Minsk ring road map m 3. Main road interchanges

MKAD- Minsk ring road, the length of which is 56.2 km. Another name for this road is the M9 highway. The borders of the Minsk highway practically coincide with the administrative line of the capital. The road surface is asphalt concrete.

MKAD: history

1956-1963 - the period of construction of the Moscow Ring Road. Initially, the Minsk Highway had the category of the third highway with a carriageway width of 7.5 m and one lane in each direction. The reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road began in 1980, which resulted in the construction of roads of the 1st category (26.8 km) and two-lane roads of the 2nd category (29.4).

In the late 90s. In the 20th century, the Moscow Ring Road could no longer withstand the loads and large traffic. One of the reasons was the presence of public transport stops with small distances between them, one-level intersections with other roads, and traffic lights. Therefore, since 2001, the second wave of the road reconstruction began, which ended on November 7, 2002.

Minsk ring road in modern times

The main characteristics of the Minsk Ring Road at the present time:

  • The first category of the road.
  • 6 traffic lanes.
  • The width of the carriageway is 29 m.
  • The road is equipped with lamps, noise barriers (2.4 km), double-sided barrier fences (100 km), road measuring stations with sensors and electronic scoreboards, overpasses and underpasses (22).
  • There are no single-level intersections, traffic lights, ground crossings.
  • Throughput - 85,000 vehicles per day.
  • Since 2014, traffic at a speed of 100 km/h has been allowed on some sections of the Moscow Ring Road. However, in order to prevent accidents, according to existing standards, the safe speed on the Minsk Highway is 90 km/h.

Introduction

Reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road

Minsk Ring Road (MKAD, highway M9) - a highway in Minsk, passing approximately along the administrative border of the city. The length of the route is 56.2 kilometers.

1. History

The construction of the Minsk Ring Road began in 1956 and was completed in 1963. Initially, it belonged to the third category of roads, had one lane in each direction, and the width of its carriageway was 7.5 meters. In 1980, the reconstruction of the Minsk Ring Road began, 26.8 kilometers of a four-lane road of the first category were built, the remaining 29.4 kilometers - of the second category with two lanes.

2. Current situation

By the end of the 1990s, the road could no longer cope with the increased load: traffic intensity reached 16-18 thousand cars per day, while the road had level crossings, traffic lights, and shuttle bus stops. In this regard, on August 7, 2001, an order of the President of Belarus was signed on the reconstruction of the road. The work was ordered to be completed by November 2002.

The reconstructed highway was opened on November 7, 2002. Currently, the Minsk Ring Road is a first-class road with six lanes. The width of the road is 29 meters, lighting lamps are installed along its entire length and there are no traffic lights, intersections and left turns in the same level. The capacity of the road is 85 thousand cars per day. The estimated speed at the roundabout is 120 km/h, but the current speed limit is 90 km/h. Such a restriction had to be introduced due to frequent accidents when crossing the road in the wrong place, despite the fact that more than 50 places for crossing (underground or elevated crossings) were organized, and a two-sided barrier fence was installed along the entire length of the road along its axis.

There are three road measuring stations on the Moscow Ring Road: sensors are installed in the carriageway that read the condition of the pavement, dew point, wind speed and direction, visibility, air temperature and other parameters. All this information is transmitted to the central control room, where a decision is made on the treatment of the coating with anti-icing materials. The sensors also take into account the speed and intensity of traffic. And the information for drivers is displayed on the electronic scoreboard.

During the reconstruction of the road, 680 thousand tons of asphalt concrete were laid, 100 kilometers of barrier fencing, 2.4 kilometers of noise barriers were installed, 24 traffic interchanges, 30 bridges and overpasses, 6 elevated and 16 underground pedestrian crossings were built. 1600 road signs and 3 weather stations have been installed.

As of 2006, peak traffic on the road reached 50,000 vehicles per day. Cars and minibuses make up 93.4 percent of the total flow of traffic on the road, 5.8 percent are trucks and road trains, and 0.8 percent are buses. 13.3 percent of cars pass at a speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour along the ring road, 53.4 percent - up to 90 kilometers per hour, 33.3 percent exceed the established speed of 90 kilometers per hour.

In the first years after the commissioning of the Moscow Ring Road, about 40 people died annually on it, the measures taken made it possible to reduce the number of deaths annually to 10-13.

MKAD-2 - Minsk Ring Road 2. The official name is the M14 highway. The highway is located 8 - 22 km from the M9 highway (MKAD). The road surface is cement concrete. The number of lanes is 4 (two in each direction). The width of the roadbed is 15 meters.

Upon completion of construction, the length of the highway will be more than 160 km. 11 multi-level interchanges will appear along the entire route of the route. The estimated speed on the new highway will be 120 km/h. It is planned that in the future the second MKAD will pass 20 thousand cars daily.

MKAD-2 map

The need for the project is a competent redistribution of traffic flows near the capital. It is believed that the construction of MKAD-2 will make it possible to unload the ring road (M9), direct transit flows around Minsk and implement the most convenient trans-European transport corridor through Belarus.

