Installation and consecration of the monument to Ivan 3. Monument to Ivan III opened in Kaluga

IVAN OF ALL RUSSIA, COLLECTOR OF RUSSIAN LAND! EUROPEAN AND STATEMAN! FOUNDER OF THE EMPIRE AND THE POWER OF RUSSIA! HOLY AND GREAT IVAN, HATED BY ALL ENEMIES OF RUSSIA (by the way, Putin's historical totem)

Installation of a monument to Lubyanka Square(Lubenitsy - that's what it was called by the Novgorodians resettled in the city of Moscow by Ivan III) the first in the history of the Sovereign of All Russia, who united Russia and expanded its borders right up to Siberia - the Tsar of Moscow and All Russia Ivan III Vasilyevich. aka Ivan Vasilyevich, aka Ivan III, aka Ivan the Great, aka Ivan the Holy, aka Ivan the Terrible (not to be confused with John IV Vasilyevich, also called Grozny by analogy ... oh, laurels of glory))) act of restoration historical justice.

Ivan III received a small principality, and left a whole state, it was he who became the first and only Orthodox and independent sovereign in the world, it was he who, having married Sophia Paleolog, became the heir to the forcibly interrupted branch Byzantine emperors, having received the exclusive right to claim the entire territory of the former Orthodox Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, "temporarily" (as it was thought then) seized by non-Christians.

It was he who introduced the political use of the word "tsar" and "Russia", coat of arms Russian monarchy(Byzantine double-headed eagle). And the first Western diplomat in Russia also appeared under him - the ambassador of the Holy Roman Empire.
It is he:
- annexed Yaroslavl and Tver principality, Veliky Novgorod, Chernigov, Novgorod-Seversky, Putivl and ... 16 more cities.
- defeated Lithuanians and Livonians
- created an analogue of the general staff - the Discharge Prika, as well as the GRU, FSO, MTR, and SVR ...
- put an end to the Tatar "yoke" (for which he was awarded the title of Saint), first stopped paying tribute to the Golden Horde, and then, with little bloodshed on the Ugra, put the troops of Khan Akhmat to flight.
- created the first post office, the first firefighters, the first policeman, the first industrial developments in the Pechora (they began to mint coins from their precious metal), started the "modernization and industrialization" of All Great Russia.
- reformed and re-equipped the army (appearance of artillery and firearms)
- rebuilt the current Moscow Kremlin with Red Square (Fiorovanti and Solari), Nizhny Novgorod, and Novgorod, Ivan-Gorod.
- developed pr. art (the first sculpture in Russia - George the Victorious and Dmitry Solunsky, on the Spasskaya Tower,

Even Karl Marx, who hated Russia (like everyone ... like him) wrote about Ivan - “Amazed Europe, which at the beginning of the reign of Ivan III barely suspected the existence of Moscow, sandwiched between Lithuanians and Tatars, was taken aback sudden appearance colossal empire on her eastern borders”(K. Marx. Secret Diplomacy of the 18th Century, cited in: History of the USSR, vol. I, 2nd ed., 1948, pp. 259-290).

It’s not a shame, but the “Millennium of Russia” in Veliky Novgorod is the only (!) Monument on the planet where Ivan III is among the figures.
The merits of Ivan III the Great and Saint before the country are enormous and invaluable - without him united Russia it just wouldn't happen.

Lubyanka Square is the most "finished" from the standpoint of architecture european square Moscow - an ideal plastic, volumetric and spatial solution, but ... now without a monumental dominant - the center of space! The emptiness that requires organization is worthless, this is me to you as a well-deserved ... and a radical ...

By the way, there is both a project and a layout of the monument Ivan III Vorobyov - "The Creation of Russia by Ivan the Great" is called. But the Luzhkov commission on monumental art under the Moscow City Duma, it was not allowed to allow a monument to Tsar Ivan III to be erected in Moscow (as an option on Lubyanka Square), citing the fact that "there was no single assessment political events past" and that such decisions should be made by "future generations". 2006.

