Hubbard Dianetics is the modern science of the mind. Dianetics and Scientology in the USSR

The doctrine of the metaphysical relationship between mind and body, created by the American science fiction writer Ronald Lafayette Hubbard.

In recent decades, this theory has not been so popular in Russia. And in the days of the USSR, many famous statesmen and bright scientific minds professed it. But first things first.

Dianetics - what is it?

Nevertheless, one must begin to consider this teaching from the theory proposed by Ronald Hubbard himself. Consider his book Dianetics: The Modern Science of the Mind. It was written in three months and saw the light in 1950.

So, according to the founder, Dianetics is the science of how to think and live correctly. Using her methods and techniques, one can achieve healing from many physical ailments and the burden of past mistakes, and, in addition, begin to think positively.

Dianetics divides the human mind into three conventional parts: consciousness (analytical subconsciousness (reactive mind) and the so-called somatic mind. The goal of the practice of Hubbard's followers is to rid a person of the consequences of the work of the reactive mind, which affects the behavior, life and health of a person. This influence is as follows: everything experienced is recorded in the subconscious of a person, and then experienced again in a similar situation. A so-called engram arises. For example, a man has a toothache, and while he is in pain, children run and make noise in his house. Time passes, and when the children make noise again, this man may again have toothaches for no reason, even recently healed or completely healthy.

According to Hubbard, Dianetics is a modern science of mental health, which means that it can help a person achieve harmony and psychological comfort. In addition, following the canons and observing certain instructions proposed by the founder of the theory, one can allegedly live forever.

Dianetics is about survival

Ronald Hubbard proposed a scale that began with non-survival and ended with eternal life. A person strives for immortality and overcomes on his way a huge number of levels of existence and four so-called dynamics:

  • the first is the desire to survive for its own sake;
  • the second is survival for the sake of one's family and loved ones;
  • the third is life for a group of people;
  • the fourth is the existence of the individual for the benefit of all mankind.

A man's mind helps him to survive. Only by getting rid of the adverse effects of engrams can one move to a higher standard of living. And Dianetics involves a certain procedure, the purpose of which is to rid a person of engrams.

Working with Engrams

Hubbard proposed a procedure for auditing - active listening as Dianetics presents it. What it is? The procedure goes as follows. One person who is having certain life problems, treated in Dianetics as the negative influence of engrams, tells in detail about his difficulties to another person, the auditor. The listener directs the narrator's thoughts to the realization of the pain he has experienced. He asks questions and uses special Dianetics techniques to get rid of engrams.

In this way, the action of all engrams gradually disappears from a person's life. But this is the ideal development. No one, not even Hubbard himself, who nevertheless died in 1986, managed to achieve deliverance from the reactive mind, and at the same time immortality, failed.

However, many scientists, analyzing the theory of Dianetics, noticed that only a person like Hubbard could create such a doctrine. Why is that?

From the history of Dianetics

As stated above, Dianetics: The Modern Science of the Mind was written in a very short period of time. Hubbard and his followers explain this as an insight, but the critics of Dianetics point to something completely different.

Erich Fromm drew a parallel between Hubbard's auditing and chakra cleansing, which was popular at the time, and there is no scientific basis for these methods, more precisely, in some of them the need for any justification is simply ignored, while others take the teachings of recognized masters of psychology as a basis. So did Hubbard.

And what about Freud?

Hubbard tried to tie his Dianetics to the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud, modifying the teachings of the famous doctor and also the procedure for conducting a psychoanalytic session. Fromm notes that if Dianetics were a simple retelling of Freud's teachings, it would not have any negative impact on the minds of ordinary people, its followers. But Hubbard misinterpreted psychoanalytic terms, just as he misinterpreted the understanding of the value of the human person.

Dianetics - the science of the mind? May be. But if we accept this, as well as the scientific basis of the theory itself, we thereby recognize that a person does not have the ability to build his life by performing actions and logical choices, we recognize that a person does not have an individuality. Hubbard believed that it was possible to program an individual to act by ridding him of engrams. That is, by pressing the necessary levers, you can get certain actions from a person.

