Safarli personal life. About the Turkish-Russian conflict

November 18, 2013, 21:48

Born on March 12, 1984 in the city of Baku. Safarli is a professional journalist, laureate of a number of youth literary competitions. My father is a pilot with 40 years of experience, he lifts a Boeing into the air every day. Brother is a designer. From the age of 12 he published in youth newspapers under a pseudonym, writing small poignant stories right behind school desk. From the age of 16 he has been working in print media, having entered the International University of Azerbaijan under UNESCO at the Faculty of Journalism. For the last few years he has been a TV journalist. Collaborated with Azerbaijani and Turkish TV channels. Currently, he devoted himself entirely to writing.

Safarli earned immediately after the release of the first book - "Sweet Salt of the Bosporus".

In 2011, a short film “Alone with everyone” was shot about Safarli (directed by Sergey Sarakhanov).

In 2013, he published the book "When I'm Without You" co-authored with Yana Shakunova.

Elchin Safarli writes so strongly about love, about the meaning of life, that all his books literally "scattered" into quotes across the Internet.

"I'll come back"

Individuality in love must be preserved. Otherwise, over time, feelings will die ...

We are often expected exactly where we do not want to return ...

Women recognize the character of a man silently. We do not ask questions, we do not climb into the soul. We look, we listen, we feel. We act without words ...

love is complemented by anything but pride...

Pride is often blamed by those who lack courage...

Passion strengthens the immunity of love.

I was born at dawn. According to the Egyptians, the children of the sun give more than they take. This is true. I lived, I live with the pain of other people's hearts

In love, freedom cannot be strangled ...

A man should worry about a woman. Yes, yes, it is to worry, not to suspect

… With age, the lack of courage is felt more acutely. Every day it is harder to laugh at your own mistakes - now they are more unforgivable. Every month it is more painful to get used to, try on - now you want to be adjusted to you ... Growing up consists of whims, stubbornness, selfishness of childhood. The ingredients are the same, only the form of manifestation becomes more complicated ...

The main thing in the life of any person is the opportunity to share love. It might sound trite. But it is. Check...

... life is not at all like a collection of aphorisms about it.

"You were promised to me"

... the one who knows not much, but the necessary is wise.

Any woman is waiting for someone who will take responsibility for her, and no one likes to make final decisions.

Still, women are much better than men. We are brainless selfish, narcissistic whiners. We do too much for public opinion. And women believe in us to the last and, I am sure that many, if I shared my thoughts with them, would say: “No, my Vanya (Vano, Johan, John, Juan or Yahya) is not like that!” They are able to find excuses for us - that is their absolute advantage.

"If you could know"

I must have been a bad friend, since those with whom I once held hands do not remember me.

Jealousy in a man should be. But it should not be visible, like salt in delicious food. Yes, and a lot depends on the woman - often jealousy causes a lack of openness in relationships. If her "own space" has too high walls, then he feels it, begins to harass. The whole secret is in concessions ...

There are two people in me. One always despairs and defends himself, he has “fuck off” written on his forehead. The second fights back, carefully masks the traces of defeat and rushes headlong towards life. I will never bring them together.

How sad I was to let go of loved ones! It is bitter, painful and ashamed that I did not see it, I allowed it, I was left alone. With longing and pain, but most importantly - I still let them go.

Every woman is waiting, every one is in dire need of a man-savior. But not everyone admits it out loud.

A wise woman will remain silent at first, but then, when the man calms down, she will definitely say her word and get what she wants.

I always wanted such calmness, such a soft breeze from the half-open window, such a silent man with beautiful hands. And such faith in tomorrow, especially if it can be the last.

Unrequited love is like... a sore throat. Quite compatible with life, just unpleasant, but it is impossible not to think about it. Tea with lemon and honey helps for a while, and also time and silence. When you speak, it only becomes more painful - even the breath intercepts.

No one will ever understand your sadness the way you experience it. Since then, I stopped telling my friends what was happening to me. Yes, they could listen to me, nod, even understand something, but still I did not get the reaction that I expected from them.

We, women, want to scroll through the past days of our man, not in order to study the “enemy”, not to step on the same rake or work out the best strategy behavior, but just ... to be aware. Create a new invisible connection, comfort and psychological protection from trouble. The better you know a person, the faster and more accurately you can guess his reactions. At the same time, we listen carefully, without violating the boundaries of the narrator. But then, if something remains unsaid, we will certainly return, tactfully find out - unpretentiously, between times.

Sometimes it seems to me that I am too demanding of love, so she is afraid of me. For example, I don’t like it when a woman calls a man with whom she lives for a long time, but is not married, “husband”. Maybe I'm too categorical, but a husband is a husband. And Vasya, Petya is a beloved man, “bunny”, “masik”. In general, who is sweet to the heart, but not the husband.

Interesting all the same creatures people. We are raised by mothers and fathers, we play in the yard with boys and girls, we are friends with brothers and sisters, and then suddenly one complete stranger becomes the closest. So close that it takes your breath away.

Holding on to the present is so important. The real is like suspension bridge. It cannot be strong and concrete, like the past, which no longer frightens, because it has passed. There are no guarantees in the present - you may be rocked from side to side, you may feel dizzy, but the main thing is that you are on your feet and have the opportunity to take a step forward. And it should be appreciated...

Hearing silence in response is the most painful thing for a woman. Better let him say that he fell out of love. Better let it push offensive word and shout: "I'm tired of your love!" Anything but silence. It kills. How? The fact that she does not know: he still loves or really stopped loving.

