Considered for enrollment at a higher priority. Master's degree in your field

Enrollment to the budget occurs in the first and second waves. At the first stage, 80% of the total number of free places is filled, at the second - the remaining 20%. How not to get confused in all this and enter the budget? We have prepared a step-by-step guide for you with all the important dates.

Clarify all controversial issues immediately when submitting documents

Step 1. Submit copies of documents

You have the right to immediately in 5 universities, in 3 directions in each. Use this opportunity so you will have a better chance of getting through on a budget. If you have benefits or the right to enter without entrance tests, you can use it only in one educational institution. The original supporting document must be submitted immediately.

Important dates:

 • June 20- start of acceptance of documents;
 • July 7-11- completion of the acceptance of documents if you will pass additional entrance tests of a creative orientation or internal exams instead of the Unified State Examination;
 • 26 July- the last day of submission of documents, if you are applying according to the results of the Unified State Examination.

Step 2: Pass Internal Tests

If needed. Information about which exams and in what form you need to pass can be found on the website or information stand of the university. There will also be a timetable. All tests take place between 11 to 26 July. If exams at several universities fall on the same day, find out about reserve days for passing.

Step 3: Keep track of your lists

July 27 everyone is starting to publish rating lists of applicants. Surnames are listed in descending order of points. The higher your last name, the more likely you are to be accepted. Count the names according to the number of budget places from top to bottom, yours must not be below the threshold line in terms of the number of places. This criterion is especially important in the last days of applying for admission.

Step 4. Submit original documents and enrollment consent

Dates for submitting original documents in 2018:

Submit your originals to the university where you have the best chance of being accepted. Even if your ranking is not as high in all the lists, remember that everything can change. Universities enroll only those who brought originals on time, regardless of points. If there are several people with high scores in front of you who do not bring documents, you automatically move up.

If a August 1 you bring the originals and go through the rating, then August 3rd you will find out if your name is on the order of admission .

If you did not get into the first wave or did not have time to bring the documents on time, you have to submit the originals to the second wave before August 6th Already 8 August there will be orders for the enrollment of applicants who will be enrolled in the remaining budget places.

An application for consent to enrollment must be submitted along with the original documents

At this stage, the race for budget places is over. But you can still get to the paid branch. Some universities offer discounts for applicants with high scores.

It is difficult to get on the budget, but it is possible. Use every chance. Feel free to ask questions to the admissions office if something is not clear. Keep it up, you will succeed!

Probably, here it is worth starting the discussion with the definition of what makes a top university?
From our point of view, the following factors can be taken into account:

1. The teaching staff of the graduating department in the field of study you are interested in.

Who are these people? What is their area of scientific interest? What sciences do they have? It is desirable that they be active practitioners (as an example, the Faculty of Physical Education at the Higher School of Economics, where Yandex employees teach). Here you will not only be trained by your future employers, but you also have a good chance to prove yourself for further employment.

2. Good curriculum.

Ideally, it should be revised every year to take into account the latest trends in all areas of public life. Compare the curricula of different universities to get an idea of what you will be doing in the next 4-5 years.
Are there any elective courses in this plan? Does this choice really exist? Or is it at the discretion of the university?

3. The presence of international relations.

How much is the university valued on the world stage? Does it have "weight" among other universities of a similar profile from other countries? Do foreign citizens enter it? Does this university have connections with foreign ones for internships and double degree programs? (If so, what is it like? Is it a "filkin's letter" for a decent amount of money, or is it an opportunity to go to a foreign university "to gain experience"?)

4. Availability of targeted reception.

Target admission allows you to get a budget place in a university with relatively small scores. How does this happen? Even before admission, you conclude a contract with an organization that is ready to pay for your education. Under this contract, you will enter the university as part of the targeted admission (even before the start of the waves). And even before you act, you can refuse it. Did you suddenly change your mind?
In return, after graduation, you are guaranteed a job in this company.

5. Master's degree in your field.

If you are applying for a bachelor's degree, then be sure to keep it in mind, as employers are more likely to take a master's degree.
At the same time, it often happens that a bachelor's degree goes without a training profile, but in a master's program you can choose an interesting profile for you from the available ones. By the way, you can go to the master's program in absolutely any area of training, but it is better, of course, to deepen your knowledge in the existing field.

However, back to our question. Naturally, there is no unified recipe by which we could say for sure that it is necessary to act only on the budget at any cost. This is not true.

But, as a rule, universities with higher rates have advantages according to the listed criteria.

To answer this question, we advise you to consider not the university as a whole, and the direction of training you have chosen is in it. Assess how well the graduating department is teaching. It would not be superfluous to ask students how they themselves assess the quality of the education they receive.

Do the above points apply specifically to your field of study? After all, it may happen that a university has a clearly expressed one direction (where these factors are well implemented), but the direction you are interested in cannot boast of this. A less well-known university, on the contrary, meets your needs.

Therefore, it is worthwhile to analyze well what exactly this university will give you? Will it become a starting point for getting a highly paid position? Or will you not find a job with this diploma? You can use the site https://university.linkedin.com/ to see which companies employ people who graduated from a particular university.

Also, do not forget that top universities have a system of discounts. It can be from the exam points scored (if you didn’t have 2-5 points to the budget, then the university can make a discount). Or for good motivation in your studies, he is again able to reward you with a reduction in the cost of education.

One of the benefits of learning today is the availability of education. With the help of services such as Coursera or Stepic, you can take courses not only from the best universities in Russia, but also in the world. So, if you feel that the university of your choice does not provide sufficient knowledge, you can make up for it with the help of online educational platforms.

Nevertheless, the choice is always yours, and if you want to consult in more detail on the issue of admission, we are waiting for you in our group.

