Vedic spells. Atharvaveda ("Veda of spells") - one of the four Vedas that have survived to this day

Let's see what the Vedic spells are. The very word "Vedas" comes from the Sanskrit "knowledge", "teaching", which perfectly reflects true essence spells. Vedic spells are short, three or four words, magic formulas that have a strong energy message. They are called vibrational because their structure is such that it excites a strong energy vibration that literally breaks obstacles and is aimed at changing the situation in favor of the speaker.

Basically, mantras are also Vedic incantations. The difference lies in the fact that our Vedic spells are better suited for Russians, since they have a Slavic basis of formulas.

Vedic spells are designed to quickly resolve confusing situations and change fate. This is a kind of lifesaver in critical situations when you need to act quickly. I give you limited quantity such spells, because a person must be able to work, and not receive everything at once.

If you constantly use only this technique, your luck will quickly leave you, because inside you do not change, do not try to change the situation radically and work off your karma. Then, despite the spells, you can learn a very painful lesson.
Vedic spells are cosmic origin. This knowledge was acquired by my ancestors and has been passed down from generation to generation ever since. Please, without information, knowledge and skills, do not try to create your own spells! You may not get exactly the result you expect. Wrong vibrations can have a detrimental effect on both your body and Roman Fad. The big Book mage of life in general. That is why you should never cast spells while drunk or when your tongue is "braided". It is strictly forbidden to cast spells for people suffering from stuttering! They are encouraged to cast these spells mentally or ask close people to cast spells for them, best of all holding their hands. For best result Vedic incantations should be recited three or nine times. If it seems to you that a different number of utterances is required, do not be shy, intuition will tell you the required number. It is from the Vedic spells of our family that the development of subconscious codes comes, about which you already know quite a lot. But codes are a step-by-step, thorough, serious process, aimed at gradually changing all life, restructuring it on cellular level. Vedic spells - for quick and urgent help.

The first and most important Vedic spell . “Ve’da answered,” you say to ward off a negative signal and possible trouble from yourself. The Universe constantly gives us signals: warning or support, but we do not notice them, although they can help us accept correct solution or avoid a negative situation.

We are constantly under supervision higher mind who sees us both inside and out, and if we ask a question, there is always an answer to it. If a person does not know what to do, and makes a decision at the level of logic, thinking - most often he is mistaken. And then the well-known proverb works: “We wanted the best, but it turned out as always.” What should simple people do, not clairvoyant, not having intuition? First you need to get a hint, a signal - what to do next. To do this, you need to focus on the issue. There are many tools here: your own TV, one or another (best already empirically) a book, billboards - anything, you can get answers from any source.

How it's done in practice. We concentrate on the question and turn on the TV on any channel without looking, and immediately the first or second phrase is yours. If a person does not understand the first time, then he immediately switches to another channel (opens another page of the book and puts his finger on some phrase or word) and looks again. The result (sometimes on the third or fifth try) is a coherent picture of what to do and what not to do. (For more on signals, see The Secret of Magicians: The Keys to Happiness.)

So, to divert a negative signal, from ancient times there was the most powerful pagan spell e: "Ve'da otve'd." A person, having received a warning signal (best of all, when he is at a distant stage), must say to this signal three times: “We’ll take it, We’ll take it, We’ll take it.” The spell is pronounced with the intention that it this situation did not touch. The spell is great and powerful. If you have detected a signal at a distant stage, it is enough to cast the spell several times - and trouble will not affect you. If the signal has already come close, you will have to work through this spell for two or three weeks, a month. But nevertheless, if you work, you will really avert trouble in this case too.

To understand how close the signal is, think about how often you turn the current situation in your head and to what extent you are oppressed by it. This spell also works to ward off any situation: financial crisis, failure in love (if you are afraid of that) and even traffic jams. “Ve’da otve’d” is the central Vedic spell that averts any misfortune and danger.

Following Vedic spell works for your financial luck and sounds like this : "We'd vaya'na ma'ni go'ry".

