Universities in the Crimea. Crimean universities

The "Passing Score" column shows the average passing score for one exam (the minimum total passing score divided by the number of exams).

What is it and why is it important?

Admission to the university is based on the results of the Unified State Examination (for each exam, you can score a maximum of 100 points). When enrolling, individual achievements are also taken into account, such as a final school essay (gives a maximum of 10 points), an excellent student certificate (6 points) and a TRP badge (4 points). In addition, some universities are allowed to take an additional exam in a specialized subject for the chosen specialty. For some specialties, it is also required to pass a professional or creative exam. You can also score a maximum of 100 points for each additional exam.

Passing score for any specialty at a particular university is the minimum total score with which an applicant was enrolled during the last admission campaign.

In fact, we know with what points it was possible to enter last year. But, unfortunately, no one knows with what score you can enter this or next year. This will depend on how many applicants and with what scores they will apply for this specialty, as well as on how many budget places will be allocated. Nevertheless, knowing the passing scores allows you to estimate your chances of admission with a high degree of probability, so it is worth focusing on them, this is important.

What has been talked about for a long time has happened, and last week Simferopol found out the details.

GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
R A P O R I W E N I E
dated August 4, 2014 No. 1465-r

1. Create a federal state autonomous educational institution of higher education "Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky"

Below is a list of educational and scientific organizations that are part of the Federal University with a brief description, as well as something about the science and history of Crimean universities.

I. Educational organizations

Tauride National University. V. Vernadsky.
The Taurida National University has 18 faculties that train students in 45 specialties. The total number of students is 17,749. TNU employs 1314 teachers, including 133 Doctors of Science Professors, 569 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors.
Material and technical base: six educational buildings, a computer technology center, about 170 educational and scientific laboratories and centers, a scientific library. Botanical Garden. astronomical observatory. Zoo museum. Canteens and buffets, a cafe, a student club, a sports complex, a medical unit. There are six dormitories at the disposal of nonresident students.

TNU is a classic university, which has balanced science and humanities faculties. Without exaggeration, in all respects, the flagship of the Crimean education and science. Although all these achievements stand out on the scale of Crimea and Ukraine. To the world level of TNU as to the moon.

National Academy of Environmental Protection and Resort Construction.
The total contingent of students is more than 6,000 people. There are 32 doctors of sciences, professors, 106 candidates of sciences and associate professors in 29 departments at NAPKS. Material base: 5 educational buildings, a library complex, a sports and recreation complex, an architectural and landscape complex "Winter Garden", 2 hostels.

NAPKS in the past, a branch of the Sevastopol Instrument-Making Institute. In those already distant Soviet years, the branch taught in construction areas, and therefore the local wits called it the "Fence-Building Institute". Later, on the basis of the branch, a full-fledged institute was created, focused on purely construction specialties. Directions: architecture, building technologies and building engineering with a focus on resort and ecological construction.

Crimean State Medical University. S. I. Georgievsky
About 4.7 thousand students study at the Crimean State Medical University, of which about 1.7 thousand are foreign citizens from 34 countries of the world. About 850 teachers work at KSMU, including 99 doctors of sciences, professors, 356 candidates of sciences, associate professors. 40 university professors are academicians and corresponding members of domestic and foreign academies of sciences, 14 are laureates of state prizes.

A classic medical institute, named a university during the years of independence. Many foreigners have always studied here. The first blacks in Simferopol appeared in the mid-60s, when immigrants from Africa began to study Medyn. Blacks on the streets of the city then aroused genuine interest. Before that, Soviet people from the provinces, black Africans were seen only in the movies.

