Succeed in your new job. Absolutely always be prepared for failures and mistakes

One of the most important principles that make it possible to succeed is self-discipline, a victory over yourself, over your own laziness, disorganization and failures. Before you get started, you must understand one very important principle: if you don’t stop looking for a freebie, you won’t get off the ground. Success is hard work!

But there are some ways you can get the results you want with much less effort.

Tells business coach Alexander Belanovsky.

So how do you get the best results?

We often hear from acquaintances and colleagues the same phrase: “You are so lucky, but I’m unlucky, that’s why I don’t succeed ... I don’t have money ... I don’t have enough time ...”

Is it luck? Not at all! The more we work, the more lucky we are. First of all, it is work on yourself, as well as the use of time with maximum efficiency. Self-discipline can help you. Use your time wisely! This is the basic rule of a successful person.

And here are a few other rules that help achieve important goals:

1. Helper is inevitable

No matter how much you convince yourself that you yourself are able to do all the work, you will never be able to achieve a result if you take on the whole heap of cases.

Remember: if there are people whose working time is cheaper than yours, then it is best to delegate duties. Especially if you are an entrepreneur or business owner. Never do routine work, give it to someone who can cope without your participation, perform routine tasks with someone else's hands.

2. Keep a to-do list

When the porridge in your head and the brain literally explodes from piled problems and worries, you will not find a better helper than paper and a pen.

Write down current and future affairs, unload the brain from an overabundance of information. Then it will be much easier to structure all cases, respectively, and the process of self-discipline will go much more efficiently.

3. Deadlines are required!

In order to achieve faster and more effective achievement of the goal, it is necessary to set yourself a time limit. Only a hard deadline will allow you to clearly complete the task. You should not go to bed if the deadlines are running out. Don't let yourself relax until the task is completed.

4. How well do you prioritize?

In life and business, a lot depends on the sequence of actions with which you move towards the intended goal. If you do not take important steps on time, you risk not getting more than another chance to fulfill your plans, miss out on opportunities, profits, or even worse - money.

Therefore, sit down and think about which cases at this stage you need to solve in the first place, and which ones can wait.

5. Don't get distracted from important things

If you are going to the intended goal, then do not be distracted by nonsense. Make it clear to yourself that you don't have time to chat on the phone, hang out on social media, or sit on the couch in front of the TV. The absence of distractions is the main key to self-discipline.

6. Make promises publicly!

In combination with rule number 3, the result will generally be almost lightning fast. Of course, there is a chance to create a stressful situation, but it is stress that will help you work even more efficiently. A public promise is the strongest motivator for completing tasks and meeting deadlines.

7. Order on the table - order in the head

By periodically clearing the rubble from the workplace, you can reach the mark of 100 points on the self-discipline scale. Do an experiment and you will notice how much more productive you work when you are in perfect order.

So, if you have a goal that has not yet been achieved, but you really want to get to the finish line as soon as possible, analyze everything that you have just read and immediately proceed to the implementation of the rules. Self-discipline is a serious work on yourself that you need to start right now!

Many people, regardless of the level of their position, are interested in the question of how to succeed at work. Contrary to popular belief, it is not at all necessary to attend motivational courses if there is such a desire - this is already a sufficient incentive. It is better to engage in personal development, self-education, establishing the necessary contacts, building relationships with people correctly. It is worth considering that achieving high goals is not an easy process, requiring full dedication and leaving no free time for stupidity.

  • Goal setting. You need to set short-term and long-term goals for yourself. Their presence will be the best incentive to stay in the most difficult and unpleasant situations. They do not have to be saved in your head, it is better to come up with a visual embodiment (a small Ferrari, a model of a house, a sign with the inscription of the desired position).
  • Daily hard work. You will have to work every day, lingering at work and sacrificing weekends. It is not necessary to do this in order to “curry favor” with the management, rather, such an approach will allow you to keep everything in order.
  • Goodwill as the main character trait. No one needs enemies. Even with unpleasant people, it is better to keep within the framework of good relations than to constantly spend energy on “military actions”. A service rendered to someone does not always guarantee reciprocal assistance, but it can protect against negative influence.
  • Correct attitude to failures and mistakes. Any failure is a useful experience from which you need to learn, and not get depressed. Everyone makes mistakes, but only smart and successful people don't repeat them.

