In an unnamed city in Germany, there lived a shoemaker. His wife Hanna and son Jacob successfully traded vegetables in the market. When an ugly old woman once approached their stall, Jacob became angry at her fastidiousness and criticized the woman. To this, the old woman promised that he would become the same. The fact is that she turned out to be a witch, and her name was Travoznaya (German. Krauterweiss- knowledgeable in herbs).
