Images of 4 basic perinatal matrices. Stanislav Grof: Parents “get” completely formed personalities

Put everything aside for a minute, close your eyes and try to remember your first childhood memories. How old were you? What do you remember?

Stanislav Grof, one of the founders of transpersonal psychology and the theory of perinatal matrices, believes that memories of our intrauterine life, development, and all stages of childbirth are stored in the depths of the subconscious.

We remember not only bodily sensations, but also emotions of high intensity and intensity. These memories leave in the psyche - the unconscious -deep footprint, influencing further fate: forming behavioral patterns, attitudes towards the world, towards oneself, towards people around, and even a predisposition to diseases.

Sometimes we catch ourselves feeling that we are “stepping on the same rake”, “running in a circle”, from which it is difficult to escape, sometimes we are overwhelmed by strange inexplicable feelings and vague images ... And we do not understand what is happening, where This? Often the reason may lie in the sacrament of birth.

"When we return to the experience of our birth in deep self-exploration, we find that the resurrection of each stage of labor is associated with various experiential patterns that are characterized by a particular combination of emotions, physical sensations and symbolic images. I call these patterns basic perinatal matrices." (c) S. Grof.

Grof identifies four basic perinatal matrices.

It should be noted that the theory of perinatal matrices is not considered scientific now, since no experimental data have been obtained to confirm it.

Stages of development and childbirth and their correspondence to basic perinatal matrices (BPM)

BPM 1, "The Naivety Matrix". It is formed from the moment of conception and continues throughout the pregnancy until the first contraction.

BPM 2, The Victim Matrix. Formed from the first contraction until the cervix is fully dilated, normally lasts 4-5 hours (up to 10 at the first birth)

BPM 3, "The Matrix of Struggle". It is formed from the moment of full disclosure of the cervix until the birth of the child, lasts from 20 minutes to 2 hours at the first birth.

BPM 4, "Freedom Matrix". It is formed from the moment the child is born and lasts up to 3-9 days.

Let us consider in detail the development of a person from conception to the first days of life.

BPM 1. "Matrix of Naivety", "Paradise Matrix".

This is the matrix of the unity of the child and mother. The whole world, the whole universe for a child during nine months of pregnancy is the womb. The child is in it in a state of security, at an ideal comfortable temperature, always full, in a comfortable relaxed position. All his needs are met. These are oceanic experiences of complete serenity and tranquility.

With a normal pregnancy and if the child is desired, the ability to accept oneself, rejoice, relax, develop, and feel oneself a part of nature is formed.

BPM injury 1.

The threat of abortion, miscarriage, toxicosis and diseases of the mother form the fear of death, a feeling of uselessness, inability to relax. "No one needs me", "If I relax, I will die or get sick." An unwanted child may feel guilty for the very fact of his existence, the pain that he is not accepted as he is.

BPM 2. "The Matrix of Sacrifice", "No Escape", "Expulsion from Paradise"

It starts from the moment of the first contraction until the opening of the cervix.

A comfortable environment, the whole loving and safe world of a child suddenly suddenly becomes aggressive - it begins to shrink, it hurts to squeeze and "kill". And there is nowhere to go, there is no way out. The child finds himself in a situation of threat and horror, hopelessness, hopelessness. It is believed that at this stage of childbirth, the ability to wait and endure in difficult situations, fear of death, guilt is laid.

BPM 2 injuries

Short matrix or its absence.

Occurs with caesarean section or rapid delivery. A person develops impatience, an inability to see things through to the end and fight, a feeling that all problems can be solved quickly. "You never have to put in the effort." People with insufficient BPM 2 tend to give up when something doesn't work on the first try, they don't have the persistence to achieve goals.

long matrix.

Occurs during prolonged childbirth and forms the role of the victim. A person in life can often find himself in situations where he is put under pressure and usually does not resist, but endures. People with an injured matrix 2 often live with a feeling of "falling into a trap" or under the slogan "there is no way out, but you have to endure."

BPM 3. "The Matrix of Struggle", "There is a Way Out"

It starts from the moment the uterus opens until birth. Mother and child act together: they both push and fight for a common goal.

At this stage, the child has a way out in the world that is squeezing and killing him. The body, which has been in the “fetal position” for nine months in a state of lightness and weightlessness, is subjected to severe compression, hypoxia, and unusually arches during passage through the birth canal. This first path in life - to freedom - the "path of the hero", is full of pain, effort and suffering. But he is also full of hope. Aggression, the ability to fight, determination, self-expression: "I can!", Courage, a sense of disgust and disgust are laid in this matrix. Also at this stage, sexuality is laid.

BPM 3 injuries

Short matrix. Formed inability to fight, to defend their interests. A person is inclined to expect help in solving problems from outside - a "magic pendal" - when obstetricians push the child out. If a child was born with the use of forceps, this can lead to the “it is dangerous to take help” pattern and the person will refuse it.

long matrix. Too protracted period of childbirth forms the divisive "life is a struggle." Such people find situations where it is necessary to fight with someone, they do not feel the lightness of being, the joy of simple solutions.

BPM 4. Freedom Matrix, Paradise Returns

The child, after long and difficult experiences, finds himself at liberty. The main leitmotif of the fourth matrix is freedom after effort. In a sense, the fourth matrix is a mystical experience of death and rebirth: a person who existed in a serene "womb universe" dies and is reborn in a completely new quality. Contact with the new world is a huge stress. On the one hand, the terror of the killing pressure had ceased. But on the other hand, he finds himself in a hostile and, most importantly, unusual world. Here is a different temperature, suffocation before the first breath, there is no amniotic fluid and the first collision with gravity occurs, here is helplessness. At this stage, it is very important that the child immediately finds himself in the arms of his mother and feels security and warmth, a familiar smell. This is the return of Paradise, reconciliation with a new unfamiliar world.

BPM injury 4.

The child is separated from the mother immediately after birth. After the difficulties of childbirth, after the "hero's journey", the child finds himself in an aggressive environment: they begin to weigh him, wash him, measure him, put him on a cold table. In this case, the pattern "Everything was in vain. Why make an effort if everything ends so badly?" - a person does not see the point in actions, since they "do not lead to anything good." Freedom by such people can be regarded not as a value, but as loneliness and coldness.

Violations in the basic perinatal matrices can and should be corrected! Love, acceptance, attention, some special methods of education in the first years of a child's life largely compensate for the traumatic consequences.

Adults who want to look into the mystery of their birth and work through Negative consequences may use holotropic breathing techniques.

As always, we have a choice: we can fully live the corresponding stage of life and resolve the burden associated with it, or we can get stuck in it, and then the development of the situation can turn against the child.