Psychoanalysis seeks to help the individual, to reveal the contents of her psyche, which remains unconscious and slows down development, remaining in the shadows. Dianetics of Ronald Hubbard deprives a person of the ability to think and be aware, it teaches to reject engrams and "push the levers." Dianetics thus kills the personality itself in the personality.

Some Facts about Hubbard's Biography

Hubbard was a writer. First, he created fantastic stories that were published in some American magazines, then, according to his followers, he collaborated with Hollywood and even wrote several scripts for the Columbia Pictures film company. But for some reason his name didn't appear in the credits...

During World War II, Hubbard commanded a ship, but because of his organized pursuit of a seemingly non-existent submarine, and then the shelling of a Mexican island, he was removed from command and written off to the shore.

At the end of the war, Hubbard was hospitalized with a battle wound. No documents and extracts from the medical file on this moment no, as, however, was not before. Presumably, Ronald Hubbard self-inflicted injury in order to leave the fleet and get to land faster.

In the hospital, he, according to his own statements, developed special techniques that could help terminally ill patients to recover. After the war, he produced widely acclaimed writings, and the covers of his books read "Hubbard L. Ron: Dianetics."

Dianetics and Scientology

These teachings are interconnected. However, if Dianetics was initially positioned by the author as a science, then Scientology was immediately elevated by him to the category of religion. Scientology and Dianetics use very similar terms, but some differences in content do exist.

Thus, both Dianetics and Scientology proclaim survival as the only goal of man. Both teachings divide the mind into analytical and reactive, and also postulate auditing as the main way to get rid of all problems and diseases. However, Scientology proclaims a person by default good, and his own identity - the eternal and indestructible basis of being, calling it the new word "thetan".

Scientology is directly related to the Purification Company, which was also founded by R. Hubbard. Dianetics, by the way, by that time (60s of the last century) had already been criticized by the American scientific community, which, quite possibly, became the impetus for the emergence of more and more new concepts developed by Hubbard. His undertakings seemed to be becoming good: the Purification company was developed for the rehabilitation of drug addicts and former criminals. However, behind these good intentions were, again, Narconon and Criminon.

Criticism of the teachings of Ronald Hubbard

Initially, Dianetics was criticized. The response from the American scientific community came down to one thing: Hubbard did not have the mandatory license for psychoanalysts to run their own medical practice. The postulates of his theory did not receive proper theoretical justification and were recognized as unscientific.

In the 1950s, Hubbard gave an interview for The New York Times in which he stated that he had conducted a phenomenal study - a psychometric test, in which more than 80 people with various pathologies participated. According to Hubbard, most of them improved after their Dianetics therapy, and his patients were free from asthma, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, and pronounced homosexuality. There was no confirmation of this.

Following Dianetics, Scientology was subjected to scientific criticism. At first it was about the very definition of it as a religion. Scientology takes its theory from both Christianity and philosophy, psychology, and other humanities. In fact, it does not belong to any of these areas of knowledge.

Later, scientists and the media expressed the opinion that Scientology is a commercial organization, with the help of which Hubbard is hiding from persecution in the case of illegally providing medical services to him. She, thus, served him as a kind of facade, allowing him to remain in the status of the leader and founder of the whole doctrine, as well as earn money.

Scientology and Dianetics were not only criticized in their time, but also subjected to real persecution under the law.

Death stories of adherents

There are several such cases. The most famous is the death of Lisa MacPherson. The girl came to Scientology early. She was already an adept when she had an accident, an accident, after which Lisa ended up in the hospital. Like-minded people in faith took the girl to the operating center of Dianetics and Scientology in order to prevent doctors and psychotherapists from interfering in her fate. Lisa died two and a half weeks later.

Another girl, Susan Meister, shot herself aboard a ship owned by the Church of Scientology. More precisely, the suicide version was suggested by Hubbard's followers themselves, but in fact it was established that Susan was killed. Perhaps her death was part of some Scientology rite.

