Night in the woods description. Night in the Woods Review

Night in the Woods is an amazing gaming industry phenomenon. The game brazenly tries to assure you that you are almost in a children's walker dedicated to the adventures of the funny cartoon cat Mei and her animal friends. Admittedly, she does it so skillfully that you don’t have time to follow how the game step by step removes animal masks from the characters and reveals a completely humane and depressing story about growing up and overcoming the main character’s teenage crisis.

By the way, such a concept as a “teenage crisis” should not bother May at all at her age, because she recently turned 20 years old as a cat, she came from a small town to a metropolis to study at college, and life still does not go well. The rebellious nature of a cat often becomes the main obstacle to her growing up. Well, coupled with poor academic performance and major lack of sleep, Mei's rebellious temper puts an end to her new life and forces her to return to her native and familiar Possum Springs from childhood.

This is where all the “charms” of an unemployed life begin. Mei checks her mail every morning, has a stiff exchange of words with her mother, trying to avoid sensitive topics, then meets with old acquaintances, replenishing her diary with notes along the way, and at night she confronts some mysterious entity that comes to her in dreams.

The heroine's nightmares are gameplay-wise and technically the closest to an abstract platformer. In them, we control the astral projection of Mei, who is trying to find and free four of her friends. Each of them, after a happy rescue, plays an unobtrusive melody on a ghostly musical instrument, thereby making their modest contribution to the soundtrack.

A similar mechanic walks in close proximity to the original Night in the Woods concept, with which Infinite Fall went on Kickstarer in the fall of 2013. Whether it was a cunning marketing ploy to collect the amount needed for development as quickly as possible, or whether the game was really originally conceived as a driving action platformer about the secret of the energy of Cat Boris, is unknown. It is only known that they managed to collect the necessary amount almost on the very first day, and by the end of the campaign, the “endless autumn” account had already four times more than they requested at first.

And not in vain. The game is worth paying attention at least because of the great dialogues. Infinite Fall's lyrics are better than the vast majority of the industry's dubious storytellers. The conversations between the characters are worked out and designed so well that the problem of the lack of voice acting by itself fades into the background, however, it gives rise to the problem of the lack of localization. I want to immediately write down some remarks in a quote book and circle it in a frame, and for this, believe me, it is worth studying English textbooks once again. All this contributes to the disclosure of characters, and, which is worthy of separate praise, makes them memorable.

Crocodile Bea, for example, before the events of the game was May's best friend, and after the death of her mother, the need to deal with the family business descended on her shoulders, which she hates so much that she seriously thinks about staging a fire in order to receive insurance benefits and, finally, forget about the ill-fated store household goods.

The reliable and prudent bear Angus also has problems with work. He still sells video cassettes, which in itself is not the most profitable occupation, when everyone outside the window has long been using broadband Internet. And Bea does not hesitate to trust Angus with her car: it means something.

Fox Gregg is deceptively cunning and carefree, it seems as if the earth is on fire under his paws, and at any moment he is ready to drop everything and rush in search of adventure. What can be said about a character whose one of the most innocuous pastimes is a duel with knives? In fact, he and Angus barely make ends meet, disappearing day and night at work and saving even on the necessary.

Undoubtedly, the adventures May goes on with her friends is the most delicious part of Night in the Woods. At such moments, a lot of interesting things always happen to the cat. Steal something in an empty supermarket? You're welcome. Throwing a crazy Halloween party? Receive, sign.

In these wanderings, the triple jump, which Mei will learn at the very beginning of the game, will also come in handy: her parkour talent will help you quickly climb onto the roof so as not to be late for the astronomy lesson. They will let you indulge even with a utterly simplified version of Guitar Hero. True, you don’t have to try to hit the strings in time with the music - the end result will not affect either the outcome of the mini-game or the plot as a whole.

And Possum Springs, once a thriving mining town, continues to decay in the meantime. This terrible secret is revealed not only from the stories of the townsfolk. Shops and shops are gradually closing down, leaving behind only boarded-up ghost houses with broken windows. Fortunately or unfortunately, through the prism of unpretentious lurid graphics, it does not look as depressing as it could be in reality. With a bright entourage of eternal autumn, the developers skillfully compensated for the lack of many details, because your attention is attracted by the chaotic dance of orange leaves flying away from Mei's graceful cat walk.

