Night school education after 9. Night school education

Weekend and evening school.

Our Weekend and Evening School is open for students in grades 5-11 with no age limit!
And it is especially in demand by students over 18 years old!!!
According to statistics, more than seven and a half thousand people study annually in Moscow evening schools alone (2014 data).

Those of our adult students study here who did not finish school at one time for various reasons, but now already have a job (work in shifts or in a 5-day working week with two days off), but want to move up the career ladder further and it’s easy for them it is vital to catch up and finish school.

According to the model regulation on general educational institutions, underage children and adolescents study in ordinary day schools. Adults who did not have time to receive a basic or complete secondary education before the age of 18 can complete it at an evening school. The life situations of evening school students are very different: after graduating from basic secondary school, someone served in the army and, intending to continue to study at a university, while preparing at an evening school according to the 10th, 11th grade program for final certification, obtaining a certificate and passing the exam, someone studied at a technical school or college, but did not finish it - got married or got married, interrupting his studies "for family reasons." Someone came from another city or even a country and completes their education according to new Russian educational standards.
This, however, does not in any way limit the rights and opportunities for these adult students to receive a good education. Evening school is an opportunity to get full-fledged certificates of basic and complete secondary education of the state standard! Yes, and at a more convenient time!

Evening school is a special educational institution that provides everyone who wants to acquire a general secondary education. The main students are adult working people, so classes are held in the evening. Some naively believe that night school education- a relic of the Soviet era, which has completely lost its relevance. In fact, on the contrary, this type of educational institution has never lost its importance and popularity: many people sign up for classes every year!

Who visits her?

All citizens who for some reason have not received a secondary education can study at an evening school. As a rule, adult citizens over the age of 20 apply for help, behind whom there are only 9 classes, and sometimes even less. Often, young people who have completed military service and decided to enter universities become students. In such cases, they will be able to master the missing program and boldly submit documents to the selection committee. In addition, working people who need a promotion come to improve their education, and the work schedule does not allow studying during the day. Since most employers insist that employees have a general education, this group of students, as a rule, is numerically predominant. Evening school becomes a real opportunity for them to improve working conditions and achieve career growth.

Learning Features

The main feature that distinguishes these institutions from the usual schools is the opening hours. Classes begin at 4-5 pm, when many students are already home from work. Lessons end late in the evening - at about 20 - 20.30.

The mode of operation of an evening educational institution, as a rule, does not provide for daily classes. They are held several times a week, moreover, the hourly load on the subject is much less than in a regular school.

Another distinguishing feature is the "diverse" composition of students. The class gathers an audience of all ages, which makes the learning process quite difficult.

Night school problems

Despite the great importance of this educational link, evening institutions face a considerable range of problems. Consider the most significant aspects.

Financing. The special status, unfortunately, "plays" against institutions: they receive much less money from the state than ordinary schools. Sometimes the management is forced not only to reduce the salaries of teachers, but is also not ready to replenish the staff with additional specialists. Of course, this affects not only the salaries of employees, but also the quality of the educational process as a whole. Lack of funds for timely repair, replacement and updating of equipment and computerization makes the learning process uncomfortable and significantly reduces its effectiveness.

Lack of methodological base. Teachers of these institutions do not have special teaching aids. Therefore, the whole process is based on the usual school principles and on the same material. The teacher has to not only adapt the school curriculum to the new conditions, but also be able to “squeeze” the material in a short time. It is worth noting that in simple schools, the number of hours allotted for a topic is often not enough for proper study. In the evening school, this time is even less! So, most of the questions are left for independent study.

The times of the "Big Break" and "Spring on Zarechnaya Street" have not passed

This Prokopyevsk school has classes three times a week. High school students do not have diaries, many are already moms and dads themselves. If such students skip school, it means that they were not released from work. The younger class are troubled teenagers who were kicked out of regular schools. Our correspondent looked into the evening to find out how much everything has changed since the days of the Big Break and Spring on Zarechnaya Street.

