: cars in the Moscow region, from summer residents and suburban residents to truckers and foreigners.
Usually the route Moscow - Minsk - Brest is passed by several cars like this: Moscow - Kubinka - Mozhaisk - Vyazma - Smolensk - a locale in the Minsk region - Baranovichi - Ivatsevichi - Brest. Of course, you can immediately get into the Minsk car near Mozhaisk, and drive from Vyazma to Brest without transfers. The following description lists more precise options for your maneuvers.
License plates common on M1 (in addition to Moscow and Moscow region)
Average Estimated Hitchhiking Time from Moscow
- to Brest 16 (± 2) hours,
- to Baranovichi 12 (± 1) hours for singles, 13.5 hours for twos,
- to Minsk 10 (± 1.5) hours for a single, 11 (± 0.5) hours for a couple,
- to Orsha 7.5 (± 1) hours for a single, 8.5 (± 2.5) hours for a couple.
Departures from cities
Positions
The distance on the territory of Russia is indicated in the same way as on kilometer posts - from the center of Moscow.
Russia, Moscow region
Not the most convenient place to start: a bump stop and frequent traffic jams to the Odintsovo fork - due to a strong flow, shopping centers and a relatively narrow highway. If you are here at low machine time, stand at the beginning or end of one of the petals; if there is a lot of transport, move forward to the distance indicator. And leave for 5 km with any Odintsovo driver.
- 20 km - M1/A100 ("turn to Odintsovo", "Odintsovo Fork", "Arch", "Old Smolensk Road")
We start at the end of the interchange - behind or before the confluence with the road from Odintsovo, depending on the current reconstruction of the route. You will be offered to go to Lesnoy Gorodok, Zhavoronki, Golitsino, Kubinka and Tuchkovo. Do not agree: everywhere there is a high-speed four-lane with chippers, pits and in some places "crosses". Wait for the car no closer than the turn to Ruza.
- M1/A108 , pov. Ruza
Convenient wide shoulder behind the traffic light. From the A108, many drivers leave showing the "left turn" - with them you will drive 3 km to the checkpoint in Dorohovo, where the flow to Vereya will not interfere with you and cars from the north will appear Kaluga region.
- DPS Dorohovo
- 96 km - "Mozhaisk plane"
There are several turns to Mozhaisk; this is the first one, the most convenient one. In front of the fork there is a monument aircraft, it is impossible not to notice it. Traffic lights, wide shoulder, excellent visibility.
If the weather and mood allow, I recommend waiting for the car to Vyazma. Suggestions to go to Artyomki, Uvarovka and Gagarin are best ignored. In Artyomki, a high-speed driver, at the Gagarinsky post there is a specific wide section-bend, where the hitchhiker is not particularly noticeable and the driver is uncomfortable to change lanes - and then acceleration.
A couple of exceptions, if you are tired of standing by the plane - pov. Uvarovka/Ivakino and DPS Drovnino. Read below.
- 131 km - turn. Uvarovka/Ivakino
There are two Uvarov crossroads; you need the first one (NOT Semyonovskoe, but Ivakino). Pass behind the stop on the hill - you can be seen remarkably, the roadside is present, and you are waiting for the same car to Vyazma (or Drovnino).
- DPS Drovnino
Russia, Smolensk region
- 230 km - Vyazma ("Andreykovo", "at the former post", "main entrance")
There are several turns into the city; you need the last one. Make sure your driver swerves right there, otherwise you will be voting on high speeds in the pits.
On the opposite side, right at the fork, there is an inconspicuous wooden cafe - there is almost always a delicious and cheap orange compote on sale :)
The peculiarity of the position is the most convenient 200-meter pocket behind the booth of the former post, headed by the sign "no stopping". Pay no attention to it - both seals and hitchhikers always vote there. Periodically present traffic police patrol is indifferent to this.
Here there is already a local stream in the Smolensk region. I usually wait for a car to Smolensk, because positions in Istomino, Safonovo and Yartsevo are high-speed and inconspicuous. But there are two reserve positions if you want to change the car earlier.
- 256 km - turn. Yakushkino
Reserve position. Comfortable but fast bend in the woods. Move behind the fork, to the narrowing. You will be perfectly visible.
- 328 km - turn. Kapyrevshchina("Entrance to Yartsevo", "Yakovlevo", "Yakovlevsky post")
Reserve position. stand in front of former building post, even before the fork. There is an acceptable shoulder and normal visibility; further - worse.