Over time, comes the realization that in the city, in addition to jogging in a race with leaves from point to point, there is nothing to do. The first time the game hides it behind the dialogues. They plunge headlong into the illusion of pseudo-animation, give the life of each character a purpose, make them blindly believe in all this cute nonsense, arguing for a long time that the story of Possum Springs, contrary to common sense, ended thirty years ago, that this somehow affects perception of the plot, on the life of the inhabitants. But once the side-effect of the skillful wordplay wears off, you realize with anguish that the city is just a panoramic arena to fill the empty space between the loading screens. Sooner or later, chasing passing cars, jumping on mailboxes and releasing barbs at passers-by, still bothers. Then the Demon Tower mini-game installed on Mei's laptop comes to the rescue.

It is worth noting that Infinite Fall is not the first to think of pushing one game into another. But do it exactly only they could. In a good sense of the word, they themselves have driven themselves into a trap, eclipsing the quality of the isometric slasher Night in the Woods itself. But what is so special about Demon Tower?

At first glance, it is based on a very simple idea. However, at the second and even at the third glance, little changes. A pale vampire cat runs through the dungeons and ruins the lives of their inhabitants - no originality. Unless you have to play not for all sorts of “hollow” and runaway prisoners seeking redemption, but for a militant cat.

True connoisseurs, smelling the familiar stench of damp crypts, will immediately remember the cozy and friendly evenings spent for and. But, fortunately, the developers learned from there not only the setting. The fact is that the main character has 9 lives, as well as dodge points, and gradually their values begin to change in a proportional ratio, which at the same time makes it possible to get used to the combat system and adjusts to the pace of the gameplay. But that just sounds harmless. In fact, the Demon Tower, level after level, ruthlessly cuts your hit points, forcing you to react with lightning speed to arrows and knives flying from everywhere with well-timed jumps. I never thought I'd say this, but it was difficult to play. At the same time, you should not write off the local bosses. Not that they were indestructible, but you will remember the road to some of them well, because before the fiend of darkness glues together powerful flippers, you will have to run to it more than once or twice.

After all these adventures, the last thing you want to do is go back to May's everyday life. With slow but sure steps, they continue to drag along the storyline until the final credits, but, unfortunately, it did not work out to make the story monolithic and inseparable. Night in the Woods rushes from one extreme to another, first weighing down with its daily ritualistic routine, and then flowing into a mystical detective story that makes you wait with bated breath for a grand denouement. But the creation of Infinite Fall shamelessly breaks off out of the blue, taking a lot of innuendo into the abyss of past games.

20 years is the best age to indulge in nostalgia. Ahead is a huge unknown, and behind the most comfortable, carefree, albeit sometimes cruel school years. College abandoned, nerves on edge, May returns home to Possum Springs to try to reclaim her childhood.

Fantastic Miss May

Mei is a black cat with an identity crisis who keeps a diary on the advice of a psychotherapist. Her parents are also, oddly enough, cats who work hard trying to pay off their mortgage. Her best school friends are Gregg the fox in a leather jacket and Bea the goth crocodile (crocodile, if you please). Gregg is in a relationship with nerd bear Angus (yes, free spirits reign here). The company also includes a little strange, either a sparrow, or an finches Germ.

Bipedal anthropomorphic animals have four-legged pets - in one of the dialogues, Mei tries to rein in her interlocutor by reminding her that she was once a nanny for his cat. They drive cars, go to parties, look at the stars, beat cars with a bat, walk in cemeteries. And they tame possums, although it makes no sense to take them home - "wild animal".

This strange world is the fantasy of Alec Holowka (Aquaria), Scott Benson (Late Night Work Club) and Bethany Hockenberry, who hide deep and always relevant content behind a cute and slightly bizarre form - a drama about growing up, turmoil and finding yourself.

The first association that comes to mind when you plunge into this flat world (Night in the Woods is a classic 2D platformer in form), full of bright, almost neon colors and details, is Wes Anderson's films and, of course, his cartoon. This association is just as easily supported by the endlessly witty dialogues of the characters, consisting of short, almost always hitting right on target phrases, where almost every remark I want to put myself in quotes.

