. Librarian E.Yu. Radkova told the students about the courage of the people who were the first to bear the brunt of the accident, their readiness for self-sacrifice. And 33 years later, this day makes us think about the possible consequences of human activity, about our unrequited debt to those who, risking their own lives, saved the world from a radioactive catastrophe. N.D. was invited to the event. Dorohova, head of the health center, who informed the students about the radioecological situation, how to reduce the effect of radionuclides on the human body, how to eat properly in conditions of radiation risk, what are the ways to remove radioactive substances from the body, etc. The exhibition-reflection "Echo of Chernobyl" was timed to coincide with the event, and the video "Chernobyl - Black Pain" was shown to students. Years and decades will pass, and the black day of this tragedy will still excite people - both those whom he did not bypass, and those who were born far from that place. This day will always unite all living with one memory, one sadness, one hope. The Chernobyl accident is a cruel lesson! God bless us with such lessons! God forbid us such eras! The younger generation should learn from the mistakes that people have made and protect their children, themselves and their descendants from such troubles.

I. A. Makarenko, head of the library of the EE “MGPALTK im. K.P. Orlovsky"

Transfer of the remains of a Red Army soldier

On April 16, 2019, the remains of the Red Army soldier Ivan Vasilyevich Ruban were transferred to relatives in the K. Simonov Museum of the educational institution.

The transfer of the remains of a soldier who died during the Great Patriotic War was attended by:

Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Muzychenko Ekaterina Anatolyevna;

Head of the direction of ideological work and social protection of the military commissariat of the Mogilev region, Colonel Blashkov Sergey Nikolaevich;

Military Commissar of the city of Mogilev and the Mogilev region, Colonel Vladimir Vladimirovich Belyus;

Head of the Mogilev regional search club "Vikkru" Nikolay Sergeevich Borisenko;

Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus, Major-General Aleksey Fridrichovich Bakumenko;

Military attache of the Embassy in the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant Colonel Aleksey Nikolayevich Dizha.

The hero, who had been missing for 77 years, turned out to be 25-year-old scout Ivan Vasilyevich Ruban, a native of the Novgorod-Seversky district of the Chernihiv region. The remains were discovered near the Mogilev-Gomel highway on October 3, 2018 by soldiers of the 52nd search specialized battalion of the Ministry of Defense, along with the Mogilev search engines.

About two weeks, the Red Army soldier Ivan Ruban managed to fight, and, perhaps, this was his first and last battle. The land near the village of Sidorovichi, 50 meters from the highway Mogilev - Gomel, became his last refuge.

Here, at the site of the battle, fellow soldiers buried their comrade-in-arms. Departing from the advancing tank hordes of the enemy, they left the heroically dead scout in the forest in an unmarked grave at a depth of 50 cm, where he lay until today.

Thanks to the head of the Chernihiv group of the Union of Search Teams of Ukraine, Vasily Zhurakhov, relatives of the Ukrainian Ivan Ruban, who died on Mogilev land, have been identified.

Before the war, he managed to create a family with three children. Of these, the son Anatoly has already died, the eldest daughter Nina lives in Penza, and the youngest Galina, born in 1941, now lives at her father's place of conscription in the Novgorod-Seversky district of the Chernihiv region.

Galina Ivanovna told the search engines that her father Ivan Vasilyevich, as he went to war in July 1941, had sunk into oblivion - all these 77 years he was missing. There was no information about him in the family. Now she and sister Nina are asking to transfer the remains of their father to their homeland in order to bury him next to his relatives.

The activity of the college began on November 20, 1944 as vocational school No. 1. The first building of the college is an ordinary peasant's hut with three rooms. Today, these are white-stone buildings, where classrooms and workshops, a maintenance center for machines and mechanisms, and a hostel are located. The machine and tractor fleet of the college began with the old KhTZ and NATI, which had one caterpillar. Today it has dozens of cars. College students work out their skills as masters of the land on 860 hectares of land, on a livestock farm, study, grow bread and potatoes. Most of the current machine operators of the Mogilev region are graduates of this educational institution.
In 1998, the school was reorganized into the Higher Vocational and Agrotechnical School, which, after 2 years, began training specialists with secondary specialized education in the specialty "Agricultural Mechanization".
Despite the difficulties, the educational and production base of the school is being strengthened from year to year. Today, the educational institution has 26 tractors (14 caterpillar, 12 power-packed), 6 combine harvesters, 40 vehicles and the whole complex of agricultural machines.
College students have at their disposal thousands of copies of books not only on vocational guidance, but also on history and other sciences. Plunging into their world, the guys grow up as worthy citizens of their country. Equally important is physical health. Sport helps to strengthen it. Students have at their disposal an excellent sports complex, in which wrestling, tennis and volleyball and basketball halls, a stadium. The college annually hosts spartakiads in 16 sports. They love art here too. It has its own wonderful club with a luxurious foyer, stage, assembly hall and dressing rooms. Choir, drama, dance, vocal-instrumental, pop - this is a far from complete list of amateur art circles in which the guys are engaged in their free time. Amateur groups of the school give more than 50 concerts annually. But the main thing, of course, is education.