Crimean Agrotechnological University T.
About 5.5 thousand students acquire knowledge at the university, of which 3.3 are full-time students and 2.2 thousand are part-time students. The university has 7 faculties. The educational process and scientific research is provided by 306 scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers, including 46 doctors of sciences, professors, 179 candidates of sciences, associate professors. On the territory of the university campus, two educational and laboratory buildings, a mechanization pavilion, a Students' Palace, seven dormitories, a canteen, a boiler room, a kindergarten, a car garage, a laundry, a secondary school, twelve residential multi-storey buildings, a construction shop, mechanical workshops and all necessary household services were built. The total area of buildings and structures was 113472 sq.m., dormitories occupy 24134 sq.m. for 2200 seats.

A classic agricultural institute, called a university in the years of independence.

Crimean Humanitarian University (Yalta).
About 400 people teach, including 46 Doctors of Science, 130 Candidates of Science.

The former Yalta Pedagogical College, during the years of independence, turned into a university by adding accounting specialties. Directions: economics and management, philology, history.

Crimean Economic Institute.

The institute has four faculties and 17 departments. Teaching staff: more than 200 specialists, including 12 doctors of sciences, professors and more than 100 candidates of sciences, associate professors. Material and technical base: three educational buildings, a cafeteria and a canteen, a gym, a gym, seven computer classes and a library with a subscription and a reading room.
Directions: economics, law, management.

Crimean Institute of Information and Printing Technologies.
KIIPT has two faculties teaching 7 specialties. 5 professors, 255 candidates of sciences, associate professors work here.
Directions: polygraphy and design.

In fact, this is a large part of the universities of Simferopol. The so-called "Tatar" or Industrial Pedagogical Institute and several private universities remained. In general, it must be said that Ukraine beats all records in terms of the number of universities. There are several times more universities in Ukraine than in Poland. In the 90s, private universities appeared like mushrooms after the rain, and all former technical schools, not to mention institutes, were urgently renamed universities. For example, we have the University of Food Technologies, which used to be a food technical school under the Soviets. Previously, there were several more branches of Ukrainian universities, but it seems that now they have all been liquidated.
In total, the potential today is as follows: 373 doctors of sciences, professors, 1695 candidates, associate professors. There are 34,000 students studying in the four largest universities alone. Over two dozen only educational buildings, hostels, sports and scientific bases, including in the city of Yalta!
For comparison. The Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad) has 92 Doctors of Science and 322 Candidates. 16 thousand students study.
The Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok) has 1,058 Doctors and Candidates of Science, and 24,000 students.
So, in terms of the number of teachers and students, the Crimean Federal University already has an impressive contingent. It remains only to raise the material base. Raise the level of science. Because it is by the number of publications and citations in rating journals that the level of the university is determined, and not by the quality of the facing tiles in the toilets. Although the quality of latrines is also not a superfluous property.

In addition to educational institutions, the Federal University included scientific organizations.

II. Scientific organizations

1. Crimean Scientific Center

2. Department of Seismology of the Institute of Geophysics. S.I. Subbotina

3. Crimean Scientific and Methodological Center for Education Management

A few words about TNU

The main university of Simferopol Taurida National University often took a place in the top ten universities in Ukraine. A luxurious facade, a very beautiful botanical garden, a good finish inside the building - this is the main thing that the permanent rector of the times of independence N.V. Bagrov, in the past a significant politician of the Crimea. They say he has already left his post. For comparison, before the implementation of construction activities, N.V. Bagrov TNU looked from the outside approximately the same as the Crimean Agricultural Institute (photo 4). However, the internal content did not develop much. It is understandable. After all, construction is the biggest rollback. But the management of TNU allocated scanty money for educational technologies and science. Only where window dressing was needed, money was allocated. This applies to corridors, toilets, computer rooms, the main reading room of the library, conference rooms and an assembly hall, a winter garden. In general, where distinguished guests are usually brought to show "achievements". But what underlies the assessment of any university - the level of scientific publications has never been of interest to management.