When you walk into a bank or jewelry store, you cast this spell while mentally imagining it raining gold coins or dollar bills on you. When you receive a salary or fee for a job well done, you also cast this spell. Do not forget that you must pronounce it on the growing moon!

The projection of these words is a rather serious connection to the money egregore, especially if you do not create leads on quick receipt of money. Imagine that the world of money is actually huge. There are oceans of money in the world, the Universe is extremely abundant. If a person is connected to the world of money, they begin to go to him. Moreover, money often chooses the paths by which it comes. A person may not even be aware of it. Most importantly, he made the connection. Again, if he is karmicly hooked and immediately begins to wait for this money, he himself slows down the flow with this karmic hook. And if he does it easily and simply, according to the principle of the game, and even often not believing in it himself, then serious progress begins, great prospects open up, money begins to flow into the hands of a person most often from where he did not expect at all, and large sums . And each entry begins to intensify. Like attracts like. Money attracts money. Everyone knows this. You can cast this spell using any money magnets such as scarab or hotei. For example, you can do this: cover a scarab standing on a table or any other surface right hand and, leading them clockwise, say the spell: “Ve’d vaya’na ma’ni mountains” - it will work.

Another Vedic spell: "I am ya'va va'm." This is an exclusive option to attract attention.

It's no secret that a man, having met beautiful girl immediately presents her in bed. This is the psychology of a man and a scientifically proven fact. First look - score - view in bed. If he likes this performance, he decides - yes, you can get acquainted. Actions can be as follows. This method works 90 percent of the time. When a girl sits in a cafe and notices the one she likes young man, she can imagine herself completely naked. The object of attention begins to feel it at the subconscious level. And then you can come up, ask what time it is, ask for a lighter, or come up with some other insignificant reason. This is the simplest and effective method our ancestors. The spell can be pronounced mentally, looking at the person you like. This is an ancient pagan spell.

Love spells used to be called charms, charms in the language of the pagans, and by saying “I’m va va’m”, the girl sends a rather serious impulse to this person. If she touches his shoulder or arm, the momentum intensifies, the transfer of energy is more powerful. After working with this spell for a minute or two or three, the girl is already anchoring this person.

If after that she gives him the phone, he will definitely call. And in order for him to call, you must imagine that he called, and say the spell several times. If in the process of communication a girl uses a spell, a person will be completely enchanted. Enchantment is a fairly strong and serious love spell. Again, there is one caveat. In no case should this be done intrusively. When sending an energy message to a person, you need to pause, because when you are oversaturated with information. on the contrary, there is a negative reaction.

Another love spell: "Ved mi'ra veriho'd". Designed to locate the person you like. He begins to be interested in you, to show attention and care, wants to please. There is a feeling of love. Do not joke with the feelings of a person if you yourself are indifferent. Sooner or later you will have to answer for any actions you take. How? Fate will take care of itself.

One of the favorite spells is the following: "We'd genus melicho'd." It will help those who wants to maintain peace, tranquility and mutual understanding in the family. Works for all family members. You can say it on wedding rings or just repeat it from time to time. It does not require special rituals. If you feel some tension, repeat the spell three times and control the situation until it stabilizes.

One of my most used spells for good luck : "Ved veli'ko verida'y." Say it when you go to an important meeting or date, or just get out of bed in the morning. You will quickly see that it works. What is most interesting: it does not require rituals, candles and other things, it is enough to cast a spell at any time. right time. If you cannot remember it the first time, read it from a piece of paper or carry it with you.

I will reveal to you another secret hereditary spell passed down in our family from generation to generation: “Ved ma’na velih’od.” It helps the business not to stagnate, but to get further perspective development and extension. Those who are engaged own business understand how important this is. If you have a feeling that someone is sending damage or a curse on you, if your health is deteriorating day by day, and doctors only shrug, unable to diagnose you, you should use the spell: “Ved yamaga'na ve'ha prostrate." It works in such a way that it returns all the negativity to the one who sent it, without affecting the innocent. If you need support, cast the spell three times. Thus, you can track down who caused your troubles. The person will become ill, he will have the same symptoms that you had. It is not possible to remove the "return". Keep this in mind.