Two men, Patrick Vick and Richard Collins, jumped out of a window. True, the reasons for each of them were diametrically opposed: Patrick did not have enough money to pay for the next theoretical course in Dianetics, and Richard wanted to leave the sect of Scientologists, but they would not let him go. He regularly received threatening letters from former church comrades, and the man, driven to an extreme degree of despair, found no other way out for himself.

Several other cases of suicides committed by former members of the organization are also associated with Scientology. As a rule, the reason was a bitter disappointment in religion and the personality of the teacher - Ronald Hubbard.

According to Hubbard himself, his teaching should heal, but, as we see, it was Dianetics that became the cause of the collapse of human destinies. Reviews about her, of course, were completely unflattering. However, this was the case in the USA. How were Hubbard's teachings treated on the other side of the Earth?

Dianetics and Scientology in the USSR

Ronald Hubbard's Dianetics came to the USSR in the 70s of the last century. It reached our country after it was criticized in the United States, and received quite wide popularity here.

Hubbard's teachings were admired by many men of science of the time, and courses of lectures were delivered to students of educational institutions by the most inspired professors. Scientology was perceived as a "science about science", its categories and postulates were tried to be deeply studied and rethought, as well as put into practice.

Centers for Dianetics and Scientology existed in Russia in the 1990s. Later, in the post-Soviet space, the teachings of Ronald Hubbard were banned as contrary to scientific canons and destructive. However, some postulates of Dianetics were borrowed by the founders of the destructive sect "Sinton".

Conclusions about Dianetics

So, the theories of Ronald Hubbard were considered destructive, unscientific and practically charlatan. However, Scientology still exists today, and its church retains all copyrights to Hubbard's Dianetics. Many people still consider themselves adherents of Scientology, among them there are even very famous media personalities: Tom Cruise and Elvis Presley's ex-wife Priscilla.

Such is the strange, incomprehensible and in many ways absurd theory of Ronald Hubbard - Dianetics. What is it really? Another page in the life of all mankind, not entirely rosy and pleasant, but which is still possible to turn.

For thousands of years, man continued to conquer the physical universe with great difficulty, but he knew almost nothing about his most important weapon, about his most valuable asset - the human mind. Despite the fact that there was an obstacle in the form of ignorance, man made progress, but this ignorance led to the fact that he suffers from madness and disease and, most importantly, he is threatened with the destruction of everything he created, if a new one breaks out. war.

Dianetics is the science of thought. The word "Dianetics" comes from the Greek word dianous (from dia - through and nous - "mind" or "soul"). Dianetics includes all reliable data related to thinking. The workings of the human mind and knowledge as such (far simpler things than man previously thought) are presented in Dianetics as a system of knowledge that can be used by any person with some mental ability.

No civilization can move forward on the road to stable, lasting survival without a firm and confident grasp of the kind of knowledge found in Dianetics. This is true, because Dianetics, if applied skillfully, delivers exactly what it promises. As far as man is concerned, it can prevent or relieve mental illnesses, neuroses, compulsions, and obsessions, and give him physical health by removing the underlying cause of about seventy percent of human diseases. In the family sphere, with the help of Dianetics, greater agreement and harmony can be achieved. As far as nations or smaller groups, for example in industry, Dianetics is able to improve governance so much that all these lamentably flawed ideologies for which people fight and die with such frightening zeal can be thrown aside, since we have the actual technology. .

Dianetics extends its influence to everything. At the heart of any human undertakings is human behavior and human thinking. Once a person has an answer to these basic riddles, there is almost nothing left that is ultimately unresolved.

However, for some, Dianetics is something strange and frightening. It penetrates so many areas and activities, bringing enlightenment there, that it cannot but find and expose those who profit from ignorance and repression and whose exceptional importance is based only on the ability to control other people. What will become of the leader of a revolutionary movement who, by sowing the seeds of hatred and prejudice, overthrows the government when his troops suddenly realize that the ideology he preaches is outdated and unsuitable for today? What will happen to an organization that existed to treat people (but didn't) for some terrible disease that Dianetics cures with ease? Where then this organization will take appropriations? What about the practitioner who has spent twelve long years studying to become an expert in exorcising demons from insane people, and who unexpectedly learns that after a few weeks of studying Dianetics, any savvy person can get much better results without causing such harm, How is he?

