Seven overpasses on the MCC were updated to launch passenger traffic as part of the reconstruction of the ring. The work was carried out at the expense of the city budget. The reconstruction of the Mozhaisky, Leningradsky, Susokolovsky, Zvenigorodsky, Koptevsky and two Volokolamsky (road and tram) overpasses has been completed. Now work is underway at Bogorodskoye.

Overpass across the MCC from Prud Klyuchiki Street to 1st Frezernaya Street

The construction of the overpass began in May 2018, and it is planned to complete it by the end of 2019. New overpass will provide motor transport links between the Entuziastov Highway and Ryazansky Prospekt.

To improve the transport service of the Lefortovo and Nizhegorodsky districts in the south-east of Moscow, the following is envisaged:

  • reconstruction of Pond Klyuchiki street (main street district significance) with the expansion of the roadway to four traffic lanes - 0.98 km;
  • construction of an overpass railways- 106.9 m;
  • construction of a side passage along Prud Klyuchiki Street;
  • arrangement of two U-turns on the section of Prud Klyuchiki Street;
  • arrangement of junctions to Andronovskoye Highway, Frazer Highway and 1st Frezernaya Street;
  • reconstruction and laying of engineering networks.

The overpass is three-span. Its width will be 24.14 m.

Reconstruction of the Bogorodsky overpass

The Bogorodsky overpass was built in 1907 during the construction of the Small District Railway Bridge. In 1973, it was partially reconstructed, replacing the old superstructure.

To start traffic on the Moscow central ring(MCC) many railway overpasses had to be updated, as the old dimensions of the bridges did not allow modern trains to run around the ring. For this old bridge dismantled and built a new one - almost a meter higher and four meters longer than the previous one. Traffic is organized in one lane in each direction.

The Bogorodsky overpass connects two districts of the Eastern District: Bogorodskoye and Metrogorodok.

The opening of traffic road overpass allowed:

  • reduce the time of traffic to Mira Avenue and VDNKh metro station;
  • remove social tension due to the prolonged blocking of traffic on the street. Losinoostrovskaya during the reconstruction of the overpass.
  • provide height normative dimensions for electrification and installation contact network on the Moscow Central Ring.

Reconstruction of the Volokolamsk overpasses

This project is called the most difficult, because not only highway and tram rails, but also the heating network overpass. After the reconstruction, the number of lanes for vehicles increased from 6 to 10. Here, one dedicated lane appeared in each direction for traffic public transport.

Reconstruction of the Mozhaisk overpass

The builders replaced the main supporting structures of the facility and updated the road surface. The bridge itself has been expanded, additional dedicated lanes for public transport have been equipped on it, which together will lead to an increase in the throughput and reliability of the overpass as important object road infrastructure.

Construction works on the Mozhaysky overpass (its length is 75.9 m, width - 67.2 m) were carried out as part of the reconstruction of Mozhaysky highway and Kutuzovsky Prospekt.

To ensure the safety of metro passengers in the area of ​​the Kutuzovskaya station, where open paths Filevskaya line, the builders built a protective dome of metal structures.

Reconstruction of the Leningrad overpass

The overpass was raised one and a half meters up, which will allow the installation of new equipment for the launch of electric trains. The contractor managed to carry out the work without closing the traffic. Moreover, after completion of work highway was expanded to two lanes.

Reconstruction of the Zvenigorod overpass

The overpass connected 1st Magistralnaya Street, separated by railways of the Small Ring, with 1st Silikatny passage and Zvenigorodskoe highway.

Traffic on the North Bridge is organized in four lanes - two in each direction. With right side in the direction of travel to the 1st Magistralnaya Street, a sidewalk 2.25 meters wide appeared. On the sections from 1st Magistralnaya Street to the entrance to the garages and from the garages to 3rd Magistralnaya Street, a local passage is provided.


Reconstruction of the Koptevsky overpass

The work has been completed.

The overpass is located in the north of Moscow and connects Narvskaya and Clara Zetkin streets through the MCC tracks. Its length is 79 meters, width - about 8 meters.

During its 100-year history, the overpass was reconstructed once, more than 60 years ago. A year ago, the builders were given the task to replace the old bridge with a new one, which would be a meter higher and almost four times longer.

This was necessary to launch passenger traffic along the MCC. The dimensions of the old overpass did not allow modern rolling stock to pass through.

Traffic on the overpass is two-way - one lane in each direction. A wide sidewalk was made for pedestrians. The surrounding streets have also been reconstructed. For public transport are equipped with driving pockets.

The reconstruction of the Bogorodsky overpass on Losinoostrovskaya Street should be completed by the New Year. In total, by the end of 2017, the construction and reconstruction of 12 overpasses across the railway lines will be completed in the capital.