- Smolensk bypass
And then the Smolensk bypass begins - one of the problems of passing the M1. Each turn has its own characteristics. What to do with them - decide for yourself, to your taste. Half of them are "spare", inconvenient.
- 372 km - M1/ A141 , pov. Bryansk
- 381 km - turn. Smolensk / Semirechye ("new interchange"," first entry ")
- 384 km - turn. Smolensk / Stabna("Pechersk Post", "Smolensk Post", "Old Entrance", "Main Entrance")
- 385/386 km - distance indicator (to Yurtsevo and Minsk) before Diwasami
- 396 km - Olsha, М1/ R133 (turn to Velizh, Nevel, Velikiye Luki)
- 415 km - M1/A120 ("Vitebsk turn", "Arkhipovka")
The end of the Smolensk bypass. If your car went to Vitebsk, go 1 km up the hill and stand on its top, before entering the village. Tveritino. You are clearly visible, there is a roadside and acceptable speeds. If your car goes in a straight line, but is delayed at the border, get off here and wait for the checkpoint deep into Belarus. Preferably a passenger car, with numbers of Russia, Belarus or Kazakhstan - when crossing the border, this can play a role in time.
Also keep in mind that many cars heading to central and western regions Belarus, bypass the M1 through Vitebsk and Lepel, avoiding toll sections. Arm yourself with a map - perhaps you will get to Minsk faster with your Lepel-Begoml driver.
At night, there is no lighting either in Arkhipovka or in Tveritino.
Belarus, Vitebsk region
A feature of the kilometer posts of the M1 highway: on Russian territory distance from/to Moscow is shown; in Belarusian - from / to Brest. Further, the mileage of the positions is indicated in the same strange way.
Since October 2014, Minsk time has been synchronized with Moscow, so we do not translate the clock now!
- state border
- 454 km - Russian customs
- 455 km - weight control point
- 457 km - insurance kiosks and branch of Belarusbank. All of them will serve you as currency exchange points.
Have documents for verification at the ready - after the start of military events in Ukraine, checks of drivers and passengers (for the presence of Ukrainian citizenship) have become more frequent here. But they may not check.
It is not recommended to go out here to vote because of the usual confusion in such places: transport workers, border guards, parked cars, filthy roadsides, insurance kiosks ... If you suddenly ended up here at night for some reason, keep in mind that good lighting goes just from 454 457 km, and further, incl. at the Belarusian customs, there is no light anymore.
- 589 km - Buda, М1/R22 , pov. Dubrovno
In the direction of Minsk - not a position, but in the store to the left of the fork there is a branch of Belarusbank with a currency exchange office and a grocery store. A rarity on this track.
Bank opening hours: Tue-Sat 10:00 - 17:30 (1st Wednesday of the month from 12:00), lunch 12:40 - 13:00, break 12:30 - 12:40 and 15:15 - 15: thirty. Shop opening hours: from 9 am to 10 pm daily.
- 570 km - M1/M8 , "Orsha crossroads"
Orsha crossroad
Branching of streams: cars leave for Mogilev, appear from Vitebsk. Lighting. To the right is the roadside restaurant "Vstrecha" - a canteen-Soviet type, open around the clock, prices comparable to Moscow eateries. Inside there is a terminal for paying for a Belarusian phone (a rarity for Belarus).
In the parking lot behind the restaurant (immediately, not at the gas station) in an inconspicuous trailer with the inscription "Parking" you can exchange money. Unlike the previous options, here the course differs from the bank one by 10-20 thousand, not in your favor.
The position when voting for Minsk is an uncomfortable place on the slope, behind a bus stop, with bumpers and a curb. The turn or stop is sometimes occupied by traffic cops or prostitutes. Your task is to get out of here at least 16 km ahead, to the Lepel crossroads.
- small digression about Orsha
- 557 km - M1/R15 , "Lepel crossroads"
A high-speed train with a flyover, in a field, without lanterns. Here the stream Orsha - Minsk appears; we vote on the triangle in front of the bridge, in two hands - or along the Orsha stream immediately after the confluence.
It is better not to go to Tolochin and Krupki: high speeds, poor visibility.
Belarus, Minsk region
- 469 km - M1/R19 , pov. Krupki/Nacha
End of the Krupskaya bypass. A more or less acceptable place in terms of speed, a convenient stream comes out from the P19. This position makes sense if you are going to Minsk, and you need to hook on all Minsk flows so as not to cut off cars going through Borisov. Not illuminated at night.
