The Volsk Military Institute of Material Support trains in-demand specialists in the food and clothing services, fuel service for all types and branches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, various law enforcement agencies, as well as for foreign armies. Story

2000

In the 2000s the branch (institute) trained officers, material support specialists for the Armed Forces, the Navy of the Ministry of Defense, the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Federal Border Service and other power structures of Russia. Training was carried out at several levels: specialists with higher and secondary specialized vocational education, adjuncts, students of refresher courses and improvement courses for military personnel and officers retiring to the reserve. The training center organized in 2011 (for the training of junior specialists) has carried out and continues to carry out today the training of soldiers - junior specialists in the logistics of the Armed Forces of Russia.

1998

By order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation of September 16, 1998 No. 417, the Volsk Higher Military Order of the Red Star School of Logistics named after Lenin Komsomol was renamed into a branch of the Military Academy of Logistics and Transport (Volsky).

1971

1971 was a significant milestone in the history of the development of the Volsk Military School of Logistics. In accordance with the decisions of the Government "On measures for the further improvement of higher education in the country", fundamental qualitative changes were made to the system of training officers of the Soviet Armed Forces. All military schools were reorganized into higher ones for the training of officers with an engineering education. By order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR, directives of the General Staff and the Headquarters of the Logistics of the Armed Forces No. 158/01030, on July 1, 1971, the Volskoye School was transformed into the Higher Military School of Logistics named after the Lenin Red Banner Komsomol with a four-year training period.

1970

The 1970 anniversary year was the last year in the history of the school for the training of officers of the rear services with a secondary three-year education.

1959

In December 1959, by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense, the 1st VVATU was included in the missile forces, and in September 1962 it was transformed into a command and technical school (VVKTU).

1951

In June 1951, by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR, the school was reorganized into the 1st Volsk Military Aviation Technical School for the training of aviation technicians with a two-year training period.

1941

On February 5, 1941, by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR, the school was renamed into the 1st Volsk Military Aviation School of Mechanics, and training of sergeants-mechanics for the operation of aircraft began.

1938

On May 13, 1938, by order of the NPO of the USSR No. 67, the school was renamed the Volsk Military Aviation Technical School (VVATU)

1931

By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR dated June 6, 1931 No. 44, the Volsk United School of Pilots and Aircraft Technicians was reorganized and became known as the 2nd Military School of Aviation Technicians (2nd VSHAT).

1928

By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR No. 308 of May 24, 1928, the selection of command and political staff for the future Volsk United Military School of Pilots and Aircraft Technicians (OVSHLAT, it combined two flight and aviation schools) began. Divisional commander Fyodor Ivanovich ZHAROV was appointed the first head of the revived Volskaya military school. On October 8, 1928, the first classes began at OVSHLAT, and on November 7, 1928, the grand opening of the school took place.

The history of the branch dates back to 1928. Initially, military specialists of various profiles were trained here. In 1964, the school began training specialists for the Logistics of the Armed Forces. In 1971, the school switched to training specialists with a 4-year term of study and became the highest military school for the rear. In 1978, the school was awarded the Order of the Red Star for great merits in the training of officers. Since 1994, the school switched to a 5-year education and, at the same time, to training specialists with a secondary vocational education and a 2-year training period. In 1997, a faculty was formed to train specialists for the Navy, in 2003 - for the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. In August 1998, the school was reorganized into the Volsky branch of the Military Academy of Logistics and Transport. In July 2004, on the basis of the Volsk branch of the Military Academy of Logistics and Transport, the Volsk Higher Military School of Logistics (military institute) was created. In April 2010, the Volsk Higher Military School of Logistics (Military Institute) was reorganized into the Volsk Military Institute of Logistics (branch) of the Federal State Military Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Military Academy of Logistics and Transport named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulev” of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Since 1964, more than 30,000 logistics specialists have been trained.

The names of 39 Heroes of the Soviet Union are associated with the branch, and General Polbin I.S. and Colonel Mykhlik V.I. were awarded this title twice. The pupils of the branch became famous in battles in the skies of Spain, during the rescue of the Chelyuskin crew, on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.

Currently, the branch trains specialists in the food, clothing services, fuel service under the programs of higher professional education (HPE) in the specialty 080225 "Logistic support"(with a term of study - 5 years) and programs of secondary vocational education (SVE) in the specialty 080214 "Operating activities in logistics" for types and branches of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other ministries and departments.

Those who graduate from the branch under HPE programs are awarded the military rank of "lieutenant" and a state diploma in the specialty "Logistic support" (specializations: food and clothing support for troops (forces), provision of troops (forces) with rocket fuel and fuel, joint support of the forces of the fleet, logistics providing service activities), with the qualification "specialist", who graduated from the branch under the programs of secondary vocational education are assigned the military rank of "junior sergeant" and a state diploma is issued in the civilian specialty "Operational activity in logistics", with the qualification "operational logistician".

For the training of specialists in the branch, a modern educational and material base has been created, a team of highly qualified teaching and command staff has been formed, which includes scientists: doctors and candidates of military, technical, economic, physical, mathematical and other sciences.

Educational facilities are: laboratories, operating canteens, storage facilities and warehouses, a bath and laundry plant and other logistics facilities. Here cadets study and practically learn their profession.

During practical training, future specialists bake bread, master the secrets of cooking, canning, food processing and storage, the basics of keeping, fattening and processing domestic animals, master the technology for the production of fabrics, clothing and footwear, etc.

In the process of studying at various courses, cadets study the disciplines: "Economic Theory", "World Economy", "Jurisprudence", "Economic Law", "Accounting", "Fundamentals of Management", "Marketing", "Information Management Technologies", " Economics and management of food (clothing) provision”, “Economics and management of fuel and lubricants”, “Personnel management” and others.

From the first year, all cadets have the opportunity to study in circles of the military-scientific society of cadets, organized in all departments.

Each cadet during training in the branch receives a certificate for the right to drive a car of category "B" and "C".

Education in the branch is organized by semesters. The semester ends with an exam session. At the end of the examination session, cadets are granted leave. After the winter session - 15 days, after the summer session - 30 days. For the period of study, cadets are provided with monetary, food and clothing allowances.

During the second year of study, cadets enter into a contract with the branch command for the period of study and the first five years of service in primary positions after graduation from the branch. From this moment on, cadets are paid increased monetary allowance.

In order to have the necessary sports training, the branch has a modern military sports complex, including: a stadium, a large sports hall, sports halls for wrestling, gymnastics, weightlifting, boxing, volleyball and basketball courts, a mini-football hall, a hockey box, winter and summer swimming pools, shooting galleries, gymnastic towns. There are 10 sports sections at the military sports complex: hand-to-hand combat, athletics and weightlifting, skiing, football, mini-football, volleyball, military triathlon, etc.

Well, if someone has artistic or musical talent, then he can study in the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Molodist", the folk dance ensemble "Youth", the ballroom dance ensembles "Inspiration" and "Firefly", in the cadet choir, club cheerful and resourceful. There is a modern club with an auditorium for 800 seats for organization of recreation, cultural work.