If you want justice and dream that the judicial machine works quickly and efficiently, say: “Vedyamaga'na ve'ha prostrate”. A quick and fair trial is guaranteed to you. Cast the spell when the process starts to slow down or if you suspect opposite side in dishonesty.

One more spell from malice : "We'dma answered." It is aimed at protection from ill-wishers. If you feel that someone has a grudge against you, say it nine times and forget it. Don't focus on the problem, relax. But if the situation continues to worsen - go to a specialist.

Vedic spells that I have already mentioned in last chapter, sound like this: “Ved mo’rok ya’da prostrate.” This spell is a talisman against corruption and curses. If you feel someone's negative attention - do not hesitate, cast this spell, and the negative will immediately go away.
"Ved rai varada'y" - a spell for good luck. It can be said every time before important meeting, negotiations, signing contracts or a date, before an exam or to recharge your talisman.

"Ved be'da lead" - a spell meant for your child's amulet. If there is no amulet, but you are sure that someone eyed your child the wrong way or said something dubious, cast the spell three or nine times. The spell will not harm an innocent person, only one who really wanted evil.
Please remember that Vedic spells are only part of the knowledge and skills you need. Expand your horizons, use different techniques in order to achieve a lasting result in changing your life for the better.

An excerpt from the book "The Big Book of the Magician" by Roman Fada, Piter Publishing House

Atharvaveda ("Veda of spells") - the name of one of the four sacred books"The Vedas of Ancient India". Ancient writings have been translated into many modern languages. Who might be interested in them? Hindus themselves recommend treating the knowledge contained in the Atharva Veda with extreme caution - only a person with with a pure heart? What are the consequences for everyone else?

Interest in the witchcraft conspiracies of the Vedas of Spells has not faded for more than three thousand years. There is no place in the book for lengthy philosophy, stories about the gods, their power and the need to worship them. The collection is valuable from a practical point of view. The Atharvaveda speaks of a person, his health, ailments, light and dark forces that can help and, accordingly, prevent one from enjoying life.

Here are collected descriptions of various rituals, texts containing great power(magic verses, spells, conspiracies), recipes for healing using herbs and plants. By the way, many of the rites of the ancient Hindus are very similar to those used by the Slavs. In order for witchcraft to work (an evil spirit is expelled, an enemy is punished, a disease is cured, etc.), you need to be imbued with the very spirit of this publication almost to the marrow of your bones. Still, this is not a collection of master classes on needlework. From time immemorial amazing features the book opened only to the chosen and initiated atharvans.

The Veda of Spells considers sounds and their combinations (mantras) to be one of the effective “medicines”. The pronunciation of such texts-formulas creates certain sound vibrations, which have the power and allow you to control the world of evil and good spirits. Sounds are sent to certain parts of the body that are ill, repeated many times. Then there is surely healing. Mantras are suitable for almost any purpose, from alleviating labor pains to losing weight and strengthening immunity.

Both the Indian sages and many Europeans who diligently studied the Atharvaveda learned not only to walk on glass and sleep on nails. They still perfectly mastered the art of levitation, that is, the ability to raise and even move their body above the surface of the earth. Atharvans are sure that the power of their own mind can be limitless. The main thing is to be able to manage the fifth element, the element of information.

Why is this book, one of the four sacred books - the Vedas of Ancient India, so reservedly perceived by the Hindus themselves? What are representatives of other religions - Buddhists and Jains - looking for in her texts?

Why are these ancient writings translated into modern languages and why can only people with a pure heart use the knowledge contained in a book called Atharvaveda (“Veda of Spells”)? For three thousand years, the initiates have been using the magical incantations of the Atharvaveda ...

Wisdom of the Rishi “Let me go, evil force; I beg you, let me go, the unfortunate victim of your malice! Get rid of this misfortune so that I can become happy again! If you do not deliver me, I will leave you at the nearest crossroads, and you will go away and cling to someone else. Go away, cling to someone else, inhabit my enemy, strike him!”
This is one of the witchcraft spells of the Atharva Veda. But if you thought that you can already use it for good or, unfortunately, for harm, then you are deeply mistaken. Together with witchcraft words, you need to perform a certain ritual.