What is the order of admission to the university, and what does it depend on? The answer to this question was not as obvious as it might seem at first glance. The fact is that, for unknown reasons, many educational institutions, as it turned out, do not really bother themselves with detailed details of the enrollment sequence, limiting themselves only to its brief summary. But, for future applicants, this is not unimportant, and if the relevant information is difficult to find, then how to understand what is what? We tried to fill in the gaps and compiled a generalized model of the sequence of enrollment in universities. It looks like this. The following have the highest priority when enrolling in a university: 1.

Enrollment in a university - 2015. what does the priority number mean when submitting documents?

About the priorities of enrolling in a university

How to prioritize an applicant How to properly prioritize an applicant when choosing a strategy for entering a Ukrainian university according to the new rules of 2014-2015? This question in the near future will torment all school graduates and their parents, who will need to advise something to their children.
To begin with, let's explain for the ignorant what we are talking about. The Ministry of Education of Ukraine has published new admission rules, which say that an applicant can submit their documents to five educational institutions in three directions.
There are 15 options in total. But, in order to simplify the enrollment procedure, each applicant is invited to indicate the priority of the university and the direction in which he would like to study in the first place in case of successful completion of an external independent assessment.

Priorities are indicated when applying and cannot change as the introductory campaign passes.

We go to university. tactics and strategy of actions of applicants and their parents

Documents were submitted by 100 applicants, their ranked list is on the institute's website.

Until August 1, 12 applicants brought original documents and consent to enrollment: No. 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 55, 79, 95, 96, 97, 99 and 100 (numbers from the ranked list).

Since the university is obliged to fill 80% of the competitive places in the first wave, applicants No. 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 55, 79, 95 will be enrolled.
Yes, yes, and No. 95 was also taken. Situation No. 2 Applicants No. 7, 12 and 95 changed their minds about entering the faculty of chain-link mesh.
Applicant No. 12 brought an application for revocation of documents on July 30 at five o'clock in the evening.
Since the selection committee worked only until six, they returned the documents to him on July 31 at 10 am, after which he managed to take the train and take his documents to MGIMO, where he also went through the competition. Applicant No. 95, as we remember, was on the enrollment list, but on the morning of August 2 he changed his mind and came to pick up the documents.

USE;5. if the sum of points for the USE is equal, applicants who have a priority right to enroll; 6.

in the presence (absence) of preferential rights, applicants with a higher score in the profile subject.

In case of equality of scores in the profile subject, the further sequence of enrollment is established by the university itself and, within the framework of the analysis, is as follows: 7.

applicants who have become winners and prize-winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren (upon admission to specialties corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad and the presence of relevant documents in his personal file); 8. applicants who have become winners and prize-winners of Olympiads that are NOT included in the approved list, organized by the university itself (when entering specialties corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad and the presence of relevant documents in his personal file); 9.

This category includes - members of the national teams of the Russian Federation that participated in international Olympiads in general education subjects; winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren; winners and prize-winners of Olympiads for schoolchildren included in the approved list for the current academic year, if, by decision of the university, they will be given the right to be enrolled without entrance examinations in areas of training corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad. They are followed by: 2. applicants who have the right to out-of-competition admission (orphans and children left without parental care; persons from among orphans and children left without parental care; disabled children, disabled people of groups I and II, as well as other categories of citizens who have this right given in accordance with applicable law); 3.

First second third priority for admission to a university

But it turned out that applicants No. 22, 58, 59, 60, seeing that they enrolled those whose USE results were much worse, decided to take a chance and also brought the original documents and consent to enroll! Since there were three free places left at the faculty (2 places - 20% of the admission plan, and a place vacated after applicant No. 7), applicants No. 22, 58, 59 were accepted there.

So, as a result, applicants No. 1, 2, 5, 9, 22, 55, 58, 59, 79, 96 will study at the chain-link mesh faculty.

Applicants #60 and #95 may try their luck next year, although much less able applicants #79 and 96 have already become students.

That's it! The most popular questions of parents of applicants - Can a child write a statement of consent along with an application for admission? - Maybe, especially if you submitted the original documents on education, but only one application for consent to enrollment can be submitted to the university.

The decision on ranking (drawing up the order) of priorities is made personally by the applicant and is confirmed by a personal signature in the application when submitting documents. 6. Based on the analysis of the competitive situation, the applicant has the right to change both the areas of training / specialty (priorities) and the ranks of priorities.

At the same time, the completion of the change or addition of priorities ends no later than July 29 (before the issuance of the first order on enrollment of applicants applying for target places, and applicants with special rights upon admission).

Changing priorities by phone, e-mail or through parents (legal representatives) is not allowed.

The change of priority is carried out only on the basis of a receipt for the acceptance of documents issued by the Admissions Committee of the University, and an identity card.
Zhanna Evgenievna, actually on yours If you decide to pick up the documents before the enrollment of the first wave (August 3), they will be returned to you immediately.

If you decide to pick them up after August 3 in order to be enrolled in another university on August 6, then the speed of issuing documents at the first university depends on the goodwill of the administration of this university.

Perhaps they will hold your documents, and you will have to go to the rector (and there were cases that even to the prosecutor's office) to return them.

Time, of course, will already be lost, because you have only two days to submit documents in the second wave.

The decision whether to apply to the first university or not is yours. I don’t know which university we’re talking about, so I can’t imagine whether you will be hindered in returning documents after the order for enrollment is issued, my personal experience is that there were no such obstacles at NSU. Zhanna Evgenievna (Guest) (21/07/2016) burya, thank you.
Secondly, do not forget about such an important thing as additional points for individual achievements! The admission committee can add up to 10 points for sports and scientific achievements, as well as for participation in volunteer activities - carefully study this section on the university website, the requirements of educational institutions differ. Another ten extra points can be earned for an essay - the same one that was written in the winter for admission to the exam. Especially often they are interested in the commissions of humanitarian faculties, some are even ready to extract them from the database and re-evaluate them on their own according to a 10-point system.