- 449 km - M1/R53 , pov. Borisov("Start old road to Minsk ")
Some of the cars go to Minsk along the P53, through Borisov and Zhodino.
The position towards Brest, on the triangle - is noticeable, with a convenient roadside, but high-speed and not illuminated.
- 386/387 km - M1/M2 ("Turn to the airport", "turn to the Mound of Glory")
A large flow of Minsk cars goes to M2. The position towards Brest, behind the fork, is acceptable, if you do not go far for acceleration. There is lighting.
- 366 km - M1/M4 ("Mogilev fork", "check-in through Shabany")
The last third of the Minsk stream goes here. Large clover interchange, not illuminated. There are several positions, as usual on clovers - choose at your discretion. From M4 to M1 there is often a locale; do not go closer than the road to Slutsk.
- 346 km - M1/R23 ("road to Slutsk")
Large clover junction. To Dzerzhinsk - a bunch of small, relatively high-speed turns with good visibility, eating up and generating the near-Minsk locale.
On M1/ P1 (where the main stream Minsk - Brest appears) you should not go out: there is a difference of a kilometer, the position is similar, and many turn to Dzerzhinsk.
- pov. Dzerzhinsk
Y-shaped fork. An acceptable position, cutting off a strong Dzerzhinsky stream. Good visibility; at night you can walk 1 km forward to the lanterns of the Vesta motel. The nearest relatively convenient position is the turn to Mir.
- 272 km - M1/R64 , pov. World
Speedster with a wide shoulder and good visibility in the field. A significant part of the flow Minsk - Novogrudok leaves.
Р5 (Baranovichi/Novogrudok). There is a wide shoulder behind the interchange, you can be seen in advance on the descent from the hill. Many people visit the city there. The best position is on the southern exit from the city, locally known as "Steam Train", "Cafe at the Locomotive". The monument-locomotive and cafe will be on the opposite side of the highway, and on your Brest path - a complete set: a wide roadside at the pocket with a parking lot, a pedestrian crossing with speed limiters and bright lights. AT dark time day, the place is ideal for waiting for the car until the next lights - in Ivatsevichi.
If your car does not reach the locomotive, and it is already dark outside, get out in front of the city, at the turn to Lyakhovichi (M1 / P4) and vote at the illuminated gas station.
- 203 km - M1/R99 , pov. Slonim
High speed driver with good visibility, in the forest. It is better not to be here in the dark - forest and forest. A strong stream leaves Baranovichi and Minsk for Poland and western cities Belarus.
- 151 km - M1/R6 , Ivatsevichi
key position. At night, vote at the pedestrian crossing, just behind the branch to the city; in the afternoon - either in the same place, or go to the end of the interchange to catch the Ivatsevichi - Brest stream. If dusk is approaching, get out and wait for a direct car to Brest right here - there will be no more such low-speed places with lighting here (the exception is Fedkovichi, see below). Do not go to Beloozersk (speed bike in a hole in the forest); to Bereza (M1 / P84) - only during the day and at will.
M12 , Kobrin("Turn to Malorita", "Compressor")
High speed multiband. Part of the flow Kobrin - Brest is coming out, focus on it.
- 36 km - M1/R7 , Fedkovichi("turn to Zhabinka")
Vote at the confluence with P7 (on the triangle before or immediately after) - the flow from Zhabinka will increase. If you need to go to Brest itself, and your car goes to the bypass ("to Kozlovichi"), get off here and wait for the car deep into the city in a straight line. There are many of them.
Regional hospital - Vychulki - Moskovsky pr-t - Brest Fortress- Warsaw Bridge. game over :)
On Wednesday Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. the site reminds you what toll roads are in the Moscow region, how the fare is paid and what are the differences in payment on different routes.
There are three toll highways in the Moscow region:
- M11 "Moscow - St. Petersburg"
1 is located in the Moscow region paid section M11 (15–58 km of the route).
The fare on the site ranges from 40 to 600 rubles, depending on the number of toll booths passing by, the time of day, the size of the car, the presence of a transponder and other factors. The fare scale and fare calculator are published on the website of the operator company that collects the fare.
In total, there are currently two toll sections on the M11 highway. The second is located in the Tver region, which allows you to go around the city Vyshny Volochek(258–334 km of the route). The cost of the detour will be from 150 to 920 rubles(for cars - 150-240 rubles).
- M1 "Belarus"
In the Moscow region, there is the only paid section of the route, which allows you to bypass Odintsovo.
