FGBOU VPO military medical academy. Military Medical Academy

The Military Medical Academy is the oldest military academy and medical university in the country. It was founded on December 18, 1798 by the Decree of Emperor Paul I and from the moment of its creation it was called the Medical-Surgical Academy.

The Academy was subsequently renamed several times: in 1808 - into the "Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy", in 1881 - into the "Imperial Military Medical Academy".
The history of the Academy for more than two centuries has been immortalized by architectural monuments, buildings, on which the best architects of Russia worked.

Soon after its establishment, the academy was elevated to the rank of "The First Educational Institutions of the Empire" and until 1917 it combined the functions of an educational institution and the Academy of Medical Sciences.
In 1918, the academy began to bear the name "Military Medical Academy", and in 1935 it was renamed the "Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov.

The academy simultaneously performs 3 interrelated functions: educational, scientific and medical-diagnostic.

The Military Medical Academy is the main center for the training of military doctors in terms of the quality of the educational and material base, the provision of clinics with modern equipment and the selection of thematic patients, where training is concentrated in the most high-tech and costly medical specialties of the current nomenclature.

Academy includes:

How does the educational institution of the Military Medical Academy carry out undergraduate and postgraduate training of medical specialists for all types of the Armed Forces, other power structures and civil health care of the Russian Federation, as well as for a number of foreign states. The educational process is conducted in almost the entire spectrum of medical specialties.

The system of training military doctors at the Military Medical Academy is rightfully considered the optimal model of military medical education in the Armed Forces of the country. This is a very time-consuming and long-term process: 6 years of study at the faculties training of doctors with a diploma, then another year in the internship of the academy with a primary specialization.

Undergraduate training of military doctors is carried out at the faculties of primary training: the faculty for training doctors (for the Missile and Ground Forces), the faculty for training doctors (for the Air Force), the faculty for training doctors (for the Navy), the Faculty for the training and improvement of civilian doctors, Faculty of training doctors (military medical specialists of foreign armies).

Postgraduate training is carried out at the Faculty (postgraduate professional and additional education), the Faculty of the leading medical staff, the Faculty for the training and improvement of civilian doctors and the Faculty for the training of doctors (military medical specialists of foreign armies).

The leading, historically established domestic principle of training doctors at the academy involves “learning at the bedside” - the practical assimilation of elements of knowledge and practical skills of professional activity, primarily those included in the category of training programs “To master!” and “Have experience (skill)!”.

An important component of educational activities is the conduct of all types of (educational and industrial) practices at the academy.

In the process of training, cadets and students of the academy participate in a command-staff (tactical-special) military medical exercise under the code name "Frontier", during which issues of organizing the work of medical units for receiving the wounded and sick, providing them with first, medical and qualified medical care, practical skills are acquired as junior medical personnel in subdivisions and parts of the medical service in search and removal of the wounded and sick from the battlefield, loading (unloading) the wounded and sick onto vehicles.

Up to 1000 people take part in the final exercise, conducted on the basis of field training in Krasnoye Selo, more than 20 departments of the academy are involved, from which about 100 teachers, all faculties, representatives of military and civil health care are allocated.

The right to conduct educational activities in the field of higher professional education and issue state diplomas was granted to the Military Medical Academy by license No. 0231 dated October 5, 2010 and accreditation certificate No. 0893 dated April 11, 2011, issued by the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

To date, there are few universities left in Russia that specialize in training doctors for the Armed Forces, and the main one is the Military Medical Academy. S. M. Kirov (VMA, or VMEDA), located in the northern capital.

List of universities

Until recently, the list of military medical universities in Russia included:

  • Samara Military Medical Institute.
  • Saratov Military Medical Institute.
  • Tomsk Military Medical Institute.

But in 2010, these three universities were completely disbanded and remained only in the blessed memory of their graduates and in reference books.

