  2. Make big decisions first. Think about what decisions you need to make, how and why they are important to solving your problem. Making decisions will help you move forward in solving problems, so first think about what to focus on, what needs to be done, how you are going to do it.

    • For example, you may have several problems that need to be solved. Therefore, you first need to decide which of them to solve first. Solve problems as they come - it will be easier and you will not worry about other problems.
    • Once you make a decision, don't doubt yourself. From now on, be prepared to look to the future without thinking about how things might have been if you had chosen a different option.
  3. Simplify the problem. Too complex and global problem is difficult to solve. If there are several similar problems, break them down into smaller components and deal with them individually. Break the problem into smaller parts so you can understand it and find a solution.

    • For example, if you have many different assignments to complete in order to pass an exam, focus on how many assignments you need to complete and then start completing them one by one.
    • Whenever possible, try to combine the same type of problems and solve them together. For example, if you don't have time to study, try listening to a recorded lecture while you're driving to class (or take a quick look at your notes while you're waiting for lunch).

    • For example, if you have a deadline, you might want to skip making dinner or hitting the gym a couple of times to make time for a project.
    • If possible, reduce those tasks that are not necessary. For example, you can save time by ordering groceries or meals online instead of going to the store. The time saved can be spent on other tasks.

    1. Have a brainstorm and come up with several solutions. Think of different ways to solve a problem. Knowing that you have several ways to solve this problem, you will have a choice. After thinking about alternative options, decide which ones are more realistic and which ones are best left out.

      • If you are making a difficult decision, write down a list of alternatives. In this case, you will not forget any possible options and you can immediately cross out those options that seem unrealistic.
      • For example, let's say that you are hungry and therefore need something to eat. Think about whether you want to cook something for yourself, buy fast food, order food, or go to a restaurant or cafe.
    2. Try different approaches to the problem. If you are solving a specific problem, analytical and logical skills will help you the best. In other cases, you will have to rely on emotions to help you solve the problem. Often, solving a problem requires the ability to combine the skills of thinking, feeling, and even intuition. Don't be afraid to use all of these methods, try each one and see what works best for you.

      • For example, if you're considering a job offer that pays well but leaves you too little time for your family, you'll have to approach the problem in a variety of ways. Think about this sentence logically, but also pay attention to your feelings and thoughts, and also imagine how your decision will affect you and those around you.
    3. Ask for advice. If your problem is not solved overnight, seek advice from other people. Perhaps you know someone who has had a similar problem in the past and that person can give you some advice. It is not so important whether you follow his advice - it depends only on you. However, it can be helpful to get a different point of view.

      • For example, if you're buying a house or apartment and don't know how to make a final decision, talk to other homeowners, listen to their opinions about buying a house/apartment and their regrets.
    4. Track progress. If you are working towards a goal, keep track of how things are going. If you are moving forward and succeeding, keep going. If you find that you are not doing very well, consider solving the problem in a different way. You may need to come up with new strategies to solve your problem.

      • For example, if you are having financial difficulties, pay attention to how your efforts affect income and expenses. If the habit of budgeting helps you, keep going. If you don't know how to handle money, try something else.
      • Keep a diary, write in it about your progress, successes and problems. These entries can be read to increase motivation when you feel frustrated.

There were a lot of them and somehow they were solved. Now we have no problems with the fact that a saber-toothed tiger that wants to eat us does not allow us to leave the cave for food. Problems are being solved.

The first thing you need to know (and many people already know this, but I will just remind you) is that if a person himself does not want to solve his problem or problems, then they will not be solved. A person can only be helped to solve it. And this statement has been tried - tried, tested and rechecked, but the fact remains: if a person (or a group of people) does not want to solve a problem, then it will not be solved and no one will help solve it. There is, of course, an even more difficult case, when a person or a group of people are not at all aware that they have real problems and, accordingly, they will sit in them, and they (problems) will spoil their lives. Therefore, in order to be able to solve a problem or problems, it is first necessary to recognize them, to discover them.