The fare ranges from 30 to 800 rubles, depending on the number of toll plazas passing by, the time of day, the size of the car, the presence of a transponder and other factors ( cars- from 30 to 250 rubles).
Photo: website of the road operator
- M4 "Don"
In the Moscow region, there is 1 of 7 toll sections of the M4 highway (48-71 km).
The fare on the site is from 15 to 140 rubles (cars - from 15 to 35 rubles). The fare scale has been published on the website of the operator company that collects the fare.
Other paid sections of the M4 highway and the cost of their travel by car:
- detour of Bogoroditsk (225–260 kilometers) – 35–60 rubles;
- bypass of Efremov (287–321 kilometers) - 35–60 rubles;
- bypassing the city of Yelets and the village of Yarkina (330-414 kilometers) - 100-120 rubles;
- bypassing Zadonsk and the village of Khlevnoy (414–464 kilometers) – 60–80 rubles;
- detour of Voronezh (492–517 kilometers) – 35–20 rubles;
- in Voronezh region(544-633 kilometers) - 50-70 rubles.
Payment Methods:
- in cash at the toll collection points at the entrance or exit from the sites;
- bank cards from the operator at the box office. The M4 also accepts smart T-cards;
- you can pay the fare with a transponder. While each highway registers its own separate device. But from the spring of 2016, it will be possible to pay for travel on all toll roads in Russia with one transponder. All operators will work according to combined technical protocols.
A transponder is an electronic device that makes it possible to pay for travel on toll roads remotely. Many owners of toll roads establish a system of discounts for their owners.
Near each highway are installed road signs, indicating the methods of payment for travel. This is necessary in case the payment is not made by any of the methods. For example, on section 416 (Zadonsk) - 460 (Khlevnoye) of the M4 highway, payment by card is not yet provided.
Transponder fare
On the M1 "Belarus" highway, a 5 percent discount is provided when driving through a transponder, and a promotion and a 37 percent discount are valid until the end of the year. For vehicles with electronic device Separate traffic lanes are provided, along which you can drive without stopping at checkpoints.
The operators of the M11 motorway are giving drivers the opportunity to save 20 percent of the cost of the trip when using a transponder. There is also a dedicated lane for customers.
There is also a loyalty program on the M4 Don highway. For paid kilometers with the help of a transponder, the driver receives points, according to which he is credited with a discount of up to 10 percent.
I have already traveled to Belarus by car about twenty times. These trips took place over the course of a year. in different weather and different time day.
Therefore, I decided to write instructions for using the M1 Moscow-Minsk highway.
I must say right away that the M1 highway is one of the best in Russia, if not the best.
On it you can safely go to Belarus and not be afraid of anything.
From Moscow to Minsk 700 km. On the highway this way takes me about 7 hours. With all stops.
All the way, with the exception of the departure from Moscow, a very measured and calculated route.
There are two ways to leave Moscow.
Right on Kutuzovsky prospect, which goes to Minka, it is also the M1 highway or along the bypass, around Odintsovo.
The paid route costs 150 R. The amount is divided into two stages. 100 R. and 50 R. at two checkpoints.
After leaving Moscow, you will see best road Russia. Route M1.
04. The road surface is very good!
But beware of the cameras. In Russia, signs with cameras in front are not installed everywhere.
I also recommend slowing down in urban areas. The traffic police on this route does not sleep.
The cameras themselves hang mainly on bridges. And they look like ordinary cameras all over the country. Small, not noticeable.
When I travel to Belarus, I have two or three stops during the journey.
I always leave with full tank fuel. The car needs to be refueled in the evening. Otherwise, it will be difficult and you can lose a lot of time while looking for a gas station while you stop by.
I buy water and snacks for the road so as not to stop.
The first stop on the way, after 400 km immediately after Smolensk.
You pass the traffic police post (the blue building immediately after the bridge) and there will be a Rosneft gas station on the right. On it you can refuel, buy something, go to the toilet and buy a Green Card there.
Green map needed to enter the territory of Belarus and Europe. This is normal insurance.
Two weeks on the territory of Belarus and Ukraine ( minimum term) it costs 550 R.
They are sold everywhere along the highway. But I found the most convenient way. And refuel and arrange.
Rest for one.
09. Green card looks like this
We have no border with Belarus. There is customs control for trucks. And cars go by without stopping.
Only a modest sign "Republic of Belarus" will tell you about crossing the border.
