SERGEY YESENIN INTERNATIONAL LITERARY PRIZE 2017
The International Prize named after Sergei Yesenin "Oh Russia, flap your wings ..." was established and carried out by the Writers' Union of Russia (URW) and the National Fund for the Development of Culture, Tourism and Crafts "Osiyannaya Rus" (NF "Osiyannaya Rus") since 2005 in the status of All-Russian and since 2010 in the status of International with the support of the Government Russian Federation, administrative and public organizations RF.
The Sergei Yesenin International Prize is a traditional landmark event cultural life, which unites already recognized masters in the field of literature, music, art and cinematography and just beginners, but already objectively bright and promising debutants from all over Russia, near and far Abroad - carrying a significant ideological orientation: increasing and recognizing interest in Russian culture, historical literary heritage all over the world where they write, speak and think in Russian.
This year, entries from various regions and corners of Russia and Belarus, as well as the CIS countries, the Baltic states, Poland and Germany were accepted for the prestigious Prize “O Russ, flap your wings ...”.
Prize in Nominations "For Honor and Dignity" noted the legendary sculptor and People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolay Alexandrovich SELIVANOV, author of the world-famous series of portraits and compositions about Sergei Yesenin and his life. More than 60 years of creative work of Nikolai Alexandrovich is over 200 busts and sculptures installed in many museum and administrative complexes in Russia, the CIS countries, Europe and the World. Addressing the guests of the Ceremony, Nikolai Alexandrovich shared his memories of how, while still a student in the 50s, he created his first sculptural composition "Sergey Yesenin with a birch tree", which later became one of his most recognizable works, and said that Sergey Yesenin has always been and remains the guiding star of his work, because "not to love him - for every real Russian person - is simply impossible."
Well-known documentary filmmaker from Voronezh Vladimir PARSHIKOV became the owner of the Prize in the Nomination " Cinema. Theatre. A television." for the landmark directorial and multifaceted historical research work “My dears! Good ones!" and Sergei Yesenin. 1925-2010". The famous animator, supporting V. Parshikov at the awards ceremony, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Nazaruk congratulated Vladimir cordially on high award and noted his special sharp and deep look in the field of documentary, wishing new bright works that will certainly find their response in the hearts of every viewer. Vladimir, in turn, dedicated the award to his grandmother, who once opened the world of the Great Poet's work to him, and to Svetlana Nikolaevna Yesenina, who sincerely empathized with his creative hopes and accomplishments.
People's Poet of the Republic of Buryatia, Honored Worker of Culture, writer and poet Andrei Grigorievich RUMYANTSEV became the owner of Big Prize" for the poetry collection “Time Calls for Kindness” - a lyrical confession-dedication to serving the Motherland, love and compassion for it and, of course, for the native Siberian region Andrei Grigorievich. The theme of Russia and the fate of its people, which are key in the poet's work, always move from a deeply personal to an absolutely popular one, reflected in reminders and responses about what is valuable and important for any Russian beginning.
Winner in Nominations "Song word" became a soloist of the Moscow Operetta Theater Artem MAKOVSKY from Sevastopol, who performed at the Ceremony “Above the Window the Moon”, “Golden Grove Dissuaded” and infinitely touched all those present the romance “Letter to Mother”, which, like the award itself, was dedicated to Artyom’s parents.

Before the ceremony, lovers classical poetry and successors of the traditions of Sergei Yesenin's work gathered for the Yesenin Readings. Everyone who wished could speak to the members of the jury with their works. Recitation competitions, which have already become traditional for events held by the Russian Union of Writers, always gather a large number of participants. And this evening was no exception - the foyer of the Great Hall was filled with inspired poets. The jury members of the Yesenin Readings noted an unusual emotional intensity performances, the diversity of the repertoire and roles of the speakers as a result of the undoubted influence of the immortal poetry of Sergei Yesenin.
After the end of the Yesenin Readings, the guests and participants of the event moved to the Great Hall, where they could enjoy a literary and musical concert with the participation of the soloist of the International Chaliapin Center Elena Symon and the laureate of the All-Russian and international competitions vocalists, Mosconcert soloist Pavel Bykov. The performers were accompanied by the laureate of international competitions, concertmaster of the Moscow Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky Ludmila Burova. The works of Sergei Yesenin were read by theater and film actor Igor Ilyin, the official voice of the Kultura TV channel. Dmitry Lunev, laureate of all-Russian and international vocal competitions, performed a song based on Sergei Yesenin's verses.