May is very strange

The dates are called directly - the year two thousand and sixteen. But, despite the clearly stated time of the game, we are immersed in the "good old days" somewhere in the eighties, so familiar to us both from films from that era (Alien, Back to the Future, and so on), and on a new wave ("Super 8", "Very strange things"). The heroes of the game, who are nostalgic for things that happened five or six years ago, are actually turned to the childhood and youth of the authors. Here is the group Sonic Youth as May's main idols (she, of course, is a bassist in the manner of Kim Gordon - and we will have severe cuts in the local analogue of Guitar Hero). There's also a video store where Angus works. There are video games here as if from the Atari era - for example, May's computer has the entire Demontower roguelike covered with pixels, quite hardcore, by the way; one of the most interesting games-within-a-game I've seen.

But at the same time, half of the shops and entertainment outlets in the shopping center are closed - what can you do, this is the Internet. He devours everything, now there is no point in going somewhere to partake in the feast of consumption. Unless God Stevenson orders to do it. The world seems to be at a crossroads and waiting for something big. Perhaps even a disaster. On the nose of Halloween, and everything around is getting a little creepy - after leaving the diner, Mei and her friends find a severed hand that they just want to poke with a stick.

Night in the Woods takes on a very slow pace and consists mostly of going through the same places looking for different secrets and talking to the same characters. But if the slow development of events does not bother you, then you simply do not have time to get tired of this routine: it is diluted in time with mini-games with the ability to touch things with fluffy paws, and new places that we discover together with old and new friends.

The game will only speed up towards the end, and before that, you will be immersed in the everyday life of Mei and her loved ones, their memories, aspirations and experiences, and even their relationship with religion. As a result, someone will wearily leave the gamepad or mouse in a couple of hours, and someone will find virtual friends in their person at least for a while. The characters are written in large strokes, but very distinctly and lively, in each character you meet you catch a personality that you want to get to know better.

May in the rye

But there is only one main character. Mei is not a vehicle for telling the story of the world around her, or the driving force behind a plot separate from her. No, she is the plot. A cat jumping on wires. A cat in a destructive frenzy. A beer-drinking cat. A cat who can't tell why she dropped out of college even though her parents went into massive debt for her.

Generously spilling black humor along the way, Mei hides confusion behind a screen of cynicism - on the threshold of adulthood, full of routine, losses and everyday problems, I really want to do something crazy.

Holden Caulfield was 14 years old and older than all the adults. Mei is twenty, but she wants to get her fourteen back when everything around seemed so stupid that fixing this world for herself in the future seemed like a trifling matter. Easier than a steamed turnip: just be yourself. But where can you find yourself?

Mei will have to catch this ghost of herself, test friendship for strength and seek contact with her parents. And through the warmth of funny dialogues, harsh criticism of the social structure, the stagnation of small industrial towns in America with ever-increasing unemployment and the inability to make only comfortable decisions when you are economically shackled hand and foot will suddenly appear. Night in the Woods will surprise the attentive player more than once.

Night in the Woods will not impress with some variety of game mechanics and will not give room for wagering - decisions will have to be made, but the story is ultimately linear. It depends only on you how much you can take from this story for yourself. In this regard, the creation of Infinite Fall is a classic indie game. What we expect from such projects is a personal statement made with infinite love for those who are ready to listen and experience it with the storyteller. For those who prefer another rumbling blockbuster an apple box filled with books left by your beloved grandfather.

Advantages:

  • "warm lamp" graphics with the unique style of Scott Benson;
  • great soundtrack;
  • beautifully written dialogues;
  • deep characters and story.

Disadvantages:

  • sometimes routine gameplay.
Graphic arts A 2D platformer with a minimum of special effects, but with hand-drawn backdrops and characters, as well as sparse but very nice animation. Well, and most importantly, the style of Scott Benson cannot be confused with any other. It's going to be one of the most recognizable games of our time, you'll see. 9
Sound Alec Holovka's soundtrack works great in conjunction with texts and graphics. You always expect great music from an indie game, right? But the complete lack of voice acting can disappoint someone. But only slightly. 9
Single player game The plot does not always work perfectly smoothly, the routine with the repetition of the same actions sucks, but the dialogues are written so brilliantly that the game could be loved only for them. Knowledge of English is required - there will be no official translation. However, it will certainly be amateur. 10
Collective game Not provided.
General impressione Another project that confidently affirms the obvious for a long time: games are art. Night in the Woods provides an opportunity to plunge into a charming world and deftly balances on the verge between drama and comedy, managing to touch on a variety of topics. 10

You are 20 years old. The people you know already have jobs, plans for the future, and a reasonable idea of what they want to achieve in life. They have... but not you. What if you just want to live - want some clutter? Mei the cat found herself in such a situation in the game Night In The Woods. But before moving on to the Night In The Woods review, let's enjoy the loading screen, which will be a faithful companion for players who decide to start this amazing adventure.