English lesson in the evening school in Prokopyevsk

nahooliganila

The only vecherka in Prokopyevsk works on the basis of the former 41st school. Since 2013, the school has become part of the electrical engineering technical school, but we will call it in the old manner. It's like there's not one, but two evening schools. High school students (students of 10-12 grades) are adults, responsible and socialized. And in the 9th grade, schoolchildren get in the direction of the inspection for minors. Graduates of the local ninth grade, as a rule, continue their education in other educational institutions. It is extremely rare that they come here in the tenth.

Ninth-grader Antonina (name changed for ethical reasons) has been attending evening school since October, before that she went to a regular school. She is dressed in a rustic way, wrapped in a downy scarf and resembles the girl depicted on the Alenka chocolate bar, only older and larger. Gives the impression of an open, trusting and non-confrontational person.

Why were you transferred here?

- For hooliganism.

- What exactly did they do?

- Naughty. The windows were broken at the school.

- You seem calm.

- They were there all the time saying: “Tonka then! Tonka it is! Tonka screwed up again ... ". And I decided: "Since you say so, here you are - get it!".

- Isn't there something like that here?

- Not. The teachers are different here.

According to Antonina's current teachers, if she was once uncontrollable, she now behaves differently. True, she recently ran away from the last lesson, I had to call Tonya's grandmother. I don’t ask the corresponding question, but it’s clear that the girl either doesn’t have parents, or they don’t care about the fate of her daughter.

The very first evening school in Prokopyevsk opened in 1933 and was located in Artem Lane. Since the end of the 90s, the cooperation of this school with the 41st school began. The school also recruited groups of two-year students who received only a profession, but not a certificate of secondary education. Many studied at the same time in the evening. To make life easier for such students, they decided to conduct lessons within the walls of the 41st. Now there is no school in Artyom Lane. Eight years ago, she completely “moved” to the school, where both students who master the profession and, separately, students of the evening school study. Former Vecherka teachers now work at the school: they teach both in groups of students and in evening school classes.

I'm talking to just such a teacher. She asked not to be named.

“Look here,” she explains. - Pupil N. - there is no need for his surname to flash. He committed a crime - one, the second. I missed a lot of classes in a regular school. In the end, they posed the question point-blank. He says: "I will not go to you!". Came to us - and now one of the best in the class. Tries. Would like to go to college or college.

As the teacher said, N. "stole metal from somewhere." She believes that the guy has improved. And she is very worried about him.

- I spoke with the investigator. There will be judgment. I hope they give it on parole.

What if he ends up in a colony?

There is also a school there. Finish my studies. I have such children who sit in the colony and call me from there.

All pupils here are called children, even overage ones (a forty-three-year-old man studied at this school a couple of years ago). As for the calls from the colony, the teacher recalls a ninth grader who got married and left the party. She gave birth to two. I couldn't get a job without education. To feed herself, she traded drugs. She graduated from the nine-year school, but already behind barbed wire. The former student, having been released, is unlikely to come to the senior evening classes, but she will still break with her criminal past, the teacher is sure.

How successfully are those who are sent to the evening by the Inspectorate for Juvenile Affairs socialized? The teachers hesitated to answer. Some difficult teenagers do not care about the direction: to steal and rob, a certificate is not required. And teachers sometimes hear: “Your student went to jail!”, And this criminal has never been to an evening school. Those who go to classes, as a rule, take up the mind. For them, the evening is a chance to change their lives, and they try not to miss this chance.

“You know, recently I met a man on the street,” says the same teacher. - Greeted: "Remember, I studied with you?". Tolya! He was in ninth grade with us. He says: “I am in Moscow. Graduated from medical school. I work as a nurse in a military unit. Everything worked out for Tolya, as he dreamed. I'm so happy for him!

The ninth graders I saw didn't look like criminals. Quite adequate and polite, however, not too sociable. I think many could stay in ordinary schools, from which they exclude not only novice criminals, but also petty hooligans, truants, so that the indicators do not spoil. And in the evening, pregnant schoolgirls leave.

- Do you treat such young mothers normally?

“Of course, that’s life. For an ordinary school, this is something non-standard, but adults also study with us. They don’t look askance at us,” the teacher says.

