Where is Karabikha located? State Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve N

State Literary memorial museum N. A. Nekrasov’s “Karabikha” reserve is located in the village of Karabikha, Yaroslavl district, Yaroslavl region, 15 km south of Yaroslavl, near the urban-type settlement of Krasnye Tkachi. On its territory there is an old manor, a number of outbuildings and two parks.

The Nekrasov estate is often called "the only estate complex in the Yaroslavl region of the second half of XVIII- the beginning of the 20th century, retaining its original architectural appearance.

Initially, the village of Bogorodskoe, which belonged to famous family Princes Golitsyn. By order of the owners in the 40s of the XVIII century. the construction of the manor begins. Time passes, generations change, as a result, the Golitsyn family estate remains practically without owners, slowly decaying. This is what Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov buys. All household concerns about the estate were taken over by the brother of the classic - Fyodor, who settled in big house. Nekrasov himself modestly occupied the East Wing, using it as a summer dacha.

In 1861-1875 the poet spent several summer seasons, writes his famous poems “Russian Women”, “Frost, Red Nose”, the poem “Orina, the Soldier's Mother” and a number of others, begins work on the work “Who Lives Well in Russia”. In my last visit Karabikha Nekrasov visited all the memorable and dear places to him: in Yaroslavl, in the school he created and at the grave of his mother in Abakumtsevo, on the ashes of the old parental home in Greshnev.

After the revolution, the fate of the former manor was not much different from similar "noble nests". It was nationalized, later the Burlaki state farm, a sanatorium, Orphanage. Fortunately, almost immediately after the war, the estate was still recognized as a monument of history and culture, and a memorial museum was opened in memory of the poet - the “voice of the peasants”. The Nekrasov estate is being restored, the territories and buildings are being returned exactly to the form that was during the life of Nikolai Alekseevich. Every year, since 1968, on the first Saturday of July, the famous Nekrasov poetry festivals are held in Karabikha. On January 1, 1988, the Nekrasov Museum-Estate was transformed into the State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve of N.A. Nekrasov "Karabikha" with branches in Abakumtsevo and Greshnev.

ESTATE ARCHITECTURE

The center of the estate is a two-story Big House, standing on a high hill above the Kotorosl River, which originates in these places. The house has two facades, one of which, the front, welcomes the guests of the estate, and the other, the park, overlooks the shady alleys. Previously, the mansion was connected by a covered two-tier gallery with two stone outbuildings located on the sides, which has not been preserved. The big house is amazingly beautiful and graceful, it really looks like a miniature palace. The white, laconic, main entrance and the spacious balcony on the second floor are framed by columns, a round belvedere with a thin spire rises above the green roof, from this light turret the inhabitants and guests of the estate must have loved to survey the surroundings. In the Big House you can see the layout and interior elements of the late 18th - early 19th centuries.

The architecture of the outbuildings is consistent with central house style. They are two-story, compact, white, with miniature porches. The eastern wing, which Nekrasov occupied during the summer months, is decorated with a balcony with columns. In the outbuildings, elements of more than early period: fragments of baroque architraves and window openings with a semicircular ending in the East Wing.

Numerous outbuildings have been preserved on the estate: a carriage house, a smithy, a servants' quarters, red sheds, a greenhouse, a gardener's house, a wine warehouse, a glacier and others.

Another interesting building is the so-called Green House. Nekrasov built it for his brother Konstantin Alekseevich, who was denied an inheritance by his father because of his marriage to a simple bourgeois woman. The poet supported his distressed relative in every possible way.

The estate ensemble is organically complemented by parks.

The upper park of the French type is laid out in front of the house, its regular layout is clear and concise. The wonderful Orchard adjoins the Upper Park.

The lower (landscape) park, descending the hillside, is arranged according to English type, at first glance, one may get the impression of some kind of chaos, however, here, too, there is a clear adherence to the canons landscape design. You can get to the Lower Park immediately by going around the back of the Big House. It is noteworthy that N.A. Nekrasov arranged readings in a large clearing of this park. The Upper and Lower Big Ponds are original.

EXPOSITION OF THE MUSEUM-RESERVE "KARABIKHA"

The exposition itself starts from the second floor. The rooms of the Big House, as well as the East Wing, are adjacent.

Beautiful interiors, especially for antique lovers. Of course, little has survived from the former situation. The museum employees painstakingly collected furniture and other things from the former ruined estates. And even though most of these items were not owned by the Nekrasovs themselves, they still have the spirit of the times. Even the wallpaper was made by special order according to the samples of the century before last. Some of the items were donated by the poet's family.

