"godfather" of the Soviet air defense.

Kraskovsky Andrey — orienteer and triathlete

Tell us a little about yourself and how your regular exercise started

Since childhood, I have been engaged in sports radio direction finding (“fox hunting”).

All training and hunting competitions take place outside of Moscow in forests and swamps. Therefore, somehow in life there was a nomadic image of spending days off and holidays. Gradually, from "fox hunting" he switched to orienteering, a more accessible and "promoted" sport.

For more than 15 years I have been regularly running with a compass in the forests of our Motherland!

Because I am an office worker, so I spend all my workouts in the evenings. And plus always active sports family weekends. By the way, my family and I are multiple champions of Moscow in the starts “Dad, Mom, I am a sports family” (both in the gym and in the pool and winners in the Touriade)!

This year you participated in the triathlon TriStar Estonia 2012 for the first time. Tell us more about these competitions.

In June of this year, I somehow cooled down with regular orienteering races, and the summer starts are all away, for which my family and I did not gather, unlike in previous years. And by chance I became interested in the participation of a “good old” friend in the Triathlon in Vienna. He posted pictures on Facebook, which people actively commented on. Moreover, he invited me to join a group of like-minded people trying to develop this sport in Russia. So I ended up at the first training session in Krylatskoye (which then took place every Sunday on the eve of the Moscow Triathlon on August 25, 2012).

Perhaps you used some special training technique?

I started without any system, according to my feelings. More experienced triathletes from our Trilife.ru club were happy to share their experience of training, passing through transit zones

(the area where the athlete will first remove the wetsuit after overcoming the water part of the course

and puts on cycling shoes, a helmet, and after the bike ride - the second part of the triathlon -

changes shoes for sneakers and begins the third stage of the triathlon - cross). Immediately, my usual mountain bike became my “weak” link in the triathlon. I was engaged in swimming as a child, now I try to take a subscription to the pool a couple of times a year - in general, there is some kind of base. Running, respectively, pulled up in orienteering. But on the bike, we only rode with my family in the vicinity of the dacha!

What impression did Estonia make on you? What did you especially like?

Let's start with the fact that the place itself is very beautiful, and the spirit of adventurism and excitement before the start of TriStar Estonia is in full swing! Already at the border crossing with a bicycle on the roof of the car, we were asked: To the competition? - You have already passed a lot. Moreover, last year, traveling with my wife along the route St. Petersburg - Helsinki - Tallinn - Otepaa, we were fascinated by the beauty of the small town of Otepaa, passed the "rope course"

and dreamed of coming here with a child! And so it happened a year later! Otepaa- this is a place for sports: lake - swimming, rowing; a biathlon stadium and a ski-roller track, excellent cross-country and bike paths, a ski jump! Yes, all Estonian roads are numbered for cycling!

And here is the launch day.

This photo was taken by almost all the participants of the competition.

Of course, there was pre-launch excitement, especially the passage of transit zones and, in general, “will there be enough strength” ?! During the race, I tried to restrain myself, calculate my strength and discovered with pleasure that I was running “easy” (this does not apply to the first 300 meters after a 30 km bike ride, here the legs simply do not bend)! After the finish - euphoria - "I did it!", "I covered 33.3 km"!

This is what the participants look like after the finish.

Thanks to the family for their support during the race!

What other competitions and where did you take part?

After Estonia, August 25, 2012 was my second start in Krylatskoye Vesta Bank 3Sport Sprint Triathlon.

This is probably the largest and best organized competition in Russia. 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run!
Swimming pulled up in Turkey, every morning swims for 30-40 minutes.

At 7 am, few people went to the beach! Swim with turtles! I want to point out that "swimming like a turtle" is cool, unlike "walking like a turtle". I have never been able to catch up with her!

What are your immediate plans, what other competitions do you plan to take part in?

Orientation continue to run. On October 14, One Man Relay ran 12.5 km in a straight line (during the distance I forded the river 2 more times). October 28 - running half-marathon "Autumn Thunder". Well, of course, I'm making plans for 2013. I want to become half-iron by completing Half-IronMan in Mallorca in May

and continue the tradition of starts in Estonia, no longer 33.3 km, but 111.1 km!

And in winter, be sure to ski! For the past few years, during the “long” winter holidays, “collections” have been practiced in Finland.

And here I completely agree with the fact that on foreign prepared tracks “you soar” already from one species!
