Leonov Gennady Valentinovich- rector, professor, doctor of technical sciences, honorary worker of higher professional education of the Russian Federation.

During the Great Patriotic War, a number of large engineering, food and light industries were evacuated to Biysk. During the period from 1953 to 1958, 10 large industrial enterprises appeared in the city. Almost all enterprises created earlier were reconstructed. One of the most important research institutes for the country at that time (ANIIHT) was created, which later became a powerful scientific and production association working in the field of the defense industry.

The rapid growth of industry gave rise to a number of specialized secondary and vocational schools. There was an urgent need to create a higher technical educational institution. At the initiative of the city leadership and the heads of large industrial enterprises, the USSR Ministry of Higher Education decided to open the evening faculty of the Altai Polytechnic Institute named after M.V. I.I. Polzunov. The first set took place in 1959 from among the workers and engineers - practitioners of the chemical plant and boiler plant.

In 1979, the faculty was transformed into a branch of the Altai Polytechnic Institute named after. I.I. Polzunov in the city of Biysk (BF AltPI).

In 1993, in connection with the change in the status of the head university, the branch began to be called the Branch of the Altai Technical University in Biysk. On July 1, 1994, by order of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Higher Education, the branch was transformed into the Biysk Technological Institute of the Altai State Technical University. I.I. Polzunova (BTI AltSTU). The Institute acquired the status of a legal entity with all the attributes and, accordingly, a high level of independence in matters of educational, scientific work, economic activity.

At present, BTI AltSTU is a relatively small institution of higher education, with four faculties enrolling 1686 full-time students, 391 evening students and 398 correspondence students. Training is conducted in 12 specialties and three areas. There is a preparatory department and paid courses to prepare for entering the institute.

In total, 196 teachers work in the branch. Of these, 86 candidates of science, 14 doctors of science. The institute has its own graduate school, where training is carried out in eight scientific areas. Teachers of the Institute are doing a lot of scientific and practical work, the results of which materialize in new industries of enterprises in the city and other regions.

The quality of education at BTI is the most important indicator. The first thing to note is that the Biysk Technological Institute received a license for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of vocational education - secondary, higher, postgraduate (postgraduate, academic degree - candidate of science), additional (second secondary or higher education). The license gives the BTI the right to study in twelve specialties and three areas within the framework of higher education, four - within the framework of postgraduate studies, one each (economics and enterprise management) within the framework of a three-year additional training for those who already have higher education.

The Biysk Technological Institute has successfully passed the state certification and, based on its results, was accredited as part of the Altai State Technical University. In addition to certification by state higher education authorities, Altai State Technical University conducts independent certification of its territorial divisions: the head university in Barnaul, the Biysk Technological Institute and the Rubtsovsky Industrial Institute. According to the results of the last test of the residual knowledge of students in basic disciplines (mathematics, physics, computer science), BTI took first place, ahead of the head university. The result obtained is the result of a number of factors.

The level of preparation of applicants coming to us has significantly increased. In recent years, a system of interaction with secondary educational institutions has developed in terms of improving the quality of preparing students for entering a university. The participation of BTI professors and associate professors in the school educational process has become the norm. A number of schools have specialized classes. Cooperation with secondary educational institutions is formalized legally in the form of bilateral agreements. Especially close and multifaceted is the interaction with a real gymnasium. In the matter of improving the quality of training of specialists, the importance of the factor of individual work of professors and associate professors with senior students in the framework of course and diploma design, carried out according to those implemented at the hardware level, i.e. ready-made, final design forms, themes.

Numerous contacts have been established with foreign colleagues. Here we strive for openness and integration into the global education system, the use of modern achievements in information technology. In this regard, we acquire and develop computer training programs, work within the global INTERNET network.

Currently, the institute trains students at four faculties(Faculty of Information Technology, Automation and Control; Faculty of Chemical Technology and Mechanical Engineering; Faculty of Mechanics; Faculty of Continuous and Distance Education.)

By the way, it has its own graduate school, where graduate students study in eight scientific areas.

Biysk Technological Institute- branch of the state educational institution "Altai State Technical University named after. I. I. Polzunov. Located in the city of Biysk. It is the largest branch university in Russia. According to the monitoring results, it was recognized as an effective university. .

Story

The institute originates from the evening faculty of the Altai Polytechnic Institute (now the Altai State Technical University named after I.I. Polzunov), founded in Biysk in 1959 to meet the needs of the defense complex that is being formed in the city by specialists in the field of chemical technology and mechanical engineering.

The evening faculty was initially located in one of the administrative buildings of the Biysk oleum plant and in the building of GPTU-4.

  • In 1965, the first issue took place.
  • In 1967, the enrollment of applicants for the full-time department in the specialty chemical technology began.
  • In 1969, a 4-storey building of the institute was built on Trofimova Street (currently it is the educational building "A").
  • In 1970, the admission of applicants to the full-time department in the specialty chemical engineering technology began.
  • In 1974, the construction of a new educational building on Trofimova Street was completed (currently - educational building "B")
  • In 1979, the faculty was transformed into a branch of the Altai Polytechnic Institute.
  • In 1994, the branch was reorganized into the Biysk Technological Institute as part of the Altai State Technical University
  • In 1994, the Faculty of Information Technology, Automation and Control was formed
  • In 2002, an educational building was put into operation on the territory of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise FSPC Altai.
  • In 2006, an educational building was put into operation on the territory of the Polieks enterprise.

Educational buildings and material and technical base

As of 2010, the institute has 5 educational buildings.

Building "A"

Located at st. Trofimova 29. Historically the first building of the institute. It houses the departments of general education disciplines and the Faculty of Economics.

Building "B"

Located at st. Trofimova 27. It is the main building where the administration of the university is located. In building "B" there are departments of biotechnology, commodity science and examination of goods, general and analytical chemistry, methods and means of measurement and automation, engineering technology, automation of chemical production processes, processes and apparatuses of chemical technology. These departments have a significant laboratory base located in the same building: the laboratory of acoustic processes and apparatus, the laboratory of machine tools and tools, the laboratory of metal forming, the laboratory of heat treatment of metals, the laboratory of winemaking, the laboratory of dairy products.

Building 1B/1

It is located on the territory of Federal State Unitary Enterprise FSPC "Altai". It is regime. A special pass is required to enter its territory. It houses departments whose activities are related to the training of specialists for the military-industrial complex: chemical technology of high-energy compounds (formerly chemical technology of gunpowders and solid rocket fuels), rocket engines, high-energy installations and automated systems.

Building on the territory of JSC "Polyex"

The building is located in the industrial zone at the address BHK Industrial Zone, 4, near the Sibpribormash tram stop. It houses the Department of Technical Mechanics and the Department of Motor Transport. Due to the change in the economic policy of the Biysk Tram Management Municipal Unitary Enterprise, which consists in reducing the tram traffic to the industrial zone of the Polieks and Sibpribormash factories and the absence of bus routes in the specified area, since 2008 transport communication with this building has been difficult, especially during daytime and evening.

Laboratory building in the industrial area

Located in the southern part of the industrial zone in a pine forest near the Gornaya public transport stop, it has no address. The building houses chemical laboratories. Previously, it also housed the institute's ski base.
