The Faculty of Biology of Bashkir State University is one of the leading educational and scientific centers of the Russian Federation in the field of biology, ecology and biotechnology. Its teaching staff ensures the training of highly qualified personnel for scientific and scientific-production enterprises in the biological, medical and agricultural fields. Graduates are also in demand in government management and control bodies (State Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, State Committee for Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources, other state and public environmental organizations), and in expert laboratories.

The Faculty of Biology has developed large scientific schools in the field of botany, physiology and biochemistry of plants, human anatomy and physiology, genetics and fundamental medicine. The faculty has a Dissertation Council D 212.013.11 for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations in the specialties 03.02.01 - botany, 03.01.05 - physiology and biochemistry of plants.
Graduates of the Faculty of Biology are employed in various scientific and industrial institutions and enterprises, in state environmental structures, specialized laboratories of the ministries of health, internal affairs, agriculture, food and processing industries, and carry out teaching activities in educational institutions. Biologists, ecologists and biotechnologists are also in demand as specialists in small and medium-sized businesses engaged in livestock farming, floriculture, fish farming, phytodesign, agribusiness, etc.
Many biology graduates choose teaching. They successfully teach biological disciplines at universities, schools and colleges in Ufa and the Republic of Belarus, as well as in other regions of the Russian Federation and abroad.
Study work
Education at the Faculty of Biology includes students mastering the humanities, natural sciences, general professional and special disciplines. Students consistently study philosophy, history, political science, ethics, cultural studies, fundamentals of law, psychology; botany, zoology, biochemistry, biotechnology, anatomy, physiology, biophysics, immunology, ecology, etc.
Educational and training internships are also of great importance for the formation of specialists in the field of biology, during which students improve in the application of scientific methods and carry out experimental field and laboratory research. These studies are carried out in scientific centers in Ufa and cities of the republic. If necessary, students are sent for internships to other educational institutions and research institutes of the Russian Federation.

1. 5. Student must have:

An individual first aid kit, repellents against flying insects and ticks;
Waterproof shoes and clothes, warm woolen clothes for excursions in cold weather, a hat, an umbrella, as well as comfortable summer shoes and clothes; - personal hygiene items;

6. During the practice period, students obliged:
Acquire knowledge and practical skills in accordance with internship programs;
Impeccably comply with the internal regulations of the BSU “Brigantina” SOK, the duties of the room and dormitory duty officer;
Follow safety regulations;
Follow the established daily routine;
Treat with care the property of the BSU "Brigantina" educational center and educational equipment;
Strictly follow the established rules of behavior in nature;
In case of illness, immediately report to the supervisors of educational practices.
7. For students is strictly prohibited:
Use of electrical appliances in the hostel: boilers, heaters, stoves;
Unauthorized leaving of the place of practice during the daytime or staying outside the BSU "Brigantina" recreation center at night;
Smoking in undesignated places;
8. Temporary absence of students from practice can be permitted only due to extreme necessity and only with the written permission of the supervisor of educational practices.
9. For violation of the Internal Regulations, Labor Safety Instructions and personal indiscipline, the heads of educational internships have the right to remove the student from further internships and petition the dean’s office to expel him from among BSU students.
10. Organized departure of students to the place of practice is planned

History of the faculty
The Faculty of Biology and Geography has been functioning since the formation of the Buryat-Mongolian Agropedological Institute (February 10, 1932), initially on the basis of the Faculty of Natural Sciences with two leading departments - botany and chemistry. In 1936, the first graduation of biology teachers was made, and in 1942, the Department of Geography was opened. From 1954 to 1956 The faculty worked as a “biological” department from 1957 to 1992. - "biological-chemical". In 1984, the department of anatomy and physiology of humans and animals appeared at the faculty, in 1988 the department of geography was created and a new specialty "Geography" was opened along with "Biology", Chemistry, "Medicine". In 1993, a new department was formed - ecology.
In 1995, Buryat State University was formed on the basis of the Belarusian State Pedagogical Institute and the Charitable Branch of NSU. In the same year, the Department of Geology was opened within the faculty. In 1997, the Faculty of Chemistry was separated from the faculty, and in 1999, the Faculty of Medicine. The faculty became “biological-geographical”.
In 2001-2002 The faculty opens postgraduate studies and two dissertation councils for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences in the specialties "Ecology" and Botany" and geographical sciences in the specialties "Geoecology", "Physical Geography, Biogeography, Soil Geography, and Landscape Geochemistry", " Economic and social geography." In 2003, a new department was opened - land use and land cadastre with two specialties "Land Cadastre" and "City Cadastre". In 2006, another specialty "Environmental Management" was opened.
Since 2015, the faculty has been called the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Land Management.
Currently the faculty has 4 departments:

The faculty was created on October 1, 1995 on the basis of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. There are 39 full-time teachers working in 3 departments of the faculty, including 1 doctor of science, 2 professors, 19 candidates of science. Over 800 students study, there are full-time and part-time departments. 19 equipped classrooms and a biological museum are provided for their education. Ample opportunities are provided for teachers and students of the faculty by the University Ecology Center, which has a department of Agrobiology, a Winter Garden, a garden of continuous flowering, and an arboretum.

ADMISSION WITHOUT ENTRANCE TESTS
1. Winners (diplomas of І, ІІ, ІІІ degrees) of the international Olympiad (in accordance with the list approved by the Ministry of Education) and the Republican Olympiad in Biology, conducted by the Ministry of Education in the academic year that ended in the year of admission.
2. Persons who have been awarded during the last two years at the time of receiving general secondary, secondary specialized education the badge “Laureate of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the National Patrimonians of the High School and Students” for high achievements in certain subject areas corresponding to the chosen profile (direction) education.
3. Upon admission to the specialty, the winners (diplomas of I, II, III degrees) of the third (regional, Minsk city) stage of the Republican Olympiad in Biology, conducted by the Ministry of Education in the academic year that ended in the year of admission, as well as persons awarded gold, silver medal or graduated from an institution of secondary specialized education with a diploma with honors (if there is a recommendation from the pedagogical council of the educational institution from which they graduated).
4. Upon admission to a specialty 1-31 01 01-02 Biology (scientific and pedagogical activities) persons who have completed training in specialized classes (groups) of a pedagogical orientation in institutions of general secondary education, if their education document contains marks of at least 7 (seven) points in all academic subjects and marks of at least 8 (eight) points in academic subjects corresponding to the subjects profile tests (subject to the recommendation of the pedagogical council of the educational institution from which they graduated, and based on the results of an interview conducted by the educational institution in the manner established by the Ministry of Education), subject to subsequent mandatory work on distribution after receiving higher education full-time at the expense of budget funds of at least five years.

Features of accounting for the average score of an education document
For admission of applicants who have received secondary specialized education, the average score of the diploma of secondary specialized education is taken into account in the total score.
To enroll applicants who have received vocational education on the basis of general secondary education, the total score takes into account the average score, defined as the arithmetic mean when summing up all marks in educational documents (certificate of general secondary education and diploma of vocational education).