And here is a method, call it an exercise or whatever, but it works:

  • The first thing to do is take a piece of paper and a pen and write down a list of the problems you or your field of work have, whether you think it can be solved or not, just write it down. .
  • Second: choose from the entire list the problem that you are most easily aware of, that is, the problem that seems to you or is perceived by you as the smallest. People often make the mistake of trying to do something about their biggest problem.
  • Third: you have chosen such a problem (if you want, mark it somehow in the entire list or write down its wording below the entire list), and now write down (of course, you need to think about it) what you can do to solve this problem . So really, what can you do to solve this problem.
  • And fourth: do it!!! That is, solve it, this little problem.

Let's run through this quickly:

  1. You make a list of problems (for example, you have 5 of them):
    - a problem with the teeth, I have to go to the dentist, but I'm afraid;
    - Apartment without repair 15 years;
    - no one can take out the bin, the kitchen stinks;
    - there is no additional source of income, but I want even more money;
    - the son does not want to study and there is nothing we can do about it.
  2. You see that the trash bin worries you the least of all (and you don’t need to include here “son of a fool, not only doesn’t want to study, he also doesn’t take out the trash, doesn’t understand that the trash needs to be taken out” - you now stink, not him - you have a problem). So write down this problem as the smallest one or mark it on your list.
  3. Write down what you can do with it. You, not an idiot. And write "Take it out into the yard into a garbage container" (or a domestic garbage chute, or somewhere else where normal people throw garbage, and not to a neighbor under an apartment, as this will be another problem).
  4. Easily, or with a creak, gritting your teeth, you take out this bucket of garbage and bring it home without garbage and possibly wash it (if something stinks there). And one less problem and then you don’t chase your son for it - it doesn’t exist.

And here is the math here: let's take and designate one problem as a unit, a unit of your nerves, attention, time, strength, mental activity, worries, energy and other things. In our example, there are 5 problems, that is, 5 units. Due to the fact that you have them, they do not add up to one another, but rather multiply, since all this is yours. And we get 5 (units) problems multiplied by 5 problems (units) and get 25 units of negative emotions, nerves, and so on, and the feeling that you have not 5 separate problems, but 25! And it all weighs on you and rather you have the feeling that everything is a problem and there is no way out of it.

And so you wanted to deal with the biggest one - where do you get the strength from, if you have, in essence, 25 problems that are pressing on you with all their might?

And then you took out the trash can and now you have 4 problems, and 4 times 4 will be 16, that is, 9 units of negativity or tension less. These are the 9 units that are now yours, and which you can now use to solve the next problem from the list and some other, more constructive or useful and pleasant things.

Then we look at the list further. And you find that the next problem that is easiest for you to look at is that you need to get your teeth in order and you write down what can be done about it and then go to the dentist (perhaps having quickly learned before that where the most humane in world dentist) and put your teeth in order. Now you have 3 problems, and 3 multiplied by 3 will be 9 units, that is, even less by 7 units. And so on down the list: find the easiest one from the list, write what you can do with it and now you have 2 problems or a total of 4 units (and the rest of the original 25 are released and give you more opportunities to do something and more courage to solve other problems, and the like). And then you are left with one problem, which most likely will not be a problem, but will be a task that needs to be completed.

There is one caveat here: as the number of problems decreases, you may want to abandon all the others. Don't do it right - solve them. Naturally, when the units “locked” in problems are released, a new outlook on life may appear and you will reschedule something in your life and something will simply cease to be your problem (for example, a hurricane in the USA will stop worrying you or you will find out that your son knows what he wants and he is interested in specialized education, and now the goal will appear - to find those people or institutions that will help your son develop his abilities and talents in the field of activity for which he has a craving).

Take these 4 steps, they help a lot and it is natural that it may take several minutes to take out the trash can, and it will most likely take more time to create and promote your business (or another one).

If problems start to stick, just do these 4 steps.

As for solving problems that do not concern you personally, but, for example, the team (staff, countries, and so on), here, on the contrary, you need to eliminate the biggest blockages by everyone together, but this is a separate issue.