According to experts, the shift in traffic flow will have a good impact on the environmental situation of the capital, and will also stimulate attention to the development of satellite cities. By the way, the route was laid at a distance from settlements, gardening associations and without demolition of buildings.

True, not everyone is positive about the construction of MKAD-2. Skeptics note that the highway 15 km from the capital will not pull the flow of motorists. Moreover, the main cluster of logistics centers is concentrated in the capital and the nearest suburbs, and therefore the new "concrete" is not suitable even for transit.

History of construction of MKAD 2

The large-scale project was agreed in 2010. However, the economic crisis has introduced its own rules of the game. Construction had to be suspended for a while. It was only in 2014 that the construction was restored. Already on December 22, 2016, the President of Belarus announced the readiness of the final stage of the MKAD-2. From this day, traffic is available along the entire length of the route. The construction of the M14 highway cost Belarus 507.1 million denominated rubles.

The main figures of MKAD-2:

  • As part of the project, 88.4 km of a new highway was built, and another 72 km of existing roads were modernized. The total length of the ring is more than 160 km;
  • Permitted speed: 120 km/h for cars and 100 km/h for trucks;
  • Traffic is organized in 4 lanes;
  • The width of the roadway is 15 meters;
  • Coating thickness - 24 cm;
  • Throughput -20 thousand cars per day;
  • There are 11 multi-level interchanges on the highway;
  • Distance of the route from the Moscow Ring Road (M9) - from 8 to 22 km;
  • The service life of "concrete" is 25 years (wear resistance is 2 times higher than that of asphalt pavement);
  • The project cost 507.1 million denominated rubles.

The new MKAD-2, or M14, is officially opened by the president on December 22. We met the deadline, as promised - until January 1, 2017. the site visited the highway before the head of state cut the ribbon and looked at how the highway was being prepared for the arrival of distinguished guests.

The president's arrival is scheduled for the MKAD-2 section, which starts from the R-1 highway (Dzerzhinsky direction) and reaches the M-1 / E-30 road (Brest-Moscow interchange). This is the fifth stage of the second part of the construction of MKAD-2.

It was almost impossible to get to this segment a day before the visit of the head of state: the movement of cars is prohibited, at the entrance on both sides there are plastic fences and a prohibitory “brick”. An exception is for cars of road services, whose employees put things in order.

We are from Vileyka. We dig in the landmarks, they should stand every 100 meters. This is so that drivers can see where the roadway ends and not drive into a ditch,” said the woman, the head of the section, who, together with her colleague, trampled holes in the ground with frozen clods. “But it’s almost all done here, so we’ll be leaving for home soon. We will not work in the dark.

Equipment was rushing back and forth along the new concrete road: road workers leveled the shoulders, washed the road and the fenders, swept the lanes. Passenger cars drove past every now and then, in the cabin of which men in bright road vests sat, and carefully looked out of the windows at the progress of work.

Well, we washed everything. Water? We also have water. Where to go? - the road worker shouts on his mobile phone, who has just washed the fenders and stopped for a smoke break for a couple of minutes. - Oh, you have to go...

Very close to the "construction of the century" is a small village Shpilki. During the construction of MKAD-2, heavy machinery drove along it, which caused particular dissatisfaction among local residents. Now only their own cars drive along Shpilki, and even then rarely - no fuss.

— Oh, for us, when they built this Moscow Ring Road, they broke the road for good. Some people jumped to us at the dzareun, so they said: “There is such a movement, more, than in Minsk.” We’ve been here, you can’t open your mouth - the sand at your throat is lying, - a local resident recalls recent events Evgenia Nikolaevna.

But the woman is not offended by the road builders - since they were building, it means that it was necessary.

- At once the asphalt was palady for us, the workers fell asleep, there was a cab shrey. Saved what the Muggles. And the Moscow Ring Road is for vadzіtsely, maybe, and treba, who knows. My son said that the way is near Minsk, where the pit is needed, the karatseysh are on the chatyrnazzats for a kilometer. Ale, I'm all lost. Twice, for my nanny, I ride the electric train to the house of God. Yes, the stations go more for two kilometers.

Grandmother said that you also need to go to the bus stop in the neighboring village of Grichino - buses do not go along MKAD-2 near their village.

But the residents of the village of Sukhodoly were not worried about the construction of the MKAD-2: heavy vehicles did not go through their village, so the road was not restored to them - as there was a gravel road, in some places it remained in the pits.

- I'm not going to travel along MKAD-2 - there is no such need. Although the road is good: my son and I somehow swept along it,” a local resident said. Marina. — I work in Minsk. To get to work, I, along with my fellow villagers, walk about two kilometers to the old Stankovskaya road, and from there I take a minibus. And MKAD-2, since it was built, probably, someone needs it. One thing is bad - we used to go to the forest for berries, but now, because of the ring road, its main part is behind the road. There is no underground passage, and in the middle of the road there is a fence ...