In the first room we see a bust of the poet by M.F. Chizhov. The second hall initially served N.A. Nekrasov as an office. Here are interesting photographs illustrating the childhood and youth of the poet, documents of that era. The collection of the following rooms is varied and designed in the spirit of noble estates: elegant sets, numerous rare books and magazines in heavy cabinets, a large collection of photographs and portraits, paintings and engravings, documents, furnishings and cute trinkets, a lot of mirrors in carved frames, an indispensable piano and card table, a fireplace and a striking clock.

Hunting themes are everywhere: weapons, stuffed birds. A pretty pencil case, pasted over with striped malachite wallpaper, which belonged to the poet's nephew Konstantin Fedorovich Nekrasov, here you should pay attention to a large secretary with writing instruments and an interesting bookcase, you can see black and white photographs and look out the window at the park spread out in front of the house.

K.F. Nekrasov's room

The exposition in the East wing is interesting, the Nekrasov spirit is especially felt here. The poet's oblong small study, personal items, massive wardrobes. There are manuscripts and documents on the glassed-in desk, old photographs of Nekrasov, his relatives and friends on the walls. However, Nekrasov preferred to work in a large hall with a marble fireplace. There is still a Turkish striped sofa, one of the few things that really belonged to the poet.

Museum-Reserve N.A. Nekrasov farmstead "Karabikha" is located 15 kilometers south of Yaroslavl, along the old Moscow highway near the urban-type settlement of Krasnye Tkachi.
Before early XVIII century, the village of Bogorodskoye was located in the vicinity of the estate. At the beginning of the 18th century, the princely family of Golitsyns. In the forties XVIII century, by order of Prince Nikolai Sergeevich Golitsyn, construction begins estates on Karabitova Gora. The estate was designed and built as one of the largest in the Yaroslavl province. Unfortunately, the name of the architect, the author of the estate project, has not been preserved. The estate gets its name from the name of the mountain - Karabikha. Over time the title Karabikha also passes to the village in which it is located manor.

Manor complex "Karabikha"

Manor complex " Karabikha"is the only manor complex in the Yaroslavl region of the second half of the 18th century, in which original architecture. Manor Karabikha belongs to the estates palace type which is characteristic of the era of classicism. The estate ensemble includes a residential building, outbuildings, two parks (landscape and regular) and a system of ponds.

The basis of the architectural ensemble is main house and two outbuildings. Once between the house and the outbuildings there were covered two-story galleries that united the buildings into single structure. Main manor house It is a two-story stone building with pediments on columns, a gazebo and verandas.

Immediately behind the house is a gentle descent to the Kotorosl River. Interior big house retained design elements related to to late XVIII - early XIX century. The outbuildings, in turn, retained elements characteristic of an earlier architectural period - fragments of baroque architraves, a semicircular completion of a window opening in the East outbuilding. All this is characteristic of an earlier period ( XVII - early XVIII century). The horse yard, located on the estate, was built at the beginning of the 19th century, initially it was a symmetrical composition, consisting of three parts - the central building and two outbuildings - carriage houses. At the beginning of the 20th century, a two-story residential building was built on the site of the northern carriage house.

Two parks, which are part of the estate complex, are conditionally named Upper and Lower. Upper the park located in front of the house is a park French type- neat, well-groomed, shrubs and trees trimmed, each object has a clear location. Lower the park is located behind the house and has features characteristic of English park- on the one hand, it gives the impression of being neglected, however, each tree grows in its original place. It is in this park, on a large clearing, ON THE. Nekrasov spent reading

Along the edge of the Lower Park passes water cascade Gremikha - a stream flowing through the Upper and Lower Ponds and forming small ponds and waterfalls

Nekrasov and the estate of Karabikha

As already mentioned, the founders and first owners of the Karabikha estate were princes Golitsyn. At the beginning of the 19th century, Mikhail Nikolaevich Golitsyn began reconstruction estate, as a result of which the manor ensemble takes on the appearance of a front residence, corresponding to the status of the owner. Almost in this form, the estate complex has been preserved to the present day.

Karabikha - recent history

After the revolution, in 1918 year the estate was nationalized and classified as a historical monument. However, as often happened then, historical monument served new government quite pragmatically - after civil war was located here state farm "Burlaki".