Careerists and technicians

In the Prokopiev evening, those who had graduated from only five classes at one time also studied. But there are very few of them left in the city, the corresponding class cannot be completed, and they go to the Novokuznetsk evening school to catch up. And in Prokopyevskaya today the youngest grade is the ninth. And there are more and more ninth graders. In ordinary schools, after the ninth, they used to take only two OGEs, now there are five. Accordingly, the number of those who did not pass increased. Those who fail the exam are often transferred to the evening. This was told by Olga Terentyeva, a teacher of Russian and literature at an evening school and a class teacher of the 12th grade.

According to the Law "On Education", basic education is compulsory (up to the 9th grade inclusive). However, many employers interpret the law differently and send those who do not have a "secondary complete", that is, eleven classes, to study in the evening. Olga Sergeevna explains that many senior evening students entered this school under the threat of being fired from their jobs. Others need the USE to enter a university. In general, in the evening everything is very heterogeneous. Adults. Almost all high school students work. Everyone has their own background, life experience and their own motives to finish the eleventh (more precisely, the twelfth - the program is prolonged here).

A few years ago, Olga Sergeevna had a student who worked as a driver and said that he was not going to turn the steering wheel and swallow dust all his life, but wanted to sit in an office in a leadership position, wear a white shirt and a fashionable jacket. He achieved his goal.

However, school textbooks in adulthood are taken not only by careerists, but also by those who can really sympathize.

- Trained nurses. Sellers who do not want to sell beer, but want to move somewhere further. Technicals. Just yesterday, a student says: “How long can I scrub the floors and clean the toilets?! When it was necessary, I didn’t study, and now I’m sitting in a lesson and I don’t understand anything. ” But she tries, - says Olga Terentyeva.

And in the evening, a girl studied, who at the same time graduated from the Prokopyevsk College of Music. I wanted to properly prepare for the exam in order to enter the university. Now she is a vocalist in one of the Moscow theaters.

On the whole, Olga Sergeevna has a positive attitude towards the Unified State Examination. Evening graduates take it in the general stream, along with students from regular schools. They no longer have to expect that familiar teachers will regret it. And the cunning ones - there are, of course, some of them - understand that now you can’t buy a certificate: it’s easy to check from an electronic database whether the owner of the “crusts” of the Unified State Examination passed.

Olga Terentyeva at the lesson

But, according to Olga Terentyeva, it is still better to study on time. Once upon a time, the programs of evening and ordinary schools coincided, the same number of hours were allotted for each subject. Now classes are three days a week. In form - lessons, but in essence - consultations. Lots of stuff to learn on your own. During the year, students take several tests in all subjects. Failures at the exam and the exam are not often, but they do happen. Some high school students, who seem to have come with a desire to study, still drop out of evening school.

As the teachers said, last year one student had to leave school because the boss did not want to revise her work schedule. It is probably easier to manage the uneducated.

"Best Peels in Town"

Today, about 40 ninth graders and 30 high school students are studying in the Prokopyevsk evening.

A few minutes before the start of the first lesson in the senior class, I manage to have a very short talk with thirty-five-year-old Svetlana.

- I completely forgot everything! she admits. - But here the teachers explain more clearly, they chew everything. It’s even funny that I didn’t understand these topics at the time.

After evening school, Svetlana is going to medical college. She has a son in the ninth, a daughter in the sixth. Helps them to do their homework, and the children appreciated how much the level of mother's erudition has increased.

Tenth-grader Yevgeny Shabaev works as a repairman at the mine. At one time, he received a profession at school No. 12, but not a certificate of secondary education. In the evening he came himself, they didn’t force him at work. Works: day, night, two days at home. Sometimes it turns out to go to classes all three times a week, sometimes - only once. Teachers say Shabaev is doing well.

- We have the best "crusts" in the city - the rights to BelAZ or a bulldozer. They teach at the Gostekhnadzor, there is no need for eleven classes, - Evgeny argues.

“Then why did you go to the evening party?”

- Useful. I want to study while there is time and opportunity.

Julia is a classmate of Eugene. He travels to classes from the village of Mikhailovka. There are six hundred inhabitants and only a nine-year-old, after which the girl took courses as a manicurist. Now he works in this profession. After a two-year break, I decided to return to school - now in the evening.

- Very convenient schedule: only three days a week. Therefore, it is possible to combine with work. - says Julia.

- The employer lets go to study?

- I work for myself.

- Here they strictly ask, do they teach seriously?

- More serious than at the school where I studied before.