I remember in 2006, at the discussion of Vorobyov’s project, the chairman of the commission on monumental art at the Moscow City Duma, the Zionist from architecture Leva Lavrenov, hacked to death the project of the monument to Ivan III (destroying the idea of awakening RUSSIAN self-consciousness in the bud) justified himself:
- Such a monument is untimely, especially at the Lubyanka. The very figure of Ivan III is ambiguous and not so significant as to perpetuate him. Well, the project itself, of course ... Honestly, let the author not be offended, it resembles a cake that is stuck different figures rather, decorative elements. The area is round, it requires a dominant, not a fragmented composition. In any case, there must be some sort of vertical, something must hold the entire area.
- And why is Ivan's personality ambiguous?
- Ivan was NOT the only one who can be considered the creator of statehood. This is the opinion of historians who are members of our commission. ("Historians of Judea", like all members of the commissions under Luzhkov-Katz, was entirely of peysate-nosed nationality)
At the request to voice the names of these Feuchtwangers. Leva named three Old Testament Methuselah Sergey Petrov, deputy chairman of the commission, head of the department of the Museum of Architecture. Shchuseva (engineer, lecturer, president of the Soviet Committee of the International Council of Monuments and Sites), the elderly Judith - director of the Moscow History Museum Galina Vedernikova (candidate historical sciences, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation) and the "rusty mouthpiece of Israel" Larisa Vasilyeva ("poet", "historian" and "peisatel", author of books and television programs "Kremlin Wives" and "Children of the Kremlin")
- But I myself am a historian too, that is, I have four with me.

Seeing that I was getting up from my chair, grey-haired Methuselah, obeying an ancient instinct, hastily retreated. (I wouldn’t beat him, but he could not restrain himself and spit, otherwise he hung swear words on the stooped fat carcass, interspersing them with Tsereteli, Rukavishnikov, Shemyakin, ...).

This scum, with all its synodal choir, is still holding the line in the commission. Yes, not only in the commission, they clogged everywhere, sinus clots! In general, NO PASSARAN! RUSSIANS WILL NOT PASS!
I hope now it’s clear why THEY are throwing misinformation with a monument to Felix - yes, yes, exactly, so that NOTHING IS STANDING. Don't let Yahweh, Ivan the Terrible!

PS I heard President Medinsky instructed Minister Medinsky to probe the electorate in order to install a monumental composition to Ivan the Great, but he again scored matzah in his mouth. If he voices it, such a gevalt will begin, oh wei!

15:05 — REGNUM The monument to the Grand Duke of Moscow Ivan III was solemnly opened today, November 12, in front of the regional administration building on Stary Torg Square in Kaluga, a correspondent reports. IA REGNUM.

The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, governor Kaluga region Anatoly Artamonov and other officials.

The author of the idea of the artistic solution of the bronze sculpture director Andrey Konchalovsky congratulated Kaluga residents on video broadcast. Monument to Ivan III - the work of a Moscow sculptor Andrey Korobtsov. The rite of consecration of the monument to Ivan III was performed by the Archbishop of Pesochensky and Yukhnovsky Maximilian.

On the same day, Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky gave a lecture on Grand Duke Ivan III and the history of his reign in the Innovative cultural center Kaluga.

Meanwhile, the monument to Prince Ivan III erected in Kaluga is already the second monument to this Russian ruler in the Kaluga region.

In July 2017, the first in Russia 4.5-meter bronze monument to the "Sovereign of All Russia" Grand Duke Ivan III was erected in memory of the Great Standing on the Ugra in the Vladimir Skete of the Holy Dormition Tikhon's Hermitage. This monument to Ivan III was made with money raised by the monastery. The monument is part architectural complex"Museum-diorama of Pavel Ryzhenko "The Great Standing on the Ugra River in 1480".

It is interesting that they have come down to our days as a lifetime verbal portrait Grand Duke of Moscow Ivan III, and his lifetime image.

However, these images are very arbitrary. So, one of the few descriptions of the “ruler of Great White Russia” was left by a Venetian who was in Moscow in 1476 Ambrogio Contarini: “The mentioned sovereign is 35 years old; he is tall but thin; In general, he is a very nice person.”