About university science

However, this is a problem for all universities in Ukraine. The state was not particularly involved in science. I have already written about this problem on the example of another institute.
Recently, I specifically went to a friend's laboratory and asked what they expect from the "occupiers".
It turned out that nothing is clear so far and no special moves have been made. The salary, except for the coefficient of 3, was raised, but they pay irregularly and it is not clear how much they now have. But obviously enough, because the friend did not complain about the lack of money and kept trying to run to the store.
It turned out that most of all they want to update their fleet of devices. All the years of independence, they were practically not supplied. Bought only computers and office equipment. The most modern device they have is a Chinese tester for 70 gr. bought with my own money. I did not believe it, then a friend said: "Look, you will find a modern device, I will put a bottle."
I did not find anything that would look like new devices, but I was surprised that Soviet rarities still work for them. Which in other respects is not surprising because many devices have a "Quality Mark". For example, I took a few pictures from the front panels.

They hope that with the advent of Russia everything will change for the better. The new Federal University was allegedly promised 5 billion rubles. "Probably not only testers will buy," the friend hopes. And he also wants that they, three candidates of sciences already over 50 years old, were allocated at least one engineer's position in the laboratory, so that they could own a soldering iron and know hardware programming.
“You know how sick of doing everything yourself. One repair of all this junk takes time. We see a whole rack of burnt appliances. It doesn’t cost anything to fix them, but everything takes time. Instead of counting something or writing an article, I have to poking around with a screwdriver and a soldering iron," the friend complains. - "Yes, and a laboratory assistant would not hurt, otherwise there is no one to wipe the dust," my friend is already dreaming.
He told me a joke. At first, they wanted to call the new university Tauride Federal University or TFU for short. But now they realized that such a spitting name would not work, and they named KFU. The name of Vernadsky was left.

History of the Crimean University

Vernadsky indeed at one time worked as a professor at Taurida University back in the troubled years of the civil war, and even in 20-21 he was rector.
Initially, the university included approximately the same areas that will now be part of the Federal University.
The history of the creation of the university is quite interesting. Before the revolution, Simferopol was a completely unimportant provincial town. However, some kind of science was present in the Crimea, and the provincial zemstvo decided to allocate funds for the creation of a university. But then the World War began, and all these plans were postponed until better times. After the tsar was thrown off at the beginning of 17, the buildings in Livadia were vacated. Then the Yalta public launched an active activity in order to take away the former royal mansions for the university being created. This activity was supported by Kiev University and agreed to create its own branch in Yalta. It must be said that the UNR had already been proclaimed in Kyiv at that time. Crimea and part of the current Kherson region were part of the Taurida province. Therefore, Kyiv extended its jurisdiction to the Crimea. But in the hectic seventeenth year, the organizational red tape dragged on.
But then a coup took place in St. Petersburg and the Bolsheviks came to power. In Soviet history textbooks, it was said that epoch-making changes began literally immediately, but in fact, most people did not notice this very revolution right away at first. Only in the spring of 18, the bourgeois began to experience various persecutions, and many decided to leave the capitals for the south in order to wait out the troubled times. Many rich people, as now, had their own dachas in the Crimea.
At this time, the Germans had already arrived in Crimea, providing relative order. The activists resumed their efforts again and in May 1918 announced the opening of a university in Yalta.
And then it started. A civil war broke out in the country. Many decided to wait out in the Crimea. Now the summer was ending, but the war in Russia did not subside. In addition to all sorts of bourgeois, other privileged classes, in particular, all professors, came to rest in the Crimea. And the professors got used to work. Do different sciences or at least teach students. And here it also fortunately happened that for various reasons quite a lot of students from different universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities got stuck in the Crimea.
Everything seemed to work out. And the desire of local enthusiasts to open a university and the metropolitan professorship stuck in the Crimea, and wandering students. In October 1918, the local authorities, still under the Germans, finally officially opened a university in the Crimea. But by this time he had already been transferred to Simferopol.
Initially, the following faculties were organized here: physics and mathematics, medical, agronomy, history and philology and law.
Already in the first years of Soviet power, the university was divided into the Crimean Pedagogical Institute, the Agricultural Institute and the Medical Institute.
So now, after the merger of the same universities, there should be a return to the original composition, but at a different level.
Although the doctors resisted especially strongly and did not want to lose their independence, they were persuaded.
Through my friend I will follow the progress of the changes.