Mikhailovka belongs to the Prokopevsky district, but much closer to Kiselevsk - just a fifteen-minute drive. The Prokopyevsk teachers explained that, as far as they knew, there was not a single evening school left in Kiselevsk. And the Department of Education of Kiselevsk confirmed that there are no more evenings in this city.

Let us add that there is only one evening school left for the entire Prokopyevskiy district - on the basis of an agricultural college in the village of Shkolny. They called there. College leaders say that one evening is not enough for the whole district, residents of not all villages and towns can regularly go to Shkolny.

The classical free state EVENING SCHOOL will help you get the missing education starting from the 6th grade. You yourself will choose a convenient training schedule for yourself: full-time, part-time or part-time form of education.

The main task of the school:

ensuring equal opportunities for the exercise of the constitutional right to receive education to all citizens of Russia, in accordance with their interests and inclinations, regardless of material wealth, place of residence, regardless of educational, national, age qualifications and physical ailments. The school implements this task on the basis of versatility, versatility, flexibility of forms and mode of operation. The school should become a guarantor of the accessibility and genuine democracy of education for EVERYONE, but especially for those who, for various reasons, cannot study in a regular school, provide an opportunity to study for everyone of any age, both working and not working, in a convenient form and in convenient time. The school must, by means of education, promote social protection and psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation of school students. The school should become an effective Center for the socialization of the personality of students.

Fundamentals of the school::

  • recognition of the right to education at any age as one of the most important fundamental human rights;
  • orientation of education to universal values and ideals of humanism;
  • promoting the harmonization of the interests of the individual students and society as a whole;
  • ensuring the availability of quality education and enlightenment for every citizen;
  • taking into account the specifics of the educational needs of various categories of evening school students
  • formation of an integral system of universal knowledge, skills, as well as the experience of independent activity and personal responsibility of students, that is, key competencies that determine the modern quality of the content of education.

    Education as a paramount priority in education is an organic component of pedagogical activity, integrated into the overall process of learning and development.

    The most important tasks of education are the formation of schoolchildren's civic responsibility and legal self-awareness, spirituality and culture, initiative, independence, tolerance, the ability to successfully socialize in society and actively adapt to the labor market.

Who are the students of the school today:

    Adult students who have a long break in their studies, work, and therefore are forced to receive education in the evening. This category of students includes people who have graduated from the 9th grade of secondary school, who are working and have realized that without a complete secondary education, further career growth is impossible. This category also includes housewives caring for children, as well as pregnant women.

    Military personnel undergoing urgent military service in the Dzerzhinsky Division, as well as conscripts and contract soldiers transferred to the reserve, incl. and from hot spots. The motivation of these students is very different, from obtaining knowledge and continuing education in universities to simply obtaining a certificate of education.

    Young people who graduated from vocational schools without a secondary education, as well as expelled from colleges and schools for various reasons. The school has an agreement with colleges of SPO "College of Automation and Radioelectronics" No. 27 and GOU SPO Technological College No. 28 on the transfer of students expelled from there directly to our school.

    Migrants and emigrants receiving education within the framework of the Moscow government's "School of the Russian Language" program. Under this program, official migrants and emigrants arriving in the country receive an intensive Russian language course for 1 academic year for the possibility of further education in state educational institutions. After graduating from the School of the Russian Language, they become students of the ethno-cultural class of our school. Refugees from Afghanistan are currently studying in the ethno-cultural class of the school.

    Adolescents who, for various reasons, are not able to continue their education in a public school. Among the reasons for the impossibility to continue education in a public school, the following prevail:

    • Desire to finish high school quickly (teenagers still choose an external form of education)
    • Conflicts with students or teachers at the school where they studied before
    • Difficult financial situation in the family, forcing a teenager to either go to work and combine work with study in the evening, or in parallel with secondary education in an evening school to receive vocational education

      The so-called "difficult" teenagers who, either because of their deviant behavior or because they are lagging behind in their studies, are trying to get rid of mass day schools.

    People with physical disabilities, disabled people, including military personnel undergoing treatment after injuries received in hot spots, at the Burdenko Hospital

    Persons under investigation in pre-trial detention center SIZO No. 6. These are girls and young women who are highly motivated to study, because bitterly aware of the mistakes they had made. It is school classes, regular and serious, that help them not to lose themselves as a person.

