In 1976, by decision of the Bryansk Regional Executive Committee, the medical school was transferred from the city of Starodub to the city of Novozybkov and housed in the building of the former biological faculty of the Pedagogical Institute.
In 1977, along with the nursing department, a second, paramedical department was opened at the medical school, and in 1989 the first group of students in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry" was recruited.