Home Sweet Home

Leaving the walls of the college, Mae goes home - to the town of Possum Springs - through a dark forest, and this is where the plot of Night In The Woods begins, the review of which will go further. Returning home, Mei communicates with friends, walks around the city, plays computer games - does everything that she did before studying at college, but gradually begins to understand that life does not stand still and everything that was before is long gone into the past.

The dilapidated town of Possum Springs has changed a lot, as have its inhabitants. Reality made the inhabitants cruel, and Mei's friends began to play completely different games...

A story that can't be told

Don't worry, Night in the Woods has a plot... but where it will take you is a completely different question. It's a calm game of small scenes between friends enjoying each other, hurting each other, making sacrifices and trying to move forward with what's left. All the scenes without exception are beautifully written.

But the biggest plus of the game, which I want to note in the Night In The Woods review, is the characters. All of them are so different that it gives the game world even more reality. Each of these anthropomorphized animals has more decency, honesty and soul than the characters in many games that we are so proud of.

Choosing between "no" and "no"

Night In The Woods is kind of a platform game, and here you have to spend a lot of time trying to jump somewhere. But there is one thing that the developers have used quite effectively - it's interactivity. The fact that you can choose which characters you want to interact with - and how often - creates an atmosphere of realism. Unfortunately, quite often you will have to make a choice between how best to say “no”. Here you will not be forced to do anything. How to act is up to you.

"... so you can play the game when you play the game"

It is worth noting in the review of Night In The Woods mini-games - another of its pluses. Some of the mini-games do not require special skills, but only dilute the linearity of the plot (playing bass, stealing a store, throwing food at a friend). Others are an integral part of the plot and amaze with the level of quality (pixel full-fledged game on a laptop, travel in dreams). Mini-games are quite adequate, but noticeably slow down the pace of passage, and yet the events themselves are developing quite slowly anyway.

Night in the forest? Night inside...

Came to an end with Night In The Woods review; let's summarize. In fact, most of the game is spent trying to answer the question: what can we go for and what will we choose? There is no simple or complex answer to this question. But the answers that can be found are so terrible, beautiful and painfully humane that it leaves a feeling of ambiguity.

Yes, this game is not perfect. We are not perfect. Life is not perfect. But if you have patience, you will see that there is true beauty in the revelation called Night In The Woods. Night In The Woods is as awesome as it is useless game. It's a fairly linear game that offers a huge variety of choices. It's an insanely small world with incredibly huge content. It's a poignant and intriguing story, but mono-voiced and idiosyncratic. It's a visual novel, it's a platformer, it's an adventure, it's something completely different.

Official trailer

A couple of weeks ago, after four years of development, crowdfunding and porting, Night in the Woods finally came out. And we can immediately say that everything was at least not in vain. The project is unusually presented and has a deep idea at its core. By genre, this is an adventure game, a 2D platformer with some elements of a visual novel. Alec Holauka managed to create a truly atmospheric game that you want to get to know better with a cursory glance. It is felt in a warm, hand-drawn picture and cute music, something kind and touching. Or maybe this is an erroneous opinion and some kind of abomination is hiding behind the screen of such a shell. Well, there, perverted sex, drugs and other obscene content. Or the truth is somewhere in between. Let's find out in today's.

Digging through the history of the Internet now, you can stumble upon posts in foreign social networks and forums like Redit that a crazy game is about to come out. They are sometimes dated 2014-2015 and attached with a short story trailer. From it it was clear: the world consists of an anthropomorphic city with poorly “balanced” animals. Some size ratios, or something like that, nobody cares. The main character of the game is a cat. And here she is, for the life of me, more like a cat. Expression, so to speak, of the face, clothing, and in general. Next, we see a fox and a bear (clearly men) embracing lovers. Questions may already arise here. Such posts are accompanied by conflicting user comments. On the one hand - "What a nice picture and music, and the plot should be touching." On the other hand, “What kind of LGBT propaganda is this and why does everything look so crazy?”. Probably, both sides, after a few years, are still interested to know what happened in the end. And we have this.

