Social project decorating the school canteen. Reading class

School is one of those places where the first thing to think about is promoting all sorts of innovations. In the end, the world does not stand still and it is becoming more and more difficult to instill in children a love of learning. However, with such innovations - it is quite real!

1. Trampoline

A play area with a trampoline at Vittra Telefonplan in Stockholm, where hyperactive children can have fun, let off steam and actively relax from school.

2. Spirit of freedom

The original design of the open classroom, where there are no walls and the usual arrangement of desks, which created a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

3. Open space

Unusual design of the interior space of the Vittra Telefonplan school in Stockholm, where there are no walls and, accordingly, no classrooms, and different zones are separated using thin partitions and original design.

4. Play furniture

Bright futuristic furniture that students can use as play equipment makes the stay at school more pleasant and interesting.

5. Futuristic cabinets

The bright and modern interior of the lecture classes in the new Kyiv school contributes to the good mood of teachers and students, and does not at all look like the faceless walls of most educational institutions in our country.

6. Sports hall

The modern design of the gym with original wall and floor finishes, the latest sports equipment and a climbing wall will surely appeal to students of all ages and inspire sports achievements.

7. Behind glass

A small gymnasium in Copenhagen, which looks like a glass cube from the outside, but inside is a huge multi-level space without walls, divided into zones and islands using wooden partitions and futuristic structures. Such a freedom-loving design is fully consistent with the policy of the school: here students independently form study groups and temporary classes to conduct scientific research and solve real life problems.

8. Office

A small school in Aiken (USA), the working space of which is divided into many separate rooms, separated from each other by low partitions. Each student has their own computer and an individual study plan. The school administration is confident that such a policy will help prepare children for adulthood, teach them to think and solve problems on their own.

9. Stadium

A huge stadium and playground built right on the roof of an elementary school is a great example of school grounds in Zhejiang Province, China.

10. Library

Panoramic windows, light walls, original shelving, comfortable bright chairs and tables are a great way to introduce students to reading and working with books.

11. Masterpiece of architecture

Unlike most of our schools, the building of the high school in Melbourne attracts attention with its unusual design and bright colors. The school is a whole complex of semicircular buildings with complex geometry and a spacious courtyard inside. According to the designers, bright colors excite the imagination of students, charge with positive and inspire scientific discoveries.

12. School bus

A quirky school bus interior with sofas, tables and chairs where kids can get in the mood for work or relax and chat on the way home.

13. Sports complex

As part of the NY-Krohnborg school in Bergen, the stunning design of the sports complex features a huge basketball field, state-of-the-art sports equipment and a spacious lobby with sofas and tables.

14. Art space

An unconventional school in San Francisco, set up in an old warehouse, with lots of climbing structures, makeshift theater and fortresses, building materials and crafts. School policy - no bans. Students can get dirty, climb, set fire to objects, experiment, take things apart and create new ones. According to the creators, such an educational institution will teach children not to consume, but to create.

15. Class for reading

A North Carolina elementary school has a reading room equipped with exercise bikes instead of regular desks. This solution allows to significantly increase the performance of students, promotes concentration and allows you to use both hemispheres of the brain.

16. Stair design

Stylish design of the reading room in one of the schools in Montreal, with round wooden tables, in the center of which large palm trees grow, and original stumps instead of chairs.

19. Dining room

The school canteen, which looks more like a fashionable restaurant with bright wall designs and large tables, will forever break the stereotype of the dull decoration of the canteen and will definitely appeal to teachers and students.

20. Place to rest

Decorated in soothing colours, with stunning hemispherical hanging chairs instead of boring benches and armchairs, this charming space is the perfect place to unwind between classes.

Continuing the theme and surprise every person.

"Tea Party"
Well, what is a tea party without a samovar? We blind it from a rolled cake, put foil under it for volume. Let's not forget about the legs, neck and faucet. They need to be molded separately, moistened with water and attached to the samovar. For a beautiful composition, we blind a teapot and several cups and saucers. We will stick on buns, curlicues and other goodies and glue on the tablecloth embroidered by Vika's grandmother. It turned out to be a beautiful still life. The work was done by Katya Prudnikova and Lisa Khapina.