A bit of history

Karabikha is an ancient estate of the princes Golitsyns, leading its history from the 40s. 18th century. Her modern look almost completely formed at the beginning of the 19th century: a large-scale reconstruction is taking place here, and the estate takes the form of a grand family estate. As a result of connection with the Decembrist movement, the owners are exiled to Siberia, and the estate falls into disrepair. In the early 1860s the house is acquired by N. A. Nekrasov. The summer trip of 2017 covered several regions of Russia. When planning walks around the cities and trips by car around the regions, I chose those places that, firstly, fit into our road map, and, secondly, they were in the circle of my “interests”. If we talk about the whole trip, priority was given to visiting Russian estates. We visited four estates, the unequivocal favorite, for me personally, was the estate of the Nekrasov family in the village of Karabikha.

A small historical preface. Until the beginning of the 18th century, the village of Bogorodskoye was located in the vicinity of the modern village of Karabikha. In 1711, the owner of the village of Bogorodskoye and adjacent lands became princely family Golitsyn. In the 40s years XVIII century, by order of the Golitsyns, an unknown architect erected a manor on Karabitova Gora, the estate itself received the name - Karabikha, soon, and the village acquired the same name. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Golitsyn family carried out the reconstruction of the estate, the estate ensemble acquired a more formal look. Almost in this form, the estate complex has survived to this day.

N.A. Nekrasov buys the estate in 1861 for a summer holiday. All household chores for the management of the estate fall on the shoulders of the poet's brother, Fyodor. Karabikha becomes a permanent place of residence for the family of Fyodor Nekrasov, and the poet comes only to summer time to rest.

Museum-reserve "Karabikha" is located at a distance of 15 km from Yaroslavl. "Birds" we are early, so at half past eight in the morning we were already in place. Museum expositions open at 10.00, the park area from May to October is open from 7.00 in the morning. Therefore, we first went to explore the estate territory. I invite you to orient yourself on the ground and take a walk along the park alleys.

We got to the estate from the side of the Upper Park (the entrance to the territory is paid - 50 rubles per adult). We move to the main manor house - along right hand the building of the People is located, on the left - the Upper Park.

After walking a few meters along the path, we get to " main square estates." Before us is a flower parterre, in the background is a glacier, the Eastern Wing, where N. Nekrasov lived during his summer visits, and the Big Manor House.

Opposite the Big House is the Upper Park, which belongs to the type of regular parks. The perspective of the central alley leading from the porch of the Big House continues with the central alley of the park and ends with the greenhouse building. AT old times the building of the greenhouse ended with a belvedere with a spire, similar to the belvedere of the Big House. Now the greenhouse has been preserved in ruins.

One of the facades of the Green House faces the park. it wooden house was built in the 1870s to house the youngest of the Nekrasov brothers, Konstantin.

The upper park is small in area, square in shape, with eight-legged park alleys emanating from a single center. In the shade of trees (and several 200-year-old lindens have been preserved), it is pleasant to sit on a secluded bench.

An orchard and a wine warehouse adjoin the Upper Park. The warehouse building was built at the beginning of the 20th century in the “red-brick” style characteristic of that time. In the future, it is planned to reconstruct the object and adapt it to a museum visitor center.

On the slope behind the Big Manor House there is the Lower Landscape Park. The attractions of the park include bridges, a cascade of ponds and winding paths that wrap around the park area like a web. The pattern of the park's web is intricate, and in some places the paths seem to disappear and are barely readable among the tall grass. Throughout the walk through the Lower Park, I had the feeling that I was walking through the forest. Park alleys and paths are only slightly decorated, and even then not everywhere, but only on the descents and ascents.

And the Lower Park begins from the Bolshaya Polyana in front of the manor house.

The alternation of open and closed space are the main features of the Lower Park. Feel the unity with nature, enjoy the birds singing, just sit in silence and admire surrounding nature it is possible on the benches scattered around the park area.

And our path lies to the Upper Pond.

There are two ponds on the territory of the Lower Park artificial origin- Upper and Lower, Gremikha stream connects them. There is an island in the middle of the Upper Pond. The shores were planted with trees, over time, growing, the trees shaded the water surface, and the crowns created a natural roof. It turned out a picturesque gazebo in the middle body of water, which gave additional features for relax.

The water in the Upper Pond comes from numerous springs, the excess water over the stones descends to the bottom of the ravine in a small waterfall, and runs in a small stream to the Lower Pond. We found the upper pond by the sound of the water. The waterfall is small, but in the forest morning silence, when there are no visitors yet, the sound of the supply water is heard well.

Time in the park flies by unnoticed, the hands of the clock are approaching 10 o'clock, the manor house is waiting for us. We return to the front yard of the estate.