  • Maximalism. Success can only be achieved when maximum results are achieved in all endeavors. Increased demands on yourself and others will allow you to realize your full potential.
  • Setting the right priorities. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to succeed in several areas at once at the stage of career development. At the very beginning, you will have to forget about nightlife and even partially sacrifice your personal life. You should not try to capture several directions at once, it is better to move sequentially, according to a pre-planned plan.
  • Constant work on yourself. There is no limit to perfection, and man is a clear confirmation of this. There are never too many skills and knowledge, and today you can get them even on your own, without wasting time visiting educational institutions. A comprehensively developed person is more likely to succeed than a person fixated on one direction and operating with basic knowledge.
  • The ability to speak well. A talented employee must be talented in everything, and speech skills are in demand in most areas. Even if the employee keeps all the documentation in perfect order and clearly performs all current tasks, but at the same time cannot connect even two words, most likely he will linger for a long time in the place that the manager considers the most suitable.
  • Striving for order. This should be manifested not only in the cleanliness of the desktop and the accuracy of documentation, but also in the clarity of thought. A diary and an organizer are essential companions of a business person. Only with their help can you count on high-quality business management.

Everyone at least once asked himself the question: “How to achieve success in life and career?”. How do people achieve outstanding success in school, work, business, personal relationships, and in any other endeavor?

The answer to this question is that they have a special thinking, knowledge and most importantly, they operate!

As one of the sages very accurately noted that some people have achieved success only because they began to strive for it before you. Everyone has a choice - to be successful or unsuccessful, rich or poor, happy or unhappy. And everyone makes his choice throughout his life!

In today's article, I want to give not just empty tips on how to succeed in life, but clear ways / methods of successful people with which you will achieve everything that you could not even dream of before.

These methods helped me a lot to start and achieve really impressive results in a short period of time.

By the end of the article, you will be able to choose a specific method (strategy) that suits you and start planning your life and succeed!

So how do you become successful in life and achieve your goals?

Many of us do not have clear life goals and priorities. Often we cannot say “NO” to certain people and things. We do not know our strengths and weaknesses. We have no control over our energy and often scatter it aimlessly. We are constantly afraid of something.

At the heart of success lies the right self-organization (self-management) and motivation. All success depends on it!

Self-organization (self-management) means competence, one's personal and professional development, regardless of external circumstances. Part of self-organization is time management, or in simple terms, time management.

Peter Drucker, perhaps one of the most important self-government writers of the 20th century, said that we live in an era of unprecedented personal and professional opportunity.

However, these opportunities require taking responsibility for your development and personal maturity. On this subject, Peter Drucker says:

  • You must become both a leader and a subordinate for yourself, in other words, on the one hand, you must be able to set the right goals and objectives, organize your time, and, on the other hand, follow your plan and complete the planned tasks.
  • Throughout your life, you must remain inquisitive and productive.
  • In order to do things well, you must maintain a deep awareness of yourself.
  • You need to know what skills you have and where you can best apply them.

The ultimate goal of self-organization is for us to consciously take our daily work into our own hands.

This also includes: planning, organization, motivation and goal setting.

To be successful in life, you must:

  • organize yourself better
  • plan your tasks
  • prioritize and of course
  • always be motivated.

Summarizing:
it is essential that you make the most effective decisions.

It would seem that such simple tips, however, it is hard work. Scientists say: every day we take over 20,000 solutions , most of them within seconds. It's pretty hard to imagine!

Especially in the course of work, we again and again find ourselves in situations in which we must make decisions quickly. In this state, under the pressure of lack of time, we are 60 percent of the time.

Start with one goal

How can you set your goals?