So don't forget to indicate that you wrote the essay! Applicant calendar: don't miss the moment! The key dates of admission to the university are very important.

We would like to note that if a child has passed the Unified State Examination and will not pass entrance tests and creative competitions, then you have not missed anything yet.
At the same time, for each direction of training (specialty), the applicant has the right to apply for different forms of education and for different foundations of education. Thus, the maximum possible number of priorities when applying to the University is 12. Priorities are ranked by the applicant in order from the most significant to the least significant. 4. When ranking priorities, the following logic must be observed: first, priorities are ranked on the budgetary basis of full-time and part-time education, then - on the commercial basis of full-time and part-time education. 5. The determination of priorities takes place either independently or in the process of consultations with representatives of the University Admissions Committee based on personal and professional preferences and the results of entrance examinations (USE) or the intention to participate in those in the presence of this right (Rules for admission of SamSU in the 2015/2016 academic year) .

Applicants in 2017

Created: 03 .07 .2016 Updated: 05 .07 .2017

The 2017 admission campaign has begun. It's hot outside, it's also hot in the educational building of the Mekhmat on Milchakov Street, which has turned into the building of the Central Admission Committee of the Southern Federal University. The first week of July is traditionally the week of the longest queues. Applicants and their parents are worried, bombarding information desks with questions, dropping in for a consultation at the dean's office. And, as always, ask questions on our website. Many questions are traditional, annual, the answers to them have already been published many times. To the great relief of the admissions committee, this year the admission rules have not changed much, so most of the questions have already been answered since last year. But there are also small "new items".
By tradition, here is a general summary of answers to the most common of these questions. Recommended reading for all applicants and their parents!

How many applicants will be enrolled in Mekhmat in the first wave? With what score? How do I know if I will be enrolled?

It is not yet possible to answer this question. And although the number of enrollments on August 3 (in the first wave) is determined by the exact formula, there are a number of circumstances that make forecasts difficult. The formula, at first glance, is simple: in the first wave, we have the right to enroll up to 80 percent of the number of budget places. What are the difficulties here?
Firstly, 80% will not be calculated from the total number of places, but from the remaining number by the date of enrollment. For example, if 10 beneficiaries and target recipients are enrolled in Applied Mathematics and Informatics with a budget of 130 people on July 29, then on the evening of August 1 (the last day for submitting originals and signing applications for consent to enrollment), we will be able to fill 80% of the 120 remaining places, i.e. submit 96 applicants for enrollment.
Secondly, only applicants who brought us the original certificates and wrote their consent to enrollment can be enrolled. And if in the previous example there are only 70 such applicants, then they will all be enrolled. In this case, by the way, the score of the latter will not play any role at all: anyone can enter, as long as he brings the original and writes consent.

This is where the difficulties end. Those who brought the originals, but still were not enrolled in the first wave, have two options to choose from: wait for the end of enrollment in the chosen field of study (this process is called “waiting for the second wave”) or try to enroll in another by writing a new consent .

Why do I need "consent to enrollment"? After all, we have already applied for the Mekhmat and we want to study here!

A statement of consent to enrollment is a feature of the admissions campaign, which first appeared last year, apparently as a reaction to complaints from applicants who were enrolled automatically, “without demand”, in one of the three specified specialties where they passed. Now automatism has been abandoned. Only those applicants who brought the original and wrote a statement of consent to be enrolled will be enrolled - both in the first and in the second wave.

Pay attention to one important feature of the Admission Rules: such a statement can be written no more than two times! The first time when you indicate your real priority, and the second - if you fail to enroll in a priority area of training, and you agree to one of the two remaining options.

Nothing will happen automatically: only those applicants who brought the originals and wrote their consent to be enrolled in this area of training will be enrolled.

The answer to this question is negative. You can choose the direction of training only twice: the first time, when the applicant brings the original document of education, and the second time - it does not matter, in the first wave or the second - when the applicant saw that he could not get into the priority specialty, but to one of the two mentioned earlier in the statement - completely.

"Applied Informatics" - is it also the direction of the preparation of the Mekhmat?

No. No. Not!
This question has to be answered quite regularly, starting from last year, when this area of training left the Faculty of Economics. But not to Mekhmat, but to the Faculty of High Technologies! Our direction is "Applied Mathematics and Informatics". It may sound similar, but the result is completely different.
I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that the direction "Applied Informatics" can be very popular among applicants of the Faculty of High Technologies, so it is highly not recommended to use it as a "third", "for safety net". You can be left with nothing.

In accordance with the Admission Rules, documents must be returned within two hours. And unlike other Rostov universities, the real term is even shorter: we try not to detain those who do not want to study with us. But as for the “return”, it is possible, but the deadlines for such “comebacks” are very tight: you will have only two days for all the throwing, August 6 is the last day for receiving originals for the second wave.

Only the names of applicants enrolled in the first wave will be removed from the lists. In a real situation, the work lists of the dean's office, which we will begin to publish after July 26, will help to figure it out.

My child received a call from the dean's office of your faculty, they said that his scores are enough for admission and asked to bring the original documents. Can you trust the call? And don't we have the right to bring a certificate before August 1?

1) First of all, if you don't bringoriginal, then exactly do not enter.
2) On August 1 - on the last day of submitting originals - one or two applicants per hundred must have some kind of emergency. And this is known in the dean's office firsthand, but from the applicants themselves or their relatives, either stuck on the highway in a broken car, or calling from the police station, where they write a statement about the theft of a bag with money and documents, etc. (This text was first published in 2011. During this time, the number of "August situations" has only grown. In 2014, for example, three applicants had problems with delivering the original on the last day, in 2015 and 2016 - two. People do not want learn from others' mistakes...