The solemn ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the "My Russia" award, President Russian Union writers Dmitry Kravchuk:
- Today, on the birthday of the great Russian poet, this award will be presented for the first time. The competitive season was opened a year ago here, in Central house writers. In the spring, May 24, on the Day Slavic writing and culture, the presentation of the award took place in the homeland of Sergei Yesenin, in the village of Konstantinovo, as part of a visit to Ryazan region Grand Duke George Mikhailovich. Particularly gratifying is the invisible presence of Sergei Yesenin at the moment when new literary names Russia. The culmination of the solemn ceremony was the announcement of the laureates of the "My Russia" award. For the presentation of the third prizes in the nominations "Poems" and "Prose", the director of the Goods and Services Management Group of the Biblio-Globus Trading House, Suzanna Yurievna Mkrtycheva, took the stage. She greeted the guests of the ceremony on behalf of the President of the Guild of Book Writers, member of the jury of the My Russia Prize Boris Semenovich Yesenkin, congratulated all those present and suggested continuing the traditions of these wonderful meetings already in "Biblio-Globus", the main bookstore of the country:

Commemorative diplomas and statuettes of the award were presented to the winners of the third prize Maria Shuvalova (nomination "Poems") and Igor Mukhanov (nomination "Prose").
Boris Igorevich Ioganson, member of the jury of the “My Russia” award, director of the Eseninsky Museum-Reserve in Konstantinovo, assessed the works of Maria Shuvalova submitted for the competition: “Here is the rarest, almost undeveloped thematic layer of Russian poetry - the sacrament of farewells, to which the very first meeting participates. This is in the pure sense of women's poetry, the element of fear and expectation. You see a hidden call to transitions to other facets of consciousness.
Igor Mukhanov - poet, prose writer, essayist, collector of Russian, Buryat and Altai folklore, author of "Tales and Tales of Zhiguli", discovered and successfully develops a new direction in literature - lyrical philosophy. The originality of his work attracted the attention of experts who gave him high marks.

The second prizes were presented by the leading researcher of the State Museum-Reserve of Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Konstantin Petrovich Vorontsov, who noted:
- Today proves the ever-increasing love for Yesenin's poetry. When I got acquainted with the first ten volumes of the collection of competitive almanacs, which included about 600 authors, I was in awe. Yesenin's sincerity, the desire to be kind and love the Motherland were present in the works of the participants. I will hope that the premium will grow every year.
The winners of the second prize were Yuri Pavlov (nomination "Poems") and Alexander Sizukhin (nomination "Prose").
Galina Sedykh expressed her expert opinion about the works of Yuri Pavlov: “Pavlov's poems are full of peace, tranquility, lyrical and penetrating. But at the same time they are patriotic without exaltation of the feeling of the Motherland. The most important thing is the longitude, duration, boundlessness of the space of the verse, similar to a Russian song in the boundless fields of Russia. Pure lyrics - quiet lyrics, without tenderness and affectation.
Alexander Sizukhin was awarded high marks members of the jury for a cycle of piercingly touching prose miniatures full of subtle and amazing observations.

The winner of the first prize was Andrey Kryuchkov, about whose works the expert Konstantin Vorontsov said: “A real poetic revelation. Calm, inconspicuous, classically adjusted mastery of form, depth, spirituality, cordiality of content. Recognizable author's handwriting and style, high figurativeness and objectivity poetic language. That same magical event, the reserved secret of great poetry, when familiar words and concepts become under the poet's pen full of genuine beauty of expression, penetrate directly - without any sign language translation - into the soul of the reader.
After the names of the prize winners were announced, actor Igor Ilyin took the stage and read excerpts from the laureates' works. It has also become a good tradition at the events of the Russian Union of Writers - the performance of the works of the laureates on the main literary stage of the country by a famous master of the word.
At the end of the ceremony of awarding the "My Russia" award, the host of the Yesenin Readings, Elena Albul, announced the names of the winners of the Yesenin Readings. At the awards ceremony "My Russia" I was surprised and delighted. I am happy that I became the winner of the first prize in the first competitive season, and my modest creativity was appreciated by the jury members. I live in Ryazan and I am proud that the Ryazan land did not let down the organizers of the Sergei Yesenin Prize.
Receiving the award inspired me to new creative achievements, it is always an incentive for further creativity. The status of a laureate is a kind of result of my poetic activity. Now I have switched to prose and am working on a novel.