Dianetics, suddenly appearing among the conflicting, ignorant theories of madness, sickness, hatred and war, plunges into sheer panic those who profit from conflict situations. After every war, a huge number of generals find themselves in the ranks of the unemployed. It can be said that Dianetics is the beginning of the end of the war which man leads with obscurity and ignorance in matters related to his own mind - and many "generals" see their stars begin to dim.

What happens to any field of activity, the source material for which is exclusively random observations, when natural laws are introduced into it, which, as can be shown, are exact and unchanging? You can't argue with natural laws. The non-living scientist (who was tamed centuries ago, unlike his fellow humanities) has at least learned to accept the evidence received through the senses. But the "scientist" - the humanities - has never been taught logic, mathematics, or even scientific methodology. He is a pretender who has settled in the backyard of the sciences of inanimate nature, hoping to bask in the rays of the glory that Newton stood at the origins of.

Because of this, Dianetics is besieged on all sides by many notorious pretenders with their "Indian marshroot oil". They made a profit from the sale of this oil, and a fabulous profit, and those who sold it for them are also in no way going to quietly turn off their trays.

Perhaps the current generation is too ignorant to understand the new science. If so, it would be very unfortunate, because atomic bombs can cause great damage to people, destroy cities and even destroy entire cultures. Perhaps the peddlers of crazy ideologies and destructive therapies are too rich, too powerful, and too selfish to let a ray of hope fall on the dark stage our generation is on. Perhaps Dianetics will only be widely applied tomorrow, if that tomorrow comes.

In 1950, Dianetics had to prove its worth, and it did. Greater tolerance was thus shown for such demands, since the efficacy of none of the presently existing "logies" relating to the human mind has ever been confirmed and they have never been required to do so.

To put it bluntly, established therapies don't work. Their results are almost no different from those that would be obtained if no therapy was carried out at all. What kind of society do we live in, if pretense is taken for something effective, despite all the facts that contradict it!

Dianetics works. No one who has spent any time at the Dianetics Center has the slightest doubt about this. It works even when used by relatively inexperienced people. She works wonders every day. And this is not so strange, because Dianetics is the fundamental knowledge of human activity.

However, Dianetics is not psychotherapy or medicine dealing with psychosomatic illnesses.. Those who need these kinds of things find that Dianetics works quickly and effectively in these areas, so they think it's psychotherapy. Those who have been invaded by Dianetics would like to see it outlawed before their wonderful "marsh root oil" is discredited.

From a long-term perspective, Preventive Dianetics is more important to humanity than Dianetic Processing. Group Dianetics is more important to our war-torn society than all the arthritis remedies put together.

Dianetics is the science that studies the fundamentals of human thought. It considers human activity and brings previously disparate knowledge into the system.

Dianetics has a basic goal, a worthy goal that cannot be discounted or brushed aside by some charlatan being left without a source of income or some revolutionary not being able to realize his crazy idea. The goal of Dianetics is a mentally healthy world free of madness, crime and war. If our generation lives to the time when it can take up the task of describing history, then let it dedicate one page with painful feeling to those who, in this chaotic and dark age, sought, out of self-interest and hatred, to stifle truly humanistic science.

The goal of Dianetics is mental health, and only madmen can prevent it.

L. Ron Hubbard's Child Dianetics is about ways and means of raising a happy, healthy child and establishing peace and understanding in the family by eliminating the causes of conflict and disease. Dianetics is a psychotherapeutic technique that does not use drugs or hypnosis. Its core is attentive listening to the patient, who is fully aware of what, why and why he does and says during the session. Those who wish will be able to master this technique to a large extent by reading "Children's Dianetics".

The Dianetic method of spiritual (spiritual) healing is the best school for human consciousness. Dianetics (Dianetics) means "through the soul" (from dia - through and noos - soul). Dianetics is a way of manipulating the energy of life in order to improve both the human body and his spiritual life.

IMPORTANT NOTE

As you read this book, be careful not to skip words that you do not fully understand.

The only reason why a person quits studying a subject or feels unable to master it is the missing misunderstood words.