First matrix: intrauterine phase (conception and pregnancy)

In the case of a fully lived first matrix, the child feels himself floating freely in a perfect paradise. He is a welcome child and feels himself in the seventh heaven or like in a country with milk rivers and jelly banks. If he lives this time in a negative way, because he is unwanted or undergoes abortion attempts, he feels like in hell, full of mistrust and despondency and doomedly waiting for new meanness from his entourage.
We are talking about a long period of time from nidation to a later phase, when the fetus first stumbles upon the boundaries of its former boundless world. Ideally, the feeling that arises from this should be a feeling of unity with the whole world. Regressive dreams of a land of milk rivers and kissel banks in the later life are connected with this early situation. But never again will a child experience this state in such a pure form as at the beginning of his life. All regressive attempts to return this world end in disappointment and frustration.
Our deep aspirations are directed towards unity, although the divine, sacred world for a person who has grown up in polarity is not on this Earth: you can find access to it only by following the spiritual path. In earthly life, we can experience opposites one by one and must take into account the influence of polarities. If we are looking for total security, then we doom ourselves to feel its spatial boundaries in their oppressive, restrictive crampedness. If we are striving for complete freedom, then we also encounter the cold that surrounds us at its height.
There is nothing left for us but to sacrifice this heavenly state of unity in order to advance on the path of life and regain unity for more high level. A variety of spiritual traditions describe transcendental states that allow us to rediscover the beauty of the first phase of our lives (The technique can be especially effective in experiencing this state. bound breathing, since only in the depths of our own essence can we return to that quality that cannot be reached at the level of external experiences).
People with a positive experience of interaction with the first matrix live, experiencing full-fledged basal trust and taking everything for granted. They are self-confident and seem to be the minions of fate, to whom life gives everything and for whom everything turns out as if by itself. True, such a full-blooded living of the first matrix is fraught with the danger that self-confidence can deprive them of the opportunity to adequately evaluate themselves, especially if they tend to ignore any criticism. Under a lucky star it is difficult for them to see dark clouds, which as a result often form a huge shadow around them.
These people are easy to find. positive aspects in life changes, but it is more difficult for them to free themselves from the influence of the mother and dependence on her. They can free themselves from many things, but they cling to this hem especially tightly, not least because they have such wonderful experiences with their mother. Their main chance is to grow up through inner liberation from their mother and truly take responsibility for their lives, and not masterfully stage it. Let us recall the heroines of fairy tales and myths, who somehow had to lose their usual paradise in order to later regain it at a higher level. Otherwise, there is a danger that they will remain eternal teenagers or eternal girls.

Second Matrix: Opening Phase

While the first matrix promises heavenly bliss, the second can be compared rather with expulsion from paradise. Having bumped into the boundaries of its space, the fetus feels that the mother's womb fetters and limits it, and the situation becomes more and more tough. His own growth continuously increases this pressure until, in the opening phase, it reaches its first peak. Incredible pressure compresses and nourishes blood vessels, which can cause sensations of coldness and suffocation, which are often re-experienced as part of reincarnation therapy or a bonded breathing session. The child is stuck in a dead end. There is no way back to paradise, and the one that opens before him inspires fear, primarily because it is boundless. There seems to be no way out. The light at the end of the tunnel is not visible because the uterine os has not yet opened.
The situation of hopelessness leaves an imprint on people who are stuck in consciousness in the second matrix. They often feel that they are at the limit of their capabilities, they feel the pressure that plunged them into a hopeless state even during the fights, and in everyday life. They do not know what will happen to them next, and a sense of meaninglessness can become decisive in their lives. For part of their lives, they may suffer from fears that are activated in explosive situations that lead from their point of view to a dead end. The consequence is a flight reflex in the direction of the old prosperous world of the first matrix.
In looking for a way out of the burden of a strongly pronounced second matrix, it can be helpful to look at the circumstances of a particular person's birth. In this phase, the child presses his head more and more into the still unopened uterine os. Pain and suffering become subjectively unbearable, there is no light, no way out. But at some point, it is this pressure that provokes the opening of the uterine os, and a breakthrough into the next phase begins. In the same way, pressure makes sense in life, helping to open gates and doors, especially if we endure it and deal with it consciously - and, of course, do not lose faith that one day this situation will be resolved.
There is an association with the passage of the underworld, without which it is impossible to enter the light. However, many people who are negatively fixed on the second matrix are roasting in hell. most their lives, because they do not lose faith that it is in regression that salvation and deliverance awaits them, and they try to escape. Such people should be helped to realize that in the flow of search they forgot about such an important component of it as the ability to find a way out.
If we feel into a typical situation for such a person, we can understand what kind of frustration his attitude to life is imbued with. For example, a person tends to study carelessly until exam time comes; breaks off relationships just before they threaten to become committed, and then spends a lot of time grieving over unfinished life situations and open questions. People of the second matrix are distinguished not only by low frustration tolerance, but also often face the problem that they want to achieve a lot at the same time in different areas and, as a result, scatter their forces. If they manage to concentrate energy on one goal, they often have enough resources to ensure that efforts are crowned with success.

Third Matrix: Struggle for Birth

After the child has endured a long phase of pressure and hopelessness, the turn of the third phase comes. Pressure, which does not make much sense to resist, stimulates the gradual opening of the uterine os. A second wind opens, new forces are mobilized. As soon as the light dawned on the horizon again - an image that could well owe its appearance to the situation of obstetric care - the situation, although not losing tension, nevertheless becomes not so deadlocked. Hope comes, even if the forces are already completely exhausted.
A child experiences the same thing when he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. The actual struggle for birth begins, associated with painful and frightening sensations. Passing through the birth canal, the child at every moment feels oppression, pushing out. His head pushes through blood and feces, but from that moment he can start to fight for life.
Each of the many traumatic moments of this phase can, being unprocessed, resurface years or decades later and for a completely different reason. Fear of open spaces and sexual deviations, such as a tendency to suffocate, arousal in connection with the acts of excretion of feces and urine, suddenly find explanations when the third matrix is taken into account. Since the pain of constraint and the joy of release often go hand in hand in this phase, some describe this time space as the first sexual experience.
People fixed on the third matrix can turn into tireless fighters who do not lose sight of their goal even for a moment. They love change and sometimes disaster. Indefatigability may be one of their hallmarks. And if a person with problems in the second matrix in life is accompanied by feelings of fear and meaninglessness, then the prisoners of the third matrix feel obliged to prove to themselves and the world how strong they are in spirit, kind, or how much better they are than others.
In the context of the doctrine of first principles, these people, being Plutonists, are often well acquainted with God realms of the dead because in this phase of exile, children are closer than ever to death. In general, the third matrix is the most dangerous fragment of the act of birth and is associated with the largest number complications.
If the problem of the people of the second matrix is that they tend to give up and run away, then the third difficulty arises with the completion of the case and relaxation. Death and rebirth are the central theme of their lives, but they are often replaced by continuous external changes, testing their strength in a jump on next level development. The ersatz rituals of puberty are associated with this phase, as well as all varieties of extreme sports and many other life-threatening attempts to grow up.
The emergence of problems in connection with any phase is always associated with a lack of awareness. Just as an infant had to lose its former paradise and struggle to survive outside the mother's body, many large children try to take the leap into adulthood. However, in the absence of awareness, such a rebirth of a person who is responsible for his actions is simply impossible. Bungee jumps, which African children have successfully performed for hundreds of years due to their ritual coloring, even if repeated a hundred times, will not lead us to the Goal. As a result, the hostages of the third matrix are forced to constantly seek new difficulties and trials for themselves, spurred on by an equally intense as well as mistaken hope that one more pushing the outer boundaries of fear and pain will finally grant them liberation.
Countless mythological battles with dragons indicate how mindfulness helps a person overcome his own immaturity. Fairytale and mythical monsters symbolize violent, instinctive and selfish forces that must be subdued. Only when these inner battles are won is the way open to the princess, a beautiful young woman, and with it to own soul. The final breakthrough is made, and the baby, like the adult, moves to a new level of life.