Yuri Pavlov, winner of the second prize in the nomination "Poems":
I really enjoyed the awards ceremony. There was a solemn, festive atmosphere. This year, for the first time, I participated in the awards of the Russian Union of Writers: I sent applications for the Poet of the Year and My Russia awards. In the competition almanac of the "My Russia" award, my poems were placed on only three pages. I did not expect that I would become a laureate. Participation in awards inspires, takes you out of your state creative crisis. In my opinion, the title of nominee for the "My Russia" award is very honorable.
Alexander Sizukhin, winner of the second prize in the nomination "Prose":
Becoming a laureate of the "My Russia" award is wonderful! At the time when I was at school, Yesenin did not pass, but, nevertheless, at all feasts they sang songs to his poems. I did not expect that, having become older, I would receive a prize named after the great Russian poet. I am glad that the jury appreciated my works.
All my work is dedicated to my small homeland- I was born in the suburbs and lived here all my life. Ryazan is not far from the place of my birth, here are the same landscapes, the same distances, that's what I'm writing about.
It seems to me that real literature should be permeated sincere love. I think that worthy authors who write with love will always be found on the Poetry.ru and Prose.ru portals. For novice authors, the award is an opportunity to test your strength, to find out what mistakes you make. Creative people an impulse is needed, and the award can become it.

For me, the award was a deep shock. And great joy. I consider the establishment of the "My Russia" award an achievement, an indicator that Yesenin's culture is reflected in modern times. Thanks a lot to the organizers of the award, this is a serious contribution to Russian literature.
For me, receiving the status of the laureate of the "My Russia" award became a sign that I do not do it in vain. I advise future participants of the "My Russia" award to always believe in yourself and knock on all doors! Participation in the awards is, first of all, communication with people, with the same authors as you, and in addition, the opportunity to learn something new.
Igor Mukhanov, winner of the third prize in the nomination "Prose":
I did not expect that I would become a laureate of the Sergei Yesenin Prize. I write in a folk style, and I think that's why the jury liked my works. It's nice that, despite the small amount of works submitted for the competition, the commission was able to appreciate them. This causes special respect.
I believe that the participants of the future competitive seasons of the "My Russia" award should focus on the folk in their work, write easily and freely. In the works, the main thing is your style, individuality.

The work of the great Russian poet Sergei Yesenin (1895 - 1925) and in the 21st century with magical power attracts the attention of everyone thinking person, not indifferent to the fate of Russia. It seems that the poet, by his appearance, asked such a question, the answer to which is the business of our life, our future. "The feeling of the Motherland is the main thing in my work." These Yesenin words largely explain the feeling of spiritual kinship-empathy that covers us when in contact with his poetic world. Many songs based on poems by Sergei Yesenin have become popular. Where there is no indifference - there is living feeling. A person who lives in the fullness of being will not get tired of believing, hoping and loving.
We live in a cruel and turbulent time, when high is being replaced by low everywhere. The formation of a hierarchy of values in a person is a complex and lengthy spiritual process. By whom, if not by poets, has Russia always uttered its innermost aspirations? To whom, if not them, we dare to assert, she will confide her joys and sorrows! People need poets-interlocutors.
The establishment of the All-Russian Literary Prize named after Sergei Yesenin "O Rus, flap your wings ..." has one goal - to promote the revival of national Russian poetry. Along with poets, critics take part in the competition, reflecting in their works an objective vision of the processes taking place in Russian poetry, as well as performers of the most penetrating musical works(songs, other musical works) on the theme of love for the Motherland.

