The International Institute of Economics and Law was established in 1992. To date, branches of the educational institution are open in such cities as Volgograd, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, St. Petersburg. There are about thirty-four regional branches of MIEP in total. About 20 thousand students study in the capital building of the university.