You also get used to loneliness. A completely harmonious union is even possible with him: you live alone with yourself, cook dinner for one, fall asleep in front of the TV and do not wait for the appearance of a savior, which still happens only in books and films. Yes, this loneliness is painful, frosty, but it is honest - it is better to be alone than with just anyone.

But personally, I take defeats too hard, although I understand with my mind that they are often beneficial. However, the very fact that I did not achieve, did not fight, did not receive, torments me for a long time.

His books tell about human experiences, everyday, comprehensive and deep. It is hard to part with the books of the young Azerbaijani writer Elchin Safarli, who is called the most sincere writer of the East, because in them you can find yourself, those experiences and sensations that every person encounters in life. Safarli, in an exclusive interview with Sputnik Georgia, spoke about the dream of living in Tbilisi, about love, about when he is going to return to the sunny capital of Georgia, and about his work, which so agitated the hearts of people.

Elchin, I want to ask you so many questions that hundreds of interviews are not enough. I will try to ask about the most exciting. You wrote your first novel "Sweet Salt of the Bosporus" at work, during your lunch breaks. How did it work? As a rule, writers need silence and a cozy environment. Can you write anywhere?

- I remember well the time when I wrote "Sweet Salt of the Bosporus". It seems like it was yesterday, even though eleven years have passed. I worked for a construction company, a boring and uninteresting job that paid well. The only happy experiences for which I wanted to return to the office were meetings with the novel. Colleagues left for lunch, and I, snacking on an apple, described my Istanbul story, published it in an online diary and did not even think that it would become a book. My Moscow friends read it, advised me to collect the notes into one document and send them to Russian publishing houses. And so he did. A positive response came three days later. Now "Sweet Salt of the Bosporus" seems to me childish babble, sometimes poorly written. This is part of my path - imperfect, changeable, but beloved.

And I write in different places. More often in the silence of the house. Although yesterday I sketched an essay on a ferry across the Bosphorus. I believe in skill and work - these two ways can lead to success. Muse is a fickle substance, it is undesirable to become attached to it.

IN last years there is a growing number of agnostics in the world. This trend also appeared in your first novel. Do you share the same faith as your heroes?

Everyone chooses what to believe in. I think the main thing is to have as much compassion as possible in faith. The relationship between man and religion is now in crisis. A lot of bad things happen under religious cover. It used to be, but in today's world it has become very aggravated. If each of us is tolerant of the other, does not confuse freedom with permissiveness and starts doing more good, we will change the situation for the better.

- In one of your novels you beautifully describe the moon over Tbilisi. What connects you with our capital?

— I love Tbilisi, this is a city where I want to return. It has a cozy intimacy. He sounds beautiful. At the end of October I am going to come again for a couple of days, to recharge with the energy of this land. Tbilisi for me is leisurely walks, tasty food, beautiful people, the stories of Nodar Dumbadze and, of course, music. From the songs of "Orer" to Lela Tsurtsumiya (delighted by her song "Damigamda"). I also have relatives in Tbilisi. Aunt Mzia and her apple orchard.

Anastasia Guz

- Speaking of food. The books make you feel like you're a gourmet. What is your favorite Georgian cuisine?

Georgian cheeses and wine are my favourites. In Tbilisi I buy suluguni, spices and wine - the best gift you can't imagine friends. I hardly eat red meat, so I don't order khinkali. But I love snacks (oh, spinach pkhali!) and satsivi, it is very difficult to stop (smiles). And after such a hearty meal, you should definitely go for a walk along the streets of Tbilisi with old houses, which, unfortunately, are getting smaller. But this is life. A person must be ready for change.

Are you ready for big changes? Orhan Pamuk called you the future of Eastern literature. What else do you want to write about?

— I want to write about people, about the most simple things that worries everyone. About what inspires, not depresses (a lot is said and written about this even without me - just turn on the TV or open a newspaper). About the beauty of life in spite of difficulties and losses, and about the pointlessness of waiting for the "perfect time". Enjoy life right now, in this moment.

They say my stories inspire people. There can be no greater praise for me.

“Love is the engine of life. We are given the will to choose: to live life with love or without love. Although there are also such states when you cannot love anyone. I want to lock myself away from the whole world, because I don’t believe in anything. And this is normal and acceptable, we are not robots. Everything passes. One morning you wake up and realize that it has let go, it has passed. And smile at the world again.

- It sounds as if you understood something very important about life ... What do you dream about?

Live life with dignity. Do as little harm to the world as possible and do as much good for the world as possible. I strive for this every day. At the same time, I live my life the way I want to. And on this journey, it is very important for me not to lose respect for myself - neither now nor in old age. So that, looking at myself in the mirror, I did not want to spit in it.

- You write about it in your novels. What book would you recommend to get acquainted with your work?

- "Tell me about the sea" or "When I return, be at home" - it will be released in October current year. I love the way these stories are written. I like the idea behind them. It will be a pity if a reader who is not familiar with me forms an opinion about Safarli's work by reading the early texts first.

You are truly loved and expected. Before our meeting, I talked with fans of your work. She asked them what impressions they had of Elchin Safarli's books. People answered, I quote: “I cried with delight”, “Goosebumps”, “Every sentence is a quote”, “I fell in love with him”, “He warmed my soul”. And everyone asked me to thank you and asked if you were planning to come to us as a writer.

- I want to come, but exact dates I can't tell yet. You know, I once had a difficult period when I wanted to move to Tbilisi. Hide from everyone (from yourself, of course) in the lanes, get lost on the embankments. That did not happen. But I am grateful to your city for the feelings it gave me at that time. Hugs to my Georgian readers and hope to see you soon.