The plot of Night in the Woods

At the age of 20, Mei, a black cat who dropped out of college, returns to the town of her childhood - Possum Springs to her parents and old friends. Apparently, she could not stand adulthood and, against the background of existential searches, lost her nerves. Now she is treated by a psychotherapist and, on his advice, keeps a diary with her thoughts and memories. By the way, it will be one of the important elements of the gameplay. She arrives on the last night bus. After a joke from a local resident, she and the player along with her begin to get acquainted with this city.

Walking through the frighteningly silent streets at night, Mei immediately begins to compare the impressions from her childhood with how she feels now and how everything has changed. Even though it's only been 2 years. But such is our May's character. She returns to her parents' house. She has conflicting relationships with her parents, or maybe it just seemed to me. And so, little by little, May re-enters Possum Springs. He starts hanging out with his old friends Gregg the fox, Boa the goth crocodile, Angus the bear and Herm the sparrow. As was clear from the trailer, Gregg and Angus are gay lovers. This whole friendly company attends parties, drinks, arranges dubious events and sometimes does various nasty things to the residents. But calling everything that happens is not worth it. This is shown as safe as possible (as far as possible, apart from a couple of moments). There is a large number of capacious, caustic and sarcastic dialogues, for which the game is definitely a plus.

The main plot intrigue begins after the Halloween holiday, when the guys find a severed hand. There are mysteries and mysticism intertwined with Mei's dreams. Such a platformer is unlikely to scare, but the disturbing atmosphere is sometimes conveyed well.

The world of the game Night in the Woods, in itself is very strange (or rather it is banter), Animals give birth to themselves, a sparrow of the same complexion with a cat and a bear.

The date of the events taking place is clearly named here - the year 2016. However, the entourage looks more like the end of the eighties - the beginning of the nineties. The feeling of teenage rebellion, the conflict between fathers and children, nostalgic experiences is well conveyed. You think - "Perhaps, this is how I would feel, leaving everything and returning to the places of my childhood."

Bottom line: I remember there was such an animated series at the very beginning of the 2000s “As Ginger Says”. For some reason, I immediately remembered him during the game. The same diary with notes of thoughts about friends and relatives, the same crisis of growing up and the atmosphere of a provincial American town. All this can be called a game of nostalgia and a sharp parody of the lost generation of the Internet and Google. It's all sad at times, but sweet and beautiful.

Graphics Night in the Woods

The visual part of Night in the Woods is made to look like a cartoon. And done well, despite the aforementioned bugs. Maybe these are not bugs at all, but the author's idea in order to convey some other idea. The picture is good and nice to look at. Claims about the lack of proper detailing of maps, I think, are inappropriate here. This is the style chosen. The motion animation is nice too. Mei cutely runs, jumps, performs different actions. Interaction with the diary and various objects does not just happen. At such moments, Mei's paws are shown in the first person. It seems like a trifle, but nice.

Bottom line: the graphics here work great to create the right mood. If some other style were chosen, the game would not be so attractive. And so, a cozy lamp-likeness is our everything.

Gameplay Night in the Woods

If we compare the gameplay with more famous games, then the first thing that comes to mind is “South Park: The Stick of Destiny”. Indeed, there is the same character control, moving around locations, interacting with game characters. Classic platformer side view. We have a main character and we live her life (one might say, we burn it) in an American town. We communicate with friends, perform various quests that appear from story situations. There are many moments of puzzles when it is not clear where to go next and what to do. You have to find the solution yourself. When interacting with some objects, the player controls Mei's hand (front paw, more precisely) from the first person. It is rather necessary as an entourage than it constitutes a task or an obstacle.

More interesting events, and even action, take place in the dreams of our kitty. You have to catch some musicians there, but it's too surreal to describe. Mei's laptop deserves special attention. It has a game installed like the old version. And installed not for beauty. If desired, it can also be passed with all the consequences. Naturally, there is no multiplayer here.

Bottom line: for such a game, there is a good variety of actions and situations. We communicate, go to events, keep a diary and delve into his notes with analysis, travel through dreams, play a game on a laptop. In this regard, it is certainly far from the “South Park”. It's like South Park, but heavily cut (SP fans will understand). But that's just for gameplay. Setting, message, history, they certainly cannot be compared. It may take several hours. The plot is short.