Which? Here is his description. The action must be performed at night, pronouncing the spell and at the same time sifting dry grain, which should then be thrown into the river. In the morning next day must be thrown back into river water three pieces of bread as a sacrifice to a certain thousand-eyed spirit. Then, when you come to a crossroads, you need to scatter three handfuls of boiled rice on the four sides.

This is bait for evil spirit, which should move into the place intended for it ... By the way, similar rites were also found in the magic of the Slavs.

True, your witchcraft may not work, because you have not been imbued with the very spirit of the Atharva Veda. What kind of book is this? Atharva Veda - the oldest collection of Indian spells, witchcraft conspiracies. Written around the 1st millennium BC. e., it belongs to the earliest, Vedic period of ancient Indian literature. The Atharvaveda differs from other Vedas, scriptures, both in its content and in the rituals described. Other Vedas are addressed to the gods and talk about them, while the Atharva Veda speaks of a person, his health, illnesses, dark and light forces next to him. Its main content is spells related to healing, divination, witchcraft, magic verses, as well as the rules for treating various diseases with plants.

Atharvaveda, or secret book Atharvans, experts in secrets, refers directly to magic. However, this is not just a "textbook" on magic. It contains texts of curses and spells. The Atharvaveda sets out the foundations of magical knowledge. In an amazing book, two types of occult art are distinguished - according to their relationship to evil. An ancient Indian treatise touches on one of the key magical problems: if a spell can be beneficial or harmful, depending on the purpose for which it is used, should it be classified as black or white magic?

The Atharvans say that magic is perfectly acceptable, but only people with a pure heart can practice it. That is why for many centuries only the elite and initiated had the right to read the fourth Veda.
Three thousand years ago, someone (people or gods, some mind or otherworldly forces) discovered and dictated to seven Indian rishis - sages, seers - the text of the Atharva Veda. Thus, those who knew how to understand the innermost meaning of the Atharvaveda had powerful forces for influencing a person and spirits. Buddhists and Jains said that the Atharva Veda serves priests who bring human sacrifice. However, in fact, the book opened up amazing opportunities for the atharvans, or, if you like, the brahmins (priests).

The power of sound and others

Many Indians, for example, still believe, following their Atharvan teachers, that sound vibrations underlie the Universe and that all problems can be solved by singing a suitable mantra (combination of sounds). It is not without reason that in India they often repeat Magic word"om".

Indeed, there are words or sounds that have a power that, if repeated over and over again, allows a person to control the world of spirits. These words-sounds, mantras consist of separate syllables or short verses with hidden meaning which require deciphering to understand. Some mantras are composed, others are the result of meditation or inspiration, others are abbreviated incantations from the Atharva Veda. They can be directed to certain parts of the body, where they cause corresponding vibrations. This is especially important in healing, which is sure to come.

Before starting the ceremony, you must take off your shoes. Then the healers and sages of atharvana fold their palms and, turning to the gods, utter certain mantras. Each god or spirit is addressed differently. Kneeling, touch the forehead to the ground. After that, they rise and go around the Atharvaveda three times from left to right, reciting the mantra. These words or sounds are chanted countless times: "Rama, mara, rama, ra, mara, rama, rama, ra ...". Amazing cases of healing from various diseases are known in this way.

Like other magical systems, the Atharvaveda gives great attention plants with healing and supernatural properties, but which can manifest themselves only under certain conditions. Atharvan needs to know which plant matches each spell, but that's not enough. It is necessary to be able to conjure the spirit of the plant, perform the rite of ritual purification and pray. Exist special methods cures for coughs, paralysis, blindness and other ailments. However, diseases caused by demons must be fought with magic formulas set forth in the Atharvaveda.

