Message about the life of modern man. Health is the principle of life

It should be noted that today many scientists from this field believe that modern man has contradictory features: on the one hand, he is the creator of the great achievements of our time, and on the other hand, he is an ordinary consumer who does not think about the need for self-development.

Of course, every culture has prominent figures who contribute to the development of progress, and also inactive people, but if you imagine modern man as a collective image, the picture certainly looks contradictory.

Modern man: the cult of success and morality

Today common for representatives different cultures is the pursuit of success. What's interesting is that earlier man considered success as a manifestation of heroism (a period of 50-200 years ago), the creation of strong family ties and the birth of healthy offspring, i.e. social realization excluding wealth.

Now, however, the measure of success (in most cases) is money, and the pursuit of it is sometimes aimed at destroying the environment, and sometimes even self-destruction.

It can be said that the spiritual, in the understanding of modern man, merge into a concept with one meaning, material, while earlier people endowed them with great differences.

However, society still pays great importance such concepts as mercy, kindness, sympathy: this is indicated by various organizations created for material support poor segments of the population.

Therefore, we can say that modern man has a polar one: you can find examples of both altruistic and selfish behavior.

and technology

Another one distinguishing feature modernity - an increased pace of introduction of new technologies and devices. And this is what distinguishes the life of the modern young man It is inextricably linked with technology.

Electronic devices have become of great importance to many modern people, they become not only a part of everyday life, but even form One has only to imagine a day without a computer and the Internet. For some, work cannot be organized without them, while others simply will not find it, and yet they will turn to other technical devices: telephone, radio, TV. 200 years ago, people existed without these devices, and now life without them would be very complicated.

Therefore, we can say that the life of modern people is very closely connected with technology, its quality largely depends on technical capabilities.

Modern man and the problem of freedom

Previously, the issue of freedom was not as acute as it is now. A person has learned to defend his rights, appreciate the expanded opportunities and respect the freedom of others. This is positive trait modernity: almost everyone is given the maximum possible freedom of development, which allows them to show their talents. This contributes to the development of progress and testifies to the humanity of the worldview. Equal rights important and beneficial to society. And the fact that they are now implemented is a positive feature of our time.

What should be a modern man

Historian and sociologist Boris Porshnev brought out such a concept as "neoanthropist", by which he understood the type of person of the future, but he pointed out that his representatives can be found at the present time. This person has the following traits:

  • free, not subject to someone else's suggestion (developed self-awareness);
  • abstract thinking, developed will and the ability to suggest are used only for constructive purposes;
  • striving for life balance society (lack of revolutions);
  • kindness.

According to the scientist, such people will be able to lead society to prosperity and reduce the number of conflicts that have a devastating effect on all areas of life.

The life of modern man is unthinkable without cars.

The life of a modern person proceeds in constant interaction with technical devices and systems. Naturally, great and serious efforts are needed to organize and improve this interaction.

It is impossible to imagine the life of a modern person, and even more so of society, without electricity. Availability, low cost, ease of use and a number of other advantages in comparison with other energy carriers ensured its wide, almost unlimited use in everyday life and the national economy. According to domestic and foreign researchers, 50 - 60% increase in productivity social labor provided by increasing its electrical power.

Negotiations are becoming an increasingly significant component of the life of a modern person. They arise not in a situation of hierarchical dependence (such as an army one), but if it is necessary to reach agreement among two autonomous participants.

It is no secret that the life of a modern person is largely associated with the achievements of science and technology. Every day people use refrigerators and televisions, computers and cell phones, drive cars, fly airplanes; society got rid of cholera and smallpox - diseases that once devastated entire villages; man landed on the moon and now cooks scientific expeditions to other planets solar system. At present, there is practically no area human activity, where one could do without using scientific knowledge, and therefore many people closely link the further progress of mankind with new scientific and technological achievements.

The role of buried structures in the life of modern man can hardly be overestimated. In addition to urban underground structures, these are also mine workings that accompany construction work, and underground structures during the reconstruction and operation of enterprises, including the mining and fuel industries. Underground workings acquire all greater value in life big cities when laying urban communications, in particular the metro and underground passages.

Organic chemistry persistently intrudes into the life of modern man, and this intrusion has two aspects. For example, polymeric materials, from which thousands of various kinds products used in Everyday life, undoubtedly contribute to the improvement of our life, but at the same time, during their production, numerous harmful wastes are emitted that pollute environment. Medicines help to cure diseases, but at the same time contribute to the development of new modifications of pathogens. Drugs save people from excruciating pains and create the basis for the development of social ills and crimes. It is no secret that in many countries a significant part of the population, in addition to occasional use medicines, regularly introduces into the body various tonic or hypnotic drugs, hormonal contraceptives.