Higher education is the road to the future life. What it will be depends on the chosen educational institution, because it invests knowledge in people, helps to acquire important practical skills, and develop personal qualities. Krymsky opens wide opportunities for students. When it was created, a huge number of educational institutions were united in order to improve the educational process, develop scientific and international activities. What is this organization, and what feedback do students and alumni leave about it today? These are the questions we have to deal with today.

History and current state

In 2014, Vernadsky Crimean Federal University began functioning in Simferopol. The corresponding order of the Government of the Russian Federation was issued on August 4. It listed 7 educational and 7 scientific organizations that were to be included in the structure of the federal university.

The emerging educational institution was later issued a license to conduct educational activities. In the spring of 2015, the university passed the state accreditation procedure for existing educational programs. Today, the Federal University in Crimea is a young and rapidly developing organization with a huge number of structural divisions and branches. It currently has over 30,000 students. Rector of the Crimean Federal University - Ilshat Rafkatovich Gafurov.

KFU in numbers

The considered educational institution is the leading educational organization of the Crimean peninsula. If you study the university in numbers, you can highlight the following important indicators:

  • the university has more than 200 areas of training and specialties for bachelor's, specialist's, master's, postgraduate and residency studies;
  • 220 additional professional programs have been developed at the university, 77 advanced training programs and 45 professional retraining programs are being implemented;
  • In addition to programs of higher and additional education, the educational institution implements quite a few programs of secondary vocational education.

Future plans

Crimean Federal University is a modern large university, which many applicants aspire to enter. The staff of the higher educational institution does not plan to stop at the current achievements and has huge plans for the future.

In educational activities, the university will:

  • introduce modern technologies and equipment into the educational process,
  • develop new competitive programs that meet the needs of the labor market,
  • create scientific laboratories and centers equipped with modern equipment. For example, in 2016, the university undertook the formation of 19 laboratories and centers.

Development will continue in scientific activity.

Advantages of the university, which are told to applicants

The federal university attracts applicants with its merits, which other universities in Crimea do not have. Here are some of them:

  1. The educational institution strives to meet the requirements of modern life. The university provides students with educational laboratories, computer classes, multimedia studios.
  2. Studying at the Crimean Federal University is not only attending lectures and seminars. Each student has the opportunity to plunge into the scientific life of the university. Competitions of student works and conferences are regularly held within the walls of the educational institution. Students also take part in rallies, all-Russian forums.
  3. The university is also interested in applicants by the fact that cultural life is in full swing in it. During extracurricular time, students find classes to their liking in creative studios and teams.

Opinions of applicants on admission to higher education programs

Applicants entering the Crimean Federal University are lost in the choice of specialties. People claim that in an educational institution higher education can be obtained in a wide range of areas of training, of which there are more than fifty. All of them are combined into several groups:

  • natural sciences ("Physics", "Chemistry", "Geography", etc.);
  • technical ("Technical physics", "Electric power industry and electrical engineering", etc.);
  • agricultural ("Agronomy", "Gardening", "Agroengineering", etc.);
  • pedagogical (for example, "Pedagogical education" with different training profiles);
  • humanitarian ("History", "Philology", etc.);
  • socio-economic ("Economics", "Management", "Trade", etc.);
  • creative (for example, "Graphics");
  • medical ("Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Pharmacy", etc.).

Admission to the university, like other universities of the Crimea, is carried out on a competitive basis. To participate in the competition, you must submit documents to the selection committee. Persons entering after school must have USE results. Applicants with higher or secondary vocational education pass entrance examinations at the university.