If the cause of the disease is unknown, universal medicines should be resorted to. People who consider themselves healthy can use elixirs of life or spells that strengthen the immune system. The Atharvaveda says that any disease can be cured with spells. The treatment of physical diseases with the help of mental influence, which is only beginning to be practiced in Europe, is an essential part of the art of healing in the Atharvaveda. Also, in the recommendations of the book, you can read that a woman experiencing labor pains should be constantly in a joyful mood, which will cause “ soft delivery". People with tuberculosis should be looked after by relatives and friends and "please those who suffer with music, jokes and fragrances." In some diseases, alcoholic beverages are even recommended, usually prohibited. The essential factor in healing magic in the Atharva Veda is faith, shraddha. After all, even strictly observing the prescriptions of atharvana, the patient will not recover without deep faith.

Akasha or main force

In the ancient Indian magic of the Atharvaveda, along with turning to the gods, spirits and spells against demons, it is explained how to use some mysterious magical power. This power seems to stand aside from the gods and demons and obeys only the initiate, the atharvan magician. This is an unusual teaching about akasha - spirit-life, spirit-power - a concept that is difficult to explain. I only remember vis vitalis (“ life force”) of the medieval magicians of Europe. They came close to what the Hindus knew for many centuries before them.

In general, akasha is the power that all spirits possess and use. Moreover, it is the source of all power. According to the yogis, there is only one substance or force from which everything else comes. Laws of nature, such as gravity or life development human, animal or plant, are subject to others, higher rules. These laws are not separate, independent friend phenomena from each other. They are only various forms akash.

Atharvans put an equal sign between matter and energy and consider them simply different forms the akash, of which both are ultimately composed. By the way, physics confirms the transitions from matter to energy and vice versa. On one of the steps, akasha gives rise to animal life, on the other, it determines the movement of the planets. One form of akasha can be transformed into another. For example, in order to neutralize the force of gravity of the Earth, it is necessary to "charge" the selected object more than mild form akash. Let's say if you want to lift a load of ten tons into the air, you just need to change the type of akasha that this load consists of.

It is not surprising, therefore, that for many sages of India, and even for those Europeans who were diligent students Atharvanov, levitation - the ability to raise one's body above the ground and even move above it - is a familiar and accessible thing.

Unlike Western scientists, Atharvans believe that the universal primordial matter, or akasha, can be changed without mechanical methods but by the power of your own mind. Interestingly, modern esotericists consider akasha the fifth force - the element of information.

After the Rigveda, the second most important of the four sacred Vedas - in literary and cultural-historical terms - . As for its chronological relationship to the rest of the books, it is rather difficult to determine it. On the one hand, its finalization it probably received later than others and was relatively late included in the cycle of the Vedas, but, on the other hand, its content dates back to the most ancient era and in some places, it may reflect the ideas of times even more distant than those in which mythology and religion developed Rigveda . In its content, the Atharvaveda seems to be the most archaic of the Vedas.

The original title of this book, Atharvangirasa, is found in its very text; it means "Atharvans and Angirases". This is the name of two legendary priestly families, one of which was already mentioned above in the review of the content of the Rigveda, but here these words are used in a different meaning. Initially, apparently, they denoted a priest in general or a priest of a fire cult. Perhaps later both of these words - atharvan and angiras - began to designate magic spells and sorcery of the shamanic type, produced by these priests. At the same time, the following semantic difference was established between them: atharvan means mainly “sacred spells”, blessing spells, angiras - sorcery, witchcraft spells, curses, etc., that is, these are meanings corresponding to the European concepts of “white” and “black” magic. It can be assumed that the name Atharvaveda is an abbreviation for "Atharvangirasoveda", that is, "The Book of Atharvans and Angirases".

As noted, this book was not immediately ranked among the sacred Vedas. AT early texts it is not mentioned, but when it begins to be mentioned, it is not as Veda. Ancient and very long time Indian literature speaks of three Vedas; widely used definition trayi vidya (lit., "the threefold knowledge") or, for short, trayi - in meaning " Holy Bible". Tradition has long regarded the Atharva Veda as a work of a lower order, since it is devoted to such a dubious and dangerous object like sorcery. The Atharva Veda, by its content, is connected in many respects with medicine and astrology; meanwhile, in the ancient Indian books of laws - dharmashastras (see below about them) - doctors and astrologers were declared unclean, the use of the roots of medicinal plants was forbidden as witchcraft, and severe punishment was generally prescribed for witchcraft.