The Nizhny Novgorod Military Medical Institute of the FSB of Russia was more fortunate: in 2007 it was reorganized and merged with the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Employees (IPKKS) of the Federal Security Service of Counterintelligence of the Russian Federation.

In 2011, the renovated university was named the Institute of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (Nizhny Novgorod).

The current list of military medical academies after all the reorganizations and reorganizations looks very modest:

  • Military Medical Academy. S. M. Kirova (St. Petersburg).
  • Branch of the VMA them. Kirov (Moscow).
  • Institute of the FSB of the Russian Federation (Nizhny Novgorod).

School graduates have only one option left for targeted admission for a diploma (and, of course, specific knowledge) of an army doctor - the Kirov Military Medical Academy (VMedA) in St. Petersburg. Its Moscow branch conducts training under the programs:

  • additional vocational education - already certified current employees with secondary and higher medical education;
  • residency.

The branch recruits yesterday's eleventh graders only for the secondary vocational education program "Nursing" on 34.02.01.

The Institute of the FSB accepts physicians for study only after transfer. Candidates for admission can be students who have already completed at least four courses in one of the specialties: "dentistry", "general medicine", "pediatrics", "medical and preventive care" in civilian medical institutes.

Military Medical Academy. Kirov

The university recruits for study not only cadets (for the budget), but future civilian doctors (for paid places). Training of both of them is carried out exclusively in full-time format.

Cadets must comply with a number of conditions:

  • accommodation at the academy during the entire period of training;
  • a limited number of dismissals to the city (in the absence of student debts and disciplinary sanctions);
  • fulfillment of the terms of the contract, according to which the graduate is obliged to work for 5 years according to the distribution of the Ministry of Defense (most of the newly minted army doctors are not sent to the capital's garrisons, hospitals and military units).

For the duration of their studies, cadets of the Military Medical Academy are on state support: they are given seasonal uniforms, sports uniforms, medical gowns and even briefcases with “full ammunition” - atlases, stationery and a tablet loaded with electronic versions of educational literature. Three meals a day on a buffet basis and accommodation in a block-type hostel with double rooms are also free.

Cadets who did not serve in the army before entering the Military Medical Academy are assigned a monetary allowance (similar to scholarships in civilian universities) of 2,000 rubles, after signing the contract, the amount increases to at least 14,000. Excellent students receive increased payments, their annual income is more than 270,000 rubles.

Negotiators learn on different terms. Along with tuition fees, they will have to provide for the cost of accommodation and meals, since they are considered civilians and are not provided with a hostel. Scholarships for paying students are also not allowed. But there is also a plus - freedom of action during and after study.

Faculties, specialties

In the structure of the Military Medical Academy. Kirov 8 faculties:

  • leading medical staff;
  • additional education and residency;
  • doctors training:
    1. navy;
    2. ground, missile and airborne troops;
    3. air force;
  • SPO (secondary vocational education);
  • advanced training for civilian doctors and pharmacists (“7th Faculty”);
  • special faculty for training doctors for foreign armies.

The set of specialties in the VMA is standard for all medical universities:

  • medical business (training period - 6 years);
  • pharmacy (5 years);
  • dentistry (5 years);
  • medical and preventive work (6 years).

Graduates are issued a state diploma of higher education, are awarded the qualification of a doctor or pharmacist and the rank of lieutenant of the medical service. Paramedics under SPO programs study for 3 years and 10 months. As a result, they have a corresponding document on secondary vocational education and the rank of ensign.

Officers of the medical service can complete a two-year master's program in the direction of "Management of Medical Support for Troops".

Paid training

Future civilian medical and pharmaceutical specialists of VMA them. Kirov recruits for study under the contract:

  • in the specialty in three areas: general medicine, pharmacy and dentistry;
  • in residency (about 40 specialties - from obstetrics and gynecology to endocrinology);
  • for additional professional education programs for specialists with higher and secondary professional education.

Tuition fees are set annually. Indicative figures: medical business - 240 thousand per year, dentistry - 250 thousand, pharmacology - 140.