Fourth Matrix: Birth, Liberation

At the time of the final liberation, the child had overcome all the burdens, and life in freedom outside the mother's body opened up before him. All constraint is left behind, and the breadth of the new, unknown world is waiting for the new man to begin to know it. If the previous phases have been lived and suffered consciously, it is possible to leave the past behind and enter the present. At this moment, the opportunity opens up to start everything from scratch. Since everything starts from the beginning in understanding spiritual philosophy, first impressions can have a decisive influence on how a child perceives the world throughout later life.
Frederic Leboyer called our attention to the importance of first impressions in life, but, unfortunately, most of today's adults have not yet had the opportunity to come into the world through childbirth without violence. Blinded by the bright light, hard and suffocatingly forced to take their first breath, many of them have difficulty in how to use the freedom and development opportunities bestowed by the fourth matrix.
In this regard, there is a need to re-live the phases of childbirth that were not completed at the internal level in order to be able to truly free oneself from the sufferings of the past. Many people seek and instinctively find life situations and experiences that support them in this. And someone “hangs” in the same place and needs therapeutic help in order to enter into this process of liberation from generic models that have eaten away at him all the liver.
At the level of the soul, a step towards freedom means, first of all, taking responsibility for one's life. Only those who recognize the laws can take advantage of their potential polar world, that is, that each action carries the opposite aspect. When a person embarks on an independent path of gaining freedom, he receives the freedom to dispose of his life, but loses the security and security of a career as an official or official. On the other hand, every little bit of security marks the loss of freedom. The deeper we dare to plunge into the polarity of life, the wider the range of our opportunities for experience becomes.
Ideally, within the fourth matrix, a person makes a real breakthrough and can enjoy the fruits of their efforts. Such a person realized the opportunity to start the life that really suits him. In all significant breakthroughs, you can see the quality of this matrix.

Perinatal matrices by Stanislav Grof - interesting theory, deserving the attention of future parents: how do pregnancy and childbirth affect the baby? How do they affect his habits, character? Is it possible to correct something during childbirth and the postpartum period so that the baby is happier?

MY EXPERIENCE

For the first time, I learned about Grof's perinatal matrices at the age of 11, in the process of writing a competitive work on architecture. I dreamed of designing such a House in which each person would be comfortable, cozy, where everyone would recuperate after a working day, resting and relaxing. The main principle - bionics - is the use of natural elements, forms in the design.

And then a wonderful analogy was born to me - the House as the Womb, the House in which a person will feel like a small baby in the Mother's Womb - safe, easy, comfortable, blissful and carefree. Having delved into psychology, I found the works of Stanislav Grof ... And then a lot of discoveries awaited me.

I remembered the story of my birth: at some point during the contractions, my mother fainted. Doctors stopped childbirth, restored vital statistics, and started the process again. All my life I have struggled with situations of uncertainty, when I have to wait for a result, or an opportunity to act. Of course, this discovery has become a powerful resource for me: today I prepare the birth and gently accompany them like a doula, and I wait with reverence.

FIRST PREGNANCY AND BIRTH

My children and their birth also suggests that Stanislav Grof's system is not a simple theory. The eldest child during pregnancy was very patient, preferred to move rather than kick a full stomach, “stayed up” until 44 weeks and all births were not an active participant in the process, but responded to the work of the uterus, which “driven” him to the exit. In life, he often concedes, it is difficult for him to decide on a step, he moves forward almost with “kicks”.

SECOND PREGNANCY AND BIRTH

The younger child was active throughout the pregnancy, kicking, eliminating all sources of pressure on him - the stomach after eating, a full bladder. During childbirth, I sometimes had the feeling that a rocket was flying out of me - he walked on his own, very quickly and swiftly, faster than I could adapt to his pace! In life, this child is a leader, active, quick to react, strong, with character. He will not endure (unlike the eldest son), but will act, he easily finds mutual language with other children.

Funny moment: born in Bali, he heard English and Balinese throughout the last trimester, childbirth and the first year of his life. Today, at the age of three, he knows many English words, writes and speaks Russian and english alphabet. Sometimes Balinese words slip through him 🙂

STORIES OF DIFFERENT MOMS

Zoya: When I first heard about all this, I immediately puzzled my mother with the question: “How did I come into the world? Tell me all the details!" Mom assured me that I was a desired child, the birth took place on time, without any problems, and I was born a real beauty. True, there was one unusual moment ... At my birth, there was a whole crowd ... of African medical students who were trained in the Soviet Union. It turns out that the first thing I saw in my life was a group of black people in white coats. Has it affected my life? I don’t even know ... In all the children's photographs I am captured with my favorite toy - a plastic Negro. I loved the cartoon "Chunga-changa" and constantly sang songs from it. I have been afraid of crowds since childhood. I am especially horrified by the need to speak in front of a large number of people when all the attention of those present (even if they are not blacks) is riveted on me. So judge for yourself: did this whole story with the “aybolites” from the banks of Limpopo affect me or not.

Natalie 82: When I found out that I was pregnant with my second child, I told my son about this. He looked at my stomach and asked: “Is Lyalechka sitting there?” I nodded. "It's dark and wet in there," he said. I was just shocked. Then he was 3 years old, now he is five - he does not say anything like that anymore and does not remember.

Vera: When I heard such speeches from my baby, I was just taken aback ... Another son says that when he was sitting in his tummy, he played with a wire there. This, as I understand it, is the umbilical cord. Wow, it turns out that many children had such conversations. Why is there so little written and spoken about it? I think people would have a different attitude to childbirth.

Mila M: My daughter repeated many times that she remembers sitting in the dark. He says: "There was a snake with me, but it is not poisonous." Did she also mean the umbilical cord?

STANISLAV GROFF

Once upon a time, when the American psychologist Stanislav Grof lived in socialist Czechoslovakia and was researcher Prague University, happened to him extraordinary story: he went into a trance and relived his birth. This spiritual experience shocked the materialist and atheist Grof so much that he soon left his socialist homeland and went to America, where he continued his research. And, in the end, he devoted his whole life to this. He invented a way that allows any person to feel again in the womb of the mother and relive his birth. This is a special breathing technique- holotropic breathing. Grof and his followers believe that, having learned where the legs of his problems “grow”, a person soon gets rid of these problems.

