The history of the Slavgorod Agricultural College began in 1929. According to order No. 271 dated 26.07.1929 of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR, a technical school of grain crops was opened in Slavgorod
The first enrollment in the technical school took place in 1929 in the amount of 20 people. The first issue was in 1932.
Unfortunately, only the name of the first director of the technical school Vasilchenko (1929 - 19390) is known.
Classrooms were located on the second floor, practical classes were held in the basement, and the first floor was reserved for a hostel. Trained for 3 years. During the period of study, students underwent industrial practice.
According to order No. 569 dated 16.10. In 1932, the technical school of the Ministry of Agriculture was renamed the technical school of field crops.
The school was mostly run by students. In 1939, the recruitment was 32 people. At that time there was only one department - agronomy. During the war in 1941, the technical school was transferred to the village of Klyuchi, and the building was adapted for a hospital for prisoners of war. Grain crops were grown by students, bread was sent to the front. In 1944, the technical school was again transferred to Slavgorod. In 1945, Andropov Vasily Korneevich became the director of the technical school.
According to order No. 386 dated 15. 10. 1953 of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR, the technical school was renamed the Slavgorod Agricultural College. At the same time, departments of zootechnical and accounting in agriculture were opened in the technical school. From 1965 to 1988, the director of the technical school was Gelmel Fedor Fedorovich.
In 1968, a land management department was opened.
During the years of leadership of F.F. Gelmel, the educational and material base has strengthened in the technical school, new laboratories and classrooms, a gym, a first-aid post, a sports hall, a locksmith's workshop have appeared. The educational institution is proud of its teachers and graduates. In 1981, the experimental work of the teacher Shumilov K.M. was presented at the republican exhibition of advanced pedagogical experience. Shumilov K.M. was invited to VDNKh in Moscow. The technical school repeatedly won prizes, taking part in competitions for machine milking masters, amateur art shows, and sports competitions.
On January 1, 1986, the technical school was reorganized into a state farm technical school. In August 1988, on a competitive basis, A.N. Grabovsky was elected director of the state farm-technical school. On his initiative, two new specialties "Veterinary" and "Commerce" were opened in 1989. By order of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia No. 950 dated November 24, 2000, the Slavgorod State Farm Technical School was renamed into the Slavgorod Agricultural College.
In December 2005, Goryunov Mikhail Sergeevich became the director of the technical school.
Currently, the educational institution is actively undergoing the process of informatization of educational activities. The installation of the educational process at the lessons of informatics and information technologies was made. The local network of the technical school was put into operation, which allows exchanging information, having access to various databases. In the learning process, teachers use information technology, using a multimedia projector, interactive whiteboard. In order to deepen theoretical knowledge, form practical professional skills and abilities of students in the technical school, the educational facilities have been restored, and a training store has been opened. Students of all departments, except for the main professions, receive additional working professions:
artificial insemination operator, driver of category “B”, “C”, tractor driver of category “C”, “E”, “F”, seller; PC operator, motor transport repairman, machine milking operator.
Since 2007, students have been studying the specialty "Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles" at the technical school.
In 2008, a set was made in the specialty "State and municipal management".