Confusion, an inability to grasp the essence of what is read or to learn anything, appears AFTER a word that the reader could not define and did not understand.

Have you ever read to the bottom of a page and found that you don't know what you just read about? It means that somewhere earlier on this page you slipped a word to which you could not find an explanation or misunderstood it.

Here is an example. "We found that under crepuscular lighting, children are calm, and when such lighting is not, the phrase escaped your understanding just because of one word that you could not explain - "crepuscular", which means twilight, dim.

It happens that not only new and unusual words have to be looked up in the directory. Words, the ordinary meaning of which you know well, in a scientific text may have a different meaning and, defined by you incorrectly, will give rise to misunderstanding.

This rule - not to skip incomprehensible words of indefinite meaning - is the most important thing in the study of any subject. Any science that you took up and then abandoned contained concepts that you could not find definitions for.

Thus, while studying this book, check yourself all the time - whether you missed a word without fully understanding it. If the material starts to confuse you and you, as it seems, have ceased to grasp the meaning, it means that somewhere earlier in the text there was a word that you did not understand. No need to wade further, go back to where everything was clear, find that word and pick up a definition for it

To help readers, words that would probably remain misunderstood without explanation are defined in footnotes when such a word occurs for the first time in the text. Some words have multiple meanings. The footnotes explain the sense in which such an ambiguous word is used in this context. You can find the rest of the meanings in the usual explanatory dictionary.

All definitions given in the footnotes at the end of the book are collected in a terminological dictionary. This dictionary, however, is not intended to be a substitute for conventional dictionaries.

The Dianetics and Scientology Technical Dictionary and Definitions from Modern Management Technology are an invaluable resource for students. You can get them from your nearest Church of Scientology or Mission, or directly from the publisher.

With the exception of the introduction, this book was prepared and written collectively, which, of course, took time. Meanwhile, Dianetics has made significant progress. The theory of the interaction of Spirit (or Life) and the physical universe, the conscious advancement technique, the deep advancement technique, and other advances create new possibilities for child Dianetics. The book is thus published not because it is the last word in Dianetics, but because society demands it.

The main difficulty in working with children is not in what methods to subject them to Dianetic processing in order to restore their health, but in ensuring that they live normally, humanly. The stumbling block here is not a child, but an adult. For adults, there is Science of Survival and Introspection. Adults have a certain power, although modern adults prefer not to use it, and children are not afraid of this power. For a child, the best remedy for all evils is kind, tolerant and loving adults.

How to teach a child and at the same time not break him? This is the most difficult problem in education. According to the Jesuit system, it seemed to be somehow solved, but the solution disappeared along with the Jesuits. And now the American Medical Association, an organization dedicated to the management of medical practice, recently came out with a booklet, a masterpiece of nonsense, called "How to manage your child." Well, how can this be! After all, your goal is to raise a child independent, so that they do not need to be "managed", so that he can always manage himself. His life, his mental and physical health depend on it.

My dear ex-barbers, your children are not dogs. And they can't be trained like dogs are trained. These are not objects to manage. Children, mind you, these are men and women. A child is not an animal, nothing like people. A child is a non-adult male or female.

Any law that regulates the lives of men and women applies exactly the same to children.

How will you like it if they pull you, pull you, dispose of you and forbid you to do what you want? You will be outraged. The child "does not resent" just because he is small. Yes, you would have killed on the spot the one who would have ordered you, an adult, to object at every step and would have treated you as unceremoniously as a child is usually treated. The child cannot repay the same, because he still does not have enough strength. Instead, it stains the floor, prevents you from playing solitaire, and disturbs the peace in the house. If he had equal rights with you, he would not need such "revenge". This "revenge" is the behavior of an ordinary child.

The child has the right to self-determination. You will say that if he is not restrained from dropping things on himself, running into the road, etc., etc., he will be in trouble. Where are you good as a teacher if your child is among objects dangerous to him or where trouble can happen to him? If the environment is dangerous for him, it is not his fault, but yours.