Today among his followers there are many famous people. Remember the movie The Matrix? He has the most direct relation to Grof - the directors, the Wachowski brothers, once went to his lecture, were impressed and created their own film trilogy. Steven Spielberg is also his admirer, didn't Grof tell him to shoot Back to the Future!? And in our country there are many followers of Stanislav Grof, for example, Eduard Sagalaev, a well-known television figure. According to him, Holotropic Breathwork completely turned his life around and led him to God.

FOUR MATRIXES

In the course of research, Stanislav Grof revealed certain patterns obtained in the process of healing the psyche with the help of breathing practices. People often recalled their birth experience during Holotropic Breathwork and relived it over and over again.

Thus, 4 basic perinatal matrices were discovered, which are imprinted in our minds during pregnancy and childbirth. The extent to which these perinatal stages proceed naturally and harmoniously determines our ability to flexibly adapt to the limitations and difficulties of the material world into which we have come.

FIRST PERINATAL MATRIX

During pregnancy, the I basic perinatal matrix is laid. It carries information about symbiosis and harmony between mother and child. All positive and negative impressions of this matrix appear most clearly in the first 7 years of a person's life, but they have a powerful influence on his entire future life.

POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIRST MATRIX

In the stomach, the child experiences a state of love, unity with something greater, with the Creator. Developing from one cell, a person participates in the creation of himself. Thus he reveals the divine aspect in himself. It creates a sense of self-improvement. With a good pregnancy, a person has confidence in the growth process. He trusts the surrounding space, which protects and nourishes him, while the child experiences delight. This is the feeling of God in oneself and oneself in God. Returning with various methods regression into their intrauterine experiences, especially in the early stages, when they were not yet cramped in the stomach, people remember how they identified themselves with images of the Divine peace, harmony, abundance, the sound of beautiful music, magical paradise landscapes. In the process of rapid growth and incarnation, a person feels oceanic bliss.

NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIRST MATRIX

During the stress that the child experiences in the stomach, he experiences a state of self-rejection and fear. He's worried, he's stuck. The child does not trust the surrounding space, which is currently aggressive for him, doubts the successful process of self-improvement, because his process of creating himself at that moment is difficult, with obstacles, infringed by some stressful situation. If such experiences are dim, temporary, transient and rare, then they do not lead to the formation of negative character traits, but even help the child to further adapt to adverse environmental conditions. Remembering the stresses experienced in the stomach, people tell how they identified themselves with destructive images of burned fields, dry rivers, withered trees, cold suns, images of decay. They may remember quarrels between parents, mother's fright, her drug poisoning, or the desire for an abortion. If a negative experience often repeated in the womb, such people consider themselves disgusting throughout their lives, will make an appropriate personal history and behave in accordance with the prevailing image.

If a child gets used to experiencing large stress overloads in the stomach, then he loses the feeling of a strong connection with the Universe, and he loses confidence in this world. He develops such qualities as the inability to feel creative processes, he ceases to have confidence in himself and in God, because he loses the feeling link with his intention, he ceases to feel energy flows and therefore he has no reason to trust the universe.

A person who did not receive protection in the prenatal period - at a time when he needed this protection and security to harmonious development most of all, he will psychologically need increased protection and guardianship throughout his life and even in adulthood will show infantile traits. Since the creation of himself was violated or infringed on him, his desire for creativity may be suppressed - he will experience uncertainty in creative process and not be able to enjoy it. And to create only for the sake of the process - even in early age- it will be difficult for him, the slightest failure will lead him to curtail creative activity and disappointment in his abilities. He will always strive to achieve the goal and not notice the charm of the process itself.

Self-doubt gives rise to jealousy in such a person, backed up by a subconscious belief that "it is impossible to truly love such an insignificant person." This uncertainty creates frequent shift partner in order to feed the insatiable desire to assert itself... A negative view of the nature of the surrounding world and one's own nature gives rise to destructive tendencies. And the loss of a link with intention makes childbirth difficult and prevents the child in childbirth from harmonizing with the birth stream.

People with negative I BPM are unhappy people, often workaholics, sacrificing their interests for the sake of self-affirmation. Sometimes it’s not the family that is more important to them, but a lot of admirers, sometimes sacrificing everything for the sake of science, there are such people among scientists - if they are deep specialists only in their field, but otherwise they are helpless children. It is important for such people to work out their perinatal experience, to remember and realize the reasons for their insecurity and insecurity. After that they become happy.

SECOND PERINATAL MATRIX

During the harbingers and fights, the second basic perinatal matrix is laid - its content is the passive aspect of the will. It is characterized as a state of hopelessness. This matrix manifests itself most clearly at the age of 7–14 years of a person's life. Then, in a well-developed form, it helps a person to cope with difficulties throughout life. This matrix is formed during cervical dilation and ends with full dilation when the baby is ready to crawl out. Archetypally, this can be perceived as something like "expulsion from paradise." At this stage, the child finally realizes the duality of the world: “It turns out that there is me, and there is the world around, and this world around can be favorable or unfavorable.” Prior to this, the child felt his complete unity with the outside world. At the same time, all experiences at this stage are still passive. "Something is wrong, I must leave this world, I am not worthy to be here, but simply - I do not fit here, this world is crowding me out." Humility is formed: "Come what may." But this feeling of humility gradually dries up, a feeling of distrust for the world is born, which is no longer able to protect, and a desire arises to fight the situation - this is where the phase of the passive matrix II ends, it is replaced by the phase of the active matrix III.

POSITIVE SECOND PERINATAL MATRIX

The child during labor experiences a state of humility with the situation, he contemplates and accepts. It is experienced as the knowledge of misfortune, deprivation and at the same time the knowledge that one does not die from this, a feeling of self-sacrifice. According to the perception of the child, painful states are endlessly repeated - again and again being activated and replaced by periods of rest.

This allows the child to develop such qualities as humility and patience, the ability to endure difficulties. In the future, these qualities can be useful for developing the ability to contemplate and meditate. In addition, a change in the child's environment during contractions develops the perception of the duality of the world, and this is the basis for logical thinking. For survival, this matrix gives the newborn the ability to take a punch. If the birth was quick, then in such a person the ability to wait and allow something to be structured, the passive aspect of the will will be less manifested. Therefore, older children are often more patient, because the younger ones are born faster. Perhaps these qualities are especially important for older children who are called to help parents with younger ones.

NEGATIVE SECOND PERINATAL MATRIX

With a long and painful phase of contractions, infantilism, lack of initiative is fixed, which leads to a passive lifestyle. Due to prolonged suffering and getting used to it, even masochism can form. Patience in traumatized people according to the II matrix is overdeveloped. With low self-esteem, they often scold themselves, they are ready to be punished for the slightest misconduct, considering themselves to be guilty of everything. At the same time, they are irresponsible, because they consider themselves insignificant people, on whom nothing can depend. This is how future experimental subjects, victims, people who are not aware of their needs, are born. They are attracted to work associated with uncreative and non-initiative heavy monotonous work or even with violence against them; it is these people who can agree to low-paid work, not defend their interests.