An open competition is held with the aim of:
Identification of the most original and talented poetic works, as well as critical works on Russian poetry;
Manifestations and popularization of the song beginning, traditionally inherent in Russian poetry;
Attracting readership and public interest to Russian poetry;
Raising the prestige of Russian literature, its social significance and role in the development of society and the individual;
Accepted for the competition poetic works(poems and poems), critical works on Russian poetry, as well as the texts of poems to which the music is set (with printed notes and the name of the composer indicated).
1. All-Russian Literary Prize named after Sergei Yesenin "Oh Russia, flap your wings ..." is awarded annually in four categories:
- "Big Prize" - for a major poetic work
or poetry collection (selection)
- "Inquisitive look" - criticism
- "Russian Hope" - poetry of the young
1.1. Co-founders may introduce additional nominations within the Prize
2. The competition accepts works in Russian, owned by authors living in Russia aged 18 to 30 years (in the nomination “Russian Hope”) and older.
3. Creative unions and publishing houses, as well as federal or regional literary magazines, have the right to submit works for the competition.
4. Poetry collections (works) published in the last 3 years can be submitted to the competition. Place and form of publication are not taken into account. Awarding other prizes does not prevent the awarding of the Prize.
5. The Prize Committee consists of 4 permanent members represented by the founders of the Prize and 4 temporary members invited to participate in the work of the Committee for awarding the Prize for a period of at least one year.
6. The Chairman of the Committee is elected by a majority vote of the members of the Committee and has equal rights with them. The duties of the chairman are organizing the work of the Committee, conducting its meetings, awarding laureates.
7. The Committee independently establishes the procedure for its work, taking into account the calendar dates for the competition.
8. The activities of the Prize Committee include the organization of seminars and round tables”, dedicated to the analysis of the latest trends in literature and modern culture.
9. Members of the Committee are not eligible to be nominated for the Prize.
10. The Prize Committee regularly disseminates information on the results of its activities and on planned events.
11. Prize winners are determined in two stages. First stage: Shortlists are formed from the number of authors nominated in each nomination by a majority vote of Committee members (3 authors in each nomination). Second stage: the winners of the Prize in each nomination are determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Committee.
12. Not later than 45 days prior to the determination of the winners in all nominations, the Award Committee announces the names of the authors whose works are included in the shortlists for the nominations.
13. No later than October 3 current year, The Award Committee announces the names of the laureates.
14. The award ceremony is dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of Sergei Yesenin and is held in October of each year.
16. All works submitted to the competition receive registration numbers.
17. Works are not returned to applicants, internal reviews are not reported to authors.
18. General budget Prizes - not less than $ 10,000. Prize winners are also awarded a copy of A. Bichukov's sculpture "Monument to Sergei Yesenin."
19. The founders of the Prize undertake not to establish such literary and poetic prizes in the future while the Prize exists. Otherwise, the party that violated this clause undertakes to compensate the other party for all related losses.
For the implementation of the nomination, it is necessary to send poetry collections (publications) marked "For the Sergei Yesenin Prize" in the amount of no more than 3 copies no later than June 30 of the current year

The award for "Honor and Dignity" awarded the legendary sculptor Nikolai Aleksandrovich Selivanov - folk artist RF, author of the world-famous series of portraits and compositions about Sergei Yesenin. The soloist of the Moscow Operetta Theater Artyom Makovsky became the winner in the "Song Word" nomination. He performed songs based on the verses of the great poet at the evening. Director Vladimir Parshikov (Voronezh) was awarded the prize in the nomination “Cinema. Theatre. A television". Andrey Rumyantsev (Irkutsk) became the owner of the Big Prize this year. The host of the ceremony and co-chairman of the Jury of the competition, the well-known Moscow poet and publicist Dmitry Darin, separately noted an interesting trend in the Nomination for Criticism "Searching Look" - the second and third places in which participants from Belarus deserved this year. The Publishing Prize 2017 was awarded to Alexei Leonidovich Kazakov from Chelyabinsk, and the "Debut" was Eugene Onegin from Moscow.