Six times more

The other day, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin inspected the construction of an overpass at the 36th kilometer of the Kyiv direction of the Moscow railway, in Krekshino. It is planned to build a flyover 168 meters long with one lane in each direction. Additional congresses and junctions will also be made, reconstruction will take place road network. Sidewalks with a width of 1.5 to 2.5 meters and two staircases will be built for pedestrians. Ground pedestrian crossings will be equipped taking into account the needs of people with limited mobility.

The construction of the overpass began in January this year and now the object is already 60% ready. Completion of construction is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2017, but Sergei Sobyanin instructed the contractor to speed up the construction.

- Every year, the intensity of train traffic increases, in connection with this, crossings over the railway become more and more problematic, hundreds of cars accumulate. In particular, here in Krekshino there is a difficult railway crossing, traffic jams are constantly accumulating, but I hope that they will not be there soon,” said the mayor of Moscow.

It is expected that after the completion of construction throughput crossing will grow 5-6 times, there will be able to pass not 350, but up to 2100 cars per hour in each direction. In addition, this will ensure unimpeded traffic between the Kievskoye, Borovskoye and Minskskoye highways.

Both in old and in new Moscow

Over the past three years, six new overpasses across the railway tracks have been built in Moscow, and six more will be built and reconstructed over the next year. On the territory of New Moscow, overpasses are being built in Peredelkino, Shcherbinka, Krekshino and Kokoshkino, within the Moscow Ring Road - in the area of ​​Yuzhnoportovaya Street, and the overpass at 7 km Paveletsky direction MZD has already been put into operation.

Also, during the reconstruction of the MCC, the modernization of overpasses over these railway tracks was also planned. The Leningradsky, Mozhaysky, Zvenigorodsky, Volokolamsky, Koptevsky overpasses have already been put into operation.

The bridge prevented electrification

The last of the "updated" overpasses over the MCC - Bogorodsky - is located in Eastern District, on Losinoostrovskaya street. When the reconstruction of the future MCC began, it turned out that the old bridge, due to its small height, interferes with the electrification of this section of the railway tracks. In this regard, the construction of a new overpass that meets modern requirements has begun.

Since Losinoostrovskaya Street was thereby “torn” into two parts, public transport routes were also changed: it was decided that buses, having reached the overpass, should turn around, and passengers, having crossed to the other side of the railway tracks on foot, change to buses with the same numbers continuing the route.

The overpass appeared here 110 years ago together with the railway ring, in 1973 it was partially reconstructed - then the old span was replaced. Now the overpass has been completely rebuilt, it has been made taller and longer, and the number of lanes has remained the same - one in each direction. Almost a meter higher, the overpass above the railway was raised so that “Lastochka” could rush through the MCC under it - the overpass is located not far from the Belokamennaya station.

Andrey ANDREEV, Chief Engineer contractor: The main tasks of the construction were to change the size of the planned height position of the overpass. The height clearance for unhindered movement along the MCC has increased and the planned position has changed, that is, it has become longer, again this was due to the reconstruction of the MCC. Longer, because there were two tracks along the old one, and in connection with the reconstruction, another track appeared, and therefore it was necessary to lengthen the overpass and build an additional support.

The length of the overpass is slightly more than 40 meters, but, as Sergei Sobyanin noted on his Twitter, such a small section of the road is very important for residents of the metro town - they have been waiting for the opening of a new overpass in the old place for two years. It was completed at the beginning of 2017, problems arose with the documentation. All this time, Losinoostrovskaya Street was torn into two parts, because of this, the bus traffic pattern in the area had to be changed, now passengers will be able to get to the VDNKh metro station or Sokolniki faster.

In addition to Bogorodsky, overpasses were opened this year in Krekshin, at the Peredelkino platform and on Yuzhno-Portovaya Street. The Bogorodsky overpass will become part of Northeast chord, which will run along the MCC and connect new road from Losinoostrovskaya street.

Construction work on the overpass, which has existed since 1907, is being carried out in connection with the complete reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Railway (for the launch of the MCC - ed.). For the organization of passenger transportation, it was necessary to change its dimensions, i.e. to actually carry out capital work. In June 2016, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction Marat Khusnullin reported that the Bogorodsky overpass was located in high degree readiness and reconstruction is planned to be completed before the end of the year.

The bridge in question is located at the junction of two districts - Bogorodskoye and Metrogorodok, more precisely - at the intersection of Losinoostrovskaya and MCC streets. According to the documentation, the general contractor, and the tender for the performance of work with a total cost of 108.3 million rubles was won by TVA GROUP, was obliged to dismantle the existing bridge structures, build a new one with the installation of retaining walls and reorganize communications. As a result, the length of the overpass will increase from 38.5 m to 42.5 m with a width of 11.2 m.

Traffic on it should be two-way: one lane 3.5 m wide in each direction. By the way, the list of duties of the contractor includes commissioning and landscaping. Also, the overpass reconstruction project provides for the possibility of its extension for additional railway tracks and a highway - the North-Eastern Chord.

The whole company was given a year and a half, but the deadlines were repeatedly postponed.