Admission rules

The procedure for entering the Military Medical Academy depends on the format in which the training will take place.

On a budget

The requirements are the same as for admission to military universities:

  1. age limit:
    • 16-22 years for those who did not serve in the army before entering the university;
    • up to 27 years - for those who served under the contract;
    • up to 24 years - for conscripts,
    • up to 30 years - for applicants for SVE programs. Age is considered on August 1 of the year of admission.
  2. No criminal record.
  3. The presence of citizenship of the Russian Federation.
  4. Health status. It is determined on the basis of a medical examination of the military medical commission. Applicants pass mandatory urine and blood tests, do ECG, fluorography and are examined by a surgeon, neurologist, dermatovenereologist, psychiatrist, therapist, ophthalmologist, dentist and otolaryngologist.
  5. The level of physical fitness. For its assessment, applicants pass sports tests. Boys take pull-ups, 100 m run, 3 km cross. For ease of comparison with the results of the exam, the results are displayed in points. The passing minimum for each exercise is 26. The maximum for the level of physical training a future cadet can get is 120 points.
  6. professional suitability. In order to determine it, socio-psychological testing is carried out. It is necessary to identify character traits that can help or, on the contrary, prevent a potential cadet from mastering the profession of a military doctor.

According to the results of the medical examination, physical training exam and psychological testing, applicants are divided into 4 categories of professional suitability: first stage (100% fit for military service); recommended for enrollment in the second place; conditionally recommended; not recommended (the verdict is announced to them on an individual basis).

To enter a military medical university, as well as a civilian one, you will need the results of the Unified State Examination in chemistry, biology and the Russian language. The minimum scores with which you can count on enrolling in the VMA:

  • in the specialty "General Medicine" - 185;
  • medical and preventive work” - 150;
  • pharmacy - 150;
  • dentistry - 185.

When entering the Military Medical Academy (the only military medical university in Russia today that accepts school graduates), the USE scores play an important, but not decisive role. Even with 100 points in each of the three subjects, an applicant may not be selected due to a psychological or physical inadequacy. Nevertheless, with an annual competition of about 30 people per place, high USE results will not interfere.

Non-serving applicants before April 20 submit an application for admission to a military medical university to the military registration and enlistment office, graduates of the cadet corps, Suvorov and Nakhimov schools - to the heads of the educational institution, conscripts and contract soldiers until April 1 - to the commander of a military unit.

Attached to the application:

  • copy of the passport;
  • a photocopy of the birth certificate;
  • a copy of the diploma or certificate (school graduates submit an extract from the report card for the 10th grade and the first half of the 11th grade);
  • Photos of the documents;
  • autobiography;
  • characteristics from the previous place of study, service or work;
  • service certificate of a military man (if any).

The military, who serve under contract in other power ministries, provide the consent of the department to transfer them to study at the Ministry of Defense if they enter the academy.

per contract

Admission to the paid department in the VMA is carried out in 3 specialties - general medicine, pharmacy and dentistry. Contractors do not go through a preliminary rigorous professional selection, they are enrolled according to the competition of the results of the Unified State Examination.

Documents can be handed over personally (or through an authorized representative), sent by mail or using a courier service. The required package includes:

  • documents of mandatory state standard, confirming the availability of the required level of education;
  • photocopy of SNILS;
  • 6 photos of 3 by 4 format with a corner on the right;
  • autobiography;
  • certificate of preventive vaccination (vaccination);
  • a photocopy of a military ID (or registration certificate for conscripts).

Personal data, the results of the exam, along with the direction of study and other necessary information, the applicant indicates in the application, which, along with the rest of the documents, is submitted for consideration by the selection committee.

Admission to the academy girls

There are no restrictions on gender for admission to the civilian faculty of the Military Medical Academy, but the academy began to train girls - military doctors and paramedics only ten years ago, then suspended recruitment, and resumed from 2017. Students can study in two programs:

  • medical business in the ground troops (higher education);
  • medical business (SPO program).