You will succeed!

Light and black stripes - this is the real pattern of our existence. But it happens that unexpectedly a difficult and long black stage appears, and each new day feels even worse than the previous one. Difficulties "piling up" on us literally from everywhere, and we do not have time to find rational solutions for them. How to solve relationship problems, family problems, problems at work and in yourself? In other words, there come such moments that you understand that effective psychotherapy is needed, because we only learning to solve problems.

This is, for example, reading a fascinating book, picnics in nature with a cheerful company, traveling, playing chess, etc. If recently the circumstances of life have become very stressful, then it makes sense to devote more time to restoring your own strength, otherwise how can you find the right solution to your difficulties?

When you calm down and stop being nervous, return to the problems that are bothering you again and make an attempt to evaluate and analyze them rationally, without unnecessary worries. You are just learning to solve problems (like every person on Earth), but it is very possible that now they will no longer seem completely unbearable to you. Often life's difficulties seem unbearable to us precisely because there are too many of them and all of them require immediate action, this unsettles a person, into a state of stress in which it is difficult to act.

What to do if you don't know how to solve the problem. Desperate situations.
When difficult life circumstances come in our lives, we, as a rule, plunge headlong into our experiences, ask ourselves questions: “why do I need this?”, “Why did this happen to me?”, which do not help us at all, but on the contrary worsen our psycho-emotional state.

We concentrate even more on the problem that worries us, we plunge into negative emotions, we devote most of our time to finding solutions and still we cannot find it. We get frustrated and lose faith in ourselves. Most of people, not seeing a way out of the situation, gradually comes to terms with negative changes and continues to go with the flow of life, hoping that in time everything will be resolved and the current will bring them to a more favorable shore.

Remember, when we are fixated on a problem, we look at the world and perceive it through the prism of this problem, and do not notice the rest, and this can be the key to overcoming this difficulty.

You need to realize one truth: there is always a solution, and we know about it.

- due to the fact that solving a problem may require leaving the comfort zone, overcoming our fears, working on ourselves, we often block the awareness of such a decision, and we can walk in circles for a long time in search of a way out.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE NO OUTPUT?

1. Answer questions honestly:

How do you perceive your role in organizing your own life?
Do you think you can have a decisive influence on your future?

Listed below are some of the responses to difficult life circumstances. Your task is to determine to what extent they are inherent in you:
“life is cruel/unfair to me”;
“I can’t do anything about it, it’s not in my power”;
“I want changes, but they are impossible under such circumstances”;
“no matter what I do, it’s all in vain, tomorrow something will go wrong again”;
“This is a punishment from above, apparently I was guilty of something.”

If you recognize your reactions in any of these statements, ask yourself how often do you resort to them? The answers to these three questions will give you a deeper understanding of how much you really control your own life and take responsibility for what happens.

When difficult circumstances come in our lives or, as it seems to us, hopeless situations, we are completely emotionally involved in them and our attention is narrowed so much that we notice almost nothing but an urgent problem. When we get out of the role of the actor, that is, the subject with whom something happened, and take the position of an observer, we can learn a lot about this problem. Our vision of what happened is changing, emotions subside and we are already able to notice those nuances that we did not pay attention to before.

This is another way to distance yourself from the problem, reduce emotional involvement and partially remove responsibility for the solutions we proposed. It is the unwillingness to bear responsibility for the consequences of our choice that prevents us from realizing how often there is an obvious way out of the situation and causes delay in making a decision. As I said, there is always a way out, but we are afraid to make the wrong decision, and therefore we often begin to ignore the problem, try to find ways to escape from it, someone escapes from reality, plunging into entertainment, computer games, watching TV shows, and someone finds solace in alcohol, drugs, and so on.