Culture and civilization are absolutely necessary for the life of modern man to the same extent as his genetic program. By changing the environment, a person also changes his culture, which is accompanied by the evolution of cultural information and the partial loss of the old culture.

Without these chemical products, it is impossible to imagine the life of a modern person. Look around you - painted walls, floor, ceiling, window frames and doors, furniture, complex modern radio-electronic equipment - televisions, tape recorders, receivers; individual funds movement - car, motorcycle, bicycle, boat; sports equipment - skis, rackets; even the toys your children play with are colored in different colors.

The role of so-called minor chemistry in the life of modern man is exceptionally great. In 1976, Moscow hosted the 7th International Congress dedicated to surfactants. Behind last years their world production has grown to almost 3 million tons per year.

The scientific and technological revolution is also bringing enormous changes to the living conditions of modern man. The gigantic growth of cities, representing a widespread phenomenon throughout the world, in the absence of strict control by government and public organizations behind the ongoing processes of destruction of physical and biological conditions human environment urban living environment: and its dangerous effect on the human body: it is fraught with numerous dangers to the health of workers.

The question of the influence of the rapidly developing transnational Internet on the life of a modern person is the subject of heated discussions that have been going on in recent years not only among specialists in the field of modern information technologies but also among social scientists, economists, and politicians. Some warn against overestimating the value of the Internet, arguing that it is nothing more than an ordinary technological innovation among those that are so rich in the 20th century. Gordon, one of the world's leading experts on productivity and the facts behind its growth, believes that on the list of the biggest technological discoveries of the 20th century. The Internet occupies only 13th place, yielding in importance not only to radio, telephone, television, car, airplane, but also to such technological advances as, for example, antibiotics, home plumbing, and sewerage. All the advantages of the Internet come down to the fact that it significantly expands the access of a modern person to information and speeds up the process of receiving and transmitting it.

The awn of pathological processes from genetic, biological, social factors life of modern man, which are all in more determine the nature of his pathology. Without correct understanding and taking into account the biosocial essence of man, knowledge of the objective laws of the development of society, it is impossible to create a modern pathology. Since all functions human body in normal and pathological conditions are mediated social conditions, it is therefore important to study a person not only in terms of the unity of his biological and social characteristics but also at all levels of human organization: individual, collective and public.

Probably no branch of science has such great influence on the life of modern man, like chemistry. We eat food that uses chemical fertilizers and insecticides in the production cycle, we wear clothes that are made from chemical fibers, and in general, almost everything that we use in our daily lives is related to the chemical industry in one way or another.

The importance of organic chemistry is so great that at present it is impossible to imagine the life of modern man without the use of the achievements of this science. Organic chemistry is the basis of very many important industries.

Firmly entered the life of every Internet user. Even those who proudly declare that they do not have a page in any social network, from time to time still go under other people's accounts to see what is being done there. A social network can be called a swamp, if you bypass it, then everything is in order, and if you get into it, then how lucky you might not be hooked, or it might drag you out.

The development of modern social networks began in 1995, when the first social network Classmates.com was created, which still remains one of the most popular in the world. The concept turned out to be very popular, and since then social networks have been growing like mushrooms after rain. All more people different ages prefer to communicate in social networks, this is becoming the most popular activity on the Internet. Today, out of the 100 most visited sites, 20 are social networks in direct meaning, and another 60 in varying degrees socialized (forums, clubs, etc.).

However, social networks not only have a positive effect on a person. The addiction of people to social networks brings great harm. Every person has needs that he seeks to satisfy. For example, the need for communication, increased self-esteem, etc. It's much easier to do this online. Virtual life seems to be something different from real life. Here you can call yourself a different name, create a different image, it is easy to make many interesting friends, say whatever you want, without thinking about the consequences. I want to sit and sit in a social network, climb into groups, communicate, watch something. A person already eats at the computer, and not at the table. Virtual life begins to replace the real. Why meet, go somewhere, if you can talk or see photos of all your friends without leaving your home. Many people, having once got into a social network, “get hooked on it”, automatically updating their page, reading news or playing applications. It becomes difficult for such people to live in real life. Some deliberately refuse to meet with friends, saying that they are busy, while they themselves collect cucumbers in applications. And some people pay money to get votes or ratings, or exchange real money for coins in applications. Of course, this will not cause irreparable damage to the family budget, but it can lighten the wallet. And not everyone can realize their addiction.