"Bread is the head of everything!"
We decided to make a kind of amulet that attracts prosperity and abundance to our school house. Even small children know that bread and rolls are baked from dough. For this composition, Vika's grandmother embroidered a towel for us. We will put “baked” products on it. Among the Slavic peoples, such pictures are not painted, but have the usual color for baking, which is considered especially attractive. Add a jug of milk and a basket of eggs. Many natural materials go well with salt dough. Spikelets of wheat, oats, rye are perfect for this composition.

"Coffee Fish"
The idea was spied on by Dvatai in her excellent work.
When making crafts, decoupage technique was used. Painted with mother-of-pearl acrylic paints. Pasted natural coffee beans. The work was done by Yulia Pozdnyakova.

Menu design.
Completed by Kydyrova Begayym (idea from the pages of the magazine "Collection of Ideas" No. 2, 20098)
Domestic kittens are red with white stripes, there are gray kittens with black stripes. Our kitten is not domestic, but marine! Firstly. It is completely salty. Secondly, its stripes look like a sailor's vest! Add a chef's hat and a fish in the paw. Why not a ship's cook - a cook ?! Let's make letters from the dough. It remains only to attach the menu to the file.

Introduction

Despite the fact that, as the well-known proverb says, “appetite comes with eating”, the decoration of the dining room also contributes to the increase in appetite, the beautiful interior design of the school cafeteria provides a positive emotional mood for students.

Love for a small homeland is important for every person and for the country. It is necessary to remember to protect the national culture in order to pass it on to future generations. 2015 is the year of patriotism in the Komi Republic, so the name and content of the design project bear Komi culture.

In our work, we chose the ancient Komi trade calendar (Lunpas) as the main element of the interior - this is a well-known find of the 1st-2nd millennium AD. It is made in the form of a circle with the image of animals. Therefore, almost all objects of the canteen are rounded (canteen scheme, logo, clock, tables) and contain images of animals (Appendix 1).

When you enter the dining room, it is pleasant when the interior is made in the same style, when it is bright and light, when you are greeted in beautiful and neat overalls - we tried to reflect this in our work. In such a dining room it is convenient and comfortable not only for students, but also for staff.

The theme of the design project is "Lunpas" (calendar).

The goal is to create a design project for a school canteen in the Komi national style.

Tasks:

  • consider the concepts of "interior", "design project";
  • Develop a dining plan.
  • Design a dining room logo;
  • develop a sketch of staff uniforms.
  • study the effect of color on the appetite of schoolchildren.

I. The concept of "interior" and "design - project"

Before starting work on the project, we got acquainted with such concepts as: interior and design - project.

The interior is an architecturally and artistically designed interior space of a room that provides a person with aesthetic perception and favorable living conditions. The interior consists of three components:

  • building envelope: floor, walls, ceiling;
  • subject content (equipment, furniture);
  • functional processes that form both the space and the sensory-psychological atmosphere.

Design (English design) - idea, intent, plan, goal, intention, creative idea, project and drawing, calculation, design; sketch, drawing, pattern, composition.

According to the explanatory and derivational dictionary of T.F. Ephraim interior design is "the architectural and artistic design of the interior of the premises."

Design - project - is an individual project of the interior of the premises with a cumulative study of the interior design of the residential and auxiliary area of the premises. At the same time, a design project is not just a set of ideas and pictures. This is a set of documents including drawings, specifications, 3D renderings and descriptions. That is, design - a project - is the embodiment of the designer's ideas in an understandable form for engineers and builders.

In our work, we tried to complete the design - the project of the school canteen.

5 II. dining room plan

The dining room should be not only cozy and comfortable, but also convenient for children, teachers and staff. It is made in the form of a circle. The plan clearly shows that the dining room is divided into several zones (Appendix 2).

Zone A is a food place for high school students and teachers:

  1. - distribution,
  2. - a table with chairs.

Zone B is a food place for younger students:

3 - a table for younger students.

Zone B - sanitary unit.