First steps:

  • Your goal must to be clearly defined.
The path to achieving the goal is often not easy. Therefore, you must set clear goals and be able to make decisions more spontaneously and improvise. Too rigid planning does not allow it.
  • Don't be a slave to your purpose.
It sounds harsh, but there are people who stubbornly stick to a once set goal, no matter what happens to them. So it is worth admiring your perseverance, in the event that when your life circumstances change, you are able to adjust your goals or completely abandon them.
  • Your Hobbies Spontaneously Shape Your Goals.
If you value something, stand behind it with a mountain and most importantly - love it, then you do not need any other goals. In this case, you know exactly what you want to achieve.

And now let's move on to the main thing - to the strategies that will allow you to succeed in life.

The Pareto principle, named after Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923), states that We achieve 80% of all results with 20% of efforts . The remaining 20% of the result requires as much as 80% of the effort from us.

In other words, often we spend a huge amount of our time and effort on things and things that really do not give any result.

This is illustrated in the following graph:

Bottom right square It's really nothing but garbage. These tasks may not be performed. They are neither urgent nor important.

Lower upper square These are minor but urgent tasks. These tasks should be delegated.

Tasks that are not urgent but important (bottom left) must be entered in the calendar and later completed step by step.

Remaining tasks top left corner: urgent and important. They must be executed immediately!

Of course, it would be pointless to develop such a coordinate system for every day. The purpose of this is to internalize this principle so that you can apply it intuitively.

Which of the methods you choose to achieve the goal is your personal choice, the main thing is that it contributes to the achievement of success as much as possible.

4. We become successful and achieve our goals!

Gradually, step by step, we are moving towards success! So what is the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people?

5. Individual performance curve

People, like all other living beings, have an "internal clock", which is called biorhythms. Depending on the time of day, people are either active or relaxed.

The productivity of a single person, as a result, is not always the same throughout the day, but changes at regular intervals.

Successful activity requires a high degree of concentration and activity. So important tasks should be completed in the periods in which they are most appropriate - in terms of activity and efficiency.

Therefore, it makes sense to know your performance curve and take it into account. In order to avoid the low concentration phase during work, you should adjust your work schedule according to your performance curve.

There are 3 performance curves:

    "average person""owls""larks".

5.1 The "average person" performance curve

It is suitable for most people.

Performance is strongly understood in the morning and culminates in the morning (8.00 to 11.00).

It decreases in the afternoon and noon and increases again in the evening (18:00 - 20:00).

But the morning peak performance will not be reached.

In order to use this performance curve, you must

  • Schedule important work and appointments at the time of your highest level of productivity - morning
  • Leave less important things and routine work for the afternoon.

5.2 "COB" performance curve

Do you fall asleep late, don't feel like getting out of bed in the morning, have no appetite and are not particularly talkative?

Then you are probably an "evening person" whose productivity curve is shifted back by 2 hours compared to the "average person".

5.3 LARKS performance curve

Are you often already tired by 21.00, but as soon as you wake up, you are already in a cheerful state and immediately ready to act?

Then, most likely, you are a lark.

Your productivity curve is shifted forward by about 1 hour compared to the average person.

In order to use your performance curve effectively, you must

  • start your work day early,
  • use the hour before the arrival of your colleagues to do important work in silence,
  • perform routine work in the afternoon.

The diagram below should help you understand the various performance curves more clearly:

Individual performance should be observed and noted over a long period of time.

Then you can build your personal performance curve and make it the basis of your daily work.

What tasks have I completed today and what have I achieved?

Not everything always goes as easy as we would like. Therefore, you must stay motivated throughout the day.

Everyone has experienced a lack of motivation, including top managers and highly skilled athletes. Often, following your plan is exhausting, boring, or difficult. This can seriously dampen motivation.

Motivation is a necessary condition for successful work. But how to motivate your unwillingness, besides, if you are at the bottom?

Be aware of your own motives and their meaning.

Motivation is often just a matter of the right attitude.

The motivation and desire to achieve some set goal can only be found if you have a good reason for achieving this goal.

Only when a person understands the benefit of the goal and the actions associated with it, he will be able to motivate himself and work towards achieving the goals.

If the task seems strange to you to some extent or you cannot understand its meaning, then you should question this task. Try to collect all possible information about the task being performed: Why do it? What will it give me? Do I need it?

Each person is individual. For one, a vacation with his family is a great happiness, another needs the applause of the audience, while the third lives only with his car.