The requirements for female applicants are the same as for boys: the criteria for competitive selection in terms of USE scores and personal achievements, professional suitability, and health status are completely the same. There are minor concessions only when determining the level of physical fitness. Girls applying for the status of a cadet pass the torso, 100-meter race and a 1 km race.

According to the results of the admission campaign last year, 65% of the applicants did not pass the selection due to poor physical training or low USE results. Due to unsatisfactory state of health and lack of professional suitability, only 6% of candidates were weeded out. The competition among female graduates of VMedA is much higher than among boys.

Branch of the Military Medical Academy in Moscow

The capital branch of the military medical academy operates on the basis of military hospitals and departmental sanatoriums in Moscow and is focused on postgraduate training of doctors and education according to vocational programs. The branch has the following levels:

  • medical college, which provides training in the specialty "nursing" (2 years 10 months);
  • residency (2-3 years depending on the specialty);
  • advanced training of military doctors (from 14 days to a year);
  • professional retraining.

Residency training is carried out on the basis of one of the 4 departments: military healthcare management; emergency treatment; integrative and oriental medicine; emergency surgery and oncology. Possible areas of training are therapy, surgery, exercise therapy and sports medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurology, healthcare organization and public health.

The cost of studying in residency is from 90 thousand (exercise therapy and sports medicine) to 180 thousand (neurology; cardiovascular surgery); other specialties - 160 thousand rubles.

Students of civilian medical universities who have completed 4 courses in one of four specialties can enter higher education programs at the VMI FSB for translation: medical and preventive or general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics. Age limit - 27 years. Only boys are accepted.

Enrollment is based on the results of a comprehensive certification, which includes:

  • determination of eligibility for admission for health reasons (applicants undergo a medical examination at the military medical service of the FSB Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region);
  • assessment of progress for 4 completed courses of a medical university (the average score is calculated according to the data from the certificate for the period of study);
  • selection according to fitness level.

If the candidate passed the selection, the military medical institute of the FSB sends a certificate confirming the transfer to the applicant's alma mater within 5 days.

Graduates of the institute, doctors - employees of state security agencies and other law enforcement agencies can enter the residency of the VMI FSB. List of specialties:

  • therapy; surgery; traumatology and orthopedics;
  • pediatrics; obstetrics and gynecology;
  • urology;
  • general practice dentistry;
  • psychiatry;
  • general hygiene; healthcare organization; epidemiology;
  • neurology; . anesthesiology-resuscitation;
  • oncology.

Admission is based on the results of a 60-minute computer testing, consisting of 60 random questions included in the unified database of assessment tools of the Ministry of Health. Alternatively, the admissions committee, at the request of the applicant, may count the result of the test that took place as part of the accreditation procedure in the current or previous year.

Graduates of schools and colleges at the Military Medical Institute of the FSB have access to training at the level of secondary vocational education in the specialty "General Medicine". The conditions for admission are the same as for military doctors - preliminary selection (but not by military registration and enlistment offices, but by state security agencies), medical board, professional selection. Enrollment is carried out according to the average score of the certificate or diploma of the college. Major subjects - Russian, biology, chemistry.

Alternatives

To become a military doctor, you can make a detour tactical maneuver. Its essence lies in the completion of studies at a classical or medical university that has a military department with an appropriate specialty, and the subsequent transition to contract service. There are few such universities, but still they exist.

List of universities that have military departments and training centers with medical specialties:

Where do graduates work?

The issue of employment of graduates of a military medical academy or institute is decided upon admission: the distribution of army doctors is handled by the Ministry of Defense. You must work under the contract for at least 5 years.

Possible places of service:

  • hospitals;
  • polyclinics of the Ministry of Defense;
  • army units and divisions;
  • bureau of forensic medical examination.