The main condition for creating trauma according to the II matrix in our maternity hospitals now is drug stimulation. Oxytocin gives an untimely and too strong uterine tone, the woman does not have time to open up, this leads to increased pain. At the same time, the woman no longer understands anything, awareness disappears, fear grows, the woman is pinched, which entails emotional and psychological trauma to the child.

THIRD PERINATAL MATRIX

During attempts, the III Basic Perinatal Matrix is laid. It is most pronounced subsequently in adolescents aged 14–21 years. In the stomach, it is experienced as a separation between mother and child - the baby feels that that beautiful and cozy world where he lived is no longer there.

POSITIVE THIRD PERINATAL MATRIX

During attempts, the feeling of paradise that the child experienced in fetal life collapses. The state of losing paradise gives rise to the first feeling of atheism that can be in a person's life. This rudimentary form of atheism will play huge role in the formation of thinking and flexibility of human perception. In this state, the child experiences not only disappointment in paradise, but also revolutionary tendencies. Desperate, a person seeks a way out of the situation, resigned, a person rises and fights. If logic was laid down during Matrix II, then here - going beyond logic, paradoxical thinking, insight, discovery. Out of duality, something third is born. From logic - a paradox, going beyond. Reproducing in memory the period of harmonious attempts of their birth, people perceive images of dramatic battles, revolutionary plots, personal virtuoso victories. They overcome some tension with their own bright activity, initiative. They seek and find, dare and win, take risks and are rewarded.

This matrix is designed to awaken in a person being born such qualities as the ability to move towards a goal, unbending intention, the ability to question dogmas, courage, daring, the ability to overcome limits. In the future, these qualities develop such traits as the ability to give change, respond with action to the blows of fate, activity in defending one's rights, and a critical view of things.

NEGATIVE THIRD PERINATAL MATRIX

The state that a child experiences during too strong attempts, stimulated by oxytocin, is far from harmony and serenity. This matrix, already colored by the energy of struggle, in an accentuated version carries information of aggression, antagonism, overflowing with fear and despair. Here the attitude is already being formed to fight, not so much for the sake of achieving a goal, but to fight simply for the sake of fighting, where the goal, means, state, external and inner world mixes up in the opened subconscious labyrinths, leaving a contradictory imprint on the psyche of the newborn and the woman in labor. People recall images of wars, destruction, catastrophes, plunging into the memories of their negative III matrix.

The more negatively colored the III matrix, the more cruel qualities it introduces into the character of the born child. Experiencing severe pain during birth, the child absorbs with these pains information about sadism, aggression, rigid limits and suppression of harmony. Such people feel good in responsible positions that require the manifestation of violence and power - bosses, commanders.

FOURTH PERINATAL MATRIX

Immediately after birth, the IV Basic Perinatal Matrix is laid. It is most clearly manifested in life at the age of 21-28. This matrix ideally symbolizes the end of suffering, restoration and peace. As well as the end of life in a closed space and the beginning of life in another world, with completely different conditions and parameters. There is a unity between the mother and the child, which was shaken during childbirth. Everything harmonizes internal processes the child is attuned to the mother. His heart rate, breathing, nutrition, movement in space, heat transfer - everything happens in sync with his mother. Even the hormonal background after childbirth and during feeding in a child is interconnected with mother's.

The child sensitively reacts to all changes in the state of the mother, and the mother intuitively adjusts to the needs of the child. In the first hours of a child's life, and indeed in all the first days of his life, the child's attention is very active. A newborn is saturated with impressions, receives information about the world in huge volumes. A picture of the world is imprinted in the mind and subconscious of the child, which will influence his worldview throughout his subsequent life.

In the first moments in the mind of a newborn, the so-called imprinting occurs - and it depends on us what it will be like for our baby. Meeting our child in this world, being a guide for him, we are responsible for this moment, receiving full benefits both from above and from the newborn for a well-fulfilled mission.

POSITIVE FOURTH PERINATAL MATRIX

Immediately after the birth, in the arms of the mother, the child experiences a state of returning back to paradise, finding the lost happiness. This experience of happiness is no longer the same as in the stomach. Previously, the child did not know that he was in paradise. Then, when paradise was lost, he realized how good it was there. After regaining peace and happiness, the child begins to realize this feeling. If his confidence in the world was formed in his stomach, then now, when he understood and established himself in the caring and tenderness of this world, his true faith, conviction is being formed. This is a prerequisite to the formation of vision, the perception of non-verbal knowledge, to the state of enlightenment and insight. People, recalling this amazing moment of their lives, see images of an explosion that completes all chaos, stopping the world, and after that, the revival of life.

The well-past first hours after childbirth lay in a person such qualities as the ability of true faith in God, in oneself, in nature. The inner conviction in the existence of happiness, paradise, love is not even faith, but a true vision of divine laws and a direct perception of happiness, readiness for it.

The inner conviction in the existence of happiness, paradise, love is not even faith, but a true vision of divine laws and a direct perception of happiness, readiness for it. After a complete loss of faith and hope for beautiful world, which was experienced and perceived throughout the III matrix, now, when a person gains everything, having lost everything, he is open to the perception of the harmonic energies of the universe, even when he stays in the most difficult situations- he has immunity to them, which is laid down by nature for the purest perception, not clouded by any stereotypes, and therefore this immunity to the complexities of our world is the strongest. Of course, much can be corrected with care and upbringing. If we are able to show love for a child, then this compensates for a lot.

According to the intensity of imprinting on the child's consciousness, the IV matrix is laid down in descending order - the first hour, the first 3 days, the first 3 months, the first year, the first 7 years, childhood. But the most important for imprinting is 1 hour of life! Of course, people are open to transforming, consciousness-liberating experience throughout their lives, but it is a powerful start that gives a person primary energy for life.

This matrix also creates imprinting in the mother - after all, a woman, having given birth herself, in the first hour is filled with such a hormonal bouquet that at this moment she is as open as possible to love that she can pour out on a child and thus establish strong maternal bonds between him and herself, set him up and themselves to harmonious interaction, full of love. Thanks to such care, the child gains trust in the world, through learning to trust his mother. A person gets the ability to feel like a drop in the ocean, which is the basis of the spiritual perception of the world. This matrix is the final one. It gives the ability to be creative, but not the same as in the I matrix - not for the sake of the process, but already for the sake of achieving a creative result. People who receive maximum care in the first hours of life, and then in the first year, get an excellent start in order to become self-sufficient, constructive, creative people.

NEGATIVE FOURTH PERINATAL MATRIX

The child receives such ideas about the world as what pictures he sees in the first hour. These images are imprinted into his subconscious to cast a shadow and light on his perception of the world around him all his life. At adverse conditions the newborn gets "out of the fire and into the frying pan." The difficult process of childbirth has just been completed, the child, according to all natural laws, should receive compensation, a “reward”, rest.