A child can be loving, sweet and affectionate as long as he has the opportunity to exercise his self-determination. To the extent that we curtail his independence, to the extent that we restrict, hamper his life in general.

There are only two reasons why a child's right to decide for himself can be violated - if he can seriously harm others, or if he and you are in danger. Regardless of your good intentions, you should not take on him the tasks intended for you.

There are two directions in solving the problem of self-determination of the child. Provide the child with an environment where he can not break anything, safe for him and, if possible, giving him scope for activity. Also, you can remove your own aberrations, at least enough so that your tolerance outweighs his inability to please you.

When you give something to a child, it is already his. It's not yours anymore. Clothes, toys, a place in the house, and whatever else, if given away, should remain at his complete disposal. Even if he rips his shirt, loosens the crib, ruins an expensive toy. It's none of your business. How do you like it if someone gives you a Christmas present, then starts telling you day after day what to do with that gift, and even punishes you if you fail to treat it the way the giver sees fit? You will show your kindness, and a gift! And you know it very well. So the child begins to wag your nerves when they do this to him. It is a revenge. He is crying. He whines in his ear. He ruins your things. He "accidentally" spills the milk. And he spoils the property on purpose, precisely because he was "warned so many times." Why? He fights for his independence, for the right to let others feel his influence. Pseudo-gifts, "his" property, which he does not manage, in fact, is another thread that he is pulled like a doll, and the child enters into a struggle with both "his" property and the "puppeteer".

L. Ron Hubbard: SELF-ANALYSIS A Practical Guide to Self-Improvement

SELF-ANALYSIS

A simple self-help book containing tests and techniques based on the findings of Dianetics.

Don't listen too hard to whowill tell you that this system will notwork. Such a person cannot feelhimself safe if the people around him becometoo strong. A wise man checksbefore speaking. And the critic only followstransient fashion cynical, and imbuedapathy of the century. You have the right to yourown opinion. This system worksor not - you will see from your own experience.No authority in everything Christian the world is not subject to change the laws of nature.

This is the most useful book you will ever have. The Science of Survival book, based on the Hubbard Table of Human Evaluation, contains a method for accurately predicting human behavior - such a method has never existed before. The Human Evaluation Chart lists every manifestation of someone's survival potential, from highest to lowest, making The Science of Survival the definitive guide to the Tone Scale. Knowing only one or two characteristics of a person, you can use this table to establish his position on the Tone Scale and find out what his other characteristics are - this will allow you to determine exactly what this person is, how he will behave and how his character. Previously, people were convinced that the state of cases could not improve, that it could only get worse. The book Science of Survival also talks about how a person's case can be in different states, and also about - and this is a completely new idea - that a person can climb the Tone Scale. Thus, the basis of the modern Table of steps is laid here.

Dianetics, a method of spiritual healing: the most effective doctrine of the mind.

Word Dianetics means "through the mind." It comes from the Greek "dia" - "through" and "noos" - "soul", "mind". A more detailed understanding of this word is "how the mind affects the body."

Dianetics is a method of controlling the energy that makes up life in order to increase the efficiency of the body and the spiritual activity of a person.

L. Ron Hubbard: THE HUBBARD TABLE FOR HUMAN EVALUATION

Many people look at science as an icon. In fact, science, by definition, is just an organized system of facts, seemingly unrelated, that combines these facts into a single whole that has practical application. Organized according to certain fundamental axioms (which can be found in the appendix*), Dianetics is a system of knowledge with practical application by which the riddle of man and his behavior can be solved.

The goal of the search for the energy of life, begun in 1930, was partly achieved with the discovery of the lowest common denominator of existence - the command "Survive!".

What is the reason for self-doubt, manifestation of negative emotions and irrational behavior? The painful experiences of our past clearly influence our present behavior. But to what extent and why? What causes the mind to deviate from rational thinking or behavior? These are all themes of Dianetics. What it is? Let's figure it out.

Dianetics - what is it?

Do you know someone who has never fully recovered from a major loss in life? Is there a place in your daily life for doubts, sad thoughts, unfounded fears, mental disorders? All moments of your life are recorded by your mind. It is everything that happens to you: sights, sounds, tastes, smells, pain, joy, emotions, touches, and so on. Thus, a whole sequence of positive and negative experiences gradually accumulates.