How much money was spent on the construction of the century

The large-scale construction was first discussed in 2010, and in 2011 some earthworks even began. However, an unexpected crisis has suspended construction. The need for a new ring road was raised again in early 2014. The new MKAD-2 was supposed to unload Minsk from the flow of cars, improve the environment in the city. Then the head of state said that there would be MKAD-2.

« We must immediately begin work on the construction of a second ring road around Minsk so that the city does not suffocate in this mud, so that 2 million people, a quarter of the population of our country, do not feel this problem. It must be borne in mind that from this and all diseases. And we will have to pay big money in order to treat people. This should not be forgotten either."

The road was built in two stages. At the first stage, a section was erected from the M-3 Minsk-Vitebsk highway to the M-6 Minsk-Grodno highway. The first section was opened by Alexander Lukashenko.

“We started building this road just in time. This is salvation for Minsk, for Minsk residents, and we must complete this ring road by 2017. We do not intend to stop, no matter how much we want to - this is our face! Whether we like it or not" the president said at the time.

At the second stage of construction, the M-6 Minsk-Grodno highway was connected to the M-1/E-30 Brest-Minsk-Russian border highway. The main work on laying concrete on this site was carried out by workers as early as mid-September 2016. But the concrete needed to “ripen” and gain strength. In October-November, workers laid additional asphalt along the median strip, at roadsides, ramps and interchanges, installed barrier fences, signs, noise screens, animal screens, and light panels to inform drivers about the situation on the road.

According to the site, the cost of construction of MKAD-2 cost the country 507.1 million denominated rubles. About 297.1 million denominated rubles were allocated for the first section, 210 million denominated rubles went to the second section of MKAD-2. The object was financed at the expense of the republican budget, the state target budget fund for national development and a loan from the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

According to preliminary calculations, the intensity of traffic along the new ring road will be 4.5 thousand cars per day. It will increase due to a decrease in the load on the first ring road.

It is worth reminding motorists once again that the speed limit on certain sections of the Moscow Ring Road-2 this winter will be limited to 70 km/h, and on previously open sections to 120 km/h. This is due to the fact that concrete cannot be treated with salt - this will increase the life of the road up to 10-15 years.

Only numbers

The length of the road under construction— 88.4 km, the total length of the ring — more than 160 km (taking into account the existing sections M2 Minsk — Minsk National Airport and P80 Sloboda — Papernya)

Number of lanes- 4 (2 in each direction)

Roadway Width- 15 meters, the total width of the road with a dividing strip and reinforced shoulders - from 22 meters

Perspective traffic intensity— about 20 thousand cars per day

Number of transport interchanges- 11 (in different levels)

Remoteness of the route from the Moscow Ring Road– from 8 to 22 km

When we left MKAD-2, dusk began, which made it impossible to take a look at the completed object. Only the orange beacons of the road machinery indicated that some work would be carried out here even in the dark. The construction site of the century is opening today.

On Tuesday, the first section of the second ring road around Minsk, which received the designation M14, was solemnly opened. Even before Lukashenka cut the red ribbon, the KP correspondent drove along the new highway and saw how convenient it was.

Automotive construction of the century - as many called the construction of this route. Exactly a year ago, the first pilot kilometer of the new road was shown to the president. Thousands of workers worked daily at the construction site.

Already on Tuesday, a piece from the Ostroshitsky town (this is on the Logoisk highway) to the "Stalin Line" (on Molodechnoskaya) is opened for traffic - only 27 kilometers. Two days before the opening, the last preparatory work is being carried out here: not only builders and road workers are involved, but even foresters - they, for example, check the device of the mesh from animals. I must say, the engineering support on the track is good - metal fences are everywhere, on the sides there are special ditches for water drainage. The markings have already been completely applied, signs have been installed almost everywhere - they will be finished by the opening.

But with interchanges, things are not the best way. The fact is that the only full-fledged interchange on the new section will appear only at the intersection of MKAD-2 and the Grodno highway. All the rest are simplified, that is, it will not work to turn in all directions without crossing another traffic stream. Example: we are driving from Minsk along the Myadel highway. To turn left on MKAD-2, you must first skip the oncoming traffic. Even worse - when turning from MKAD-2 to the Molodechno highway towards Minsk. Here you will have to skip two streams - from Minsk to Molodechno and back. And if at this time caravans of summer residents are driving along the highway, then skipping them, you can stand for more than a dozen minutes!

We paid attention to the coverage of the route. As you know, MKAD-2 is a concrete road. So, you can’t get rid of the characteristic “tyh-tyh” when driving - these are the joints of concrete slabs.

We also noted a characteristic ribbed coating, and the ribs seem to go across the movement. Therefore, the coating is very "noisy". However, experts say that this is intended - for better grip. By the way, the concrete here was laid by special German and American concrete-laying complexes. The track surface is a kind of sandwich of many components. Therefore, the first overhaul of such a road will need to be done no earlier than in 20 years.

TO THE POINT

MKAD-2 will cost at least $500 million

According to plans, the second ring road should cost the country approximately 5.4 trillion rubles. According to the actual at the beginning of autumn 2014, this is 513 million dollars.