Deprived of shelter on the mother's breast, mother's warmth, attunement with her heartbeat, breathing, and simply comfortable rest and freedom of movement, tightly swaddled, having undergone the so-called necessary postpartum medical manipulations, having lost the portion of umbilical cord blood that was due to him, lying alone and looking at the ceiling …

The child concludes that life is a struggle and pain. It was difficult and scary to be born, but even after the birth it didn’t feel good, there was misfortune and soulless space around. A child, even wrapped in thick blankets, does not warm himself and the surrounding space on his own, he must warm himself from his mother, and left to himself, he experiences cosmic cold - only vital important centers, the rest cools down. Immobility in a blanket only exacerbates the picture.

A mother who is deprived of the opportunity to take care of her child, to breastfeed him, pumped up with drugs, who has not gone through all the birth processes on her own, receives hormonal disbalance, loses the opportunity to pour out his love on the child, to show maternal feelings. It is very difficult for her to establish contact with the child, and sometimes develop love for him ... The images that arise when people return to the memory of this matrix: a cold hell, when everything seemed to start to improve, and then completely collapsed. Hopelessness. Deserted, lifeless, cold landscapes, loneliness.

Under unfavorable postpartum conditions, a person develops such qualities as pessimism, anti-ecology, aimlessness, lack of faith, closeness from the world, distrust. A person cannot afford to experience the pleasure of life, it seems to him that no one needs him, he is abandoned, burdensome to himself, to the world, such a person cannot afford to simply be. The creativity of an adult without striving for a result is the result of a broken BPM IV. An anti-ecological attitude to the world, when a person is not interested in what will happen in the world after him, and therefore the destruction of the environment.

The destruction of various human values, resources - after all, such a person has no connection with the future, the future does not promise him anything good. Even if such people achieve their goals, they do not feel happy. In interaction with people, they develop an impersonal, impersonal approach. People who are left alone in the first hours after childbirth, deprived of care and communication with their mother, find it difficult to have personal communication filled with love. These endlessly yearning, not feeling love people have to do a lot of work on themselves in order to open themselves to this world.

Conditions for the formation of an unfavorable IV BPM: immediately cut the umbilical cord, without waiting for the pulsation to stop, take the child away from the mother, hit him on the pope, “to yell”, drip medicine into his eyes, intensively pump out mucus from his nose, “to started quickly breathe”, get him vaccinated as soon as possible, instead of colostrum from the mother’s breast, give the newborn a mixture or glucose from a bottle to eat, direct a bright lamp at his eyes, swaddle tightly and put him on his back, leave him alone, and so on - you can come up with many procedures that interfere with the recovery of the child.

WHAT CAN PARENTS DO?

All this information would be useless if we could not influence the course of pregnancy and childbirth, if we did not choose the place, conditions and method of giving birth to a baby. It seems to me that one of the most important tasks loving parents- to understand how they can help their baby enter this world as gently and smoothly as possible, wisely, without interfering, help to live through these basic development matrices.

You will learn about the main points from the physiological side of Childbirth, about what is worth considering, what needs to be done and what not, from the webinar of midwife Margarita Revati “Perinatal matrices by Stanislav Grof. Birth through the eyes of a child”:

The neonatal crisis is an intermediate stage between the intrauterine and extrauterine lifestyle of a child. A newborn is so helpless that if there were no adult nearby, he would die within a few hours after birth. So it turns out that at the time of childbirth and immediately after it, a person needs society.

Grof matrix

According to psychoanalysts, birth is the first trauma that a child experiences, and it is so strong that it affects the rest of his life. Stanislav Grof, for example, argued that certain personality traits, character traits, behavioral characteristics and our subsequent psychological problems are directly dependent on the birth process. He identified several stages of childbirth - 4 basic perinatal matrices:

  • contractions (matrix 1);
  • passage through the birth canal (matrix 2);
  • actual childbirth (matrix 3);
  • primary contact with the mother (matrix 4).

Based on what problems the baby had to face at one or another stage of birth, or, on the contrary, how successfully they were passed, the personality of an adult is built in the future.

To solve "adult" problems, Grof, using the method of holotropic breathing specially developed by him (a special breathing technique somewhat reminiscent of hyperventilation of the lungs), introduced his patients into a state similar to a trance, and made them experience the trauma of birth again and again - until until all four stages have been successfully completed.

Any pregnant woman tunes in to the fact that soon she will have to work properly. Future mothers carefully prepare for this important event: they listen to the heartbreaking stories of their girlfriends, study the physiology of labor to the smallest detail, learn breathing techniques, master relaxation techniques, memorize poses that facilitate contractions ... in a word, they want to be fully armed.

But then the long-awaited moment comes, and all the preparatory work flies into hell; only occasionally, in moments of enlightenment, chaotic scraps of acquired knowledge and skills flash in memory every now and then, which can provide significant assistance to a woman in labor or, at least, give her self-confidence.

On the one hand, everything goes on as usual - regardless of us, and at the same time, our actions play a huge role in the successful completion of childbirth. The bottom line is how we work with the baby.

Through the eyes of a child

Let's try to look at the situation from the other side - from the side of a small, at first glance, absolutely helpless creature, your part, your child. For 9 long months, he stayed in a rather specific, but, no doubt, very cozy place - your uterus. He lived quietly there, slept, ate, and by and large did not particularly complain about anything, well, except sometimes.

But now the little man has become quite big, and the comfort has clearly diminished - it’s very crowded, there is nowhere to turn around! And after some time it became completely unbearable: to breathe is a problem! The kid was worried - what is this being done? From excitement and annoyance, he began to push with his arms and legs. And here something extraordinary happens - the once so comfortable and cute house begins to shrink and literally survive the little one.

Outrageous! A flagrant injustice, with which one way or another (someone is faster, someone is slower) everyone reconciles. The child understands: it is necessary to "make legs". And there is only one way out - this hopelessly narrow creepy dark tunnel ...

And the kid has no choice but to go on a dangerous and, perhaps, the most difficult path in his life. The baby is hurt, dark, stuffy and scared. And after all these, frankly, unpleasant sensations, the most important shock and disappointment awaits the little man. Imagine that you suddenly find yourself naked in a terrible draft, a piercing light blinds your eyes, there is a deafening roar and noise around you, huge creatures are leaning over you, studying you with interest and speaking in a completely foreign language, in addition to everything, you understand that you cannot breathe like before...

In fact, we will never know what a baby feels and experiences when he comes into this world. One thing is clear: the psyche of a crumb is strikingly different from the psyche of an adult, it is still very primitive and is just beginning to form. And this circumstance in many ways helps the child to survive the strongest shock from the birth.

