Location of all QR codes on Chicago map

Someone possibly a member of DedSec!? has hidden parts of the QR code all over the city of Chicago, we need to collect all 16 parts of this code to unlock the special task. Each part of the QR code will store an audio file from which we can learn new details in the investigation.

Brandon Docks area

1. On the other side across the river we find a building with a camera, connect to the camera, turn it to the left to the building with the code and crack the code on the building.

2. The code is on the wall on the building, behind the boats. on the opposite side, hack the camera, turn it to the right and connect to the camera a little further away from it and you can crack the code.

3. We go to the pedestrian viaduct There we connect to the camera on the corner of a small building below it. This camera will show the code at the factory.

Area Words

1. On the boat we swim to the closed gate to the second span, and there we find the camera on the corner. It will be opposite the QR code. Let's activate it.

2. We get up near the building next to the building with our code. Across the road, we connect to the camera in the weapons store from it to the opposite tall building and activate the code through the top of the roof.

Area Parker Square

1. Here everything is just facing the code, behind us there will be a camera directly opposite it, we connect to it and listen to the audio recording.

2. We run into the alley that is opposite the code, there will be a camera on the left, we connect to it, the code will be visible through the top of the building, we listen to another audio recording.

Area Loop

1. We get up one building from the building with the train route code on the corner of the house there will be a camera, connect to it and crack the next code.

2. On the opposite bank from the code under the bridge, connect to the camera on the bridge support and crack another QR code.

3. On the opposite side of the code through the iron tracks of the train there will be a camera on the building, we connect to it, from there you can find another code.

4. We run into the lane between the houses, we find the camera on the wall and the code will be visible from it.

Pawnee area

1. We climb to the construction site, there will be cameras on the poles, first we connect to the camera of one pole and then to another camera opposite the sign, from there the code will be visible.

District Mad Mile

1. We get up near the building diagonally in the screenshot it is shown we are connected to the camera from there the code is visible.

2. On the opposite side of the highway in the center of the house, we find a surveillance camera, connect to it and see a QR code from it.

3. We get up across the road from the code on the right, connect to the camera, turn it to the left and connect to another camera, the code will be visible from it.

After we find all the codes, the dude from DedSec will call us on the phone. We leave for the Mad Mile area to the place that he indicates to complete the task. Behind the building we break open a difficult shield. The shield is complicated, but I think you can handle it yourself. After hacking, we look through the camera at the hacker and fill in the DedSec virus.

On this, the entire task is completed, the hacker is trolled.

There are a total of 16 QR Code Locations and 1 QR Code Investigation Mission in Watch Dogs.
Finding all QR Codes will unlock the mission and completing the mission will earn you the Read-only Trophy / Achievement. You will also get a new weapon (Tommy Gun) as a reward. To reveal the code locations on your map you must unlock all ctOS towers. The displayed locations aren’t very accurate though and you must find one specific surveillance camera and look at the QR Code from a certain angle. The correct camera is sometimes far away, or can only be activated from an elevated position.

All Codes are saved automatically when you find them. None of them are missable and you can still get them in free roam after beating the story. They are also a requirement for the “They Call Him The Vigilante” Trophy and Achievement.

While playing in the world that is Watch Dogs, you may have came across these black and white squares posted on various places. Perhaps on walls or overpasses? What are these?

These are QR Codes left by the infamous hacker "Giggles," and each of these has a message once you take a photo of it. Each QR Code has been placed in 2-3 sections, so typically you"re only looking at only a piece of it. In order to view it properly, you"ll need to line up the image properly with the city cameras.

Note: There are 16 QR Code Locations and each have a special Audio Log thanks to Giggles. Upon discovering all 16, a secret mission is unlocked to capture him.

Secret Mission - Find the Hacker:

The location of the hacker"s apartment is in the Mad Mile City District and is identified as Ducky Epstein aka "G1gg1L3s." Note: All 16 QR Codes have to be discovered and unlocked. The ctOS Control Center : Mad Mile must be unlocked as well for completion.

Upon reaching Giggles" apartment, you must hack into his mainframe, upload a virus and then leave while listening to a message from DedSec. The picture below will help you to hack his mainframe since it is not an easy one to do.

Upon successful completion, you"ll receive Mission Rewards (Investigation) Hacker Trolled: Reputation Gain +1,000; and Mission Rewards (Unlocks) Gangster (Weapon) and Complete Act II//11: Stare into the Abyss; and Complete QR Codes: Read -Only (Achievement).

The red markings on the map above point you to the locations where you can find a QR code, whereas the green ones mark the spots, where there are cameras that you need to use to scan the code.

There are many QR codes in the city, on building walls and the other objects. Each one is a challenge, whose completing unlocks an additional mission connected with the DedSec hacker group. The locations are marked on the map after you unlock the ctOS towers for a given region (apart from one, located in the Pawnee district). On the map, there are 17 codes, where the 17th becomes available after you have scanned the remaining 16. Then, you get a phone call, after which the location of the extra mission becomes available on the map. Each code also adds a special audiolog to your collection. Scanning all of the codes and completing the extra mission is required to complete the game in 100%.

An example QR code

The QR codes marked on the map, in a given area, are distributed among several objects. You need to find the exact spot, from which, after you look in the direction of the code, you will see the whole, in the form of the full square. Here, there is always a camera which you need to use to scan the code, after you hack into it. For each code, there is only one, exclusive camera, which will scan the code correctly - you will then see a red rhomb displayed on the screen that informs you of the option to scan the code. Below, you can find a list of all of the QR codes, along with their descriptions, which point you to the correct camera and the image that shows, which signifies that the scan is ready to be performed.