From the border you will find it just over 200 km to Minsk. With a stunning road and views of the plowed fields.
Roads in Belarus are close to ideal.
Once I went to Belarus right after Germany. So the roads are very close in quality.
Moreover, I traveled almost all over the country. Quality roads almost everywhere! So you can safely drive here in cars with large disks.
There are traffic cameras along the highway. You can't be afraid of them.
And there are cameras that issue fines. But they always come with warnings in advance.
During my travels, I was photographed a couple of times. But the fines never came.
Be careful at the first settlement, which is called Buda. There is a 60 km/h limit.
Almost all cameras, with the exception of one or two, photograph the car from behind.
15. Cameras look like this
Along the highway there are entrances to paid sections. But this is also only for trucks. In passenger cars, you drive at a slower speed.
16.
My travel time.
Federal highway M1 "Belarus" (Minsk highway) - highway federal significance.
The route passes through the territory of the Moscow and Smolensk regions to state border with the Republic of Belarus.
The M1 road starts at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road and Mozhaisk Highway.

By territory Smolensk region- south of the city of Gagarin (172 km), north of the cities of Vyazma (227 km) and Safonovo (297 km), Yartsevo (334 km), north of the city of Smolensk along bypass road(334 km) and reaches the state border with Belarus (449 km).
The route is part of the European route E30 and goes in the direction of the cities of Minsk, Brest, Warsaw. M1 is also part of the Asian route AH6.
Length highway- 449 km.

Gas station on the M1 highway on the map
Paid section of the M1 highway
The paid understudy of the M1 highway starts in the area of Molodogvardeiskaya road junction MKAD and ends at the 33rd km of the Minsk highway. The road goes around the city of Odintsovo.
Length toll road is 18.535 km
Number of lanes
8 for the first 5 km
6 for the next 9 km
4 in the last 4 km
Estimated speed 120 km/h
Permitted speed 90 km/h
Number of toll collection points 3 pcs.
Toll Collection Points (TOCs) are located at the entrances and exits of the road 6.9 km in the direction to the region, 13.4 km at the exits to Mozhayskoye Highway and 17.7 km of the toll road in the direction to Moscow.
Because in recent times Since I often have to travel by car to Europe, and the way there lies through the M1 highway, on which there are a lot of cameras, I decided to record the mileage of the cameras, and along the way, other sights that I meet on the way.
I have traveled on this list three times already, and I will say that it has become much more convenient.
Update Sep 2014: In addition to the list, I also use the MAPCAM INFO service, where there is an application for both i-devices and Android. The program is quite simple, works in the background and does not interfere with navigation. A subscription to camera location updates costs 40 rubles per month (there is also an annual subscription for 360 rubles). I buy a subscription once a year, for 40 rubles, just to update the list of cameras. It works really clearly and the approach of the cameras informs regularly. Based on the "people's map", like maps.me, that is, updates appear almost on the day the cameras are installed. It works like all over the world, you just need to download a file with cameras for each country you pass.
Update May 2015: As for the navigation program, to my extreme disappointment, the iGo program for iOS has completely lost ground. The main reason for the frustration was the fact of rare map updates. So in Warsaw in 2012, many new highways and interchanges were built, and on this moment they are still not in iGo. In search of the "best" navigation, I tried several different packages, and Cigyc, and TomTom, and Waze ... Offline navigation always has a problem with the relevance of maps. Online navigation has an obvious problem that there is no Internet on the road ...
The maps.me program was the solution. The most excellent up-to-date offline maps with a lot of details, up to the marked monuments and firing points (bunkers) in the fields ... Recently, the function of building routes within the country has appeared, and more recently, the function of building routes through different countries. Now there are some flaws, occasionally crashes, sometimes forgets where we are going, but at the moment, I think this is the best program for traveling.
I equipped the CB car with a walkie-talkie a long time ago to be able to communicate with truckers, so there are settlements to know how many kilometers to them and how long they are. Often, information is transmitted via a walkie-talkie like: "Accident on Rodnichka ..." which in the case of an inexperienced driver does not make any sense. With a list now has. I hope this list will help someone not to run into a fine, calculate a place for refueling or plan a vacation spot.
This list in no way claims to be a complete coverage of attractions, everyone will find their own points that are not on my list. So edit, supplement, well, share 🙂
Well, fellow drivers, behave wisely! Life is one and the road is long.
(The list has not been updated since January 14. Cameras have increased a lot since then ... Use mapcam.info.)