All new impressions at first appear to the infant as if in the form of a complex, without interruption from the situation. Researchers tend to think that in the first month for a child there is neither someone nor something, the baby experiences all external stimuli as a single state. However, what physical shell the baby receives the strongest blow, there is no doubt.

Many parents find in the maternity hospital discharge list unpleasant entries such as "syndrome of oppression on the first day", "tremor of the limbs" and, finally, the real scourge of our time - perinatal encephalopathy (PEP). And the fact that in the first few days after birth, the newborn noticeably loses weight? You won't lose weight from a good life...

Rescue Reflexes

A set of congenital unconditioned reflexes comes to the aid of the baby. With reflexes, the brave little man seems to cling to life, trying to hold on. But at the same time, he continues to be absolutely helpless, and only thanks to the care of adults is he able to survive.

Thus, the human cub turns out to be the most socialized creature, needing society like no other. At the same time, paradoxically, he does not have a single intelligible means of interaction with this society, with the exception of screaming. Then, as if in gratitude for the care, the child masters speech, and now this small compressed lump disturbs the mother’s heart endlessly, and cries, cries, cries ...

We fight with all our might, not sparing ourselves, trying to understand our little alien, trying to make his arrival in our world a little more joyful. And out of all this fuss, a huge and endless love gradually grows.

Know the measure!

The appearance of a child in the family is an incomparable happiness. I want to spend hours looking at this miracle, to please and entertain it. Mommy has not yet had time to recover, and sms and calls with congratulations and wishes are already flying to her from all over the world. Newly made grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts and uncles are in a hurry to look at the long-awaited descendant, storm the postpartum wards during reception hours or crowd under the windows, joyfully shouting the proper surname.

They all look forward to the day of discharge, make endless raids on shops, preparing a dowry, buying tons of clothes and rattles. Meanwhile, it often happens that these 3-4 days spent in the maternity hospital turn out to be difficult for mom and baby, but the most calm and therefore so desirable.

Soon, very soon, mother and child will be swirled by a whirlwind of worries and hitherto unknown difficulties, and all and sundry will exhaust them with endless advice and remarks, sometimes contradicting each other. In the meantime, you can silently admire your "work of art", and if there is any reason for concern, consult a doctor.

A few years ago, immediately after the birth, the child was taken away from the mother, carried to the children's department, and in the next 5-7 days, the meetings of the mother and baby took place only during feeding. Today, if the birth went without complications, in most maternity hospitals the baby is placed in the same room with the mother, which, of course, is correct, because this is how nature intended.

However, whether endless calls to the mobile phone, flashes of digital cameras and other intrusions from the outside were planned is a moot point. In the children's department, torn from his mother, the baby yearned surrounded by his own kind and was looking forward to dinner, and today, from the first hours of life, even under his mother's side, he becomes a victim modern technologies. Just do not take these words for agitation for the return of old traditions! Simply the most important thing a newborn needs is maximum peace.

It is no secret that even today the rules of maternity hospitals are strict and conservative, which at first glance may seem redundant and even meaningless. In fact, behind this lies the desire to give the child the opportunity to restore at least part of the spent resources in order to quickly adapt to the new difficult conditions of existence.

I must say that nature did not remain indifferent here either, and “rewarded” the crumbs with not such sharp eyesight and hearing as a healthy adult. But, despite this, it is the duty of every young mother to be aware and maintain a calm, friendly environment around the baby.

Try to avoid additional sensory stimuli in the form of bright lights, loud, harsh sounds, as well as enthusiastic and impressionable companies of relatives and friends, at least in the first couple of days after childbirth. It will all work out, trust me! Ideally, it takes about a month for a child to "come to their senses." So the sign that you should not show your baby to anyone before reaching the age of one month has a completely scientific explanation.

Security guarantee

It is generally accepted that the newborn sleeps almost all the time and does not respond to external stimuli. This is not entirely true. In fact, the baby is in a continuous half-asleep state, on the border of sleep and wakefulness, and is, as it were, disoriented in space. He seems to be sleeping, but at the same time he feels what is happening around him.

See how babies can lie in their mother's arms for hours, not for a second letting her breasts out of their mouths. And, waking up, the baby screams to let you know that he is not sure again, and he needs confirmation of his security and well-being. Well, at the same time, it would not hurt to refresh yourself! Scientists have long established that most babies breastfeed not only when they want to eat, but also when they are sad, scared, hurt, lonely.

It is very important that the mother maintain the fragile trust of the baby, come to the first call: “Yes, dear, everything is fine! You're safe!" Don't be afraid to spoil your little one! It is unlikely that he will be harmed by additional feeding (unlike adults, a child will never eat more than the body requires) or sleeping in his mother's arms.

Perhaps, after spending half a day with your son or daughter in your arms, you will not have time to cook dinner, but in this situation it is not so difficult to decide on a system of priorities: from the moment a child is born, he will most often occupy the first line in the list of your life values.

There is no need to be afraid that your child will "get used to hands." Children who really need it become “tame”. Perhaps they are in more subject to doubts about the reliability and stability of this world and self-importance in him. And it is your motherly duty to resolve these doubts.

Many researchers say that during this period of life, a basic trust in the world is laid. Now all feelings are important for the emergence of primary emotional and psychic connection with Mother.

Revitalization Complex

The first month after birth is one of the most difficult periods in a person's life. Therefore, try to surround the baby with calmness in all its manifestations. It is not necessary from the very first days to bring down an avalanche of new impressions on the crumbs. Do not rush to pay the child's attention even to bright toys and melodious music. Everything has its time.

The baby himself will report his readiness for active knowledge and exploration of the world. So, you will notice the ability to focus your eyes on an object at about 2-3 weeks, and at the age of 3-4 weeks, concentration on your mother's voice appears. The child pays more and more attention to the person closest to him - his mother.

From the reactions of focusing on her face, in the period from 1 to 2 months, a healthy baby develops the main phenomenon of the neonatal crisis - a revival complex, which at the same time is a signal that the crisis has come to an end, and it has been replaced by the period of infancy, which will last until crisis 1 year.

The revival complex is called an emotionally positive reaction, which is accompanied by movements and sounds; this is the first manifestation of the need for communication. It is difficult to overestimate its value, because for the first time (!) Your baby felt good! (Specialists tend to believe that in the period preceding the revival complex, the infant experiences only negative emotions).

The revitalization complex has three components. These are violent motor reactions (general motor excitation); cooing (the so-called first sounds that the baby makes); a meaningful smile at the sight of my mother's face. Thus, the revitalization complex is the psychic criterion for the end of the neonatal crisis.

The physiological criterion for its completion is visual and auditory concentration, the possibility of the appearance of conditioned reflexes to visual and auditory stimuli. Well, the medical criterion is the child's achievement of the weight with which he was born, which indicates the normal functioning of all body systems.

It should be noted that if the baby had any neurological problems (and today literally a few newborns do without them), the revitalization complex may appear a little later.