By the way, if you decide to “save” the original in another university, since you are already sure of entering there, and Mekhmat seems like a dream for now, then it is quite likely that when the picture clears up in early August, and you understand that you are definitely coming to us , this original from another university simply cannot be “rescued”. And this is not a stone in the garden of DSTU at all, a similar tendency to drag out with the return of the originals is also characteristic of other Rostov universities (although RSSU is now also DSTU ...). In contrast to the Mekhmat, where after July 26 it will be possible to take documents back in a maximum of an hour (and if you try not to get on a lunch break, then in 10 minutes).

How will entrance examinations be held at the Mekhmat (I am an applicant from the Crimea)? Will I have to take all 3 exams or just the core subject? Where can I see the topics on which the exam will be based? And will places be provided in hostels for the duration of the exams?

In accordance with the admission rules of this year, two categories of applicants can enter based on the results of entrance examinations conducted by the Southern Federal University: college graduates and schoolchildren who received a certificate in 2017 in Crimean schools. The total number of these exams is three, in the same subjects as for the rest of the applicants, and with the same threshold scores.

The schedule of all these exams is here: http://sfedu.ru/www/stat_pages22 .show?p=ABT/N8 2 1 1 /P
Exam programs are published on the SFedU website, demos are available in the section Entrance Test Programs on our website.
About the hostel: yes, applicants from other cities can get a place there for the period of submission of documents or during the entrance exams. Details here: http://sfedu.ru/www/stat_pages2 2 .s how?p=ABT/N1 2 1 7 7 /P

Applying for the "Applied Mathematics and Informatics", we found out that there are two bachelor's programs - applied and academic. What's the Difference? And how many seats for each?

This year, an experiment is being conducted at the Southern Federal University: twenty-five students of the “Applied Mathematics and Informatics” direction will not study at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, but at the Faculty of Management, where they will try to implement a profile related to the organizational and managerial activities of graduates. In accordance with the federal educational standard, this means the readiness of a graduate to solve the following tasks: development and implementation of quality management processes for production activities related to the creation and use of information systems; observance of the code of professional ethics; planning processes and resources for solving problems in the field of applied mathematics and informatics; development of methods and mechanisms for monitoring and assessing the quality of production processes related to the creation and use of information systems. It is this group that will belong to the Applied Baccalaureate category.
Classes for students of the Mechanics and Mathematics (130 budget places) will be organized according to the traditional academic bachelor's program, focused on research, design, production and technological activities.

How is the minimum passing score different from the passing score?

First, about the minimum scores. In all universities of Russia, the level of entrance exams differs from the threshold of the school deuce set by Rosobrnadzor. The Southern Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia, here this bar is set quite high. This year, the minimum scores at our institute have not changed compared to last year: for mathematical and computer areas of preparation of the Mekhmat can't do, if the USE scores in mathematics and computer science are less than 55, and in the Russian language are less than 50. For the pedagogical direction of training, the minimum scores are their own: social science - 60, Russian language - 55, mathematics - 50. This applies to all forms of education: daytime, evening, budgetary and commercial. Once again: if the USE scores scored by the applicant are less than the minimum, they simply will not accept documents.

The minimum score ensures participation in the competition, but does not guarantee victory in it. A passing score is responsible for the victory - a score that allows you to enter a university. Every year it is determined anew, at the time of preparation of the order for enrollment of the second wave, i.e. August 7.

Traditionally - the most popular question. But the answer, I'm afraid, will turn out to be unpopular: we will find out the exact value of this amount for each of the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat only on August 7 (the official order will appear even on the eighth).

If we talk not about the exact value, but about forecasts, then I will venture to make the following three assumptions:
1) FIIT - 230 points should be enough,
2) Pedagogical education - 215 points should be enough,
3) taking into account the next increase compared to last year in the number of places in "Applied Mathematics and Informatics", everyone who overcomes the barrier of minimum scores of the SFedU will be able to enter the rest of the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat.

I like this question much more than the previous one, because the answer can be given very precisely. Everyone can draw their own conclusions based on this answer. Results of 2016:
219 , passing - 173
197 , minimum - 165
250 , minimum - 232
Pedagogical Education (Mathematics): GPA - 217 , minimum - 212

By the link http://sfedu.ru/0 0 _main_2 0 1 0 /abitur /abit_2 0 1 7 /TARGET/KZP_2 0 1 7 .pdf you can see that the number of commercial places is limited. Is it so? Does this mean that there will also be competition for commercial places?

The above answer to this question is outdated pretty quickly. Like the question itself. Since July 5, the lists on the SFedU website have become ranked - they show how many USE scores other applicants have.
Important: If it seemed to you that there are too many applicants ahead - do not worry! In fact, for the time being, only those who are marked with a “tick” in the list are really in front of you: they have already brought the original documents and wrote their consent to be enrolled in this particular specialty
And do not worry if you passed the exam perfectly, and you have zeros in the table: not all applicants have yet been verified with the USE scores in the all-Russian database.

Correctly means this:

 1. Please pay special attention to this item! As of July 3, 2017, a third of Mekhmat applicants applied exclusively for the top specialties of the SFU. Self-confidence is good, but still ...
 2. Immediately indicate the priority area of training, exactly the one that you most want to enroll in. If necessary, you can change the priority after July 26 - depending on the competitive situation, but first designate for yourself (and for the selection committee of the Mekhmat) your real priority.
 • Insurance 3 . Apply for contract training. It is for the direction of training where your child wants to learn the most. There is no need to pay or sign a contract. Of course, this year's Admission Rules allow you to resolve the issue of contract training immediately: this application can be submitted until August 15th. But it's better to make sure in advance.