The most orthodox Brahminical schools never accepted the fourth Veda. However, already the "Laws of Manu" (around the 2nd century BC) called the Atharva Veda the weapon of a Brahman against enemies, in the "Mahabharata" it was recognized unconditionally canonical and subsequently even sometimes comes to the fore among other Vedas.

Unlike the other three Vedas, the Atharvaveda is almost unrelated in its content to the great sacrificial ritual of Brahminism, traditionally denoted by the term shrauta . It deals almost exclusively with domestic rituals, with which the spells that make it up are associated. And the Atharva Veda arose in an environment different from that in which the Rig Veda and the other two books of the sacred cycle were formed. Atharvaveda to the greatest extent reflected folk beliefs, folk worldview ancient era. It should also be noted that its content was most influenced by the beliefs and myths of the indigenous, pre-Aryan population of India. Atharvaveda is the most archaic in its content and most associated with folk life of the four Vedas and in this respect is of particular interest to us.

Revisions of two schools of the Atharva Veda are known. Usually the text of the monument is given in the edition Shaunaka , which was first published by R. Roth and W. D. Whitney in 1856. In 1964-1970. D. Bhattacharya published the text of the editorial pipepalada according to a manuscript found in Orissa on palm leaves. It differs significantly from Shaunak's edition and possibly reflects an earlier version.

The Atharva Veda is divided into 20 books (kanda), containing 730 "hymns" (sukta), which total about six thousand stanzas. About one sixth of the text of the monument is prose. Books from I to XIII are considered the most ancient and original, originally the Atharvaveda consisted only of them (some scholars distinguish, however, only books I-VII as the most ancient). The text of the rest of the books is largely borrowed from the Rigveda, in latest book(XX) - almost entirely. Books XIX - XX are the latest additions. However, it should be noted that in the later books there are texts no less ancient than in the first seven or thirteen.

The main content of the Atharvaveda, as its name, the interpretation of which was given above, is made up of incantations (although formally they are also called "hymns"). Magical formulas and incantations are found already in the Rigveda, but there they make up a very small part of the text. Meanwhile, it is in them that the circle of representation is reflected, which belongs to an extremely archaic stage historical development; .and indirect confirmation of this is the typological similarity with these spells, which is found in the folklore of various peoples, with remarkable coincidences in content and form of expression.

The most significant part of the spells of the Atharva Veda are spells directed against diseases, prayers for healing from diseases associated with the corresponding magical rites (these rites themselves are described in later literature). Usually these "healing" ( bhaishajyani ) spells are directed either directly against diseases, as such (diseases themselves are thought of as animated demonic creatures), or against demons of a special kind that send these diseases. Some spells are appeals to a healing plant that should serve to cure the disease (apparently, it is used here more as an amulet than as a medicine, magically), some - to the waters, which were attributed a special healing power, some - to fire ( known to be a particularly effective remedy against demons). Often this is an appeal to the god Agni or some other deities or beneficent mythical creatures.

A typical example of the spells of the Atharvaveda can be a conspiracy read when a bone is broken (IV. 12) with the simultaneous use of a healing root (magic):

You Rohani straightening, you straightening a broken bone! Fix it, Arundhati! What is damaged in you, what is broken, what is crushed in your body, the Founder, member with member, will safely make up for you again. May the core unite with the core and may member unite with member! What is lacking in your flesh and bone, let it grow again! Let the core be to the core, let the skin stick to the skin, let the blood rush to the bones, let the meat grow together with the meat! Bring hair to hair, bring skin to skin! Let the blood rush to your bones! What's broken there, fix it, oh root! Get up, go, hurry up! Like a chariot with a whole wheel, rim, hub. Stand up strong! If it breaks from falling into a pit, or if a stone is thrown at it, let Ribha be hammered together like parts of a chariot, member by member!