Social media can also negatively affect children. It is proved that children who spend a lot of time there have problems with the development of speech. Many deliberately misspelled words, use profanity and believe that in real life it is also socially acceptable. In addition, by creating a page on any social network, children get unlimited access to a large number information, and no parental restrictions will help. Many children can be found in groups such as "Death, Murder, Massacre" or "Club of Maniacs". All this greatly affects the fragile children's psyche. Of course, children can find similar things outside the social network, but when joining such a group offers

The meaning of human life.

Almost every one of us has come across such an expression “the meaning of life”. And for a second he thought, what is the meaning of his life? But what does this expression mean?

The meaning of life is a philosophical and spiritual problem that determines the ultimate goal of existence, the purpose of mankind, man as species, as well as a person as an individual, one of the main worldview concepts that has great value for the formation of the spiritual and moral image of the individual.

The question of the meaning of life can also be seen as subjective assessment life as a person's understanding of the content and direction of his life.

And answering the question “What is the meaning of life?”, It is meant to find answers to the questions:

1. What are life values?

2. What is the purpose of life?

3. Why (for what) to live?

The answers to these questions determine further development human life. Depending on the purpose of life, a person chooses his own path of development. And he sets his priorities.

“From a medical point of view, all organs develop in the direction ultimate goal… The development of the soul is similar to the development organic life. Every person has a concept of a goal or an ideal that is necessary in order to achieve Moreover what is possible for him in the current life situation ... "

Alfred Adler "The Science of Living"

Continuing the Adler comparison, one can see that salivary glands, responsible for the production of saliva, cannot produce blood. So is a person, choosing for himself definite purpose, cannot reach everything at once. So he prioritizes the things that are most important to him.

And one of the priorities is health.

The meaning and purpose of life, the factors that determine his attitude to his own health.

Attitude towards health is a system of individual, selective connections of a person with various phenomena surrounding reality, contributing to or, conversely, threatening people's health, as well as a certain assessment by the individual of his physical and mental state. Attitudes towards health are manifested in the actions, judgments and experiences of people regarding factors that affect their physical and mental well-being.

The attitude to the health of an individual is characterized by four groups of indicators:

1. self-reported health

2. the value of health

3. satisfaction with the state of health

4. health promotion activities.

And all these indicators are imprinted by the meaning of human life. Let's analyze each item separately.

Everyone has their own self-assessment of health. People interested in something may not notice any minor health troubles, whether it is a headache or weakness. People who are engaged in the same business that they do not like, will evaluate their health in such a way as not to engage in this health. For example, a student who does not want to go to school will suddenly notice a slight headache, and a sore throat will feel like a cold. Thus, self-esteem of health will depend on the purpose and meaning of life, and how much a person wants to achieve the goal.

The value of health directly depends on the meaning of life. If the meaning of a person's life puts the good of a person above his own, then he will put his health below the health of others. So, for example, rescuers sacrifice their health and life in order to save the health and life of other people.

Satisfaction with the state of health is also influenced by the purpose and meaning of life. Like self-reported health, this indicator is subjective. It shows how satisfied a person is with his health. A person can be content with poor health if he is able to achieve his life purpose. An example of such a person would be a scientist who receives nobel prize. He may have a cold, he will have a migraine, but that will not stop him, because he has almost reached the goal of his life.

The last indicator is health promotion activities. How does it relate to the meaning and purpose of life? A person may not take care of his health if, for example, he is not worried about some kind of ailment. That is, self-assessment of health, according to a person, is very high - he is healthy. He may not take care of health if it is not valuable to him. That is, the value is zero. He may not look after his health if he is satisfied with it. That is, activity according to the state of life is connected with all previous indicators, and thus with the meaning of life.

meaning self-esteem health mental

So, the meaning and purpose of life is one of the most important factors that determine the attitude to human health. The meaning and purpose of life is directly related to human activity. And human activity is connected with health. Thus, what a person wants from life, what he wants to achieve, leaves an imprint on his health. And unfortunately, many people, in search of meaning or on the path to life, forget about it.

So, for example, in the novel by Erich Maria Remarque "Life on loan" main character sacrificed her poor health (she was seriously ill) left the sanatorium in order to last time look at the world and feel alive. She did not strive to live long, her goal was to live like a normal, healthy man. Also, many great scientists donated for scientific purposes. So Isaac Newton did not care about his health at all - he led a reclusive type of life, sleepless nights, crazy experiments with chemistry (then alchemy). But only by the fact that he also did not strive to live long. The meaning of his life was science, and the goal was discovery.

And he did not pay attention to health. Every day every person does small steps to his life goal, without thinking about how it affects his health. And it should be concluded that health should be given a little more attention despite the purpose and meaning of life. And perhaps then, in life, you will be able to do a little more than achieve your own goal.