The revival complex occurs when a mother or another adult caring for a child appears. The baby begins to move his arms and legs, all this is accompanied by a joyful cooing and a sweet smile! You may have noticed before how your child smiles sweetly at something in a dream, but only now this smile is addressed to specific person. Get it! You deserve it!

We are accustomed to consider the moment of birth as the beginning of life. But didn't man exist before the first breath? Grof's perinatal matrices are an attempt by modern scientists to outline a model of intrauterine existence. How the course of pregnancy affects the fate is not yet born child?

The point of view of official medicine

Throughout the existence of official science, great minds have insisted that, until the moment of birth, the human embryo cannot be considered anything more than just a fetus. This approach can be easily explained by a significant reduction in personal responsibility. Unprofessional activity can be covered up with the concept of medical error. Otherwise, any unsuccessful outcome of pregnancy, including abortion, would have to be answered as for murder.

In addition, if we admit that even before the moment a person was born, he already has a mental perception of himself as a person, it will be necessary to rebuild not only the medical approach to pregnancy management, but also the legislative legal framework. So timid attempts to talk about prenatal memory are drowned out by the persistent rumble of those who disagree.

Theory of perinatal matrices

For the first time this concept was formulated in 1975 by an American psychiatrist Czech origin Stanislav Grof. Perinatal matrices, according to his teachings, are a model of human mental development at the stage of intrauterine existence and up to the moment of birth. In an attempt to figure out what happens to the child in the womb with psychological point view, a variety of studies have been carried out. The biographical method, when attempts were made to trace the relationship between the course of pregnancy and the further character of a person, turned out to be not the most original. Particularly courageous researchers have attempted to enter a state similar to that experienced by an infant during its own birth by injecting a cocktail of chemical compounds, including adrenaline and LSD.

Scientists could not make a consensus about the experience gained at the moment when a person was born. But some general pattern was found. It is obvious that a child in the womb, expelling him from his usual womb, experiences tremendous stress, similar to betrayal. In Grof's perinatal matrices, four main processes are identified that influence the further development of the psyche. Each stage is characterized by its distinctive features. The basic concepts are called by the scientist himself basic perinatal matrices (BPM).

Symbiosis with mother

It was not possible to establish exactly the beginning of the first stage. Some researchers believe that necessary condition is the presence of the cerebral cortex. Its formation begins in the second half of pregnancy, at about 22 weeks. However, scientists who allow memory for cellular level, believe that the process starts already at the moment of conception.

Grof's first perinatal matrix is responsible for a person: openness to the world, ability to adapt and perception of one's own Self.

It has long been noticed that the desired children, subject to a healthy pregnancy, develop better and make contact easier. BPM explain this by the fact that it is on this stage the ability to accept love, enjoy life, feel worthy of all the best is born.

The child lives in conditions close to ideal:

    Hazard Protection outside world.

    Comfortable ambient temperature.

    24/7 supply of nutrients.

    Swinging amniotic fluid.

With a positive first stage, the subconscious mind forms a program according to which life is beautiful, and the child is desired and loved. Otherwise, a behavior model is launched based on the feeling of uselessness. If thoughts of abortion are present, the fear of death will be embedded in the subconscious. Severe toxicosis creates the perception of oneself as a hindrance to others, evocative nausea.

Exile from Paradise

The beginning of the second stage roughly coincides with the first period of labor. During contractions, mother and child involuntarily inflict unbearable pain on each other. There are huge hormonal surges. The walls of the uterus put pressure on the baby, which causes response sensitive shocks in him with the whole body. Painful stress is transmitted from mother to fetus and vice versa, reinforcing each other's feelings of fear.

Grof's second perinatal matrix is called "Victim" by him. At this stage, the baby feels pain, pressure and no way out. A sense of guilt is laid: the good is not expelled and not subjected to suffering. At the same time, it forms inner strength: the ability to endure pain, perseverance, the desire to survive.

In the second matrix, there are two possible negative influences: absence and excess. The first is formed during caesarean section. The most severe pain stops suddenly, without any action on the part of the child. In the future, it is difficult for such people to bring what they started to the end. They are not able to persevere and fight for their interests. They keep waiting for everything to work itself out.

An excess of pain during protracted labor forms in the individual a habit of external pressure. As an adult, a person subconsciously expects a push to start decisive action. Possible predisposition to masochism.

There is speculation that the craze drugs caused by the prevalence of drug-induced labor induction. The subconscious mind writes a program that it is chemicals that help to escape from fear and pain.

It has been observed that people react differently to stressful situations. Some are resolutely looking for a way out, others seem to freeze in anticipation of the end. It is possible that the reasons for this behavior are in the initial choice that was made in the womb.

Fight for survival

The third matrix is formed at the moment of birth. A person is forced to be born even if he wants to stay inside and do nothing. It is on how the birth ended that further behavior in difficult life situations depends:

An active desire to get out of the clutches is reflected in future decisions to take responsibility.

With caesarean sections and rapid births, people do not gain experience in the struggle for personal interests.

A protracted course is manifested in the subsequent struggle throughout life, if necessary, fictional enemies and obstacles are created.

The third phase, according to Grof, is especially important. It is at this stage that most patterns of behavior in later life are laid. The scientist compares it with mythological labyrinths and a dense forest that stand in the way of fairy-tale heroes. Overcoming the first difficulties will become the basis for the emergence of future courage and determination to fight for your happiness. If the child passed this test only with outside help, in the future he will constantly wait for outside help.

Liberation

The fourth matrix is formed from the moment of the first breath and during the week after birth. It is unique in that it was created in a conscious state, therefore, it can be adjusted throughout life.

The labor pains are over, the pressure has stopped. The supply of oxygen brought relief from asphyxia. It became easier than it was. But much worse compared to being in the womb.

It is on how the child spends the first hours and days after birth that the perception of their own capabilities and freedom in the future will depend.

With a negative current, the newborn is tightly swaddled, making it impossible to move, and left alone to look at the ceiling. The subconscious mind writes down the program that all efforts were in vain. Incredible suffering ended with cold and a feeling of uselessness. In the future, such people grow up as inactive pessimists. Their psyche decides in advance that all efforts are in vain, and nothing good can happen in the end.

Unfortunately, in recent decades, everything has been done in maternity hospitals to create a traumatic matrix. Perhaps this explains the rampant alcoholism and the incredible scale of suicide attempts among the population.

Lifetime award

With a positive variant, the child is laid out on the mother's belly in the first minutes and given a breast. Satisfying hunger and falling asleep to the beating of his own heart, the newborn understands: the work is rewarded. Whatever happens, then everything will be fine.

The following days, spent next to mom, will finally form a positive attitude towards life and a sense of one's own need. Tactile pleasure, breast milk, peace and love are the main things that a person who has come into this world needs.

Of course, it happens that pregnancy and childbirth did not proceed as expected. It is possible that due to illness, the child was forced to be placed in a box immediately after birth. In this case, increased care and increased attention is required. Especially during the first year of life.

But loving mothers themselves understand this. And feel. Without any tables.