Zone G - catering department:

  1. - staff room
  2. - food processing workshops
  3. - kitchen

III. Description of the interior of the dining room

The entire interior of the dining room is supposed to be made of environmentally friendly material.

The side of the distribution is made using the painting of the Komi ornament (Appendix 1).

A colorful canteen logo hangs on the wall, drawing attention. It depicts fruits, vegetables - examples of proper nutrition. The frame of the logo is also made in the form of a fishing calendar (Appendix 3).

Also in the dining room there is a “healthy eating clock”, where you can see not only the time, but also an example of the right breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, and at what time to eat them. For example, for dinner, you can cook fish with vegetables and eat around 18.00 (Appendix 4).

IV. Dining room functionality

In the dining room it is convenient to move around, sit in a circle and chat with each other after dinner. It is also possible to choose different dishes, including national ones (shangi, fruit drink, cherinyan - a fisherman ...).

The tables have built-in touch screens in the form of animals, in which you can view the menu and select your favorite dishes. This information is transferred to the tablet to the head chef of the dining room, who prepares trays with selected dishes. The attendants hand out these lunch trays. After eating, the student can also leave a comment about the dishes on the touch screen.

V. Color in the interior

Color helps organize a space, reveal a structure, emphasize or hide the shape of an object. According to scientific data, colors can affect the mental and emotional state of a person, and even his appetite. For example, blue is considered the most unappetizing color. It is usually used in rooms where it is very hot in order to give the impression of coolness.

The interior of our dining room is made in warm colors.

Orange the color stimulates the appetite, as it is considered a "delicious" color. It is very life-affirming, adds optimism and cheerfulness. In our interior of the dining room, orange tables, sitting at which you want to eat.

The color accent is on the central wall - this is the distribution. Yellow - the color that catches the eye first, even if it is used in small quantities in the interior. Soft shades of yellow give a "sunny" high spirits, conducive to communication. This color promotes the production of gastric juice and increases appetite.

Green The color is associated with nature. It is considered the color of health, gives "confident relaxation" and at the same time helps to focus. Therefore, for the design of our dining room, we use it in greater quantities.

Blue chairs complete the interior.

VI. Musical accompaniment

Musical accompaniment during meals affects the process of assimilation of food. A slow, unhurried meal accompanied by Komi national and classical music promotes the absorption of food, improves appetite and has a positive effect on the secretion of gastric juice. That is why in our project we are going to use quiet and calm music for the background.

VII. Staff overalls

All dining staff are dressed in a special uniform (Appendix 5):

  • Apron
  • Cap
  • Stockings

The uniform style of the interior can be traced in the overalls of the staff: the apron is presented in the form of a figure eight - a rounded shape, the cap - in the form of a cylinder. They have the canteen logo on them. Stockings depicting elements of the Komi ornament. All staff clothing is also presented in warm colors, the same colors as the interior of the dining room. Students also wear an apron while on duty.

VIII. Materials and tools

To work on the project, we chose accessible and simple art materials: watercolor, pencil, felt-tip pen, A4 sheets, eraser.

Tools: brushes, water jar, compasses, ruler.

Equipment: laptop, printer.

Conclusion

We have developed a design project for the school cafeteria in the "Lunpas" theme. For this, we considered the concepts of "interior", "design project"; for the design of the dining room, elements of the national culture of the Komi Republic were used (drevyekomi calendar, Komi ornament); studied the effect of color on the appetite of schoolchildren; developed a sketch of staff uniforms.

In our work, we tried to develop a design project in such a way that it would be convenient and comfortable not only for schoolchildren, but also for staff. For example, a place for rest is allocated for canteen workers.

The interior of the school cafeteria is based on the ancient fishing calendar in the form of a circle, and all objects are presented in a rounded shape. By this we wanted to show love for the small motherland, for the national culture; to acquaint the youngest visitors of the dining room with the culture of the Komi region. Which is very relevant today, since 2015 is the year of patriotism.

This interior can serve not only as a dining room, but also art exhibitions, expositions, school holidays, meetings with interesting people (writers, artists...), various fairs...