Before going to the museum exhibition, let's go to the bust of N.A. Nekrasov. bronze bust the work of the Leningrad sculptor L.Yu. Eidlin appeared in 1960 on the eve of the 140th anniversary of the birth of N.A. Nekrasov. In 2011, the monument was renovated and installed on the site near the East Wing, where Nekrasov lived during his stay in Karabikha.

The museum ticket office offers a choice of visiting several expositions, you can see it on your own, you can pay for the excursion service (all the details are on the museum website www.karabiha-museum.ru). We stopped to inspect the Big House with a rise to the Belvedere and the East Wing.

The large manor house (the museum employees call it the Big House for short) was built on turn of XVIII-XIX centuries. In the first quarter XIX century finally formed architectural ensemble A large house and two outbuildings connected by galleries to the main house. The large house is two-story, with 4-column porticos from the southern and northern facades, with an observation tower-belvedere on the roof. In the second half of the 19th century, the connecting galleries between the house and the wings were dismantled. In this form, the manor house appears in our time.

On the first floor of the Big House, visitors are met by the owner of the estate - N.A. Nekrasov.

And we go up to the second floor, go to visit the family of Fedor Alekseevich Nekrasov.

The office of F.A. Nekrasov, the poet's brother. At first, Fedor Alekseevich was the manager of the estate. In 1867, the poet rewrites the bill of sale for his brother, and Fedor Alekseevich becomes the owner of the entire Karabikha and the surrounding wastelands.

Noteworthy is the waste paper basket, on each side of which the initials “N.N.” are carved. The basket belonged to N.A. Nekrasov, was brought by Fyodor Alekseevich from St. Petersburg after the death of the poet.

This room has access to a balcony.

The balcony offers a beautiful view of the front flower parterre in front of big house. According to the curators of the museum, the parterre has been restored in the form in which it was during the time of the Nekrasovs.

We pass through the office of Natalya Pavlovna Nekrasova, the second wife of Fyodor Alekseevich.

The ladies' desk (end of the 19th century) always stood in this room and belonged to N.P. Nekrasova.

Bedroom N.P. Nekrasova.

Nekrasov bought Karabikha from the princes Golitsyn with part of the furnishings, the Nekrasov family always carefully kept these things. The living room of the manor house met its purpose at all times of the existence of the estate, some of the things in the interior of the living room (portraits and a piano) have been preserved from the time of the previous owners.

From the living room there is access to the balcony, which offers a beautiful view of the Lower Park, Bolshaya Polyana.

After inspecting the living quarters of the Big House, we go up to the attic, ahead of us is the Belvedere.

In the attic, it is worth stopping and looking from the inside at the fastening system of the second floor ceiling system.

In hot weather, it is impossible to stay in the attic for a long time - the attic room warms up thoroughly. We overcome the last small flight of stairs.

Before us is the Belvedere site.

It is small and round. The whole estate, as in the palm of your hand, in addition, you can view the surrounding area. Lower park, front parterre and East wing from above observation deck.

After inspecting the manor territory from a height, we leave the Big House and go to the Eastern Wing. The poet stayed here during his visits to Karabikha. Now the wing houses the exposition “Personal rooms of N.A. Nekrasov”.

We go up the front stairs. It appeared as a result of the adaptation of the East Wing for the life of the poet in it. Its design has been preserved since the end of the 19th century.

The first room in Nekrasov's private quarters is the dining room. This location is due to the proximity to the stairs, which climbed ready meals from the kitchen on the lower floor.

The largest and brightest room in the suite of living quarters is the living room. She served as a place literary creativity, as it was removed from the noisy courtyard of the estate. The furnishings of the living room have been partially preserved; a fireplace and a mirror on it, a fireplace chair, a bust of Walter Scott on a pedestal, a pair of dressing tables, and an ottoman sofa are in their places. The furnishings of the living room reflected the taste and habits of Nikolai Alekseevich, combining elements of the front and private type of premises.

From the living room you can go to the balcony. In front of us is the manor yard and the Big House with the Belvedere. It can be assumed that Nikolai Alekseevich, during his summer holidays, had the same "view" pictures that opened before us now.

The cabinet continues the enfilade of living quarters. He and the next bedroom were inaccessible to outsiders. Here the poet was engaged in editorial work, business correspondence.

The bedroom completes the series of living quarters. This room was private. Few people had access here, so the descriptions of the bedroom in the memoirs of relatives are minimal. The furnishings of the bedroom have not been preserved.

Our journey through the Nekrasov estate ended, we spent two and a half hours here. We were pressed for time, there was still ahead long road. The estate fascinated me, I did not want to leave. You should come here for the whole day, calmly walk in the parks, explore the rest of the buildings of the estate, and look at other museum expositions. In the Big House there is a buffet, you can have a bite to eat.