Another characteristic conspiracy is associated with the idea of illnesses, also reflected in the Rigveda, as the “arrows” of a formidable god. Rudra (see above):

The arrow that Rudra sent into you, into your body, into your heart, we pull out of you! Of a hundred veins piercing your body, from all of them we extract the poison (VI.90.1,2).

According to the commentary, during this conspiracy, an amulet spear is symbolically tied to the body of the patient.

Some of the spell-songs of the Atharva Veda are distinguished by great expressiveness, vivid imagery, and are peculiar lyric poems, for example, hymn 1.17, a conspiracy against bleeding, where the veins are called virgins in (Red dresses (the verse also seems to imply bandaging a wound. But most of these verses are rather monotonous, and their content is often deliberately vague and mysterious, which is typical for this kind At the same time, many poems of this collection are interesting in that they describe the symptoms of various diseases in some detail and accurately. In this respect, the Atharva Veda can be considered as the oldest monument of medical literature in India.

Of the diseases most often mentioned and described as the most common - fever. Takman is the name of this disease in the Atharvaveda (later it is no longer found in the literature, it is replaced by others), as well as the name of the demon that personifies it, the "king of diseases", as he is called. One of the most expressive in the Atharva Veda is the incantation against Takman (V.22):

May Agni drive Takman away from here, may Soma, the crushing stone, and the brilliant Varuna, and the altar, and the sacred grass on the altar, and brightly flaming logs drive him away! Let the evil forces perish! You, who make everyone yellow, burn them like fire, now, O Takman, lose your strength, now go away, perish, fail! His spotted, speckled, red dust-like Takman, drive him away, O almighty root, so that he perishes, fails! Find yourself a plump Shudryanka and shake her well!.. When you, now cold, now hot, accompanied by Cough, O Takman, shake the patient, your arrows are terrible, O Takman! Spare us! Do not get along with consumption, cough and writhing! Don't come back to us! I beg you, O Takman! With Cough, your brother, with your sister Consumption, with Scabies, your niece, go away, Takman, to a foreign people! Crush Takman, who returns on the third day, and that which is interrupted on the third day, and that which goes on unceasingly; To the Gandharas, Mujavats, Angas and Magadhas we give Takman as a servant, as a gift!

Appeals to the gods and to the healing root with a call to destroy the demon of disease are interspersed in this hymn-spell with pleas for mercy addressed to Takman himself. Propitiatory laudatory appeals to disease-causing forces are quite common in the Atharvaveda, along with appeals to beneficent gods or herbs. In another song, the caster honors Takman as a god in order to propitiate him: “Praise to Rudra, praise to Takman, praise to the formidable king Varuna! Praise to Heaven, praise to Earth, praise to healing herbs! To you, flaming, making everyone yellow, to you, red, brown, Takman coming from the forest, I give praise! (VI.20.2,3). The plot quoted above from the “arrows” of Rudra also consists in praise of this god himself and his disease arrow.

Another common disease mentioned in the Atharvaveda is consumption, called yakshma ; this word, however, is often used to refer to the disease in general (according to some researchers, tuberculosis itself means the word rajayakshma - « royal disease”), for example in spell IX.8.12: “From the womb, from the lungs, from the navel, from the heart, I extract the poison of all kinds of diseases (yakshma) by a spell.”

Common to many peoples is the idea found in the Atharva Veda, according to which a number of diseases are caused by worms ( creamy ). Many spells are directed against them. These worms are thought of as demonic beings of a special kind, of both sexes, different colors and appearances, with his king, etc. An example of such a spell is V.23:

Kill the worms in this boy, O Indra, lord of treasures! All evil forces are exterminated by my formidable spell... Two single-colored and two multi-colored, two black and two red, one brown, one with brown ears, Kite and Cuckoo - all killed. Worms with white shoulders, black with white hands and motley worms - we crushed them all ... The king of worms was killed, the ruler of worms was killed, the worm was killed; his mother was killed with him, his brother was killed, his sister was killed. His warriors are killed, his neighbors are killed, and all the smallest worms are killed! .. (2, 4, 5, 11, 12).