We are very pleased with our result. My mother, grandmother, librarian, classmates highly appreciated the work.

The project we are going to tell you about is located in two rooms of the "Cidade da Cultura de Galicia" (Galician City of Culture). It was created to be used as a café and museum shop.

The areas are connected by an opening drilled into a thick wall that separates the space and allows each side to be controlled simultaneously, as is done in traditional Galician village canteens.

Our proposal is aimed at supporting modern languages, popular culture. The program subconsciously refers to the feeling of our cultural identity, here the dining room acts as a traditional building.

This is a concept that allows you to go through the rethinking of modern canons. The tables are arranged parallel under the schematic trees and evoke the feeling of folk festivals.

A long counter that runs through the wall connects both spaces and also serves a café and a museum shop. A geometric element in a relaxed color takes the lead in conceptual design.

It is often used for places where folk art is displayed. The round and voluminous body hides the space of the kitchen.

Bookshelves and counters of various sizes and heights are easily adjustable. Here they are placed, as it were, by chance, which makes them universal and fundamental.

Seeming complexity characterizes the City of Culture complex. The intervention consists of various pieces of furniture and does not affect the overall design. Quality frames are made of wood, they provide decoration and character and are able to accommodate a large number of people. These shapes make the look richer.

You may have already heard about the amazing project of a canteen-cafe in one of the Moscow schools - in the "Big City" there was a note about the details of the project itself. One of the architects who came up with the cafe is Katerina Bulgakova. It was she, together with her colleague Natalia Skurchaeva, who brought to life the project of a canteen that could not have been imagined before in an ordinary Russian school.

Was this project unusual for you? Did you feel that you changed something in people's stereotypes?

The canteen project turned out to be really special for us, as this kind of social projects come across not so often. When there is an opportunity to make not just a beautiful interior, but an interior with an idea, an interior that changes not just the environment, but the mentality.

Our children spend most of their time in schools, and the school interior as such does not exist at all. Most often, these are dull, featureless spaces with a sad Soviet echo. Long almost hospital dark corridors, bare walls, and there is nothing to say about the dining room. There, usually, you don’t even want to go there. The eternal smell of cabbage, chairs that tights cling to, bent aluminum forks and sheer dullness. Therefore, when the opportunity arose to radically change this - to make the school cafeteria the center of school life, a cafe that you want to go to, where you can escape from the usual school environment, prepare for the test, and even get creative - we were very happy.

What examples in this theme of public space for children inspire you?

In European countries, children's interiors have long been made according to the principle of transformability. Transformer interiors, different functional areas, interactive areas - that is, a "smart" interior that can change depending on needs and tasks.

Our interiors are mostly made according to the principle of embellishment. Those. conceptual, semantic and social load is almost absent. The interior can be not only pleasant for the child, but also developing, teaching, and so on.

That is why we have provided in the interior a green interactive wall covered with artificial grass and consisting of cells of different sizes. This wall can be an exhibition space - children can hang their drawings, photographs, crafts, contests on it. For the holidays, the wall can be decorated with thematic images - flowers in spring, Christmas tree decorations in winter, leaves in autumn. We covered some of the walls with graphite paint, on which you can draw pictures with chalk, write congratulations, and so on. That is, the interior can change depending on the season, holidays and important events.

Have you asked children what they would like from such a space?

My daughter Varya is in the 4th grade, and the school interior is already very important for her. The youngest daughter Lisa is going to school next year. Natasha's children - triplets - go to kindergarten, they are 4 years old. So for us, the school theme is relevant, like for no one else. Before starting this project, we interviewed all our children, and children of acquaintances who go to school - how they imagine the school canteen, what they like and what they don't. We also asked parents, and having collected all these opinions, we set to work. I learned a lot about school life for myself by consulting with my 10-year-old daughter.

Describe the difficulties you faced and the pleasant moments.

It's nice that there are people who are willing to invest in the school cafeteria, making sure that the children feel really good. Such customers are rare (Konix-shkolnik is a company that supplies food and equipment to children's institutions).

Lisa, Katya's youngest daughter