And the last thing: according to my forecasts, this year's applicants entering the "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" should not worry too much: we will take everyone!

The certificate with honors is included in the list of individual achievements of the applicant: this year it gives 4 additional points to the sum of USE points.

Applicants in 2015

Created: 06 .07 .2015 Updated: 09.07.2015

The admission campaign of 2015 is in full swing: it was very crowded in the Mekhmat building all week. Applicants and their parents are worried, bombarding our information desk with questions, dropping in for a consultation at the dean's office. And, as always, ask questions on our website. And although many questions are traditional, repeated from year to year, we decided to give here a summary of new answers to the most common ones. A lot has changed in the 2015 Admission Rules, so this will not be a simple copy of the 2014 Answers.

It is currently impossible to answer this question with certainty. The fact is that the number of enrolled is determined not only formula, but also some algorithm, which will be applied to the lists of applicants on August 3, after the acceptance of original documents ends.
The formula, at first glance, is simple: in the first wave, we have the right to enroll up to 80 percent of the number of budget places. What are the difficulties here?
Firstly, 80% will not be calculated from the total number of places, but from the remaining number by the date of enrollment. For example, if 10 beneficiaries and target recipients are enrolled in Applied Mathematics with a budget of 100 people on July 30, then on August 3 we will be able to fill 80% of the 90 remaining places, i.e. enroll 72 applicants.
Secondly, only applicants who have brought us the originals of their documents can be enrolled. And if in the previous example there are only 70 such applicants, then we will enroll 70. In this case, by the way, the score of the latter will not play any role at all: anyone can enter, as long as he has the original.
And, finally, the third feature of the current campaign, which can greatly complicate preliminary calculations: an applicant who brought the original, and who has the opportunity to be enrolled in one of his three priority specialties, will be enrolled in it. What does this mean in practical terms? If in our example you are one of the first 72 with originals, then you have nothing to worry about, you will be enrolled in the first wave. But if you are the 73rd? Then you need to carefully study the list and figure out if everyone in front of you has chosen Applied Mathematics as a priority? If yes, you are out of luck, you will have to wait for the second wave. If not, you need to look and see where those who have the second or third PM in the list of priorities will be enrolled. If one of them goes to a higher priority specialty, then he will be enrolled there, and his place will be vacated here.
I admit honestly, in order to understand how to behave for someone who is not 73rd, but, say, 100th, it will no longer be necessary to manually work with lists, but a serious computer program that, based on information about all applicants, will be able to correctly simulate the situation. We very much hope that after July 25, such a program on the SFedU website will start working and show the chances of each applicant every day.

Do I need to come and rewrite the application for admission (changing the priority specialty to the second), if we see that we do not pass to the first specialty, indicated by us as a priority. Or do we automatically get into the specialty that is listed second?

Yes, this will be exactly the case this year: if you have an original and you have not passed the first priority specialty, then they will try to automatically enroll you in the second one. It turns out - they will enroll, if you don’t go there either - they will try to enroll in the third.

If I don't get into a priority area in the first wave, can I change the priority, enroll in another direction, and then - during the second wave - change the priority back to where I want to go?

Unlike last year, the answer is yes. Only the priority does not need to be changed: in the first wave you will be automatically credited to the place where you went. And then, on the remaining two days, on August 5 and 6, you can, if necessary, refuse to enroll and again participate in the competition for specialties that are more priority for you: you will not be deleted from those lists. But keep in mind, having abandoned some specialty, it is no longer possible to return to it later!

My child has rather high scores and we choose between the Mechanics and Mathematics of the Southern Federal University and St. Petersburg State University. If we leave the original with you and we are enrolled on August 3, will it be possible then to pick up the documents from SFU in order to take them to St. Petersburg and enroll in the second wave there? And if we take them away, but we don’t do it, will it be possible to return them back?

After the order on August 4, the process of returning documents becomes somewhat more complicated. The official deadline is a day, because you need not only to give the documents, but also to prepare and issue an order for expulsion. The real term is less, we try not to detain those who do not want to study with us. But as for the “return”, this is possible only if you go to some other specialty. And the deadlines for such “comebacks” this year are very tight: you will have only two days for all the throwing, August 6 is the last day for receiving originals for the second wave.

How will the lists of applicants change after enrolling in the first wave?

Only the names of applicants enrolled in the first wave will be removed from the lists. In a real situation, the work lists of the dean's office, which we will begin to publish after July 25, will help to figure it out.

SFedU is again "ahead of the rest" - your passing scores are the highest. Didn't last year's experience of shortfalls teach you anything and you don't need normal applicants?

In all universities of Russia, the level of entrance exams differs from the threshold of the school deuce set by Rosobrnadzor. The Southern Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia, here this bar is set quite high. This year, the minimum scores at our institute have not changed: for the mathematical and computer areas of preparation of the Mekhmat can't do, if the USE scores in mathematics and computer science are less than 55, and in the Russian language are less than 50. For the pedagogical direction of training, the minimum scores are their own: social science - 60, Russian language - 55, mathematics - 45. This applies to all forms of education: daytime, evening, budgetary and commercial.

My child received a call from the dean's office of your faculty, they said that his scores are enough for admission and asked to bring the original documents. Can you trust the call? And don't we have the right to bring a certificate before August 3?