Numerous spells and curses traditionally referred to by the term abhicharikani , directed in the Atharva Veda against all kinds of demons and sorcerers; they belong to that kind of magic formulas which, as was said above, are denoted by the ancient name of angirasa. A number of spells are turned against Rakshasas and writing , varieties of demons, which were also mentioned above. The entire second half of the 16th book of the Atharvaveda is devoted to divination directed against the demon of a nightmare (“may he visit our enemies”), etc.

V.G. Erman AN OUTLINE OF THE HISTORY OF VEDIC LITERATURE

Atharva Veda often called the fourth Veda and is distinct from the other three Vedas. Although the classical Atharva Veda is concerned with the religious and socio-cultural aspects of society, it dwells in detail on a completely different level of knowledge. The hymns contained in the Atharva Veda are more varied in nature and character than those of the Rig Veda. They are also written over plain language than the hymns of the Rig Veda. Some scholars are of the view that the Atharvaveda is not part of the Vedas.

Atharva Veda associated with the area and the cult of the mystical side of science. It deals with the issues of death, spirits and afterlife. It is said that if pregnant women are present during the rituals of the Atharvaveda, the consequences can be so powerful that they can lead to miscarriage. An example of the strength of the Atharvaveda can be seen in the epic Mahabharata. When the Pandavas were exiled for thirteen years, after consulting the Atharvaveda, they shortened the time so that their exile was reduced to thirteen days.

History of the Atharva Veda

The name Atharva comes from the cult of people who worshiped fire. It literally means "fire people". AT ancient india the worship of fire was considered important in the society of professional priests. These fire worshipers were priests and sorcerers, they had an innate knowledge of the occult. They knew all the spells and magic formulas and applied their knowledge to the benefit of people.

The Atharva Veda mainly consists of charms and incantations that were common in society at that time. The Atharva Veda presents a portrait of Vedic society. One can find an independent and parallel flow of knowledge and thought in the Atharva Veda. It says that mantras are very powerful and should be recited with great care and only by special priests who have wide knowledges about Atharvaveda.

Atharvaveda contains knowledge about medicine. They consist of intensive research, the purpose of which is to find out the cause of the occurrence various diseases. The Atharva Veda is in fact one of the first texts to record the use of antibiotics. It also talks about various tactics that can be used in warfare. In it you can find an example of a military technique that uses arrows with a channel for poison. Other methods include the spread of small insects that cause disease, smoke screens, etc. AT to a large extent this Veda gained its recognition because of its references to military practices and methods.

The Atharvaveda is a collection of seven hundred and thirty-one hymns, which contain about six thousand verses. All these hymns are collected in twenty books. About one seventh of the Atharva Veda has its roots in the Rig Veda. Even the language and meter of the hymns of the Atharva Veda finds its resonance in the Riveda. Although there are some differences, the language is not as rigid as in the Rigveda, and the metric is not very tightly worked out as it is in the Rigveda.

Contextually, the Atharvaveda is shaped into more later times than the Rigveda. Geographical and cultural data, as it is easy to see, say that the Vedic Aryans, during the time of the Atharvaveda, came to the Ganges region and began to settle in the areas around the sacred river. It is also historically shown how the arias spread in the direction southeast region India. There is a special mention in the Atharva Veda of tigers from the Bengal region, they are mentioned as the most powerful and fearsome animals in existence. It is also said that the king must walk on the skin of a dead tiger, which symbolizes strength and power. There was no mention of tigers in the Rig Veda.

According to Atharva Veda , the Brahmins occupied the most high position in the caste hierarchy, it was proclaimed to such an extent that brahmins or priests were seen as gods on earth. A well-known part of the Atharva Veda, which has passed through the ages, contains songs and hymns of white magic. These lines were written by unknown authors ancient times. But it is quite possible that these collections of incantations and magical formulas were written and compiled by the Brahmin priests of that time. Sometimes this can be clarified by comparisons and epithets. For example, in the Atharvaveda there is a conspiracy against field pests, in which it is noted that insects must leave the corn without touching it, as a Brahmin touched it as sacrificial food. Most of Atharvaveda is devoted to the description of the satisfaction of the interests of the brahmins, their rewards and food.