5. Another recommendation for finding the best solution - give free rein to your creativity . Take a sheet of paper or a voice recorder, whichever is more convenient for you, describe your problem situation, and then you need to do the following. Time yourself, say 5 minutes, set an alarm, and start writing down all possible solutions. The main condition is not to criticize yourself and those options that will flash in your head. Your goal is to capture as many ideas as possible, and in this case, the limited time will force you to focus as much as possible on finding solutions. The next step is to choose the best possible solution to your problem.

6. If none of the methods I have suggested help you find a way out of the situation, then just give yourself time. Formulate your question and let your unconscious find the most suitable solution. At first glance, such a recommendation seems somehow magical and smacks of esoteric teachings. However, if you understand the process from the point of view of psychology, everything falls into place and the picture becomes clearer. Our behavior, everyday choices and actions are determined in large part by our unconscious. In addition, often some ideas and desires are rejected at the level of consciousness as unrealistic, delusional, difficult to achieve, inappropriate, and so on. And the amount of information that we are aware of is very, very limited.

I like the iceberg analogy, where the tip is our consciousness, and everything that is hidden under water, that is, the main part of the iceberg, is the unconscious. The technique that I propose works great if you start to trust yourself more, be open to new information coming from the external and your inner world, be attentive to what is happening around you in order to notice the prompts in time and use them.

How to deal with sobriety problems

Perhaps it was this understanding that exacerbated your alcohol addiction. But what you couldn't do is act systematically. You could do something there for a day or two, and then you forgot (or scored) about your goal, changed your goal, abandoned plans, ceased to consider it necessary, and so on. What difference does it make which one you found an excuse to kill your next target?

Now you have a chance. Planned ordinary actions are the key to achieving the goal. This is the tank method.

For all the time I have read about a hundred books on the topic of goals, plans and motivation. But for myself, I made only two rules that work flawlessly.

  1. If you do nothing, nothing will happen
  2. To achieve a goal, you don't have to give it up.

What is the difference between the position of the sober and the addict in how to solve problems

The position of a sober person is that he understands that even a small goal in life requires the application of certain efforts: for a long time. And only then is the result possible.

Chaotic movement, when you rush from solving one problem to another, will not lead to the desired result.

The person who is addicted wants to get everything at once. In his mind, something miraculous is about to happen and his life will magically change. It seems to him that he deserves more and, in general, life itself owes him. It is called magical thinking.

A sober person refuses this kind of thinking.

The position of a sober person is to act systematically and constantly in the direction of their goals (tank method).

And let these be ordinary steps, but they are real. Through persistence and through the fact that a sober person performs actions daily, it is possible to solve all problems. And then the result is possible, which can exceed all expectations.

Give up the idea of ​​solving all problems in one fell swoop . Give yourself time.

Same with sobriety. You don't intend to wake up tomorrow as if you've never had a drink. You understand that in order to regain a comfortable state, a certain time must pass - 6-18 months. And even then the work will continue. This - sober position, correct and adult, which should extend to other areas of your life.

The main virtue on your way will be tolerance. Tolerance in everything plus the ability to solve problems gradually and consistently is a fail-safe method of improving life.

Slowly and surely, you must sweep your side of the street.

You have to clear the blockage that is your life - pebble by pebble. And even if growth is imperceptible, know it is. It continues all the time, unless, of course, you are marking time.

Flexible planning in problem solving

Agile planning involves changing the plan in accordance with new circumstances (but not changing the goal itself)

Action planning should be flexible. If you have made a plan, but new circumstances have appeared in reality, it may seem to you that life ruins your plan. No. Your plan is not perfect! This plan did not take into account the real circumstances that appeared in the process. And that's okay. Your plan must be flexible - that's the secret of any success.

Flexibility in planning involves adjusting the plan in the course of solving problems under changing life circumstances.

Understand that you cannot foresee everything at once. And sometimes the changes will be so strong that your whole plan can be crossed out. Then you need to adjust the plan, according to the new experience and knowledge gained.

If you are sure that your goal is chosen correctly, it should not be abandoned at the slightest difficulty.

Don't be upset if you can't solve all the problems right away, give yourself a break, give yourself a temporary rest, and then try again.