Not every person managed to get at least a general education on time. There is no need to think that night school students are losers or narrow-minded people. Anything could happen in their lives - some in their youth did not understand how important education was in time and messed around in the classroom, someone got married early, sometimes already in childhood someone was forced to work.

Features of evening schools

The evening general education school teaches in the evening. Hence the name. You can get an education there for free if you do not need an intensive shortened course of study. Then the price of education is assigned under an agreement drawn up by the school administration. Thanks to the schedule of classes, you can combine study with work or with other studies, as well as acquire a profession in parallel.

Anyone who is already 15 years old can become a student of this school. Graduates of evening schools are given certificates the same as issued in ordinary schools. Classes are not held every day. Because of this, the regular high school program (10-11) is taught in evening schools for 3 years.

What does the evening school provide?

In the evening school, a student can get a general secondary education if he is serious and has good self-control. After the entry into force in 2014 of the new Law on Education, night schools teach according to the general standards that exist in ordinary day schools. To graduate, all students must pass the Unified State Examination (USE).

Admission process for night school

To enroll in an evening school, you need documents:

  • passport;
  • parental consent (under 18 years of age);
  • certificate of basic education;
  • Photo;
  • medical policy;
  • statement.

Sometimes schools have additional requirements, such as requiring a medical certificate of health.

If you lost your certificate, but could not restore it, you will be given an interview or an entrance test, based on the results of which you will be enrolled.

Among the students of evening schools there are adult working people, young mothers with many children, people who have arrived from other countries and wish to receive an education according to Russian standards. Mature people who have realized the value of education, with difficulty finding time for study, sometimes amaze teachers with a thirst for knowledge, a serious approach and learning results.

Like any educational institution, evening school has its pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Classes are not held every day. Lessons go several times a week. At the same time, the load per lesson is less than in a regular general education school;
  • it's free. According to Article 43 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, everyone has the right to receive a basic general education, and therefore no one will require money for studying at an evening school;
  • can be combined with work. Classes usually start at 17:00. Therefore, after work, it is quite possible to have time for lessons.

Minuses:

  • classes with students of different ages. Both young and old people can study in the class. Therefore, the pace of presentation of the material by the teacher can be both very fast and very slow, you will have to adapt to your classmates;
  • schematic presentation of the material. Due to the fact that the programs follow an accelerated course, it is not always possible for a teacher to focus on a particular topic for a long time;
  • it's not obligatory. Most often, evening schools are attended by adults who have lived enough time without any education and are used to it. So those who have problems with self-discipline will find it difficult to force themselves to attend classes regularly.

As we said above, at the end of the evening school, the student is given a certificate of complete secondary education if he has completed 11 classes, or a certificate of incomplete secondary education if a 9-year course of study is completed. The certificate is a state document and is no different from what is issued in a day school. Therefore, after the "evening" you can continue your studies in any institution.

You can get a profession after 9 classes at a college, technical school or college. For this, it is imperative that the results of the OGE (the main state exam) are not negative. The applicant will need to provide the admission committee with a copy of the passport, a certificate of incomplete secondary education, a certificate with the results of the OGE, an insurance policy, a medical certificate and 3 × 4 photographs. It is also necessary to write an application for admission to this educational institution. As a rule, admission to the budget is based on the results of the OGE and grades for school exams in the certificate. Some specialties require passing an additional internal exam already at the educational institution itself. The grade received for it is also taken into account when an applicant is admitted to the Suz.

After 11 classes, a graduate of an evening school can enter any higher educational institution. To do this, you must pass the Unified State Exam (Unified State Examination) in subjects that are mandatory for the chosen profession, Russian language and mathematics. On the websites of universities there is always a list of subjects required for admission. You need to bring a certificate of complete secondary education, a certificate with the results of the Unified State Examination, a copy of your passport, 6 photos and an application for admission to the selection committee.

Therefore, do not be afraid and worry that the end of the evening school will somehow affect the continuation of education. Graduates of these schools have all the same rights as day school students.

No matter how difficult life is, self-confidence and hard work will help in your studies, give you a chance to make your working career successful.