If you received a call from the dean's office, then the information is fair. As for the original, of course, its presence or absence now does not affect admission in any way: the position of the applicant in the final list depends only on the amount of points, and not on the date of submission of the original.
Nevertheless, speaking formally, the original brought in advance slightly increases the chances of admission for completely informal reasons:
1) First of all, if you don't bringoriginal, then exactly do not enter.
2) On August 3 - on the last day of submitting originals - one or two applicants per hundred must have some kind of emergency. And this is known in the dean's office firsthand, but from the applicants themselves or their relatives, either stuck on the highway in a broken car, or calling from the police station, where they write a statement about the theft of a bag with money and documents, etc. (This text was first published in 2011. During this time, the number of “August situations” has only grown. In 2014, for example, three applicants had problems with delivering the original on the last day. People do not want to learn from the mistakes of others ...)
3) With those applicants who brought the originals, the dean's office works much more carefully. If the situation with their position on the list is ambiguous, they will definitely be called (perhaps more than once), consulted, and helped to make the right decision, which will allow them to be at the faculty.
In addition, I repeat once again that this year's admission rules oblige 80% of the vacant places to be enrolled in the first wave, if there are applicants with originals. Therefore, waiting for the second wave with the original in hand can lead to your place being taken by a person with lower scores.
So I recommend not to hide the originals under the pillow, but to bring them to us.
By the way, if you decide to “save” the original in another university, since you are already sure of entering there, and Mekhmat seems like a dream for now, then it is quite likely that when the picture clears up in early August, and you understand that you are definitely coming to us , this original from another university simply cannot be “rescued”. And this is not at all a stone in the garden of DSTU, such a tendency to drag out with the return of the originals is characteristic of very many Rostov universities. In contrast to the Mekhmat, where after July 26 it will be possible to take documents back in a maximum of an hour (and if you try not to get on a lunch break, then in 10 minutes).

Crimean applicants are indeed allocated target places, only their number is so insignificant that there is simply no reason to worry. In the case of the mekhmat, this is one place in each direction of training, a total of five places. Ukrainian applicants enter as compatriots, they must pass the same three exams and participate in the general competition. If a special quota is allocated for them, then these will be additional places that do not affect the competition among Russian applicants. In addition, information about the "influx" is also exaggerated, in any case, about ten such applicants have so far submitted applications for the Mekhmat.

How many USE scores do you need to score this year in order to count on a budget place?

Traditionally - the most popular question. But the answer, I'm afraid, will turn out to be unpopular: we will find out the exact value of this amount for each of the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat only on August 7th. And not a day earlier: these are the admission rules now.

If we talk not about the exact value, but about the forecasts, then they are as follows: the amount of 225 points will allow you to enter any direction of the Mekhmat, the amount of 180 will allow you to enter the Mekhmat. Once again, I emphasize that these are only forecasts.

I would like to know what was the passing score last year for the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat?

I like this question much more than the previous one, because the answer can be given very precisely. Everyone can draw their own conclusions based on this answer. Results of 2014:
Mathematics: GPA - 223 , minimum - 202 (there are free budget places)
Applied Mathematics and Informatics: GPA - 222 , minimum - 186 (there are budget places transferred to the Mekhmat from Taganrog)
Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling: GPA - 217 , minimum - 209 (there are free budget places)
Fundamental Informatics and IT : GPA - 234 , minimum - 217
Pedagogical education (mathematics + informatics): average score - 216 , minimum - 185
The score here is the sum of the scores for the three exams.

By the link http://sfedu.ru/0 0 _main_2 0 1 0 /abitur /abit_2 0 1 5 /TARGET/KZP_2 0 1 5 .pdf you can see that the number of commercial places is limited. Is it so? Does this mean that there will also be competition for commercial places?

Formally speaking, this is how it is: we cannot accommodate more commercial students than our classrooms and computer labs can accommodate. In reality, there has never been such a competition at the Mekhmat.

Why are the USE results of applicants not published on the SFedU website? It is very inconvenient to follow the information - the general list, the competition is not clear, you cannot evaluate your chances!

The purpose of the list on the SFU website is to give each applicant the opportunity to check whether he is included in the competition, which is especially important for those who submit documents electronically or by mail. Ranked - sorted by the sum of USE scores - lists will appear on the SFedU website on July 27. Their unofficial, but more informative, version is on the Mekhmat website. I hope that the diagram on the main page of our site gives some idea of the competition for our various areas of training.

The child only wants to enter the Mekhmat (dreams about Applied Mathematics), does not even want to hear about other universities. I doubt that the USE scores scored by him will be enough. What do you advise?

To the parents of those children who have already chosen the Mekhmat for themselves, and to the children themselves, I can only advise one thing: submit the documents correctly. Correctly means this:

 1. Don’t waste your time: the rule of choosing three directions to SFedU is not to apply without giving up anything to your fantasies (“I’ll apply to the Mekhmat, and to the Faculty of Economics, and to the FVT!”), But in order to increase the chances of admission to a decent university. In our case, all applications need to be submitted only to the mekhmat.
 2. When choosing the second direction, you can do it differently: choose from the remaining three what you like best (it is better to do this if the USE score is high enough) or go straight to the safety net: the second (like the third, see below) choose from less popular.
 3. Make sure. If your child's USE score is not absolutely passing, then this must be done. No matter how unpleasant it may sound now, it is better to foresee all possible situations in advance, and then calmly decide which of the not-so-best options is the least worst. So let's create these options:
 • Insurance 1 . As the third area of training, select the one where a smaller competition is expected and, accordingly, a passing score.
 • Insurance 2 . Immediately apply for the evening (part-time) department of the Mekhmat (this year we have only Fundamental Informatics and IT on the budget). Girls need to do this. Boys - depending on the attitude to military service.
 • Insurance 3 . Apply for contract training. It is for the direction of training where your child wants to learn the most. There is no need to pay or sign a contract. Just in accordance with the Admission Rules, if you have not applied for a contract by July 31, then you will no longer be able to enter there. Don't deprive yourself of the option!
What are the benefits of a medal for admission?