Entering a military medical university is not easy, as an option for building a career, you can consider obtaining a doctor's degree in any specialized civilian university, followed by (up to the age of 35) signing a contract for military service. But the future military doctor must be an officer, otherwise it will be possible to work only as a paramedic, medical instructor or nurse (nurse) - these are the positions available to privates, sergeants and warrant officers.

The next military educational institution on the agenda is the Kirov Military Medical Academy.

The two most famous facts: the academy is located in St. Petersburg, and after the military medical academy the best doctors are obtained. At least according to the reviews of those doctors with whom I had a chance to communicate closely.

The institution is prestigious, so let's see if it's easy to get there, and if it's worth it.

Admission

The admission process itself is simple.

Collect all the documents and send them through the military registration and enlistment office to the Academy (preferably in April). Then calmly study at your school in April and May, in June you pass the exam, if everything is in order with the documents, you get a call to the Academy for July.

You come to Krasnoye Selo on a call, live there and pass tests, and if someone doesn’t pass something, they will immediately send him home. And at the end of July you will find out whether you have entered or not.

Timing

Application deadlines for:

  • military personnel - April 01
  • graduates of the Suvorov military schools - April 20
  • citizens residing on the territory of military units outside of Russia - until May 20

A complete set of documents, including a medical card, must be submitted before May 20 (for military personnel until May 15). Training camps begin on 01 and 10 June. The result must be announced no later than July 30.

Entrance tests

Applicants are waiting for a test of knowledge in chemistry, biology and the Russian language. There will also be a health, fitness and fitness check.

In addition to psychological and behavioral aspects, the aptitude test includes questions on the school curriculum of Russian, chemistry and biology. They are not very complex and, in fact, are designed to check the validity of the USE marks.

For physical training, you will need to take a run of 3 km and 100 m, and 30 pull-ups (boys).

How many exam points do you need

The minimum scores are known in advance. In particular, the situation with the Kirov Military Medical Academy is as follows:

You will have to take the Russian language, chemistry, biology. Subject scores are given in this order, separated by a slash:

  • General Medicine 60/65/60
  • Dentistry 60/65/60
  • Medical and preventive business 50/50/50
  • Pharmacy 50/50/50

Once again, these are the minimum scores. If there are more of them, the chances of enrollment increase. Although we remember that even excellent USE scores do not guarantee admission to a military university.

Without blat?

Many alumni refer to the place as "father-son academy." Nevertheless, it is quite possible to do it from the street.

Do they take girls?

This is a serious issue, almost about gender discrimination. The military department believes that only men should be military doctors. How else to explain that the recruitment of girls here is carried out only “According to the programs of secondary vocational education
with secondary military special training "- a quote from the website of the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Moreover, it must be understood that even if this is the situation of the permitted enrollment of girls in military universities for 2018 (enrollment of girls in military universities in 2018), but this practice was before ().

That is, a nurse or paramedic - please, but becoming a super doctor or moving science is not about you. It's a shame? Naturally. But you have to choose from what they give. Still, a number of military universities take girls to higher specialized education.

But there are no others, namely military medical universities, in the recruitment for 2018. That is, there is no choice, either according to the secondary education program, or to wait, all of a sudden, something will change next year. And we remember that the age for entering military universities is limited.

Either you go for money to a civil higher education, it is here. For example, a paid civil tower for medicine costs 160-200 thousand rubles a year, for dentistry 210 thousand rubles a year. Plus, there will be expenses for accommodation and meals, because civilians are not provided with a hostel.

But even if there is money, then dreamed about in a military education, right?

Pay attention to the military aspect!

Future medical students, pay attention. Some of the guys from the civilians are mistaken, believing that, in fact, they are entering a medical university with the highest quality education.