The first step towards self-motivation is to understand what really motivates you.

What are your personal motives for achieving the goal?

Only those who identify with daily activities have greater intrinsic motivation and, consequently, a high level of performance.
Steve Rice, an American psychologist, found in one study (Rice Profile) that there are 16 basic human needs:

motive behavioral feature
Power Influence, success, leadership
Independence Freedom, Self-determination

Read about how to find a well-paid job on the Internet.

What does success at work mean to you? High salary? Career? The opportunity to relax in beautiful places? Try not to be deceived! Sometimes these indicators are not real signs of success. After all, such concepts as happiness, prosperity, success, are not measured by money. You can be a boss at work, earning a huge salary, but get an ulcer because of the nervous experiences that accompany such “success”.

Real success comes from a sense of job satisfaction. Even at the very beginning of the career ladder, you can feel like the master of the situation, knowing your job perfectly and doing it perfectly. So how do you become successful at work?

This is the first and most important condition for success. We can say that this is the key to success.

  • If you are engaged in manual labor, do not consider such work unworthy of respect. Of course, it is difficult to fall in love with hard physical labor, but it is possible. Compare yourself to athletes at the Olympics. They do it for fame, and you do it for your family.
  • Any job brings benefits, which means you can love your job by thinking about what benefits you bring to people. Surely your work is useful to customers, buyers. Or maybe you keep the environment clean? Then the importance of your work can hardly be overestimated.
  • Pay more attention to the positive results of your work, then you will feel self-respect. It will also help increase positive emotions towards your work. Even a small salary is an achievement!

When you love your job, success will come by itself. Success loves cheerful and contented people. And contentment and joy depend on your mood. If your mind is filled with negative thoughts, it can affect the quality of your work. What kind of boss will approve of your work if it is done somehow?

Be diligent

Even if the work is poorly paid, it is worth doing in good faith.

  • If you limit yourself to a minimum of duties assigned to you, the authorities are unlikely to consider you an employee worthy of a bonus or promotion. Some are afraid to do more work, fearing that they will be assigned many responsibilities without additional payment, that is, they will simply be used. Indeed, there are unscrupulous people among employers. Still, you should not think badly about the boss in advance. Do more than what is required of you, and success will not be long in coming.
  • Don't be lazy at work. Laziness is a bad habit that is hard to overcome. But it is possible. The best way is to motivate yourself to achieve small goals, and then gradually increase the amount or complexity of work.

Be persistent

Failure at work does not mean that you are not a successful person. On the contrary, many people who have achieved success in science, sports, medicine and other fields have gone through a huge number of unsuccessful attempts and disappointments.

Here is an example: two young men were trying to create a flying machine. Many times their structures fell apart under the pressure of the wind, without having time to take off. A lot of money and effort was spent on experiments. And they all ended in failure. Did this circumstance stop those young people? No. Result: now they are the world famous Wright brothers, inventors of the world's first controlled aircraft.

Be balanced

A workaholic can get a promotion at work. But you can hardly call such fanaticism successful. If you don’t know how to relax and take time to rest, you can burn out. The price of such success is a deep depression, the habit of being maximalist in everything, the inability to get along with others because of too high demands on people.

Sometimes a person can deceive himself by saying: “I will work without days off for a couple of years, but then I can afford a more luxurious vacation.” To avoid falling into this trap, consider the following:

  • Working seven days a week, in conditions of constant lack of sleep, lowers immunity, and, therefore, increases your expenses for medicines. There may simply not be enough money for a luxurious vacation;
  • There is a so-called "principle of inertia". As you get yourself into a work rhythm, you realize that it takes some time to stop. Otherwise, the first part of the rest you will feel stress, being torn from the usual working atmosphere. And the longer the period of work without days off, the longer the period of stress will be before the onset of a good rest.

Be diligent, persevere, love your work, do not forget about a good rest. By following the above tips, you will gain job satisfaction, and along with it, self-esteem. Such success will delight you, and the bonus and promotion will be a nice bonus. Do not confuse imaginary success with real!

Good luck and see you in the next article.