Welcome to visit the Nekrasov family. Guests are welcome here, I had a very sincere conversation with the museum curators - they talk about the poet and his brother's family with big love and inspiration.

State Literary and Memorial
N. A. Nekrasov Museum-Reserve
"Karabiha"

The State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve of N. A. Nekrasov "Karabikha" is located in the village of Karabikha, Yaroslavl District, Yaroslavl Region, 15 km south of Yaroslavl, near the urban-type settlement of Krasnye Tkachi. On its territory there is an old manor, a number of outbuildings and two parks.

The Nekrasov estate is often called "the only estate complex in the Yaroslavl region of the second half of the 18th - early 20th centuries that has retained its original architectural appearance."

Initially, the village of Bogorodskoye, which belonged to the famous family of the princes Golitsyn, was located on this territory. By order of the owners in the 40s of the XVIII century. the construction of the manor begins. Time passes, generations change, as a result, the Golitsyn family estate remains practically without owners, slowly decaying. This is what Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov buys. All household cares about the estate were taken over by the brother of the classic - Fyodor, who settled in the Big House. Nekrasov himself modestly occupied the East Wing, using it as a summer dacha.

In 1861 - 1875, the poet spends several summers here, writes his famous poems "Russian Women", "Frost, Red Nose", the poem "Orina, the Soldier's Mother" and a number of others, begins work on the work "Who Lives Well in Russia" . On his last visit to Karabikha, Nekrasov visited all the memorable and dear places to him: in Yaroslavl, in the school he created and at the grave of his mother in Abakumtsevo, on the ashes of the old parental home in Greshnev.

After the revolution, the fate of the former manor was not much different from similar "noble nests". It was nationalized, later the Burlaki state farm, a sanatorium, and an orphanage were located here. Fortunately, almost immediately after the war, the estate was still recognized as a monument of history and culture.

On December 5, 1946, a resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR "On measures to perpetuate the memory of N. A. Nekrasov in connection with the 125th anniversary of his birth" was adopted. The Yarslav regional executive committee was instructed to restore the Karabikha estate and organize a memorial museum of N. A. Nekrasov in it, which became a branch of the local history museum. On September 4, 1987, the museum-estate of N. A. Nekrasov was transformed into the State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve of N. A. Nekrasov "Karabikha" with branches in Abakumtsevo and Greshnevo.

Estate architecture

The estate ensemble includes residential and outbuildings, 2 parks - regular and landscape, a system of ponds with a cascade.

The main architectural ensemble of the estate consists of the main house and two outbuildings, previously united by 2-storey galleries. The layout and interior design elements dating back to the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th centuries have been preserved in the Big House. The buildings of the outbuildings retained elements of an earlier period, for example, fragments of baroque architraves and window openings with a semicircular completion in the East wing, typical of the 17th - early 18th centuries.

Of interest is also the ensemble of the Horse Yard, built around 1810 using "exemplary" projects, originally a symmetrical 3-part composition, consisting of a central building and two outbuildings - carriage houses. At the beginning of the 20th century, a 2-storey residential building was built on the site of the northern carriage house.

Exposition of the museum-reserve "Karabikha"

The exposition starts from the second floor. The rooms of the Big House, as well as the East Wing, are adjacent.

Little has been preserved from the former situation, furniture and other things were painstakingly collected by the museum staff from the former ruined estates. And even though most of these items were not owned by the Nekrasovs themselves, they still have the spirit of the times. Some of the items were donated by the poet's family.

In the first room we see a bust of the poet by M. F. Chizhov. The second hall initially served as an office for N. A. Nekrasov. Here are interesting photographs illustrating the childhood and youth of the poet, documents of that era. The collection of the following rooms is diverse and designed in the spirit of noble estates: elegant suites, numerous rare books and magazines in heavy cabinets, a large collection of photographs and portraits, paintings and engravings, documents, furnishings and cute trinkets, a lot of mirrors in carved frames, an indispensable piano and a card table, a fireplace and a striking clock.

Hunting themes are everywhere: weapons, stuffed birds.

A cute pencil case, pasted over with striped malachite wallpaper, which belonged to the poet's nephew Konstantin Fedorovich Nekrasov, here you should pay attention to a large secretary with writing materials and an interesting bookcase, you can see black and white photographs and look out the window at the park spread out in front of the house .

Exposition of the Big House

The exposition in the East Wing is also interesting, here the Nekrasov spirit is especially felt.
