A short story according to the proverb measure seven times. Short stories with proverbs

One young girl imagined herself a skilled dressmaker and decided to sew a beautiful dress for the ball. She came to the shop, saw a wonderful blue satin and decided that a beautiful outfit would come out of it. The saleswoman asks her: “How much should you measure?” The girl did not know exactly, but decided that a meter was enough for her. She came home, began to cut, but she did not have enough material. She went back to the shop and asked for another meter of that atlas. I continued to work at home, but again there was not enough material - just a little bit, for shuttlecocks. And what a ball gown without flounces! She went back to the shop, and the saleswoman told her that that blue satin had run out. The girl decided not to give up and thought that she would sew another dress, made of green velvet. This time she bought enough fabric, but for a long time she could not finish the work: either she would buy few buttons, then there was not enough lace, then the threads would run out, then the needles would not be the same.

So she did not have time to sew the outfit in time.

That's why they say: "Measure seven times, cut once." Before completing a complex task, you need to think through everything well, prepare, and then get to work.

The story about the seed
Story by: Iris Revue

listen to the story

Once Masha and Vanya found a small seed. It did not know how to speak, and the guys did not know what could grow out of it. They were still in elementary school, and they had not yet had to deal with seeds. Grandfather once read them a fairy tale about a tiny magic seed from which a golden ear grew. The children really wanted to know what would grow from the found seed, and asked their grandfather about it. But Grandpa didn't know. The next morning, Masha and Vanya came up with this. They took a small rag, wet it with warm water and put a seed in it so that the sprout would hatch as soon as possible. The sprout appeared rather quickly, and the children planted it in the ground. All the time, while the days were warm, they ran and checked how the plant feels, not forgetting to water it. And grandfather said that it’s not worth rushing things, and recalled the Russian proverb: “Everything in due time: the time will come, the seed will grow.”

"Helpers" story

The day off was gray and boring. I didn't want to do anything. At first, Mishka and I dreamed, then we tried to do our homework. But we decided to leave this matter until tomorrow. The game also somehow did not stick. In chess, we lost a piece, and for a long time we were looking for it around the apartment. But she didn't get caught. Then we sat on the couch, and it seemed to both of us that we felt somehow wrong.

Mom offered to help her clean up the balcony. It was not interesting, but we agreed. It was necessary to put things in order in the tools, building materials left after the repair, and neatly fold the old toys. How to make everything so compact and beautiful? Mishka and I thought for a long time about what and how to put it. Finally the balcony was tidied up. The mood became wonderful, but we completely forgot about the headache. And my mother told us: “A person gets sick from laziness, but healthier from work.”

About helping mom

The help of the mother from the side of the children is necessary. Mom is a person who needs to do a hundred things: cook food, put things in order in the apartment, harvest crops at the dacha, clean up the garden, work with children, wash, stroke ... But mom also works! Under these conditions, the help of her children is vital. Yes, children are learning to work. Look closely at your moms: maybe they need your help?

Antonova Veronika Alexandrovna
Fairy tale "Measure seven times, cut once."

lived was one Hare. And this Hare was a cheerful, kind fellow, he willingly took up any business, but he didn’t like to understand the matter for a long time ...

One once his stool broke, and the scythe decided to make himself a new, good one.

Here the Hare picked up an ax, a saw, a hammer and nails, one, two - and, you're done! The stool came out great, but ... since the Hare did not think for a long time and did not measure the length of the legs properly, one leg turned out to be longer than the others.

BUT, - said Hare, - and so it will do.

Here one once his friend Hedgehog came to visit the Hare. They sat down to drink tea, the Hare put the samovar and cups on the table.

Wait, dear friend, - Hare said to the Hedgehog- Now I will treat you to such a delicious jam that you have never tried before!

With these words, the Hare stood on a stool and climbed for the jam, which stood on the very top shelf of the cabinet. But, since the stool swayed strongly (one of its legs was longer than all the others), the Hare could not resist and fell to the floor with a big roar. What was there! The jar of jam also fell and broke, the jam spread all over the floor, and Zaichik himself hit his head very hard, so that a huge bump jumped on his forehead!

Nasty stool! - shouted oblique, - oh, oh, how painful!

The hedgehog helped the unfortunate man to his feet, and even helped to clean up the broken pieces and spilled jam from the floor.

It’s the stool’s fault for everything, she threw me off, ”complained the Hare.

Well, let me see, - asked the Hedgehog. And everyone knows that the Hedgehog was a jack of all trades. - Yes, your stool has one leg longer than the other! That's why you fell off it!

How did you measure the boards like that?

And I didn’t measure them at all, ”the Hare admitted. - What for? I have slanted eyes...

The hedgehog began to groan and assure his comrade that it is always necessary to do everything exactly, otherwise you will always fall and get bumps on your head.

-Measure seven times, cut once, – he said.

Yes, I will quickly fix everything right now, - said oblique and ran hopping after the saw.