Night in the Woods soundtrack

The game has sensual, penetrating music. Well, still, because the creator is famous for his compositions. No complaints here. Just good.

Conclusion

Still, it is difficult to give an unambiguous assessment of this project. This is both sweet lampness and social protest in one bottle. does not pull on a masterpiece. It is not necessary to recommend to everyone and everyone without fail. She will find her player herself or he will find her. In its direction, perhaps worthy and inexpensive.

In T2 Trainspotting (an unplanned sequel to the cult film Trainspotting), former drug addict Mark Renton returns to his hometown after a long absence and learns with longing that nothing has changed there, especially his old idle friends. The militant cat May Borowski, the main character, faced a similar problem. Having dropped out of college, she, in the company of school friends, went headlong into the same petty hooliganism as the characters in Trainspotting. Only in other conditions - in an atmosphere of mysticism to match the series "Twin Peaks".

Vacation like a cat

- a representative of a purely "arthouse" branch of independent games. On the one hand - gameplay intelligible and, on the other - the brainchild of a designer and composer Alek Holovka(co-author) and artist Scott Benson. died down in the distant autumn of 2013, it was planned to release the arcade in January 2015, however, the authors repeatedly shifted the release date - like, creative specialists, freed from the scolding of a strict publisher, are not particularly in a hurry. Well, think for yourself how to make an "art house" without inspiration? And inspiration, as you know, is a capricious comrade.

Holovka and Benson served as an interesting story, where the gameplay is deliberately pushed into the shadows. That's why it's easy to draw parallels with movies ("T2 Trainspotting", "Twin Peaks", "Poor Rich Girl" ...), but with similar games it's a snag. Unless "teenage" comes to mind and, with reservations,.

Fluffy Mei is 20 years old (in the world, people are replaced by anthropomorphic animals). This is an irresponsible and extremely bored person - hands on her knees, a tired look, her right ear trembles, giving out nerves. Sometimes he cheers himself up by staring in the mirror. The only child in the family, she dropped out of school for an important reason (for the time being she does not say which one) and rolled into Possum Springs, a tiny town that used to prosper at the expense of a coal deposit. But the mine was closed, and Possum Springs rushed downhill: there are no jobs, people are leaving, shops are ruined one by one.

It is difficult for a failed specialist to return to his native street, and it is doubly difficult for a child. Even though Mei is 20, they don’t sell her alcohol, she doesn’t have a driver’s license, so in the eyes of the kids she is a useless overgrown teenager.

However, Mei is happy with the old comrades with whom she played dirty tricks at the school desk. True, there is a dissonance - these are adults, albeit retaining their former enthusiasm: the energetic fox Greg, the thorough bear Angus and the burnt smoker Beatrice. Yes, Greg and Angus are a gay couple! Apparently, for current screenwriters, the easiest way to get the attention of the public on the characters is to inscribe them in the ranks of the LGBT community. Why invent something bright and extraordinary like Agent Snow from Breakthrough or the textbook Neo? Write that the hero is gay or transgender, and this will surely be discussed.

Shortly before the paws of Borovsky Jr. set foot on the ground of Possum Springs, Casey Hartley, another of her friends, mysteriously disappeared. In general, people often disappear here, and seeing a severed hand in the dust at the diner is not the most insane situation. The cat decides to find out - what's the catch, who is behind the abductions?

Despite the overwhelming array of positive reviews on Steam, users mention the routine. Mei's day is strictly divided into several segments: woke up, read the mail, dived into the Demontower bagel, talked with mom in the kitchen, ran away with Greg, Angus or Beatrice in search of adventure, sat in front of the TV with dad in the evening. No wonder people are leaving Possum Springs! Otherwise, you will go crazy and start stealing teenagers or smearing broken bottles in the garbage.

The game is saved by an unusual visual design - it must be that most of the audience “pecked” at it. In Possum Springs, autumn leaves are carefully animated, the eyes of passers-by synchronously follow May when she jumps over fences and wires, squirrels and birds scurry around randomly underfoot ... The city is divided into compact locations, alas, with tangible loads during transitions. Still devoid of voice acting - seriously, I got tired of reading and finished off the game "on the machine." The same faces, the same routes… I forgot to say, Mae has mental problems, and Possum Springs is probably to blame. Twin Peaks Lynch also inhabited entirely by madmen.