This year, the certificate with honors is included in the list of individual achievements of the applicant: it gives 10 additional points to the sum of USE scores.

On the what specialties can you enter the faculty after college (for example, after Rostov College of Communications and Informatics) for budget education?

If you managed to pass the Unified State Exam while studying in college, then you can apply to our faculty (and to any other faculty of the SFedU) based on their results without any problems - at least for budget education, at least for commercial education. If you did not pass the exam, then the possibility of entering our faculty does not depend on the name of the college, but on the specialty in which you have a diploma. You can enter the mekhmat for budgetary education in any area of training, if your specialty belongs, for example, to the group 230000 "Informatics and Computer Engineering" or 090000 "Information Security". Instead of the Unified State Examination, you will have to take exams at the Southern Federal University (this is also testing, only a little bit on other tests, and they check it not in Moscow, but at our university, immediately after the exam). Documents you must submit until July 10 and sign up for these exams at the same time. Exams are the same: mathematics, Russian, computer science.

Applicants in 2013

Created: 26 .05 .2013 Updated: 27.08.2014

On June 20, the 2013 admission campaign began. Schoolchildren have already passed the exam and learned their results. They are getting ready for graduation parties, and they also have time to ask questions through our website. The answers to the most popular of these questions are below.

This year, the university management decided to significantly increase the requirements for incoming applicants. In particular, for all areas of training, minimum USE scores for each subject are set, significantly exceeding the threshold of a school deuce. To our faculty in 2013 can't do if the USE scores in mathematics and computer science are less than 50, and in the Russian language - less than 60. This applies to all forms of education: daytime, evening, budgetary and commercial.
Once again: no matter how high the sum of three USE scores is, if the score in the Russian language is less than sixty, then you will not be able to enter the Mekhmat.

What are the benefits of a medal for admission?
On the what specialties can you enter the faculty after college (for example, after Rostov College of Communications and Informatics) for budget education?

If you managed to pass the Unified State Exam while studying in college, then you can apply to our faculty (and to any other faculty of the SFedU) based on their results without any problems - at least for budget education, at least for commercial education. And not a day earlier: these are the admission rules now. For those who do not believe me, I will gladly ask a counter question: now, at the end of May, you will be able to predict the average score of the Unified State Examination 2013 in mathematics in Russia? Or in the Rostov region? Or guess absolutely exactly your score on the future exam in computer science?

If we talk not about the exact value, but about forecasts, then they are as follows: the amount of 230 points will allow you to enter any direction of the Mekhmat, the amount of 185 will allow you to enter the Mekhmat. Once again, I emphasize that these are only forecasts.

I would like to know what was the passing score last year for the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat?

I like this question much more than the previous one, because the answer can be given very precisely. Everyone can draw their own conclusions based on this answer. Results of 2012:

 • Mathematics: GPA - 204 ,5 , checkpoint - 180
 • Fundamental Informatics and IT : GPA - 244 , checkpoint - 225
 • Applied Mathematics and Informatics: GPA - 228 ,5 , checkpoint - 207
 • Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling: GPA - 209 , checkpoint - 194

The score here is the sum of the scores for the three exams.

The child only wants to enter the Mekhmat (dreams about Applied Mathematics), does not even want to hear about other universities. I doubt that he will score enough points on the exam. What do you advise?

To the parents of those children who have already chosen the Mekhmat for themselves, and to the children themselves, I can only advise one thing: submit the documents correctly. Correctly means this:

 2. Immediately indicate the priority area of training, exactly the one that you most want to enroll in. You can change priorities later, after July 25 - depending on the competitive situation - at least every day. But first, define for yourself (and for the admissions committee) your real priority.
 3. When choosing the second direction, you can do it differently: choose from the remaining three what you like best (it is better to do this if the USE score is high enough) or go straight to the safety net: the second (like the third, see below) choose from less popular.

And by the way, in 90% of cases, the employer is not interested in what kind of training is written in the diploma of our graduate. He just needs graduates of the Mekhmat.

Applicants in 2014

Created: 21 .08 .2014 Updated: 06/21/2015

The 2014 admission campaign has entered a decisive phase. Applicants of preferential categories and applicants entering target places have already been enrolled. The first wave of enrollment is getting closer. Today's update is dedicated to answering questions about this very first wave.

How many applicants will be enrolled in Mekhmat in the first wave? How do I know if I will be enrolled?

It is currently impossible to answer this question with certainty. The fact is that the number of enrolled is determined not formula, and some algorithm, which will be applied to the lists of applicants on August 4, after the acceptance of documents ends. Approximate predictions can be made based on work lists dean's office. You need to start from two factors. First, the quantity. In the first wave, 30-40 applicants will be enrolled at FIIT, from 60 to 80 at PMI. Secondly, the border of the first wave. It will pass around the number 45 on FIIT and around the number 100 on the PMI (column "real number" - but not today's, but the one that will turn out on August 4). On "Mathematics" and "Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling" in the first wave we enroll everyone who brings the original.

If I don't get into a priority area in the first wave, can I change the priority, enroll in another direction, and then - during the second wave - change the priority back to where I want to go?

No you can not. There is a special clause in this year's admission rules: as soon as an applicant is enrolled in the direction he has chosen, he is automatically excluded from the competition from all other directions in SFU.

Do I need to come and rewrite the application for admission (changing the priority specialty to the second), if we see that we do not pass to the first specialty, indicated by us as a priority. Or do we automatically get into the specialty that is listed second?

Yes, it is necessary to come and change the priority.
Nothing happens automatically - they can only enroll in a priority specialty.