In addition, there is also an assumption that Ivan III was noticeably stooped, since in some sources he is mentioned with the nickname "Hunchback". The lifetime image of Ivan III dates back to the end of the 15th century. It's about about the famous embroidered veil, created, apparently, in the workshop of the daughter-in-law of Grand Duke Elena Voloshanka, where solemn ceremony on the feast of Palm Sunday, April 8, 1498, with the removal of the icon of Our Lady Hodegetria. Among those present, it is believed, the entire grand ducal family is depicted, including Dmitry Vnuk (he is shown with a halo, as if he was married to a great reign), the future Basil III(only in the crown, without a halo) and Sophia Paleolog. In the middle row on the left, the procession is led by a man in a three-part crown and also with a halo over his head - obviously, this is Ivan III himself, an old man with gray hair and a long bifurcated gray beard. However, the most frequently reproduced portrait of Ivan III is his profile portrait from the book of the French traveler Andre Thevet "General Cosmography", published in Paris in 1575.

Despite today's celebrations, not all Kaluga residents favorably reacted to the installation of a monument to the Grand Duke on the Stary Torg square in Kaluga in front of the regional administration building. Previously, on this site for 33 years, since October 10, 1984, there was a monument to V.I. Lenin. However, on the night of May 31, 2017, the monument to Lenin in Kaluga was secretly transferred to a nearby square, where it was installed on a concrete base, previously prepared for the monument to Ivan III.

The Kaluga region is closely connected with the history of the reign of Ivan III.

“The era of Ivan the Third, the creator of the centralized Muscovite state, predetermined the future development of Russia. This is an era of great territorial and cultural gains and relative peace.” - said earlier the head of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

The monument is installed on main square Kaluga in front of the building of the regional government. Ivan III is depicted kneeling on one knee with a powerful movement throwing right hand forward, in the left he holds a scepter with an eagle. On the monument there is an inscription: "The sovereign, who united the Russian lands around Moscow, put an end to the Horde yoke, issued a code of judicial laws", built the Moscow Kremlin, established the coat of arms of Russia - the double-headed eagle.

The participants of the rally called the opening of the monument historical event. The monument, designed to perpetuate the era of the reign of Ivan III, was installed by the Russian Military Historical Society. Over the four years of the RVIO, about 200 monuments have been erected, but this one, as it was said at the rally, is special. Work on it went all these four years. The author of the idea of the artistic solution of the monument is Andrei Konchalovsky, the talented sculptor Andrei Korobtsov embodied the image of the ruler in bronze. Konchalovsky was unable to come to Kaluga - he is now filming a film in Italy, but sent a video message to the people of Kaluga, which was broadcast on the big screen.

It's a pity that I can't attend the opening. The fact that in Russia there was no monument to the founder of the state - flagrant injustice. Finally, this injustice is eliminated. I am with you with all my heart.

Andrei Konchalovsky spoke about the creation of the monument. According to him, many artists tried to create the image of Ivan the Great, but not everyone succeeded. In the end, the work of a young talented sculptor Andrei Korobtsov was approved.

The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky also spoke about the return of justice in relation to "one of the greatest, most powerful, effective, but for some reason underestimated ruler."

In fact, he was the creator of that state, the heirs of which we are all, - Medinsky emphasized. - ... When we talk about the subsequent victories of our country, we are talking about Russia, created by Ivan the Great. Only three rulers received the name "great" - Peter, Catherine and Ivan III. The installation of this monument is a vivid historical gesture of the unity and continuity of history.

In turn, the head of the region, Anatoly Artamonov, stressed that a monument was erected to the man who forced the whole world to recognize the territory of the previously fragmented principalities as a single state.

There were disputes around the installation of a monument to Ivan the Great in Kaluga, but not about the need for the monument itself. Kaluga residents just agree with this: the place of the famous standing on the Ugra, which put an end to Horde yoke bloodless "battle", - here it is near. Discussions, polls public opinion were talking about the place of installation of the monument. In the end, most of the townspeople agreed with the transfer of the monument to Lenin from the main square to the square in the neighborhood, where, by the way, it historically stood until the 80s of the last century, and to erect a monument to Ivan the Great in front of the regional government building.

Installed in a fair place, - said Anatoly Artamonov. - The place of self-assertion of Russia.

Hundreds of Kaluga residents came to the celebration, agreeing with this restored justice.
