The latest newspaper "Seversky Rabochiy", the city of Polevskoy, Sverdlovsk Region (). Seversky Pipe Plant, OJSC

The year 1954 entered the chronicle of the Seversky Metallurgical Plant as the year, according to the results of which the enterprise for the first time worked with a profit.
Let the amount be a little over one million rubles, but at that time this figure was significant.
The enterprise, after the war, balancing on the verge of closing, with the arrival of the director Vasily Vershinin in 1949, confidently increased the pace of production: first it reached a breakeven level, and in 1954 it earned its first million.
There were legends about Vasily Grigorievich during his lifetime. He managed to solve many issues: both industrial and social. And the secret of his effective leadership, in our opinion, is simple: he knew how to involve people in the circle of common interests, studied their opinions, listened to their proposals.
One of the means of feedback with the team for the director of the plant was wall newspapers, which were published in the shops and divisions. They talked about labor successes, winners of social competitions, about the shortcomings that interfered with the normal operation of the enterprise.
An attempt to publish a factory newspaper called "For White Tin", unfortunately, ended in failure - the newspaper, more like a campaign leaflet, lasted only a few issues. And the need for a factory information body became more and more obvious ...
Among the authors of the first issue of the factory newspaper is the name of Sophia Rossoshnikh. Later, in one of the materials of Seversky Rabochiy, Sofya Mokeevna will answer the question of a correspondent about how the decision was made to issue a large-circulation edition of the plant:
- It was a joint decision of the "triangle", as the newspaper was established as an organ of the party committee, factory committee and directorate. The newspaper, which was planned to be created seriously and for a long time, and the name had to have a common, acceptable for the whole plant.
Thus, the Seversky Rabochiy was born. Here it is, the first issue of the edition dated November 13, 1954. Yellowed paper, crumbling along the edges of the newspaper sheet (the issue appeared on two pages), nondescript fonts, the complete absence of photographs ... But the circulation of that issue, according to the recollections of the first readers of the newspaper, was sold around the plant like freshly baked pies.
In the post-war years, the plant needed labor, and many young people came to us. Some traveled at the invitation of recruiters (there was a rumor in Russia that in the Urals you could better equip your life), others - to continue their studies at factory schools and vocational schools.
The people who came were different. And one of the tasks of the newspaper was to rally him, to unite him with common goals, to help him join the big factory family.
The four youth dormitories, in which young boys and girls lived, had enough problems with public order. The newspaper, together with its assistants, representatives of the Komsomol committee, often participated in raids on hostels, and then printed these reports on its pages. Oh, and it was a shame to someone after them!
The newspaper with its small staff, but constantly growing asset of working correspondents, already in the first years of its biography, was perceived as a printed organ uniting the plant staff on the way to the cherished goals: fulfilling five-year production targets, increasing labor productivity, improving product quality, creating decent working conditions and life of Seversk metallurgists.
For many generations of northerners, the large-circulation newspaper has become a friend who was always welcome. With the help of the printed word, the spirit of patriotism, love for one's work was conveyed, a sense of collective responsibility for the future of the plant, for the education of a new generation of factory workers was formed.

The Seversky Pipe Plant is one of the oldest enterprises in the Urals. The date of birth of the enterprise is considered to be 1739, when an ironworks was built on the Severnaya River, a tributary of the Chusovaya. He was engaged in the processing of cast iron: up to 180 pounds of bloomery iron per week were forged at the molotov factory.

For two and a quarter centuries, the enterprise was known as a metallurgical enterprise. In the second half of the 19th century, two blast furnaces and two open-hearth furnaces were put into operation at the plant. At the same time, a rolling mill for the production of sectional iron was also installed. The very one for which the Seversky plant did not bypass the worldwide fame of the Ural metal. The trademark of the enterprise - the Seversk heron - was known to the consumers of the plant's products no worse than the Demidov sable.

In November 1925, the plant was transferred to the concession of the English company Lena Goldfields Limited. For 5 years of owning the plant, the company carried out a large modernization of the plant.

During the Great Patriotic War, the Moscow tinplate plant, builders of the Donbasstyazhstroy trust, Voroshilovograd and other regions were evacuated to the enterprise from the West.

The plant produced steel and rolled steel for the enterprises of the tank, aviation and weapons industries, as well as a variety of military products: soldier's metal helmets, discs for machine guns, boxes for primers and detonators, shells for shells, mines and anti-tank grenades; special grades of steels for springs for buffers of railway cars and much, much more.

On the fields of the Great Patriotic War, 1250 factory workers participated, 339 of them died, 705 were awarded military orders and medals, and more than 1500 workers were awarded medals "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."

The discovery and construction of the Tyumen oil fields radically changed the fate of the plant. Convenient geographical location, proximity to transport routes and potential consumers became the basis for its reconstruction. In November 1959, a decision was made to build a modern electric pipe welding shop at the Seversky Metallurgical Plant.

Pipe-welding workshops of TESTS-1 and TESTS-3 were built at the plant, producing electric-welded pipes with a diameter of 6 to 220 mm, which were supplied not only to domestic consumers, but also to customers from 58 foreign countries.

By Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 000 dated February 14, 1964, the Seversk Metallurgical Plant became known as a pipe plant.

The first pipe at mill No. 1 at TESTS-2 was welded on December 31, 1963. CHPP-3 went into operation in July 1971. He began to supply mufflers, steering rods, propeller shaft pipes, filler necks and other parts, as well as frames for balcony loggias, school desks and chairs, garden houses, greenhouses, etc.

In 1984, the plant produced three million steel pipes.

In 2002, the Seversky Pipe Plant became part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company. In 2003, TMK developed and approved a ten-year technical re-equipment program for the Seversky Pipe Plant. In fact, this program involved the construction of a new metallurgical plant on the basis of the Seversky Pipe Plant. All work is carried out without stopping production and in stages, so that at each stage of modernization we can improve the quality and economic indicators.

Start-up in 2002 of the out-of-furnace steel processing unit "furnace-ladle" became the first stage of modernization of the steel-smelting complex. The commissioning of an out-of-furnace steel processing unit (ladle furnace) manufactured by the German company SMS DEMAG gives the company the opportunity to produce steel of any high-quality grades, to produce products with improved consumer characteristics.

In 2006, a continuous casting machine manufactured by SMS DEMAG and a piercing mill were put into operation at the same time.

As a city-forming enterprise, the Seversky Pipe Plant invests heavily in the improvement of the city, environmental programs, and the solution of social and domestic problems.

Today, the issue of preserving the historical heritage of ancestors occupies a special place in the activities of the plant. A reflection of the almost two-century history of Seversk metallurgy can be considered a museum complex, carefully preserved by factory workers on the territory of the enterprise, including the only blast furnace preserved in the Sverdlovsk region - a monument of industrial architecture of the 19th century, where original equipment has been preserved, allowing you to visually get acquainted with the technology of production of cast iron, which was used over a hundred years ago.