And he shortened the long leg of the stool, again without measuring anything.

That's all! - the Hare was delighted.

But for some reason the stool staggered again ...

What a disobedient!

hedgehog carefully examined the work and said:

Freak! Now you've made it too short!

No problem! - the Hare reassured him, and began to level the other three legs on this one ...

But his creation again did not want to stand exactly.

Eh, eh, master, - the Hedgehog just shook his head.

But the Hare no longer listened to the Hedgehog. He sawed and sawed… At first, three legs were longer than the other, the fourth leg, but as soon as he filed them, it turned out that now they were shorter, and the other one was longer than all the others… So he sawed for a whole hour, until from the legs, alas, almost nothing left. The stool has become low, low, and instead of legs there are only small uneven stumps ... Who will sit on such a one?

What did you get, brother? – asked Hare Hedgehog.

The hare scratched the back of his head and spread out his hands ... Finally, he stopped and saw what he had done.

I don't understand how it happened.

I'll have to give you something that no one can do without. one real master! - the Hedgehog said mysteriously, - but remember that this thing is magical.

And the next day, the Hedgehog brought the Bunny ... A LINE!

Keep it and take care, it will come in handy many times! - said Hedgehog- but most importantly, remember - measure seven times, cut once!

The wisdom of the proverb “Measure seven times - cut once” lies in the fact that you must first think about the matter, double-check your arguments, and then act. You can measure as many times as you like, but cutting off, you will not change anything else. A proverb of the ages, expressing worldly wisdom, the wisdom of generations. It is necessary to provide for all options for resolving the problem, not to cut hastily.

For example, when I go to the store after school, I always pick up sweets: chocolate, cookies, ice cream. Arriving home, I sort out my purchases and understand that I have become a victim of marketing. I absolutely do not need these products. You need to be able to turn on common sense and mind in time, so as not to waste money in vain. If in the store I had thought about the need for these products, I would not have taken them, which means I would not have spent extra money.

And how many such cases have there been when you argue, prove your case, and then it turns out that you are wrong. An unpleasant aftertaste remains inside, but you just had to think, and then enter into an argument or not.

Yes, there are situations that require an immediate decision, but if you have time to think, then you need to use it.

Any responsible business requires reflection, weighing all the pros and cons. It is necessary to solve any issue deliberately, to approach the situation with responsibility, with numerous assumptions about the outcome of the event. When the deed is done, it will be too late to measure.

We are reasonable people, endowed with a mind and intellect, which helps us rationally approach the solution of a problem. After all, if you do everything in a hurry, then you can hurry - people laugh. It is enough to always be collected, ready for any business and prudent in your thoughts. Nobody canceled deduction and common sense. To achieve high results, you need to be able to predict the result, spontaneous decisions often do not lead to a good ending.

When we write a dictation, I always wonder if I put the punctuation marks correctly, whether I inserted the right letter instead of dots, because a few of my hasty mistakes will lead to an unsatisfactory grade for me. Besides, I will worry until I know the result. After handing over the notebook, I can no longer fix anything. And if I hadn’t been in a hurry, analyzed my decisions, then there would have been no reason to worry - I would have known that I wrote the text correctly.

This is how I understand the proverb: "Measure seven times - cut once."

A proverb is a small, complete statement that was formed as a result of people's observations of actions and their consequences. It is designed to prevent people from making mistakes. Since the proverb is a genre of UNT, it represents folk wisdom acquired by experience. Each statement can be taken literally, but most often it is used in a figurative sense.

"Measure seven times, cut once" - the meaning of the proverb

The main meaning of this proverb is that you should not rush when working. The origins of this proverb go back to sewing, which required precision when cutting products: it is better to spend extra time measuring details than to ruin a thing. Over time, the proverb has acquired a broader meaning, which is applicable to almost any job, since qualities such as:

  • accuracy;
  • slowness;
  • accuracy;
  • attentiveness.

"Measure seven times, cut once" - a case from life

For the rest of my life I remember a case from childhood, which clearly reflects the meaning of this proverb.

The new school year was coming soon, and the only thing that occupied my parents' thoughts was how to get me ready for school. Summer flew by unnoticed, there were only a few days left to put everything in order. Mom was especially worried about the school uniform, which had not yet been bought, since we could not find the right size anywhere. In one store we were offered a uniform: it was good for everyone, only the legs were a little long. "It's nothing," said my mother. "We'll cut it." I didn’t doubt my mother, and my father asked: “Maybe I should give it to the studio?” But mom didn’t even listen: “Here’s another thing! There are two minutes of work!”

As soon as we arrived home, my mother immediately set to work. She deftly put her pants on me, noted something, and then cut it off. But when I put on a new thing, it turned out that my pants were short. Mom was horrified.

Then the grandmother explained that this is not such a simple matter: you need to measure the length of the legs, both trousers, compare and then cut off, and not act "by eye".