Dianetics - what is it? All this information is used by the mind in order to make decisions, cope with problems, overcome difficulties that are associated with survival and existence in general. The predominant part of this data keeps the analytical mind safe, or rather, that part of it that is responsible for thinking, remembering and calculating.

However, there is data that is not saved to the analytical memory bank. This is the area of study of Dianetics, the science of the reactive mind that records all painful experiences and makes an irrational attempt to get you to avoid repeating what once brought a lot of pain and suffering.

Dianetics - the modern science of the mind

Let's say you once had severe food poisoning due to spoiled food or a certain product. If in the future you see or smell, or perhaps even just imagine the ill-fated dish, you may get a sudden onset of nausea. Logically, all these mental associations cannot cause physical harm to the body, but the feeling experienced earlier can be experienced again.

Dianetics, the modern science of the mind, studies that secret area of consciousness that is responsible for the experience of past experience and responds exclusively to certain stimuli. Painful experiences that hide in the reactive mind are the cause of fears, insecurities, negative thoughts, unwanted emotions and irrational behavior.

The Purpose of Dianetics

To make life comfortable and enjoyable, you need to learn to think and behave rationally, make the best possible decisions, use your imagination and creativity to the maximum. The goal of Dianetics is to clear the mind so that the person becomes more confident, intelligent, productive and happy. And absolutely everyone can achieve this.

A little about the founder and philosopher of Dianetics

Dianetics - what is it? Is it a new modern science, or is it something else? Translated from Greek, dia means through, nous means mind or soul. The founder of this field of study is Ron Hubbard. Dianetics is a methodology that helps alleviate negative feelings and emotions, minimize irrational fears, and get rid of psychosomatic illnesses. This is the interaction of the soul with the body through the mind.

Before 1950, the human mind was the brain with all its cells and neurons, nothing more. The Scientologist scientist was the one who wanted to look deeper and see what was yet to be known. This is how L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics appeared, the science of the mind as a link between the body and the soul, the modern doctrine of mental health. Its publication in 1950 marks a turning point in the history of man's quest for a true understanding of himself.

Mental health science

The book that Hubbard wrote, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, has been a bestseller for over 60 years. In fact, more than 20 million copies have been released. It has been translated into 50 languages and is the most widely read and influential book ever written on the human mind. Ron Hubbard's book "Dianetics" has managed to inspire a worldwide movement that spans over 160 countries and has an army of millions of followers.

You can feel the global scale of the ideas that are presented there by the example of the fact that various foundations and centers of Dianetics currently exist. There are large organizations and small groups in Asia, Africa, Europe, and throughout the Americas.

Mind and Survival

Ron Hubbard's book Dianetics asserts that the purpose of the mind is to solve problems related to survival. The mind guides the individual in his quest to survive on the basis of the information that he receives in the process of human existence. These data are called image images - three-dimensional images with color, sound and smell, as well as other perceptions, including tactile and sensory. Thoughts, conclusions and conclusions are also written here.

Memories - images of mental images

The mind creates mental images instantly and does it constantly. This can be seen in the example of memories. To do this, you just need to imagine what happened before: what you ate for breakfast, what happened last week, and so on.

Memories are images of mental images that are actually made up of energy. They have mass, they exist in space and have a very interesting ability: they appear when someone thinks about something.

Reactive Mind Solution

Having discovered the existence of the reactive mind, Hubbard offered his solutions, which have been documented in many case histories over more than half a century of cleansing practice. The goal of Dianetics is to achieve a new state of mind - clarity, in which any side effects of the reactive mind are excluded. The person becomes free from his emotions. He can think for himself. He can experience a life free from inhibitions.

Artistry, personal strength and individual character - everything remains in the main personality of a person, and not in his reactive mind. This is a highly desirable state for everyone. A purified personality has the following characteristics, it is:

  • the power to free oneself from an active or potential psychosomatic illness;
  • acts at its own discretion;
  • energetic and persistent;
  • not depressed;
  • is able to perceive, remember, imagine, create and calculate at a level above the norm;
  • mentally stable;
  • free from emotions;
  • able to fully enjoy life;
  • can reason, think and react quickly.

