Geographical position
City Ternovka located on the right bank of the Samara River at the confluence of the Ternovka River, on the opposite bank of the Samara River - the city of Pavlograd, on the opposite bank of the Ternovka River - the village of Bogdanovka (Pavlogradsky District). The rivers in this place are meandering, forming estuaries, oxbow lakes and marshy lakes.

On the territory of Ukraine there are 18 settlements with the title Ternovka.
Story
- Ternovka was founded in 1775, when, by order of the Azov governor, dense thickets of blackthorn were cut down and a settlement was founded. After 3 years, there were already 116 households and 2 guilds of warriors in the settlement.
- In the aftermath of the Great Patriotic War, exploration of the coal reserves of the Western Donbass began, deposits of coal were discovered in the vicinity of Ternovka. In 1959, the first tons of coal were mined at the Ternovskaya exploration mine put into temporary operation. In 1964, the 1st industrial mine was built, the next year the construction of the giant West-Donbass mine began. A village developed around the mines. In the same year, Ternovka received the status settlement.
- In 1976, the urban-type settlement received the status city. Since 1990 - a city of regional significance.

But the French entered, and Pierre still did not leave the door: irresistible curiosity held him back.
There were two of them. One is an officer, a tall, brave and handsome man, the other is obviously a soldier or a batman, a squat, thin, tanned man with sunken cheeks and a dull expression on his face. The officer, leaning on a stick and limping, walked ahead. Having taken a few steps, the officer, as if deciding with himself that this apartment was good, stopped, turned back to the soldiers standing in the doorway and in a loud commanding voice shouted to them to bring in the horses. Having finished this business, the officer with a gallant gesture, raising his elbow high, straightened his mustache and touched his hat with his hand.
Bonjour la compagnie! [Respect to the entire company!] – he said cheerfully, smiling and looking around. Nobody answered.
– Vous etes le bourgeois? [Are you the boss?] – the officer turned to Gerasim.
Gerasim looked inquiringly at the officer in fright.