My son submitted the original documents for the SFedU Mechanics and Mathematics and was recommended for enrollment in the 1st wave. As I understand it, on August 5 there will be an order for enrollment. The son sent copies of the documents to ITMO. The probability of getting there is the second wave. He plans, if he gets a call from ITMO (this will be after August 5), to pick up documents from SFU and take him to ITMO. Can he pick them up after August 5, if he is in the order for enrolling SFedU and can and in what time frame they need to be returned to SFedU, if he doesn’t enter or changes his mind about going to ITMO.

After the order on August 5, the process of returning documents becomes somewhat more complicated. The official deadline is a day, because you need not only to give the documents, but also to prepare and issue an order for expulsion. The real term is less, we try not to detain those who do not want to study with us.

If you pick up the documents after August 5, then it is no longer possible to return them back: after the order for expulsion of your own free will is issued, it cannot be canceled.

By the way, about ITMO. Last year, one of our applicants entered there just according to your scheme: first he was enrolled in the SFU, then he took the documents and went there for the second wave. He began writing letters “how can I get back” in October. This summer, he came to Rostov to arrange a transfer from ITMO to Mekhmat. So far, not everything is clear with state-funded places, but after ITMO he agrees to study at the Mechanics and Mathematics even on a contract basis.

How will the lists of applicants change after enrolling in the first wave?

The names of those applicants who were recommended for enrollment in the first wave will be removed from the lists, but did not submit originals documents. Judging by the lists on 02.08 for FIIT, these are applicants without originals, having 234 points and above, for PMI - 224 points and above. The cut-off score for Math and Mechanics will be between 210 and 215. I recommend paying special attention to this: when deciding to wait for the second wave in one direction, you need to be sure that you still have a “safety net” in the other.

A table with the minimum number of USE scores has been published on the SFedU website. What does she mean?

In all universities of Russia, the level of entrance exams differs from the threshold of the school deuce set by Rosobrnadzor. The Southern Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia, here this bar is set quite high. To our faculty in 2014 can't do if the USE scores in mathematics and computer science are less than 55, and in the Russian language - less than 50. This applies to all forms of education: daytime, evening, budgetary and commercial.
Once again: no matter how high the sum of three USE scores is, if the score in the Russian language is less than fifty, then you will not be able to enter the Mekhmat.

Rosobrnadzor has significantly reduced the USE scores that give the right to a certificate. Does the Mekhmat plan to lower the threshold scores?

Under the current legislation, the university does not have the right to change the values of the minimum scores established by it.

My child received a call from the dean's office of your faculty, they said that his scores are enough for admission and asked to bring the original documents. Can you trust the call? And don't we have the right to bring a certificate before August 5?

If you received a call from the dean's office, then the information is fair. As for the original, of course, its presence or absence now does not affect admission in any way: the position of the applicant in the final list depends only on the amount of points, and not on the date of submission of the original.
Nevertheless, speaking formally, the original brought in advance slightly increases the chances of admission for completely informal reasons:
1) First of all, if you don't bring original, that's right do not enter.
2) On August 4 - on the last day of submitting originals - one or two applicants per hundred must have some kind of emergency.

So I recommend not to hide the originals under the pillow, but to bring them to us.
By the way, if you decide to “save” the original in another university, since you are already sure of entering there, and Mekhmat seems like a dream for now, then it is quite likely that when the picture clears up in early August and you realize that you are definitely coming to us, this original from another university simply cannot be “rescued”. In contrast to the Mekhmat, where after July 26 it will be possible to take documents back in a maximum of an hour (and if you try not to get on a lunch break, then in 10 minutes).

How will the influx of applicants from the Crimea and Ukraine affect the situation with the admission of Russian students, specifically the SFedU Mechanics and Mathematics?

Both Crimean and Ukrainian applicants enter additional allocated places. The budget reception of the Mekhmat does not change at all. In addition, information about the "influx" is also exaggerated. For example, only 6 applications were submitted for 10 additional places allocated to the mekhmat for Crimeans.

What are the rules for admission to Mekhmat residents of Ukraine?

The same as in SFU as a whole. This is the so-called “quota admission of foreign citizens and stateless persons”. Residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as other regions of Ukraine, up to August 10 you need to have time to personally submit documents (passport, document of education, copies of parents' passports, 6 photos 3 x4) to the selection committee. The order to enroll this category of citizens based on the results of the entrance test will be August 20th.

How many USE scores do you need to score this year in order to count on a budget place?

Traditionally - the most popular question. But the answer, I'm afraid, will turn out to be unpopular: we will find out the exact value of this amount for each of the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat only on August 10th. And not a day earlier: these are the admission rules now.

I would like to know what was the passing score last year for the areas of preparation of the Mekhmat?

I like this question much more than the previous one, because the answer can be given very precisely. Everyone can draw their own conclusions based on this answer. Results of 2013:

 • Mathematics: GPA - 203 , minimum - 183
 • Fundamental Informatics and IT : GPA - 246 , minimum - 214
 • Applied Mathematics and Informatics: GPA - 232 , minimum - 183
 • Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling: GPA - 202 , minimum - 188

The score here is the sum of the scores for the three exams.

Why are the USE results of applicants not published on the SFedU website? It is very inconvenient to follow the information - the general list, the competition is not clear, you cannot evaluate your chances!

In our case, all applications need to be submitted only to the mekhmat. Please pay special attention to this item! As of July 8, 2014, the number of Mekhmat applicants with a not very high USE score who applied exclusively for the top specialties of SFU is more than twenty-five people!
 2. Immediately indicate the priority area of training, exactly the one that you most want to enroll in. You can change priorities later, after July 25 - depending on the competitive situation - at least every day. But first, define for yourself (and for the admissions committee) your real priority.