Dianetics is a technology

L. Ron Hubbard discovered the only source of nightmares, unfounded fears, all sorts of frustrations, insecurities and psychosomatic illnesses. This is the reactive mind. In his book, he described this concept in detail and outlined a simple, practical, easy-to-apply technology for overcoming negativity and achieving a state of clarity.

Dianetics is a technology that determines what the soul does to the body. When the mind negatively affects the body, a psychosomatic state arises. "Psycho" refers to the "mind or soul" and "somatic" refers to the "body." Thus, psychosomatic illnesses are physical illnesses caused by the soul.

Dianetics and Scientology

Is there a difference between Scientology and Dianetics? The doctrine of the mind reveals the source of unfounded fears, disorders and insecurities, inexplicable pains, sensations and emotions (psychosomatic illnesses) and establishes effective manipulations for these conditions. The use of the Dianetics procedure made it clear that the source of these conditions is not cells or cellular memory, but the very existence of man, his "being", which defies time.

The discovery of past lives was accompanied by phenomena of exteriorization - the conscious removal of one's spirit from the body. From this discovery and the inevitable conclusion that man is a spiritual being, the religion of Scientology was born. It is defined as the study and handling of spirit in relation to oneself, to the universe, and to other life.

Through the practice of Scientology one can increase one's spiritual awareness and ability to realize one's own immortality. Dianetics, although it may not have guessed in its early publication that it was dealing with the human spirit, is a forerunner and a kind of hoax of Scientology.

Dianetics in Russia

On this occasion, an expert opinion of the complex commission was created, which is set out in the order of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the Russian Federation of June 19, 1996, No. 254 "On the abolition of the methodological recommendations" Detoxification Program ". It states that the use of methodological recommendations, which are used in the Hubbard Humanitarian Center and the Church of Scientology in Moscow, is not safe and may cause harm to health.

The assertion that Scientologists have the key to salvation and are the best representatives of humanity inevitably leads to conflicts with those who do not accept this teaching, to the destruction of previous interpersonal relationships, and can also severely traumatize the psyche. Also, Dianetics calls for mass isolation of adherents of the Church of Scientology from society.

A Fad Called Dianetics

In the 1950s, a phenomenon called "Dianetics" hit America like a hurricane, attracting hundreds of thousands of people, especially on the West Coast, with the promise of healing them of all problems without subjecting them to tedious hours of psychoanalysis. All you had to do was read a book written by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard.

But above all, this book had something to offer those people who always secretly wanted to be doctors and dreamed of curing others. The information presented enabled them to do so without all the tedious years of training required. All they had to do was also read Hubbard's book.

Her influence was incredible. There were clubs of Dianetics all around. People referred to Hubbard's book as the Bible. Thousands of people rushed to join the Dianetics parties and experienced their new birth there (in accordance with the philosophy of Dianetics, which said that human prenatal experience was the cause of many problems today).

But then, when everyone was so happy about the new philosophy, advanced critics came and spoiled everything. Dianetics has been discredited by professional doctors and organizations. However, later she calmly survived the rebirth. First, people could no longer become "doctors" simply by buying Hubbard's book. Instead, they had to pay for courses at their institutions before they could obtain "professional" status. Secondly, Hubbard changed the "science" of Dianetics into a "religion", which was called "Scientology".

Scientologists did accept the idea of God, but they believed that He exists in every person as a "thetan", which is roughly comparable to the spirit or soul. One thing is for sure - Scientology is expanding and has probably tripled or quadrupled its influence in the last few years.

What is the future of Scientology?

Will adherents revive Dianetics, as they are now doing in America and England, if they encounter great difficulties? Will they repeat their claims that their teaching is science, or will they claim that it is religion? In a letter entitled "Scientology 1970," Hubbard wrote that it would be planned on a religious basis throughout the world. The letter stated: “This will in no way disturb the normal activities of any organization. This is a question for accountants and lawyers.”