This is not true. This is primarily a military educational institution. So, you need to be ready for military discipline and rules, for example:

  • barracks mode for the 1st and 2nd year (dismissals to the city no more than 3 times a day in the absence of debts, penalties, etc., life in the barracks, organized meals, exercises, canteen outfits, etc.)
  • sign a contract, according to which you will have to work for 5 years where they will be sent, but they are sent far, and rarely to prestigious places. They will distribute it well only if you are “your own” or an excellent student of study and behavior without a single reprimand for the whole time, and this is a maximum of 1-2 people from the course
  • you can’t earn extra money on an ambulance, as students of other medical universities do

But all this undoubtedly pays off with the level of teaching.

The history of the Military Medical Academy named after S. M. Kirov has more than 200 years. For more than two centuries, thousands of highly qualified specialists have graduated from the walls of the university, saving a huge number of human lives. Many graduates have become outstanding doctors and scientists in the field of modern medicine.

The building of the Military Medical Academy. CM. Kirov (date of formation December 29, 1798)

Story

The Military Medical Academy was established on December 18, 1798 by decree of Emperor Paul I. Then it was the Medical and Surgical School for the training of medical personnel, later the school was renamed the Academy, and under Emperor Alexander I in 1808 the Academy became Imperial.

In addition to medical education, the history of higher veterinary and pharmaceutical education in Russia began from the Academy. It was the first scientific, educational and medical center in the history of the country, the first medical manuals and textbooks began to be published here, the academy became a forge of professors of medical sciences for various universities.

From 1808 to 1838, the head of the medical academy was J. V. Willie, an outstanding physician, originally from Scotland. He made an invaluable contribution to the development of military medicine in Russia and devoted more than 50 years to the position of chief inspector of medicine in the emperor's army. It was in the military academy in the period from 1841 to 1856 that the outstanding surgeon N. I. Pirogov worked, who became the founder of a new era in practical medicine and education. In the golden age of the educational institution, great doctors worked within the walls of the academy, such as I. P. Pavlov, V. M. Bekhterev, N. S. Korotkov, S. P. Botkin, I. M. Sechenov, N. N. Zinin and other.

After the defeat in the Crimean War in the period from 1853 to 1856, the tsarist government decides to rename the academy into the Military Medical Academy - Vmed, this happened in 1881. According to the new rules, the educational process of the educational institution became more militarized; from that moment on, the academy was engaged in the training of doctors and surgeons for the military and naval departments. Veterinary medicine and pharmaceuticals were excluded from the structure of the academy. The doctors of the academy made many medical discoveries and inventions during the First World War and during the Russo-Japanese War.

After the revolution of 1917, a large part of the teaching staff of the academy left the country, but there were also those who supported the power of the Soviets, among them I.P. Pavlov, the head of the academy V.N. Tonkov, S.P. Fedorov and others. The doctors of the educational institution assisted the wounded at the front during the war with the White Guard, continued to teach at the departments and conducted medical practice in the hungry post-revolutionary years in conditions of complete devastation.

After the 20th year of the last century, the educational process at the Academy began to focus mainly on special military medical disciplines, for example, military hygiene courses, organizational and tactical disciplines.

During the Great Patriotic War, more than 1,800 military doctors were graduated, many of whom died on the fronts. At the beginning of the war, many teachers and professors of the academy headed the medical services and units on the front line. In 1941, the academy was relocated from Leningrad to Samarkand and returned to its permanent location only in 1944 after the blockade was lifted.

In 1954, for merits in the training of military medical personnel and the development of medicine, the Academy was awarded the Order of Lenin, and in 1968, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the USSR Armed Forces, the educational institution was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. Professors and lecturers of the academy, as well as hundreds of graduates, made a great contribution to the organization of medical support during the years of the armed conflict in Afghanistan. Medical officers from among the graduates of the academy participated in military conflicts in Vietnam, Korea, Serbia and other countries.

25 out of 112 buildings of the Military Medical Academy are included in the list of historical and cultural heritage by decision of UNESCO and are under state protection. Also on the territory of the educational institution there are many monuments of famous sculptors. Since December 17, 1998, by decree of the President of Russia, the Military Medical Academy named after S. M. Kirov has been included in the valuable cultural heritage sites of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
